Jasmin Nuit

Sweet syrupy white floral with a nutty gourmand base. The initial spray is intense and may be cloying to some. But if you enjoy existing in your own cloud of syrupy sweetness this may be for you. It almost has a candy-like quality, and has the typical strong alcoholic profile of modern day department store perfume. If you are not picky about smelling genaric this could be a great budget option for the casual perfume-wearer. Apply lightly if going into a crowded setting.

This is a great scent but, like the others in the discovery set, not original. This reminded me of Valentino Voce Viva. It’s a familiar scent profile (white florals over a sweet vanilla base - it says tonka but to me it reads as vanilla) so I’m sure that also smells like other beauty counter crowd pleasers that I can’t recall atm. It’s $50 at Quince so less than retail for the scents it’s copying. Unlike some of the others in the discovery set, the dry down doesn’t degrade the overall scent profile - it stays pretty consistent for a couple hours or more. The notes say tuberose but it’s not a bublegummy tuberose like My Way. It doesn’t even smell like Jasmine absolu, not to me. White florals, broadly. Based on the name, you might think it is trying to copy Jasmine Noir by Bulgari but it’s not - it’s more of a day scent, bright but warm, not rich/violet/night. It’s a pretty girl scent and, I think, safe for public spaces or gifting.
