Black XS for Her Eau de Parfum

This smells like 2007 to me, I know this is a rerelease of the EdT from 2007 but from memory, this really doesn't smell all that different at all, albiet maybe a bit stronger, that being said though, its been a while since I have smelt the original EdT First whiff of this is like smelling mens aftershave but with a feminine twist I think the cacao is what gives the opening this dark,earthy and slightly masculine feel, the aftershave-y side subsides and reveals dark floral notes with some sourness from the cranberries, the vanilla and the massoia wrap up the base and add some warmth which helps prevent the sour notes from becoming too tart and bitter. Whenever I smell this I think of Avril Lavigne, pop-punk princesses, it feels youthful and rebellious to me but it also doesn't smell out of place on anyone that wears it, its a scent that moulds to the wearer and thats what I like so much about this one, its also to my nose, not very sweet or overly fruity but it does feel very cloying in the heat, so a sure fall/winter and early springtime scent in my opinion. Longevity and silage are decent, 8 hours of wear with a moderate silage from 3 spritzes and I love the really unusual cacao/woody trail it leaves, its not groundbreaking but its definately a lovely, well made scent and I'd also say its quite unisex, possible future repurchase. Oh I also love how the bottle looks so dark and like a potion bottle

I have absolutely no idea how to describe this perfume but I like it. It smells so different but it is perfumey.Its so well blended that no specific note stands out.Upon first spray is a strong alcohol but it could be because the batch of my bottle is over 4 years old but it dissipates quickly leaving the lovely perfume scent.Projection could be better so I suggest over spraying this one. My review is probably useless for someone deciding if they want it but I think this is a good blind buy. Personally I love anything sweet and musky, this perfume is not that yet I like it.It was a blind buy for me and i'm pleasantly surprised. I will be trying the EDT version next.I will say this, the perfume has a nice sex appeal, I think it would be great for date nights, clubbing that kind of atmosphere, its enthralling and seductive. Update: I had my boyfriend smell it he said it smells like something he could wear, I took another whiff and it is a bit unisex but there is a perfumeyness to it that still makes it feminine in my opinion.To put it in words its like a cologne for women. Edit: As much as I love this the silage and projection is very poor. Despite the age of my bottle I have many perfumes that are older and they have maintained their lasting power. This performs like an edt I get around 3-4 hours of wear. For the price this really isnt worth it but because I love it so much I would repurchase.

OOOOh I like this one! Very much if Dior Poison Girl were a vampire/alt chick. Or what I imagine Effy Stonem smells like. It's got a slightly fruity composition - at first spray it's a tad bit generic but nice bc it's a blast of tart fruits and some spicy notes. However when it dries down on my skin the cocoa comes out and changes it completely. It becomes this slightly smokey, almost wilted rose smell. There's vanilla but it's overpowered by the smokey dusty rose note, so it's sweet but also edgy. I know there's no incense in here but on my skin it definitely smells like a chocolate-vanilla scented incense stick, like the ones you can get at smoke shops. Doesn't last long or project much, but I like it all the same. If you want a clubbing fragrance that isn't Born in Roma or Black Opium and want something with a *slightly* gothic twist, go with black XS. This prob isn't half as mysterious as Black XS potion or the EDT, so I'm waiting to try those but I'm v happy with this one! Another successful blind buy :D

I love the XS line. My signature used to be Black XS EDT, and now I moved to EDP because it's almost impossible to find the EDT version in my country. EDP still have those delicious, elegant, sparkly notes of the original one. I love them. The main essence of Black XS still lives in this newest version. I like EDP version so much and it's as long-lasting as the old one on my skin. EDT used to be a bit stronger because of the patchouli, I miss that, but it's not a reason enough to make me dislike EDP. I like it SOOOOOO much as well and sandalwood works awesome in the blend. As I said, it's my signature fragrance. If it wasn't good enough, I would have chosen another fragrance instead, but I didn't (and this comes from a die-hard fan of EDT version). My only wish is that EDT and EDP could coexist in this same universe (will I have to ask Dr. Strange if that universe does exist? lol). I would happily have both EDT and EDP in my collection.

I love the edt of this since I was a little child and now this is my current signature scent. It starts with a gorgeous sweet and sour berry tamarind combo and dries down darker to a rosy cacao and lastly to a warm woody scent. My skin tolerates this scent pretty well since I am in my early 20s but many others do find it very sweet, I totally get it. However, the performance is moderate. I cannot smell the scent on me few hours later even others do unfortunately. I feel like paco rabanne wanted to modernize this scent but it just lacks performance. I recall the edt has a much better perfomance than this. Still good for intimate moments, date nights and maybe to a club. My boyfriend likes the scent on me.

For anyone who likes Black Opium, this is vey similar. It's a very moody, seductive night time fragrance that screams "fuck me" to put it mildly! It projected at arms length for about 5 hours on me before sitting closer to the skin. Sillage isn't huge but will definitley turn heads when you're out, especially if that's your goal or you're out on the prowl. If you're going out on the town for the night and don't mind carrying a small bottle in your purse and reapplying, then it would be worth it for the smell. If you're looking for something more beast mode, then probably not worth it. I have a full bottle of it and will decide at a later date whether I will repurchase again.

This smells like a woman who gets what she wants. Playful, seductive, femenine, mysterious... I can't even describe how much I love this one. It is one of my favourites. I recommend to wear this on special ocasions but I'd wear it everyday since I'm not intimidated to wear fragrances like this on a daily base. 05/19/23 EDIT: I have to day that I would wear this if I was 30-35 but I am only 24 and it may be a little bit more mature for me. Even tho, this fragrande is so good!

love love LOVE this perfume, i was recently given it as a gift and well, didnt like the perfume at first but i tried again a few days later and realised that Black XS is one of the very little perfumes that match my overall vibe, its very woody and sort of dark, great price, but can also be used in almost any situation, at work, being a hooker, winter, fancy dinner, etc.. Overall love.

As far as I understand, there is an EDT - the original - and an EDP - later version. I got this, the EDP. It's got a moderate to weak silage but an alluring fragrance that I cannot define. Fresh and spicy, slightly masculine but feminine, harsh and sweet altogether. The fragrance evokes me a sexy woman dressed in a tuxedo smoking a cigarette. Simply put: I love it.

I don't find this version of Black XS a great success. The old version (EDT of 2007) is much more interesting. This one is too flat and its longevity and projection are mediocre for an EDP. Although I find the EDP bottle more beautiful and classier, the EDT scent is sexier, spicier, and even more intense! The Patchouli really makes all the difference. 6/10

Of all the fragrances I've tried this is the most beautiful, I can't find the right words to describe this perfection! It's my new signature scent and I hope it won't be discontinued...in comparison with the OG this is softer and more rounded without losing its dark, fresh and sparkling notes...what a beauty!

Oh! How much i love chocolate! This is a really seductive perfume with the cocoa note prominent among the notes. It's a little bit heavy and masculine but it doesn't bother me. I love it and i put as a signature scent. It always escorts me in my nights out and i find it unique.

When this scent is mixed with cold winter air its wonderful. I think that it also smells better on textile than skin. Overall i like this very much. It has something addictive in it.

I've had this perfume for 4 days now and I am absolutely obsessed. Your first introduction to this scent is very spicy, very peppery with the smallest hint of sweet violets and vanilla, but as you let the scent dry down the pepper and spice notes seemingly disappear, paving the way for the sweetness of this perfume. While I just ranted about how much I adore this perfume I do have a few bones to pick, the first being the longevity and sillage and the second being the mishap that resulted in me owning this perfume. Despite being an EDP the scent barely lasts on both the skin and clothing, even after I've applied lotion and vaseline. Maybe it's because I only purchased this 4 days ago and am yet to let it properly macerate but it's just so weak and can only be smelled when you are extremely close to wherever it has been sprayed. Now for the second critique of this perfume, I originally bought this at Priceline because I saw it on sale for $75aud and I saw the bottle which me and my friends agreed encapsulated everything about me, but the problem is, that bottle I saw is the EDT version of the bottle, the beautiful gothic, vampiric scene-ish bottle with the embossed rose and white rose above the old english-esque font. For $75 I was not gonna let the perfume that summed me up as a person so well go, so I caved and bought it, only to find out that version of the bottle was not inside. You could only imagine the disappointment I felt after seeing it. The next day I went all the way back to that Priceline to see if I could get that bottle only to be told by the employee that the bottle I saw was the EDT version, which they don't even sell, and was also told that the brand had specifically requested that the EDT bottle was used for the tester. For me this is gonna be one of those childish grudges I forever hold against Paco perfumes because while I adore it with my heart and soul, it's just annoying knowing I spent $75 on a perfume that lowkey sucks for an EDP.

This is absolutely delicious. For about an hour, then it seems to vanish, that or i very quickly get nose blind I'm not sure which. The violet, cocoa and wood give it an almost edible, mouthwatering just delicious milky quality to it and kind of reminds me of eating chocolate truffles dusted in cocoa powder. In about 2010, I bought one of those Stitch no__ perfumes, they were dupes of designer scents and each one had its own number. It was no22 I think; in a black bottle with a silver lid and it smelled almost identical to this only without the explosive spicy berry opening. I've looked everywherefor it since then so that I could get whatever one it was a copy of and I think I've finally found it so I'm happy about that. But going by the reviews of the edt I was expecting a thick syrupy spicy sweet bomb but it really isn't too heavy. Even though it seems to fade quickly when i smell my wrist, I get regular wafts of milky spicy vanilla when I move for another 2 hours or so. I'm really happywith the smell itself but quite dissapointed with the projection and longevity

I was gifted a large bottle of this recently due to my love of the original EDT version. Sadly, it is not as good. Still a nice fragrance in its own right, but less sweet and fresher/lighter than the EDT, it seems more 'modernized' than the original... something many people will probably prefer. I, however, am not one of them. It feels as though this incarnation of Black XS has lost some of that hypnotic, undeniably sexy feel that made the original so delicious. It also doesn't seem to last as long on me, which is odd. This will still be used up, there's nothing 'wrong' with the EDP in its own right... but the EDT will always be what I reach for when I'm going out to a concert, on a date or somewhere special. If you found the EDT too heavy but liked the overall feel, try this instead.

I bought this, thinking it was the pure xs because I just didn’t read what it said properly. I must say I’m really not mad at it I have owned pure xs in the past, and it was pretty much a almost salted caramel sugar gourmand type scent so when I finally realised that its black xs when I sprayed it...it was a little bit of a shock. However, this is dark alluring and very sexy I’m not mad at all and I think I prefer this one. I haven’t tested longevity on this one yet but I would say Sillage is quite moderate... I would not say it’s very strong.

This was a blind buy as I enjoyed the pure xs. First spray I get the cranberry, fresh and juicy. As the fragrance starts to settle after a minute or two the cocoa brings an ever so slight bitterness, not in a bad way, the vanilla is quite soft, but there. Sandalwood brings a soft woodyness , which I feel helps balance the scent, without it I think it would be way too sweet. This, to me, is a lovely balanced perfume, easy to wear, day and night, all year. Longevity could be better as well as silliage.

Black XS is a very sexy berry perfume which is exactly the color of the bottle. The scent starts with a light berry then gradually deepens into a sexy dark berry perfume with a touch of brightness. It doesn't go all the way to "black" but it achieves the goal of being dark enough. Good for all seasons. Any age appropriate. For reference, Black XS would play in the same speakeasy backroom as Amethyst Exquise.

Its cacao with tamarind and vanilje. Its really sweet. Tamarind can be sour or sweet. It exists both in that fruit. Ithink you should give a try to this perfume and try several times (like around 10 times), to know exactly if you like this perfume or not. It not the typical fruity sweet. This is different and has its own charm. It has nice projection and longevity is better on clothes.

I don't know what everyone else is spaying but this is strong on me. 4 spritzes in the morning, and still can smell it when I get back home from work. Ok, it's not a beast, but it performs decently 🤷 for me it's nice for days when I am not sure if I wanna go fruity or vanila. It's kinda sweet and sour, like chocolate and orange cake if that makes sense 😅

I was so excited to try this fragrance. Based on the notes, I thought it would smell incredible. Well, I am disappointed :( it's not that I don't like it- it's nice. But I had imagined it as something dark and mysterious which it isn't. It's actually fruity with some kind of a soapy note, not what I expected.

I can’t smell this on myself after 30 minutes. Other people have said they could smell it on me but what’s the point in a perfume if I can’t smell it. I can smell even some of my cheaper perfumes on myself after a few hours. Not worth the price. Such a shame as it’s a lovely scent.

This does smell like cacao covered cranberries! There’s not a lot of sweetness in this and it’s not very sexy but I still like it. I’m hoping this will thrive in colder weather cause right now, in mid warm weather (spring), it feels quite bland tbh. Not giving up hope tho!

On my opinion, this fragrance is a dupe with Agent Provocateur Fatale Intense. Scent is very similar, dark red berries, intensive, although not many listed notes are the same, but they sound similar. Also, they both warm scents with quite a strong projection.

To me, this fragrance is seductive without being overpowering. It's spicy and fruity without being too sweet, and has a predominantly woody dry down on my skin. A great choice for date night! :)

I used to have this perfume 10 years ago when I started leaning into my alternative and edgy style on my teens. Very youthful punk but I outgrew this perfume. Very iconic as a starter.

Expected more..a bit dissappointing..not very good sillage and projection is non existant. Maybe she needs to macerate a bit...we will see

This is another one I have a love/hate relationship with. A very dark and sensual perfume, but at the same time it feels quite dated. A very strong perfume with good longevity, it smells better after it settles for a couple of minutes. What I get most is the cacao and cranberry, and it has a quite powdery quality to it because of the violet, it smells mostly of its top notes with a dash of cacao and a woody background, but you can detect each note singularly. Although very spicy and strong, I also find it incredibly sweet, and that's what usually bothers me from it because it tires me after a couple of hours wearing it, it can feel quite cloying. Overall, I still enjoy it especially in cold weather, but it's not always the very first fragance I reach out for.

I bought this thinking as an EDP it would be stronger than the EDT. I had the EDT, and the smell was really lovely, however it didn’t last on my skin. I gave that one to my granddaughter. Fast forward 12-13 years and I buy this one, hoping for the best (blind buy). Alas, the first smell is really nice, fruity, berries......and like the EDT, gone in 60 seconds. It’s so annoying to read the things people say on this site about different fragrances, yet I just don’t have the skin chemistry for them to last. I waste so much money on perfumes that just don’t perform for me 😞

This perfume confuse me. Its very generic, its a mehh for me. The tamarind is present together with cramberries but its nothing out of this world. Its something "different" but at the same time very "generic". If you want something different because of the bitter tamarind, taste this perfume. But its nothing out of this world. You can confuse it with another one.

Very neutral and safe scent. It’s not bad, but it’s not great or something to write home about, either. Reminds me of other generic scents you’d find on sale at Ross or Marshall’s. It’s like a creamy, fruity/ floral. A million other perfumes smell like this. Olympea and pure xs are way better. This would probably be perfect for a high schooler.

Achei que ao usar me sentiria rock Star mas me senti musiquinha de elevador: breve e esquecível.

6 sprays and I can barely smell this. I meant to buy the Pure XS. Still thought this one would be decent. It’s sour and boring. Total waste of money. I have the large bottle and only a little bit has been sprayed if anyone wants to swap for anything. I’m in upstate NY

I was looking for the original Black XS for her and was surprised to find this scent instead. Initially I thought it was just a new look for my favourite perfume and shrugged it off. I prefer the old bottle but it wasn't a big deal. Then a few days ago I was on holiday and missed my scent, decided to spray some of it on in a local store. Much to my surprise, and dismay, it was something completely different. I didn't recognise the original in it at all and I really didn't like how it smelled on me. I showed my sister and she didn't like it either. Now I'm sure this is the perfect scent for someone out there but it is definitely wrong for me. I'm so disappointed. I hope the original will still be available for purchase (preferably in the Netherlands) because the bottle I have now isn't going to last me forever. I'm not sure exactly what this one smells like but it is very floral and kind of fresh in a citrussy way, maybe it's the cranberry. The original is very dark and intense on me without any sourness so this new one feels more like I accidentally wore my mum's perfume. Fortunately it seemed to fade a lot more quickly than the original too.

For me this is a prime example of how some companies kill good fragrances. The original Black XS from 2007 is a strong, oriental, sweet and sexy scent on my skin, with floral undertones, that lasts at least seven hours on my skin. I recently tried this newer verson of Black XS and, at least on me, its a soapy, with a slight sweet facet, perfume. And after 2 hours, it was gone on my skin. For me, the lack of patchuli isn't the only difference from the original to this version, the company probably changed the proportions of the other notes and watered it down.

Personalmente lo encuentro demaciado fuerte de una me pateo la cara y se lo mostré a mi pareja e igual lo encontro fuerte incluso hasta masculino, el secado aunque mas suavecito me dio un poco de náuseas no por lo malo si no por que invade mucho, tire la prueba al basurero y la cocina estaba pero pasado al perfume. A mi no me gusto pero al que le gusta un perfume fuerte con arta personalidad que irradia un monton por es este.

It's pretty rare for me to dislike a fragrance but I couldn't stand this one as soon as I put it on me. I find the cranberry sickening, smelled like sour stale wine was spilled on me. Longevity is okay, 4-5 hours, sillage is pretty strong which on my case really didn't help. If this works on you then this would be a sexy, seductive scent. I would find it appropriate for all weather personally.

This perfume turned out to be too strong for my nose. It isn't that terrible but there is something that makes me revolt against this fragrance. Something woody. I do not recognize that ingredient. Sadly, this perfume is not for me. Anyway, I think others can wear it if they like it. It seems this perfume is ideal for the night time and winter.
