Puredistance M No. 03

Puredistance M, created by Roja Dove. Now this, ladies and gentlemen, is a proper perfume. For me, it ranks supreme, next to Diaghilev, for olfactory works Mr. Dove has signed under his personage. However, unlike the former, this one was commissioned by another house. Once Roja realized he had given them a masterwork composition, he tried to recreate it under his brand. Unfortunately (to my taste), he fell rather far from the original design. While I enjoy his Fetish Pour Homme, I don't think it can match M in refinement and richness through restraint. I get more of a "Diaghilev-type" of aesthetic, build, and flair from M, whereas Fetish feels like a young brat overzealous in his hand gestures and dress code, trying to get all attention. M, much like Diaghilev, doesn't need to open his mouth to draw all eyes on him. The only issue is that it draws heavy inspiration (ahem, again) from a well-reputed and highly acclaimed vintage perfume. Despite that, Dove manages to take that theme, expand it, and in my opinion, perfect it. Hence, I'll forgive him once more and succumb. M unfolds as a complex journey in three well-defined acts. I see people labeling it in many ways—a leather perfume, for the most part—yet it is difficult to categorize. It is a Leather, Oriental, and Chypre perfume—and you'll get all of that. Moreover, it has an unmistakable vintage flair. On my skin, the first act is the "Leather." Starts with a short-lived burst of citrus, more on the juicy than the zesty side. It goes away quickly to reveal a bouquet of spices and a well-defined brown leather accord. As for the spices, I don't pick up the cinnamon just yet, but more of the cloves, and my favorite, cumin. The leather accord steers into the "naughty" territory fast, and I suspect cumin to render its dirty facet. It even feels oily at times. Nonetheless, it plays a fine balance between an old-school Cuir-de-Russie leather accord and one of the more modern/polished varieties. In this part, I also detect the floral component, the carnation mostly. It complements the spices and helps perpetuate the "vintage" feel. The second act emerges with the "Oriental" theme. I would call this the mid-phase of M. The leather takes a back seat while the cistus makes its way front-stage. Now, I pick up more of the cinnamon that pairs so well with the former. A slight toffee/sweet facet creeps in with a light smokiness and a glowing hue. It feels dusty and warm, with a slightly increasing sweetness without ever going over the top. At this stage, it wears like a proper Oriental perfume. Lastly, the final stage is the "Chypre." The resins cool off while the leather makes a return, only this time, it takes its best friends with it, the oakmoss and the musk. The latter feels like a castoreum type of musk, by comparison to the heavy civet in Diaghilev. Make no mistake though, it plays just as heavily. The Oakmoss Accord is the main star, providing its inky-bitter and earthy quality, while the other two support it brilliantly. It feels so rich and decadent that you can almost chew it. It lasts like this for a long time and lingers on garments beautifully. You will smell the faint aroma on them many days after and think: "What a decadent and posh smell." I have never been an enthusiast of Mr. Dove's craft, and yet, here I am again, bulging my eyes out for another one of his creations. M, next to Diaghilev, are, in my opinion, his finest works and two of the most thoroughly executed perfumes I was fortunate enough to experience despite being heavily inspired. IG:@memory.of.scents

برد الشتاء قارس و سكون الليل له مهابة الموت التربص و الملل .. ضيفان ثقيلان لا يبرحان مكانهما في ليالي الشتاء و أنا أحترم ضيوفي فلا أحب ازعاجهما بأغنية هنا أو حوار هناك جمال اللحظة في أن تحتفظ بطبيعتها.. لا أن تغير طبيعة الأشياء الأوراق متناثرة علي المكتب و شاشة الحاسوب تشكل مصدراً إضافياً للضوء و إن كانت تنطفؤ كل خمس دقائق فتفاجؤني في كل مرة فأضغط أحد الأزرار في آلية مقيتة ليبقي الوضع علي ما هو عليه و دون أن يلجأ أحدٌ للقضاء. كلما حرك الهواء زجاج نافذةٍ أو فتح الجيران باباً تقفز من حقيبة ذكرياتي أوراق الخوف من اللصوص و حكاوي الجن و العفاريت أسند رأسي علي المكتب علني أغفو دقيقتين استعيد بعدهما نشاطي لأرفعها و قد ساد الظلام ..و البرد ها هي إذن أسطورة الشتاء تتسيد الموقف لا أدري كم من الوقت مر قبل أن أنتبه لصوت التينور الثلاثة لوتشيانو بافاروتي و بلاسيندو دومينغو وخوسي كاريراس و هم يتقاطعون بأصواتهم في رائعة فيردي (لادوننا إي موبيل) فكأنما هم الفرسان الثلاثة يؤدون استعراضاً راقصاً بسيوفهم الدقيقة فيفتح المشاهدون أفواههم في كل حركة أو انقضاضة. أردد الكلمات في فخر و أبهة و كأنني واحدٌ منهم دون أن أفهم معناً لكلمة واحدة البرودة تزداد. أشعر بالهواء يخترق رئتي كأنها طلقات رصاص. نحن علي ارتفاع ٢٠٠متر من سطح البحر لكن معطفي الجلدي ذو بطانة المنك يحول دون تجمدي. (هانت) أهتف في سري و أنا أخرج بطاقة الدعوي علي بوابة قصر "نويشفانشتاين" الأثري المهيب و صوت التينور الثلاثة يعلو من قاعة المغنيين كلما اقتربت ما إن عبرت البوابة الأسطورية حتي أبهرتني التشكيلات النباتية لحديقة القصر التاريخي العتيق . و كأنها كتائب حربية قد تراصت شاهرة أريجها في وجهي محاولة ً السيطرة علي المشهد و منعي من تخطيها كما فعل الزائرون قبلي. أشجار الليمون و البرغموت يطلون في هيبة ملكية تليق بالحديقة و بالقصر علي الورود و الياسمين و الفانيلا . جاهدت نفسي حتي أتخلي عن سطوة الحديقة و ما فرضته علي من وقوف . أخشي أن أفوت ختام بافاروتي لهذه المقطوعة فيفوتني نصف المتعة. قفزت علي السلالم بما لا يليق بهيبة المكان أملاً في اللحاق و طلباً لبعض الدفء و النشاط. الحضور في معاطفهم الجلدية البراقة و صمتهم المقدس كأنهم تماثيل من الشمع إلا أن دخان سيجارٍ هنا و التفاتة هناك تعيد الحياة إلي المشهد فيطمئن قلبي أنني لست أحلم. أحلم ..نعم قد يكون هذا حلماً لكنني أملك مهارة استكماله قبل أن أفيق. بعض القرفة المحلاة بالعسل و حبتين قرنفل قد تمنحني دفئاً أكثر . لماذا نسيت سيجاري الكوبي الوحيد . لقد ادخرته لهذه الليلة من سنين حتي أبدو في مثل عنجهيتهم. لا بأس.تكفي القرفة في هذا القدح الملكي. لا مجال للقفازات إذن . أحب أن أحتضن القرفة بيدي ..يا الله ..كم هي قاسية برودة الشتاء. انهي التينور الثلاثة الأمسية ب (نيسان دوريما) و قد أرهقني التصفيق حتي غصت في مقعدي مطلقاً لروحي العنان علها تحاول الإمساك بالوقت فلا يفوت و لا يمضي. امتدت يدٌ صغيرةٌ باردةٌ تربت علي يدي وجدت "حبيبة" تقف باسمةً و هي تسألني هذا هو العطر الذي طلبته يا أبي؟ و بين يديها تحفة العطور من بيور ديستانس (إم).

Are M & Fetish similar? Two leather-based perfumes #M and #fetish are mentioned as two similar perfumes. I would also like to share my simultaneous testing experience. #M by #puredistance & #fetish by #Roja_dove . . 1️⃣ Similarities: 1. Having the same perfumer that can inadvertently lead to the creation of two similar perfumes with Attar's unique signature. Especially since the first perfume, namely M, was not related to his company and was very successful, and for the #Fetish perfume, which he made for his own company two years later, the use of the success elements of M perfume will not be surprising. 2. Both are leather-based and the presence of Oakmoss , Amber, Patchouli and Vetiver and wood play an important role in creating similarities between the two perfumes. . . 2️⃣ The differences : 1. Fetish perfume is more leathery and heavier than M perfume. Leather in fetish is a bullying note with low flexibility next to other notes. Seventy-five to twenty-five are seen as a result of proximity. But the leather in M is lighter and more flexible and allows the effects of the notes to be seen on itself. In a way, this flexibility creates different and new faces of leather, which adds to M beauty. You can see 50_50 result of proximity. 2. Fetish perfume is heavier and more formal and M perfume is more intimate and sensual. 3. The presence of wooden, smoky, earthy and animal space next to leather can be seen in fetish. On the other hand, the space of spice, amber and agarwood is more visible in M. There is less earth space in M than fetish . 4. In general, in my opinion, despite the similarity of the notes in the two perfumes, I see these two very differently, and between this two, the M perfume is much more attractive to me. 5. Finally, I would like to congratulate the great master of the perfumer world, Raja Dove, for creating these two precious gems, and these two works are enough for his name to shine in the world of perfume. One of the best leather perfumes ever which opens up with bergamote and lemon then gradually turnes to a leathery base note. There are two similar frags in this genre,Hermes "Bel ami" and Roja dove Fetish Parfum. Hermes "bel ami" is a green leathery kind which is fresher lighter with lower sillage while Fetish is a sillage bomb inducing lemony everlasting leather masterpiece. About Puredistance M based on it's good quality and more budjet friendly price tag i might call it a better choice than Fetish. M is a f/w masculine perfume,presents perfectly ok,nothing ordinary or flat. از دو عطر چرم محور #M و #fetish به عنوان دو عطر مشابه یاد شده. من هم مایلم درین باره تجربه تست همزمانم را بیان کنم. #M by #puredistance & #fetish by #Roja_dove . . تشابهات : ۱. داشتن عطار یکسان که ناخواسته میتواند منجر به ایجاد دو عطر مشابه با امضای منحصر به فرد عطار گردد. بالاخص که عطر اول یعنی ام , مربوط به کمپانی خود نبوده و بسیار موفق گردید و برای عطر #فتیش که دو سال بعد برای کمپانی خودش میساخت ، استفاده از عناصر توفیق عطر ام جای تعجب نخواهد داشت. ۲. هردو چرم محور هستند و حضور اوکموس ، امبر ، پچولی و وتیور و چوب در ایجاد تشابهات این دو عطر نقش به سزایی دارد. . . تفاوت ها : ۱. عطر فتیش نسبت به عطر ام ، عطری چرمی تر و سنگین تر محسوب میشود. چرم در فتیش ، نوتی زورگو و با انعطاف پایین در همجواری با سایر نوتهاست . به گونه ای که دراثر همجواری نسبت هفتاد و پنج به بیست و پنج دیده میشود. اما چرم در ام چرمی سبکتر و منعطفتر بوده و اجازه دیده شدن اثر نوتها بر روی خودش را میدهد. به گونه ای این انعطاف باعث ایجاد صورت های متفاوت و جدید از چرم میشود که این امر بر زیبایی هرچه بیشتر ام می افزاید و میتوان نسبت همجواری چرم با سایر نوت ها را پنجاه پنجاه دید. ۲. فتیش عطری سنگین تر و رسمی تر و ام عطری صمیمی تر و سنشوال میباشد. ۳. حضور فضای چوبی و اسموکی و خاکی و انیمالیک در کنار چرم ، در فتیش به چشم می آید. از سوی دیگر فضای اسپایسی و امبری و عودی در ام بیشتر دیده میشود. فضای خاکی در ام کمتر میباشد. ۴. درمجموع از دید من علی رغم شباهت نوتها در دو عطر ، من این دو را بسیار متفاوت میبینم و بین این دو ام برایم عطری بسیار جذابتر میباشد. ۵. در انتها جا دارد به استاد بزرگ دنیای عطرسازی ، رژا داو ، برای خلق این دو گوهر ارزشمند تبریک جانانه بگویم که همین دواثر برای درخشش نامش در دنیای عطر کفایت است 👏👏 . من را در اینستاگرام میتوانید همراهی کنید @percomo_time @percomo_shot

Unimpeachable quality. Excellent blending. It just smells GOOD. Overall impression of the notes: leather smoothed out by vanillic notes, with the perfect dose of spices (my nose read it as nutmeg, but clove/cinnamon makes sense, too; baking spices tend to be interchangeable for me). Not sweet, but not austere either, just a perfectly balanced, masculine and refined effect. There are no jagged edges, nothing sticks out awkwardly above the other notes, nothing overstays its welcome, nor vanishes too soon. The longevity and projection are impressive, to say the least. I'm not someone who likes aggressive projection, so I erred on the side of caution with about 1/3 of a spray to my left wrist, and it was the perfect amount. I could smell it even when my wrist was at waist-level, although it was good enough that I was frequently bringing my wrist to my nose to inhale more deeply. As with all perfumes with a reputation for monster projection, simply adjust the application accordingly. If, like me, you only need a tiny amount of this to get the desired effect, it makes the price much more reasonable. As for longevity, it's more than anyone could ever want. After about 28 hours, it was still a noticeable skin-scent. Also, don't be scared off by the vanillic notes: I generally don't like vanilla, but here it's perfectly blended to just lend a smooth, creamy aspect to the scent. Nothing cloying or overly sweet to be found.

Smoooooooth. This is a Titan of Perfume World. Excellent quality, excellent longevity, excellent silage. Yes it costs a lot, but it will last you very long. Dont buy it as your everyday fragrance, buy it for those days when you need a boost. Sad? it will punch sadness out! felling great? it will make you feel even better! This is my fragrance for the rainy days, when i dont live but exist. This brings me back to life :D Notes, notes are masterblended. It is hard to separate them, but somehow you know that they are there. Cinnamon - yes! Cloves - yes! Dont see Castoreum anymore on website, but YES! Oakmos present! This is the stuff! Start comes up as smoky prunes, which to me - is amazing! a little bit of citrus to fresh it up. Wow! Heart is extremely smooth leather and woods i suppose, would totally vote sandalwood, vanilla. everything really. Lasts 10 hrs min on my perfume consuming skin. If have a chance to test it, do it. get a full bottle? YES SIR! Had chance to try Bel Ami and Fetish. Bel Ami is definitely a great one, and if one cant get M, get Bel Ami. less smooth, more rugged Mens scent that delivers. Total gem! Fetish is worst out of 3. Too much citrus at the start that carries into heart and even base, which kills it all for me. Meh of a start. heart is close to M, but just not that. At the end of the day, to each its own. Test before buy, to make sure its still a good juice, as mine is from 2015.

This Pure Parfum Extrait, sold in 25% of Perfume Oil concentration, was released in 2010, inspired by one of the cars used by the 007 Agent, the Aston Martin. The creator was the perfumer Roja Dove and the objective was to convey sophistication, excitement and danger. It combines notes of bergamot and lemon, on the output, followed by notes of rose and Jasmine, in the heart, ending with a complex background of cinnamon, patchouli, mosses, labdanum, vetiver, vanilla, musk and leather. Once applied on the skin, it's like a punch in an action scene of James Bond movies. Bergamot and lemon? Where? Just a whiff of the rose and, immediately, the opulence of the base notes. It's like if the fragrance was made only by the existing notes at the base of the olfactory pyramid. The patchouli manages to be bitter and creamy at the same time. The labdanum reinforces, even more, the aroma of leather. After about one hour of its application, it is possible to notice some of the nuances of musk. And when you realize that the evolution has come to an end, the result is a mildly incensed aroma, which can also tends to amber, depending on the skin. Puredistance M is masculine and mysterious. Translates the universe of James Bond, along with the mystery of the "M” character, played by Judi Dench. Definitely, M is a "Must have"!

Puredistance M is pure magic!! Inspired by the leather interiors of a classic Aston Martin, Puredistance M is all about the leather note. The fragrance has a sweet and spicy opening on my skin with cinnamon and clove notes. However, I can smell the citrus notes blended in with the spice when I spray the fragrance on my scarf. The fragrance soon transforms into a rich and sophisticated leathery-woody-labdanum blend. The rich leather-woody base gives an impression that the fragrance is very masculine, but I think it can easily be worn by women. The fragrance has good silage and great longevity. It stays on my skin for 10-12 hours easily and for days on my scarf. Top Notes: Bergamot and Lemon Middle Notes: Jasmine, Rose, Vanilla Base Notes: Labdanum, oak moss, woody notes, vetiver, patchouli, carnation, cinnamon, clove, leather, musk Puredistance M takes me back to the spice and perfume market in old Dubai, where a medley of spicy, woody, earthy, leathery scents envelop you as you walk along the small local shops. Rich, complex and smooth, this is a fragrance for special occasions in my opinion. Puredistance M has quickly become my favourite leather fragrances. M opens with a leathery spicy oakmoss with a touch of cummin. Then five minutes later this gorgeous stunning jasmine floral note kicks in like a ray of sunshine peeking out of the clouds. The oakmoss note recedes though I do detect some leather still underpinning it and the beautiful florals start to dominant. As time moves forward I can detect vanille and the cinnamon weaving in and out of the composition. As this is a perfume extract it only took a dab to my wrist to get a strong projection though not in a heavy way more light and strong. The strange thing with this fragrance is different aspect's of it seem to be more prominent depending on the application. I noticed if the scent was dabbed onto my skin the spicy oakmoss leather came to the forefront while the stunning florals and vanille & cinnamon held itself in the background. And visa versa with spraying it onto your skin. I have too say this fragrance is stunning in the quality of ingredients used especially how the jasmine note is used. Every so often this scent just seems too come together in a perfect harmony of oakmossy spicy leather and the floral vanille cinnamon. When it does the effect to your olfactory senses is one of pure magic.

M by Puredistance is a cowboy. M starts off with sweet and salty leather, and warm smoky spices. There is an earthiness which smells like freshly cured leather and vetiver. The color of the leather pulses like a neutron star in the night. At times, the leather is sweeter and spicier with carnation, cinnamon and labdanum, at times it is more earthy and green with oakmoss, rose, vetiver and patchouli. M is potent, unified yet multi-faceted, and unforgiving. It projects over the river and through the woods, and it lasts all the way to grandmother's house. Look out, grandma! The wolf is on his way. M is a dark, masculine, and seductive character who is known by a letter instead of his full name; that is the gravitas of his mysterious, alluring personality. Spicy sweet, smoky, salty, earthy, LEATHER. The florals add to the incense quality of the spices, but all in all this is a leather-centered fragrance. Where would a cowboy be without his cows? I would ride off into the Sunset smelling this on my skin. If only fairy tales were real.

Puredistance M is seemingly the most popular release from this house that I’ve not actually tried on skin until now. M is an interesting leather scent with spicy and herbal touches, a classy cold-weather-leaning, stereotypically-masculine-but-still-fairly-unisex. It feels balanced and fine-tuned, with some citruses in the opening and a reasonable dose of florals throughout, though what it mainly feels like is a leather/cinnamon/vetiver/vanilla blend, quite delightful being sweetly-modern yet referential to powerhouse late 20th century fragrances, as well. Simply put, I’m a fan and would wear this often. It reminds me vaguely of Bvlgari Man in Black and I’d largely use it the same way, though M is a bit more refined, albeit still in the same ballpark in terms of scent profile. M is highly dense and rich, which it surely better be, as its pricing is pretty much to the point that one needs to be smitten with it in order to consider buying it at its retail cost: $590/$325/$190 for 100/60/17.5ml at Luckyscent. 8 out of 10

Not a review, but rather my take on the Puredistance M and Fetish Pour Homme comparison. While they definitely share the same DNA (and nose), I find them quite different in terms of texture and refinement. M is pure class, incredibly smooth, and sophisticated. A grown-up scent, poised and elegant. Fetish is more abrasive and rough around the edges, more of a bully, and on my skin in particular, very Frankincense heavy. On paper, I can tolerate Fetish but on my skin, I can't stand it and have to scrub it off. Something in the base that is used to create that smoky accord is incredibly off-putting to my nose and almost gives me a headache. M is not smoky, but rather a bit dusty and spicy, more ambery and warm. One of the smoothest leather perfumes, if not the smoothest I have tried. If you want a super classy masculine leather perfume, go for M. If you enjoy that DNA, but want something rougher and smokier, go for Fetish. I much prefer M.

M has become a holy grail amongst perfume collectors, a shining unicorn which has become painfully difficult to find. To finally have an official sample of it is thrilling, I finally understand the fuss. This perfume is absolutely out of this world, almost unspeakably good; easily one of the best things I’ve smelled this year. It’s rather sharp and almost herbal, slightly green in the opening, but this soon becomes swallowed by an outrageously spicy top note of cinnamon and rugged musk. The cinnamon and clove is in your face unapologetically, as the thick, sappy labdanum-based leather accord punches you in the throat. Yes it’s heavily inspired by Bel Ami, but it does it so much better, I’m unashamed to admit. This is Bel Ami for the elite 1%. Roja’s Fetish Pour Homme is also brilliant, but this feels even filthier and lacks the zingy lime in the top. M is god-tier perfume.

M is my favourite perfume of this collection. It is leathery but at the same time very balsámic. The opening is a bit more citrusy with a very subtle flowery touch. But Soon all the creamy and balsámic experience begins and It lasts for lot of hour... Labdanum, leather, vetiver... I think these are the notes i get the most! M is very intense and the quality is evident. For me It is very similar to valentino uomo intense with a soft touch of gentleman edp by givenchy, although with much better quality and performance. The performance a is just grate with very good longevity and sillage. The perfume is intense, sweet and dense so i think It is better for cold weather and for night. This reminds me so much of another perfume I have smelled. Given that this baby retails at a nice 10 € per 1 ml, it would of course be highly relevant for my brain to recall which one it is. And it will, eventually. It always does. This is fantastic. Cinnamon-leather-labdanum goodness topped off with a salty citrus. Even before I looked this perfume up, just smelling what came out of the sample vial, I thought "expensive". As a woman I'd feel a bit out of place in a car with a man who wears this, but I would definitely wear this in a car with a guy. I don't go on dates with James Bond... I *am* James Bond. ;)

The best masculine scent ever made and roja knew it so he put a ridiculous price on it, and Bc it has expensive ingredients to of course Yes, it does have a bel ami vibe to it, but this is its big brother with oud. Ten times better in terms of scent and quality and longevity, though I have the vintage formulation and it's a beast mode performer too. Yes. This is worth the coin. I love it!!!!!! But if you have the vintage beastmode juice from Hermes bel ami I wouldn't get mad at you if you passed. This is worth smelling if you get the chance though either way

This is a stunning fragrance by Roja Dove, perhaps the best he ever made along with Diaghilev, and it's a real shame it was discontinued. Very hard to find now. I was lucky that I snagged a bottle of it from Joyvoy 2 weeks before it was sold out. This is easily the most beautiful, complex and well-blended perfume in my collection. It smells very expensive, spicy and lasts for a good 20 hours plus.

Uber masculine. Not for the faint of heart. Amazing projection, amazing longevity. Opens with a freshness of lemon which is very fleeting. Quickly becomes a spicy woody. Cinnamon, cinnamon, cinnamon! So spicy. As it dries down the woody base comes in with hints of vanilla. The dry down is amazing. Less is more with this one. Best worn in cooler weather. Worth every penny...the hype is real...

I was really excited to try this and when I got the chance I was......so disappointed. I found this to be more about spice (esp. cinnamon) and thick tannic leather with no chypre elements. I gave it time to dvelop but in the end I had to scrub. A cloying mess to my nose

This stuff smells, literally, just like Roja Dove Parfumes fetish, which makes sense because he also concocted Puredistance M before he started his own fragrance line. I sampled fetish and Puredistance M side by side and they are pretty much the same. In my description of Roja's fetish fragrance I call it, "great stink" or in Puredistance M's case I'll call it "sweet stink". This fragrance is very appealing but yet off putting at times. The right person with the right body chemistry could make this stuff smell amazing. If you like animalic scents and sweet scents then this could be a winner for you. I tried this on test trips the first time and I swear the projection is amazing. If you walked into a room, people will smell you and the question then becomes - will they like it? It can turn people on as easy as it can turn some people off. This is a risky scent for me personally. I wouldn't blind by this but I can honestly say its very well blended like all of Roja Dove's fragrances. From start to finish its almost like a beaver went to a Turkish bath and came out smelling damn good. Its a bizarre description but its almost what its like. Put it this way, when the beaver leaves the bath he'll be the best smelling beaver around but he'll still smell like a beaver. This is something a lumberjack would wear if he was going out with his lady... I say "his lady" because she could've easily never became his lady if he wore this on their first date. My advice to the wear of this scent is wear it during colder months. Try it before you buy it. A little bizarre and complex but good for it. Lemon and Bergamot zest together with a spicy cinnamon opening which is very unusual but it works. Almost comes across as a cinnamon spiced Earl Grey tea. In the dry down about 90 minutes in, those zesty notes are all but gone and you have a dry spiced wood heavy base with lots of cloves and cinnamon. What was once Earl Gray is now a woody Chai on top of understated leather and is a full on masculine scent. This one seems to last a very long time and has fairly heavy but not absolute beast projection and suits winter I'd say. That said even with the fact that it is extrait concentration taken into account, it is shockingly expensive. edit: I have Fahrenheit Absolute too. I have no idea why a below review says they have a strong resemblance, they are completely different in scent, development and longevity. The only thing I would agree with is they are both more suitable for cold weather, especially M. edit again: I prefer Fetish out of the two of these, it is a bit more energetic than the smoothness of M and has a bit more a leather tone than the extreme spiced tone of M.

It's nice... and I would certainly wear it, but there are similar fragrances by other houses that are just-as-nice (and more-affordable). That being said, I'm surprised to find a note of young patchouli peeking through here- it's almost as if both vintage/aged patch was used with a touch of young patch, those piney/minty topnotes diffused with black pepper, cumin, and birch tar. The effect works and accentuates the leathery vibe, it just surprises me. Or perhaps a 10-year patch was used instead of a luxurious 20? Either way, I'm definitely not on the Roja Dove groupie-list, and think the guy is over-confident of his own work- kind of like a former superstar ending up in Las Vegas as a lounge-singer, full of himself and becoming lazy. Similar effects can be found in SL Ambre Sultan and Arabie, Profumum Roma's Patchouly- or even vintage Organza Indecence... "Like", but not remarkable enough for a "love".

I managed to get a bottle of the first Bel Ami formulation, but for me it is too austere and thus I was not wearing it often. But by layering or even mixing it with Puredistance M is what I personally wanted from Bel Ami – M makes it rounder, more elegant and youthful, while keeping it casual vintage style chypre. By itself M is good. I really appreciate how it changes over time. It is fun and sexy fragrance, even though eventually it gets a bit boring. The whole story about James Bond does not excite me at all. The fragrance has a potential to take you to a less cliche world than that of the 007. And the price is too high. So prefer to layer it, rather than to wear on it itself. 7/10

After a leather-rose opening, it settles down into a lovely rose-oud or rose-patchouli thing. It is not original. It is not superior to its competition. There is no reason to buy this. You could purchase four superb perfumes in any olfactory category for the same money. Or you could blow the cash on this one, and help to inflate the ridiculous price bubble we see in niche perfumes. I'd rather support a perfume house whose product makes a bigger impression than does its price.

I wish I could say I don't like it, but I actually do! Very well blended. It's sensual, warm and inviting. At first, when I sprayed it I couldn't smell much; then it came to life slowly but surely. still, not a "beast" in any way imo. Not getting much leather, though. To me it's all about labdanum, patchouli and spices. Yes, I do think it's overpriced. But if the universe sends me some baqshish, I will definitely get it!

This is one potent scent! If you love leather centred fragrance than do try this. It's fine quality leather along with a whole lot of spice and resin. The oak moss, clove and carnation give a big spicy kick. The resins keep it warm and enveloping. I can't say it develops much on me. It's perfectly unisex. A great cold weather scent. Good longevity and sillage.

Good perfume, leathery with a good lemon opening. Roja Doves Fetish does come to mind, but only briefly, where that takes a turn towards smokiness and spice M's turns more towards vanilla and labdanum and thus feels much more like an oriental. Of the two I prefer Fetish which I find much more interesting and more interesting in development.

I’m late to the game on this gem. First thought is that this is a fantastic fragrance “story” that unfolds in several chapters. 1. Citrus 2. Clove/slight leather 3, Cinnamon/leather 4. Balsamic/leather. This is Guerlain’s Derby with better ingredients and less linearity. A great leather.

Dove's a marketing strategist rather than a perfumer and has used some of his insider knowledge to position his own scents (the Haute Parfumerie) very effectively, especially luring rich tourists. It seems that the otherwise excellent Puredistance line has contracted this marketing air in regards to this fragrance which relies more on the myth rather than the scent itself. Despite all that and the always evident hallmarks of Dove (ludicrously expensive, retro, pseudogrand, unoriginal) Puredistance M isn't half bad a perfume a nicely done spicy, aromatic leather with a satisfying, good quality woody drydown.

I would say, don't take the advice of Dr1414 below and save your money.Puredistance M isn't that great and to test a perfume on a piece of paper shows a basic lack of knowledge.I thought only taxfree customers did this kind of thing??😁 I can agree that Fetish pour homme is challenging, but in a good way.When Dr1414 complains that he needs to scrub it of, its a sign of absence of sophistication.Don't get me wrong ,i don't blame him.

This really is a touch heavier Bel Ami, probably a vintage formulation would be exactly this. A good leather scent but Roja Dove is not worth the absurd 5 times the price of Bel Ami. Not worth it. You can buy yourself Bel Ami and Tuscan leather and layer those which would be nicer, and still have pocket money. Unless you're filthy rich Arab and only care to spend the maximum amount of money don't bother.

Lasts about 10 hours, projection 2 h. 3 meters, but most people will not like the smell. Not worth the money! Rating 5/10 My rating was mostly influenced by the price for what it offers.

Smokey, leathery, sweet, floral and spicy all at the same time. There are so many clashing notes in this fragrance that it never hits a harmonizing accord for me. Conjured up memory of a symphonic orchestra tuning their instruments just before beginning a concert. Harsh, out of tune and headache inducing. Leather Smokey (oakmoss, patchouli) Sweet (vanilla) Floral (jasmine, rose) Spicy (Cinnamon, clove) It seems as though the perfumer couldn't make up his mind as to what type/genre of fragrance he wanted to make, so he decided upon making in all in one. A typical Roja Dove aromatic chypre with striking similarities to the perfumers own Fetish. The perfume opens with notes of lemon and bergamot. The heart is rose, jasmine and vanilla. The perfume settles on a dense powdery base of cinnamon, oakmoss, geranium, labdanum, patchouli, vetiver, synthetic musk and oakmoss. Overall a pleasant unexceptional unisex scent with moderate sillage and good longevity. But unfortunately very overrated and way overpriced. Not worth the hype.

Had a chance to sample this at the local store. This has a strong resemblance to Christian Dior Fahrenheit Absolute - Leather, intense spice, smokey. Absolutely not fresh like some have mentioned. It's more suitable for cold weather (not for tropic countries). No doubt about its longevity and projection. Not too sure how much I want this to be projected though. Smells like India. 6/10

Good artists copy, great artists steal. I bet that’s Roja’s motto. I sometimes suspect, he doesn’t really create perfumes, he just pick those beloved vintage perfumes, and replace their materials with the most expensive materials that he can boast about.

So it's roja dove up to the old tricks. Take a great classic, bump up a few notes and charge a fortune. Guess what? I paid $39 for a 100ml of heritage by guerlain. Heritage is way better. Plus, it's guerlain a idea.

I get ALOT of cumin. Makes me feel uncomfortable. Pass.

There's nothing "master perfume" about this brand, just marketing! Among the most disappointing fragrances out there. Save your money! Smells like motor oil, and the pricing is just due. Trust me on this!
