Vanilla Vellum

Looks like I'm the first to review this beauty. I've always been somewhat of a vanilla skeptic. One of those perfumista's that complains about all the new vanilla releases. But that is probably because there really aren't many good ones out there. They don't use real vanilla. Vanilla vellum is so pretty, natural, delicate but full bodied. Voluptuous but still has subtlety and nuance. It starts off with a soft boozy vanilla accord. The vanilla becomes a bit tropical as it goes along. A beautiful bouquet of white and yellow flowers appears. I smell the soft coquettish spicy of lily and the honeyed pollen of mimosa. The touch of green stems. Balsamic and caramel like sugars and various high quality vanilla coat these flowers and turn them into a expensive not to sweet gourmand treat. Delicious with out being sticky or sickening. This is a pure delight. A beautiful floral vanilla of very high quality. Charna does such great work. Why she isn't as big a name as Hiram Green I still can't figure. Yummy. Lovely.

This is 3 or 4 types of real, high quality vanilla with a hint of bergamot. The opening gives fresh, dewy, ylang ylang florals & bergamot, but I don't smell the bergamot, at all, and get a boozy honeyed-vanilla on the dry down. It truly has a strong honey note, on me. So it fills the ‘perfect honey fragrance’ category in my perfume collection, even without that note. A gorgeous and classy gourmand (bc I want to eat and be steeped-in this vanilla). Very sweet, and it projects, without being cloying. Was gifted a free sample, and my friend loved it so much I got her a FB for christmas. If you are a vanilla lover, this is absolutely a safe blind buy! (if anything really is). You are paying for the high quality genuine natural ingredients, and getting very good value for performance and quality as well. If you are looking for a complicated perfume, “that tells a story” and ends up smelling TOTALLY different from the opening notes, maybe not.
