Magnolia Mist

Finally, this is in the data base. I have several samples of this perfume and have been waiting to review it. This is absolutely gorgeous. On my want shelf. Magnolia Mist is extremely floral, like the most beautiful pink, yellow and white bouquet of flowers. Upon the first spray it is brilliantly bright and fresh from lemon. It is like the warmth of the sun on a spring day. The air is moist from a rain and the flowers are in bloom. It literally smells like you are outside in springtime surrounded by saucer magnolia and tropical flowers. This is not a magnolia soliflore, it is way more complex than that. All the florals come through. The texture is delicate and creamy. I get the saucer magnolia, jasmine, mimosa, tuberose but I really get the champaca, that comes through for me in a big way. The musk mallow here is divine. I personally think this would make a lovely wedding perfume for a spring bride. There is an innocent quality in the beginning of the perfume but as it goes along it becomes more carnal, and sensual. A promise of the night to come. That is from the skin like quality of the musk she uses. I'm telling you if you like skin like musk in perfumes you will love this perfume and also her Irisque. Magnolia Mist is a light and easy to wear perfume, but it isn't boring by any means. It isn't your typical summer cologne. There is depth and richness here, while remaining light enough to wear in extremely hot weather. Golden pollen, Crushed petals and stems from the most beautiful flowers of springtime that have been liquified and placed in a bottle. I will say it again, I do not know why Charna isn't one of the biggest names in perfumery natural or otherwise. This woman is gifted. Once you get your hands on her stuff you will be amazed. As much as I admire Hiram Green I have only bought 2 of his perfumes in full bottles. I have bought 7 of Charna's and soon to be 8. She continues to deliver the best, most beautiful and longest lasting perfumes I have ever smelled, natural or otherwise. I will tell you this there is a hypnotic quality here and in most of her creations that mesmerizes and seduces.

I'm not a perfume expert but Magnolia Mist is absolutely gorgeous! It's a soft floral feminine scent and perfect for summer. This is definitely not earthy, woody, green or spicy. I just can't stop smelling my wrists. If you like strong/heavy floral this may not be for you, but I LOVE it! It's the kind of perfume you could wear and it wouldn't offend others, but that is not to say it's boring. I smell the magnolia with a little kiss of lemon, a little creamy, and a couple other notes I can't put my finger on. Providence Perfume Co is my favorite all natural perfume. My favorites are "Love In A Mist" perfume, "Rose 802 and Ivy Tower' perfume oils. Charna is a true perfume artist IMO.

Picture frolicking in a meadow with beautiful wildflowers while the sun's shining and the birds chirping. Maybe you're wearing a linen/cotten blend of sorts. It's warm. You lay down to rest in the tall grasses and finding a butterfly land on your cheek. Something tickles the back of your throat, so you leave the meadow and meander to a nearby well-shaded creek to cool down. That's the vibe it gives. "Ivy Towers" presence is made known especially in the dry down. The tiniest hint of nail polish remover. Floral and pretty with vines and cyanide.

I sampled most of this line and Magnolia Mist and Branch & Vine were easily my favorites. Magnolia Mist smells heady and feminine. I don't know what Champaca smells like but i smell Ylang-Ylang with citrus and something warm and grounding. My testing notes were: womanly, bright, sunshine, childhood, sunscreen, by the pool, slightly indolic but probably not too much. I also smell something grounding and warm, possibly sandalwood? This seems to have better longevity than Branch & Vine. I do wish the company would sell 10ml travel sprays (i loath roll-ons), as taking these with you throughout your day for touch ups would be a necessity. I would also love to see Magolia Mist and Branch & Vine made into an absolut or oil so i could slather myself. Stunning.
