Fame

I’m not sure how so many people can refer to this as unoriginal or generic, yet the first two scents in the “reminds me of” section are knock-offs of this perfume. I’ve never smelled the knockoffs, but there’s nothing in my collection that smells like this. I am not getting the similarities to Alien Goddess. The only thing they have in common is that tropical vanilla base. Goddess is a sunscreen-esque coconut scent. Fame is a mango smoothie with a much more prominent sandalwood note in the base. They both have jasmine in them, but if you’ve ever smelled jasmine and sandalwood together, you’ll know that they give off a totally different smell than jasmine and vanilla. At least to my nose, it’s a much deeper and more sultry aroma. Fame starts off as a very intriguing tropical scent, it’s very warm and inviting with just the right amount of sweetness from the mango. It’s a juicy mango at first and then it starts to get creamy and slightly powdery from the sandalwood and the jasmine. Overall, I think this is gorgeous. It draws constant compliments, but that’s not why I wear it. I find it to be very unique and the longevity and sillage are incredible. I did compare this to Flowerbomb Tiger Lily and they are quite similar, but there is a prominent coconut note in FBTL that I’m glad isn’t in here because there is coconut in so many of the tropical perfumes out there. Which is again why I can’t understand why people are referring to this as generic. I wholeheartedly disagree. I will agree that you have to like mango to like this though. However, you do not have to like coconut to like this. It’s not a solar coconut scent by any means.

Ever since Avon’s Far Away Exotic was discontinued I’ve been on a quest to find a fragrance that could transport me to sunny shores and balmy tropical evenings. I’m overjoyed to have discovered this gem! it’s everything I hoped for and more. If you’re a lover of gourmand sweetness with a little personality - this fragrance will feel like coming home. One spritz and I’m swept away to a golden beach, rich with the scent of ripe mango, creamy vanilla and (though not officially listed) a whisper of coconut that lingers like a secret breeze. The addition of jasmine and sandalwood lends just the right amount of spice and warmth, grounding the sweetness in something richer, more sensual, and undeniably elegant. It doesn’t just smell like a holiday - it feels like one! A little moment of escape, bottled. The longevity is impressive. Lasts all day and lingers even longer on fabric. In fact, it’s so potent that I’ve learned to apply it with a light hand. More than a few spritzes and you risk overwhelming the room. I receive compliments whenever I wear it and the scent’s presence is both comforting and confidence-boosting. It’s a touch on the expensive side, but given its staying power, it’s surprisingly economical. A little truly goes a long way. For anyone in search of a fragrance that captures the essence of a tropical escape with sophistication and warmth, this one just might be your perfect match.

I definitely pick out coconut milk alongside the mango, so I don't know why it isn't officially listed as a key scent note anywhere - it's more noticeable then the mango on me. The bergomot blends closely into the mild mango, so separating them is a bit of a struggle. I want to be able to provide a wdetailed description of the floral heart of the perfume, but I can't; apart from a teensy amount of the lingering bergamot, there is just jasmine - my nose refuses to pick up on any other florals. The frankincense boosts the citrusy sense from the lingering bergamot, but it doesn't distract from the super-charged jasmine. Lots of reviewers find the florals powdery, but I find the blend very creamy, thanks to the longwearing coconut milk. The creamy base is something to delight sandalwood fans; there's plenty of sandalwood that is gently wrapped in vanilla and sprinkled with spice from the frankincense, which compliments the remaining mango & coconut beautifully. The frankincense notes come through a bit more fully as the jasmine fades, adding a touch of smokiness, and I also get a tiny pinch of salt too - a musk? Many reviewers find that Fame has pretty poor longevity on them, however the juice wears fantastically well on me; it's an all-day fragrance, and it doesn't become close to the skin on me. I didn't expect such a simple composition to wear so well, but it is really impressive.

I don't think that the name or bottle suit this soft, gentle & classically feminine fragrance; nowadays fame refers to reality stars & the social media crowd, which [coupled with the bottle] I think of as attention-grabbing, bright, youthful & modern, whereas the juice is smooth, timeless, ageless & elegant. For something I bought on offer, I'm very happy with Fame - however I will still be watching out for tasty discounts on Fame Parfum in the more distant future, as from my comparisons & [mostly gibberish] notes, Fame Parfum probably is the perfume which I'd previously tested that has a bit more complexity in the florals & bolder vibe with the richness of the incense - the fragrance names are close enough that I became confused over which was which somewhere along the line. Bonus round; Kayali Sparkling Lychee is simply fantastic to layer with Fame. Kayali Musk and Ariana Grande God Is A Woman also work really well with the key scent notes.

Fame is for warm weather, it THRIVES in the heat and the more heat your body can give this refined beauty, the better... **BIG TIP ON LAYERING FAME** My advice for getting the very most out of this often overlooked gem of a perfume, especially in the commercial and snobby world of fragrance where mall & commercial department store perfumes are snubbed.... is to buy a big tub of Sol De Janeiro "BOOM DIA BRIGHT CREAM" werid, but read on.... You have a hot bath, soak yourself in something tropical in your bath... then slather on the BOOM Dia Bright all over your body. When that cream has dried down (15 minutes) you go in with FAME and spray that everywhere. Spray FAME into air and walk right into it. Then, spray a small piece of cotton wool with FAME and put that in your bra. BOOM... the cream just excentuates that FAME tropical juice and it's luscious, very classy, sparkly and just so good 💕🌴💕

I feel like this scent is too sweet to be worn in summertime and spring. It is definitely wearable during daytime, but for me, this is a date night scent. Rich creamy mangoes, passionfruit, sugary vanilla and incense is all I get. Sweet, but not cloyingly sweet. Powdery base without the scent in itself being generic. It is different for certain and that's what I love about it. If a tropical perfume were ever meant for winter, this would be it. As for sillage, sadly on my skin it goes into an intimate scent within an hour or two. But I still really love it. It's really nice. Definitely not as mature as other perfumes, but also not as sweet and juvenile as Yara Tous. Somewhere in the middle ground, definitely intended for young women (and men alike if they desire to wear this super versatile scent) in their 20's. Super sexy and seductive in my opinion. Love it, can't go wrong with this.

I just picked up a gift set of Paco Rabanne Fame, from TJ Maxx yesterday after work! It was a blind buy, but I've really enjoyed the other PR fragrances that I've tried so far. I've been going to rack stores a lot, to buy fragrances for my fiance. She's definitely not a frag head like I am, but she appreciates that I'm really into it, and that I'm sharing this passion with her, and that I really consider her. The gift set was marked down twice, so it was only $39 for a 100 ml bottle, a 10 ml travel bottle, and a tube of scented lotion. I had to get it! They also have a gift set of just Viktor & Rolf Good Fortune fragrance, a 90 ml and a 10 ml travel bottle, for $80, that I might get next. We both really enjoy this fragrance so far, Fame. It has a really nice, uplifting aroma. I brought the travel bottle to work with me, and I really like it.

This PERFUME is AMAZING!!! Everyone keeps saying it doesn't have any MANGO, that the Jasmine over powers the fruit, etc etc. If it would only have mango you would then say it smells too much like fruit. If it had only Jasmine you would say it's too floral. I say you have NO VISION. This perfume smells SUPERB! It smells like ripe mango. You know, the kind that's literally dripping, ready to eat. With beautiful tones of red, orange a bit of yellow and hints of green.. That kind! The outside of a ready to eat juicy ripe succulent mango. Firewood warmed up milk with star anise and a bit of honey & juicy mango. That later settles into a delicious lavender jasmine green tea BOBA with milk and tapioca pearls. A very FANCY boba! Made with only the finest ingredients. Best if worn at night. Though it does last all day. BISOUS

The first time I tried it it took me to Lady Million, which I had it like 15 years ago. I was like, yes, Paco Rabanne signiture indeed lol maybe because of Jasmine. But they are different! I love the Mango here and give me Coconut vibes too. After some hours, I still feel the sweetness but not floral in my skin. It's really sweet but mature, not a girly sweetness. So I do not agree this scent is for young women. I liked this so much that I got the body lotion too for layering. I am looking for dupes with strong Mango scent, please suggest if you know some. I can't relate the bottle with the scent, it don't match at all! Lol EdP it's my favourite from the collection. 9.5/10

Received a free sample with a purchase and honestly liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Bottle is not my personal favourite but the juice is quite pleasant. If you want your perfume to smell like perfume and not like a literal fireplace or library or whatever the niche gods insist we should aspire to smell like instead, it's a good choice. If the performance was a little better I would definitely say this is signature-worthy. The mango adds freshness but it's really not too sweet or tropical, and the drydown is lovely. I probably won't be buying a full bottle myself because of the performance but I'll happily grab any free sample that comes my way.

This isn't normally a scent profile I'm attracted to as I usually prefer skin scents, clean minimalistic and soft, and although the white florals and vanilla in this make it more loud and streechy than I'm used to, I am really, really loving this!! There is just something so attractive and appealing about Fame!! It's quite sexy, and it smells absolutely amazing when you catch whiffs of it in the air. If I had to describe it in one word, it'd be "mesmerizing" Fame is sweet and creamy, cuddly yet a knockout. For those saying this is basic and generic, you're not wrong, but the milky mango sorbet aspect makes it memorable.

This is one I've noticed (because of the bottle), but never tried (also because of the bottle). I gave my husband a list of perfumes and told him to pick the one he most wanted to smell since we kinda hang out a lot and this was NOT on the list simply because I'd never put my nose on it. It smells REALLY good though. I love the mango vanilla vibe. Surprisingly subtle enough that you could really wear this year round if so inclined. Very glad he went off books and surprised me with something I never would have picked for myself, but now will probably be a permanent staple in my collection.

A lovely tropical perfume! I don’t typically go for fruity, especially tropical types, due to them being too cloying for every day wear. However, this is a lovely exception! To my nose, and on my skin, this is a juicy mango cream with a heavy dose of cozy powder. It settles nicely, and barely transforms on my skin. Which, I think is great honestly. It smells the same hours later as it did first spray. I am anosmic to vanilla, so I cannot say if it’s prominent here or not. Paco Rabanne perfumes seem to have this thick syrupy decadence to them, and Fame is no different.

Because the bottle looked ridiculous, I never even bothered to try it, but it’s probably the best perfume I’ve ever tried, or at least top 3 for sure. It’s creamy, sweet, and super attractive. I thought I hated tropical perfumes before I tried this. I like fruity scents but mango or anything tropical isn't really my thing but the juicy mango paired with that smooth incense note is just just too good. this is my most complimented perfume by far. edit: thanks to my lovely boyfriend, now it's my signature from now on, favorite mango scent ever!

Me encanta este perfume! no sé por qué tiene tantos comentarios negativos, he recibido muchos halagos cuando lo uso. Lo que más se siente es un mango jugoso, vainilla y un toque de jazmín. En mi piel dura bastante, y en la ropa mucho más. Es ideal para primavera y verano, es dulce y cálido... muy cómodo y agradable de llevar. Podría decirse que es una fragancia más que nada para jóvenes. Sé que a muchos no les agrada la botella pero a mi me gusta, me parece súper original y llama la atención. Este perfume es un 10 ! recomiendo.

If you like your perfume notes niche and esoteric, just move right along. Fame is the straightforward, tropical gourmand you need for summer. You won’t find this in the fragrance display of that hipster perfume influencer. It’s more like the humid, intoxicating sweetness in a hot girl’s filthy old car. Fundamental enough for fans of layering, I recommend pairing with tequila and kisses. Of course men go bananas for this. It’s universal enough for the first date, and naughty enough for your anniversary.

I was pleasantly surprised when I tested this perfume at the store. I ended up really liking it! By the look of the bottle I really didn't know what to expect but this perfume turned out to be a delicious mango with vanilla dry down. I don't really smell the florals they are there more so to round up the composition all I get is a soft gourmand. This is not a loud perfume and not too beachy so I can see this as an all year round perfume. But the bottle is hideous I don't know if I want to own it.

As you spray it, you get a tropical blast of mango. It's sweet, smooth, warm and very ambery. To my nose there's a persistent salty balsamic note that lifts it up from the warm tropical and floral base and that amplifies the bergamot note. This is what makes it different from Alien Goddes. The floral tropical part is similar, but AG is softer, creamier, coconutty and more delicate, sensual, for summer days. This one is fruitier, sharper and more balsamic, a bit sexier and edgy for summer nights.

Perfect summer scent for those who want to smell like a tropical beach girl. Especially for the soft spicy, sweet girls. The mango is so sweet and fruity but not overpowering and cheap like a mango body spray from so?... (for example). Definitely a feminine summer fragrance. Sure, wear it in the spring if it’s warm enough to go to the beach. However, I hate the bottle why is it so ugly and annoying to use? That’s just my opinion though since I like simple or vintage looking styles.

I am really glad I bought this perfume, the mango/citrus is a great opening, and the vanilla and incenses are a perfect base. Besides the very cute bottle, the lasting power of this perfume is really decent (especially on clothes) and the sprayer works quite well. This is a well blended perfume, and it would be a fun scent for work because it's not too overpowering and it would be nice to smell any time of the year. I'm impressed! Purchased from: Dillard's
