Puccini

This is so very pleasant and happiness-inducing, a beautiful strawberry-floral (even though strawberry isn’t in it, it gives a ‘strawberry’ impression). Juicy strawberries, and a bunch of fresh red roses are most prominent, though I can also smell violet, jasmine and vanilla, it is rather linear but does get more floral with time. It smells like: if you removed the musk and patchouli from Miss Dior, and added some juicy, fresh, ripe strawberries instead. It’s not a light scent, it has a good amount of body to it. I’d say it’s a medium weight scent, not heavy, not light. Does not smell cheap, synthetic or juvenile, though it does smell ‘young’. Tart sweet, not cloying or syrupy sweet, has freshness to it. Better for spring and fall, and also very uplifting for cold winter days. Very feminine and happy scent. Romantic too, makes me think of springtime in Paris. More suited for casual use or a daytime date. Longevity is moderate, but sillage is quite good for a scent that doesn’t have heavy base notes, it’s noticeable but not invasive (safe to wear at work). Will make a great gift for a young lady, though the over 30 crowd can definitely rock it too if they love fruity scents. Love it. Not easy to find, but worth hunting for (the price isn’t too bad either).

Indeed a pleasant summer scent: inoffensive, feminine, crowd-pleasing and office-friendly. On my skin: The opening is a refreshing blast of tart, citric fruits. Similar to raspberry-lemonade without sugar. Within 15 minutes it settles into tart juicy red berries with powdery-sweet violet in the background. I get 0 jasmine and the rose is fainter than the violet. I don't get strawberry nuances at all as the previous reviewer, but a mix of all tart red berries. They are the most prominent notes throughout the entire perfume lifecycle. The vanilla develops slowly and makes it sweeter. However there is no weight or heaviness to this perfume. It's 100% for summer and super hot weather. This is pretty much a summer/spring version of Lancome's 'Midnight Rose'. A much sweeter and complex version of this perfume is Elie Saab's 'Girl of Now Forever': They literally have the same opening and heart, except the rose in 'Girl of Now Forever' is very sweet like rose-water dessert. It has better depth too with almond, patchouli, etc. Projection is alright: arm's length for a while, the lasting power is slightly impressive...I can smell faint traces on my skin the next day. VERDICT: This is a great choice for humid, hot climate. Puccini Paris will not suffocate you, nor will it ever get cloying. It's not a juvenile perfume, and I would say its appropriate for all ages. A good, affordable alternative to Elie Saab's 'Girl of Now Forever' and Lancome's 'Midnight Rose'
