Gold, the last perfume launched by Puredistance Master Perfumes in November 2019, brings the result of what we call obstinacy. The company's creator (and creative director), Jan Ewoud Vos, had been working on this perfume and in the composition of its fragrance since March 2017, but after some tests, the result did not fit with what he had in mind. The process was set aside in order not to increase the feeling of frustration. Time passed and, in October 2018, Jan met perfumer Antonie Lie to talk about another project: Aenotus. It is worth remembering that Antoine Lie had already created three other fragrances for Puredistance: Black, White, and Warszawa. Then, came the invitation and the beginning of the revival of the Gold project. On April 30, they met again and the perfumer brought three samples, but it was enough to feel the first one for the decision to be made. The composition of this incredible fragrance was born there and was completed in June. Gold follows the Puredistance standard, which only produces fragrances in Pure Parfum Extrait concentration, with the best and most noble ingredients. This time, we are talking about 36% Perfume Oil and essences of green mandarin from Italy and bergamot from Calabria, as well as pink pepper from Reunion Island, rosemary from Morocco and cloves from Madagascar. That's only the beginning! In the body of the fragrance, absolute of Indian jasmine, absolute of labdanum from Spain, essence of geraniums from Morocco and absolute from the barks of the Madagascar cinnamon. To finish, the perfumer used the Honduras styrax, Lao benzoin’s resinoid, Indonesian patchouli, vanilla's green beans from Madagascar, myrrh and tonka beans absolute from Venezuela, in addition to the castoreum absolute and Haitian vetiver. Can you imagine the grandeur of this fragrance? On the skin, Gold's fragrance is full of surprises and distinct phases, which make it the most changeable of all the creations of the house. And in these mutations, we have a chypre and vintage side, as in feminine fragrances from the 70s and 80s (or even older), with a lot of citrus and jasmine. Then, when the sense of smell settles down, a new face of Gold appears, with more spices and a beautiful clove, tamed and in harmony with the cinnamon. A bath of hot spices and the emergence of the masculine spirit of the fragrance! I could stop here and everyone would be ecstatic. But Antonie Lie went further and hid another face of Gold, which reveals ambery and resinous nuances, with rich and sweet content. It is not possible to feel the fragrance of Gold and not get carried away by the synesthesia and the mixture of tones ranging from yellow to brown, referring to classic perfumes that have turned orange over the years and made us think of luxury and power, in an era in which expensive and French perfumes reinforced this concept. Puredistance Gold is not the kind of jewelry made by jewelers to be displayed in shop windows or on the social media of the biggest influencers. It is the type of gold that is molded tailor-made, to generate a unique piece, which has lived in the same family for centuries (as well as its durability on the skin) and which has incalculable value. It is not about labels; it's about exclusivity.

In my opinión gold is a nice option for those Who are looking for a sweet option suitable for day time. Gold is sweet but at the same time has some freshness and It is not very intense. Gold opens with an intense citrusy vibe. Tangerine and bergamot mixed with spices, very nice and fresh. Then It appears the sweetest and balsámic part of the perfume. Cistus, benzoin, myrrh... With a delicate castoreum animalic presence and the sweet aura that vanilla, tonka and cinnamon create. This feeling keeps for long time on skin. The perfume is very beautiful for me although is true at the same time that is one of the less original from the brand since there are some similar perfumes in the market. However the quality of the ingredients here is much better than in the other similar perfumes i have tried. Longevity is good and sillage is very moderate. Gold is an exceedingly beautiful and tantalisingly sublime amber perfume, encapsulating the true character of a traditional amber accord, without ever feeling boring or repetitive. It opens rather dry and herbal alongside the chewy resins of benzoin and myrrh. A touch of citrus battling the sappy lapdanum and dark vanilla lends almost a sharp boozy effect, which soon settles into something far softer and more sensual. It maintains a somewhat clean freshness throughout, never venturing into truly dark amber territory, instead remaining perfectly polite. I adore this scent. Once again Antoine Lie has outdone himself on quality and ingenuity. I can absolutely see myself buying a bottle of this eventually, if I can stomach the price!

What a beauty! Gold is incredibly old fashioned in that there is no novelty or quirk. It's simply a very lovely, dense and warm oriental. Considering there are many strident powerful notes in here, in wear, she is gently subtle and will never overwhelm you. . A must if you loved YSL Opium but find the current formulation a bit screechy.

Amazing fragrance. You get this Ambre Narguille, Musc Ravageur resinous sweetness with smooth creaminess and a tiny bit of freshness. Super well blended and wearable. You can tell it is a high concentrated perfume. Is it expensive? Yes. But with one spray it lasts a looong time, smells expensive and the presentation is to ide for.

Discreet, sophisticated Woody Aromatic Chypre composition. It opens with citrus aromatic notes of mandarin, bergamot, and slight hints of pepper and clove. The heart is labdanum prominent with hints of jasmine, geranium and cinnamon. The perfume settles on a powdery bed of myrrh, benzoin and vetiver with slight hints of patchouli, vetiver, styrax and castoreum. In spite of several ingredients this is a relatively light unisex fragrance with moderate sillage and projection and average longevity. Not overwhelming like say Diaghilev, but an absolutely criterion grade woody chypre composition. Enjoy!

Nice amber fragrance with a big citrus and spice opening. The mid is complex and I don't know what I'm smelling but it's gorgeous. Finally leading into an indolic drydown. Many below have described the fragrance aptly. While it is beautiful, it's not my style right now. -

Seems like there are no objective reviews of this crappy creation, only fake and possibly paid reviews by adherents of Puredistance. Gold is a nauseatingly chemical scent that will burn your nostrils from the get go and cause headaches. Try only if you like: Summer citrus scent by Mr. Clean Lemon Pledge A real scrubber. Pun intended. *this is my opinion, on my skin and to my nose.

Gold is an exceptional fragrance that is my favorite from the four fragrances that Antoine Lie created for Puredistance. It feels like a fragrance from the last century but modernized with modern aromachemicals. It opens with bright mandarin and bergamot, before moving to a luxurious (I hate this word but it was the first word that came to my mind) ambery powdery floral heart, the transition of the fragrance from the citrusy opening to the floral heart reminds me of Amouage Ubar (They are not the same but has a similar transition). I am surprised that there is no iris or ylang-ylang here because the floral accord does remind me of the iris/jamsine/ylang combo in Clive Chrisitan No 1 (The floral accord here is not as sweet though), but a bit more indolic like Amouage Gold Man. These florals are combined with a spicy incense amber accord similar that of YSL Opium and Fate Woman. There is a beautiful musky animalic undertone that I detect from the mid until the drydown, not civet like Amouage Gold but more appealing like castoreum. The far drydown consists of a soft vanilla/tonka combo.

GOLD from Jan Ewoud Vos's house Puredistance has released a magnificent classic oriental created by Antoine Lie. At extrait at 36% concentration the parfum needs just a spritz to unleash it's glory. I find too few these days as rivals. Some from the most well known houses such as Boucheron Boucheron, Chanel Coco, Coty Emeraude, Caron Poivre, Guerlain Shalimar, Houbigant Chantilly, Yves Saint Laurent Opium, Jean Desprez Bal a Versailles, Jean Patou Moment Supreme, Christian Dior Mitzah, Lanvin Prétexte, Frederic Malle Musc Ravaguer, Ormonde Jayne Black Gold, Rochas Byzance come to mind. I'm happy to add this to these great gems as only a few mentioned are still being produced. There are several indie houses releasing note worthy perfumes in the oriental family. Independents not owned by major corporations such as Tauer L'Air du Desert Marocain, Papillon Artisan Perfumes Anubis, Bruno Fazzolari Ummagumma. Dawn Spencer Hurwitz Lautrec amongst others.

Gold - the newest release by the house, created by the iconic nose of Antoine Lie. The perfume creates a magical world of old and new - as I am having a sniff of this gorgeous scent, I imagine oldschool french boudoirs, but that image slowly transforms into the world of the modern. Top notes of bergamot, mandarin and pink pepper opens the fragrance which slowly fades away, however the warm, woody, vetiver and tonka base combined with jasmine and cinnamon totally takes over and creates this - oriental dream. Sophistication, with a witty, playful twist makes this perfume totally unisex - a powerful woman and a man can wield this as a token of their appreciation for the confident life they live. Gold is undoubtedly a 21st century creation which incorporates the feeling of a modern person while nods to the world of old.

The only fragrance that Puredistance Gold reminds me of is Amouage Gold Pour Homme. This opens up with a huge animalic punch - IMO it's civet, but might be the other facet of castoreum as well. It lasts a bit and then changes into spicy-sweet concoction with a sour note in the background. When it starts drying down it looses it's sweetness and gets woody, very smoky and a bit earthy. I cannot smell anything else. It is in fact smoky as most of Amoages but in a totally different way. This IMO comes from myrrh, not olibanum. Longevity is above 15 h, sillage on me is very good. The other thing is that I've been already asked few times why have I used women's perfume. Although targeted for men this is unisex all the way. Women can easily pull it off.

Gold to me is a true Oriental Chypre perfume. It has this classical chypre feeling with a bit darker motives, it is a bit deeper with noticeable spices notes during a few couple of hours. At first, it begins a bit citrusy but it settles downs in a few minutes and the scent begins to change. It's very classical and mature, elegant and refined. After a few hours, you can start to feel some sweetness, not a lot but the scent loses its citrusy top notes and the base begins to reveal. Also, a bit animalistic notes seem to reveal themself. It becomes denser and deeper. The dry down is calm, and soothing, while the beginning of the scent may seem a bit harsh Longevity is very good up to 8h for sure.

Hey! There are really good quality ingredients in this thing. There is a recognizable Puredistance DNA here. Fresh orange peel with almost soapy bergamot. Really good bergamot. An itty-bitty of herbaceous character with some picante kick. It kind of wants to become a Chanel style aldehydic scent, but the resins keep it from it. In the end, it's about the orange, resins, labdanum, tonka, and bergamot. This scent could be well worn in an outing worth of a good champagne toast. Not ultra-complex, but it doesn't need to be. Edit: I spilled half my sample. The materials shine. This is such a high-quality fragrance. A+

Yes, goes notch more nice and special on the Gold no.10. Different citrus than so far, not the set signature main citrus, get a cheerfull mandarin, complex and then settles a bit into an unexpected bit watery and airy space. A floral and fruit Puredistance, leans more midway unisex, so nice, doesn't focus on any main note, it's a details build up around the relaxed core. And then, turns even more unisex with a slight animalic touch to it, so suble. Real fine humble scenario, quality carefree.

This is a very nice, classic, spicy amber somewhere between Amouage Fate Woman and original formulation Opium. It’s more pared down than Fate, without the powder and animalic aspects and classier and richer than Opium. I find it to be more of a warm brown than gold and the dry down is the part I’m in love with. A perfect fragrance for a crisp Fall day.

Reach, opulent, oriental. Spices, jasmin absolute, balsams, resins, woods and tasty tonka/ vanilla combo in the base. Classic yet modern. Highest quality, perfect performance. Real gem. Totally uniseks. This is how real gold would smell, if it smelled at all. Another masterpiece by Puredistance, Jan Ewoud Vos and Antoine Lie. Great!

This is a blind buy that I am more than happy with. The first impression is that it is just beautiful if that makes any sense. The quality is oldfashioned but the fragrance is modern. I have been wearing it for a couple of days and trying to remember what it reminded me of. It reminds me of a softer, more wearable Ubar.

I really like this one! It's thick, grandiose, juicy...sweet and spicy, yet retains a freshness that is almost bubbly like a soda. Funny thought, but in my mind this is what a coca cola with glittery gold color would smell like.

why the sillage is weak rated? Antoine lie seems to do weak sillage
