Invictus Aqua

Darn good if you ask me. I am still battling if this fragrance is my personality, but taking me out of the equation, I understand the hype compared to Invictus Aqua that is available now. First the longevity is good. I am currently going on 12 hours and the frag is very vivid and rich. IMO too many perfumers use cheap ozonic ingredients, and on my skin it smells like a wet dog. This started in that direction, but did a nice u turn. So I now question if my mind was reacting out of fear. The aquatic ozonic notes play with the berry notes nice in the beginning. But it feels alittle common and just on par with its competitors. However, what is does is play with those notes longer and gives a more natural experience that it competitors does not. The aqua amber recipe in the dry down definitely is nice yet powerful. Slightly salty. IMO this is where it completely breaks away from its competitors and the current Invictus. IMO this version is all three of the other Invictus fragrances well blended on artistic steriods and superior quality. There are other fragrances that comes to mind wearing this; Acqua Di Gio, Yves Saint Laurent. But I do like this better due the freshness and quality of ingredients. Its a better experience. It does what the great Creed Millesime Imperial does. It transports you. You sense the cool temperature change sniffing this fragrance. Is it worth the inflated price online? Yes! For a true collector that actively wears their collection, I can see this being a frequent reach. Now will I reach? Hmmmmmm. Why hmmmmm! Its very youthful. Paco gave the the under 25 crowd a artistic gem. It makes the older crowd hit a quick workout, get a clean hair cut, put on flops, suck in your stomach, and head to the beach. You know a fragrances is good when you see yourself in the designers vision. After reading my review I'm reaching. This is an alternative to Creed MI. Its not a duplicate by any means, and it is more in the vein of Creed Erofia due to the saltiness. I feel I can wear this in the same type of occassions as MI, but due to the details of the occassion I have a choice.

Invictus Aqua is what the original Invictus should have been. Here the bubble-gum sweetness is toned down a lot and the citrus with marine notes are put into center stage (reminds me of citrus mineral water mixed with some fizzy drink). Still synthetic and generic, yet it is so appealing when it's in the air, definitely a crowd pleaser. Don't smell it too close, as it is strong even though it is aquatic. For the great performance (especially for a summer fragrance) and the likability factor, you cannot go wrong. Get it while you can as it has been discontinued. EDIT: I wore this whilst working out. I found what makes it last so long. Once the citrus, violet leaf, woody and peppery notes dissipate, you are left with the 'sea water ' note. Now I immediately recognized what it was supposed to be. Calone. It smells like water spray at a stormy sea (a bit bitter, salty and gives that mist type of atmosphere). As calone is a long lasting component (about 10h), I believe that is why the 'sea note' is actually calone. Other notes burn out quicker, but calone stays on for a long time. This can be found in Acqua di Gio, L'Eau d'Issey, Cool Water, Every Storm a Serenade and some others. This edit is not a critique or a praise, just a side note for those who like some trivia.

@oceansoflorewi Not Impossible yes invictus aqua is fresher but the characteristic bubblegum DNa is what makes invictus a compliment monster. I personally love aqua and Og equally but I actuall get more compliments with the OG but aqua still is super easy to like by other people but fresher does not always mean more compliments. Invictus is fresh enough to not offense other people yet has this deep aquatic bubblegum feeling. Aqua has more citrusy salty vibe which is good but can't beat the deep aquatic bubblegum. Calling Invictus sickenly sweet and then telling aqua is iconic is absurd because they have 75% similarity. You cant love a fragrance that resembels the one you hate 75%. You mostly got affected by the hype and other peoples reviews and comments so you thing aqua is a superstar while Og is teribble. I know people who won't even know the difference in the air when comparing both aqua and Og. Really ABSURD!

was very excited about this one. And then I smelled the original and this one side by side. In all honest, they are the same. Aqua has more lighter opening, more citrus but it is the same smell. Dries down quickly and it's the same Invictus. I love Invictus so I got the original cuz I think it smells better, stronger and longer lasting. The difference between the two don't justify the hype. If it was indeed quite fresher with only a bit of sweetness, and that it lasted like the original then totally yes. Current version... nope. Not worth it, especially now when the prices is going up like crazy!! It's the same Invictus, just add some sharp fresh yuzu. Still the original is the king so I went ahead and got myself another bottle. They dry down of the original is simply better smelling.

Disappointment. When it came out, I got really impressed cause it's not THAT synthetic, and childish-sweet as the original. And maybe I will not smell this on every second dude in the city. (Because it's a limited edition, and yes, not that sweet) I wore it all this summer, tons of compliments, sick performance. I thought this is going to be my signature summer scent, WHEN IT HAPPENED. In the middle of the winter I was walking around town, and I smelled this on another dude. And few minutes later AGAIN on another guy. Then I realized, this DNA is a champion, just like the original one (let's be honest it is, althought I HATE it). Many cheap brands copied this smell, so I don't want to wear it anymore. Short term relationship, killed by its own success. R.I.P.

This one has a. Fruity opening, salty drydown and not a cloying overlysweet mess. Ladies reactions are awesome with this one, but only for the first 2/3 hours because the longevity of this one is not that great. That's right, for me, atleast, I don't get the performance most people are claiming to get anyway.(Not saying it is bad! It lasts for 5h and projects for 2) I honestly don't understand why paco rabanne felt the need to reformulate this one on this new 2018 edition. 2016 is not only longer lasting, but it also smells better, with more character. The yuzu opening on this one is awesome and that unfortunately is missing on the new one. The new version is more marine and less fruity. Longetivity: 6 Sillage: 8 Compliments: 10 Smell: 8.5

Invictus Aqua is a marine, aromatic and woody fragrance. It was a long time since I used it that I had forgotten how much I like it. It has a very attractive citrus, ozonic opening. As time goes by, a light touch of pink pepper is perceived and a slightly salty aroma emerges (I suppose it is amber), but it never loses that marine and ozonic sensation. Its duration has been excellent, it has been 12 hours since I applied it and I still perceive it. For me it is one of the best marine fragrances, it is a pity that it has been discontinued, however the new Invictus Aqua 2018 has certain similarities, it is not as good as the 2016, but it can be a good replacement.

I have a bottle of the vet first batch (2015) and oh my, this is the real lady killer for the summer time. I have used this literally 6 times (mostly for trips to the beach) so my bottle is 95% full and since the performance is beast mode I usually apply two squirts and that's all. Of all those 6 time I've received compliments all 6 times crazy!!! This lasts all day long you get compliments from both men and women. Is you have the old 2015/2016 batch you just like me are one Lucky bastard. This is a 10/10 compliment magnet. I feel a sorry for all the guys our there who didn't had the opportunity to smell and but this gem before it got discontinued.

Had a chance to try 2018 version. More or less the same scent as original Aqua, but it seems to be bubblegummy, more sweet, not as sour or salty, in other words not as aquatic, feels more juicy. Bottle is nice, with a very soft bluish fade, I thought it is going to be darker as seen in fragrance presentation, but it is nice, yet I liked original frosted glass better. As first impressions goes, it is nice and slightly different with the same DNA, performance feels about the same, on clothes and paper strip it lasts a long time. A definite buy for summer when it hits the sale.

Changed my mind on this one. This is a grower guys, give it a chance, it will serve you well. Initial spray is delicious and sillage and longevity perfect. For me this smells much better than the original. Something in this remembers me of Mugler Alien (probably jasmine which is not listed in the Perfume Pyramid above but is listed on the original Invictus). Definitely a 8 for me now, i just ordered a backup bottle. 2016 Aqua is my all time favorite spring/summer fragrance. It ranks right up there with the best offerings from PDM, like Layton and Carlisle. I purchased the 2018 version and it doesn't hold a candle to 2016. I'm hoping PR will consider bringing it back. The yuzu and pink pepper notes just made it magical. I really wish I had gotten a couple of back up bottles. I refuse to pay the current prices on ebay and other outlets. Legend Spirit and Hawas just don't cut it for me. If paco rabanne released invictus aqua before the original, then they release the original as an aqua edp, Invictus og would actually get more love from this weird a*s community. Yes aqua is a nice fragrance but I still prefer the original because of that deep aquatic sweet vibe that aqua lacks. Performance is also better with the original and that is also another reason why the original would get more love if it was released later as a flanker. Keep looking for overpriced aqua bottles while I stick to the original bb.

Aquatic freshness in a bottle. I really liked this one and it killed me when it was discontinued when I had just finished my first bottle. It has been quite a while since I’ve last worn this but I can still remember vividly how the people around me adored this scent whenever I wore it. This bottle carried me through my late teen years and I loved it for its simplicity, crowd-pleasing nature, and confidence-inspiring profile. Would probably repurchase the latest one which is said to pick up where this left off.

A little less fruitier than Hawas and a little less in performance but still one of the best as far as designer warm weather frags. Hawas was my go to Summer scent last year so my decant of this is sufficient. These scents are obviously aimed at a younger crowd but some of us older guys love em as well. If you are in search for a loud,great performing designer scent then this a great option. Compliments should come with this one if you have any type of personality.

Reviewed without the price in mind. Juicy tart yuzu. Watery, salty marine accords. Sweet, uplifting, energizing and playful. Long lasting with great projection and a addictive sillage. If the Invictus type bubblegum DNA wasn't so played out in modern designer releases, this would genuinely be one the greatest aquatic designers of all time, up there with Acqua di Gio. And still to this day, there is not one clone that can lay a finger on this original 2016 release.

(2024 version) i have no idea whats 2016 ver was a like but this one is so good, it's so fresh, uplifting, its giving me so much good energy, something i cant describe, i am in love. Its third fresh fragrance which impress me so much after Platinium Egoiste and Bois Imperiale. Perfect for hot days, whoever compare this to legend spirit must have really bad nose. Longevity could be better i wish to see Invictus Aqua by Quentin Bisch ;) . 10/10 for me

Very harsh synthetic scent. It smells pretty cheap. The 2018 version smells nicer and better quality. This has very strong projection. It kind of stings your nostrils! The super strong synthetic nature of it reminds me a bit like something from Jacques Bogart. I personally like super strong fragrances, but TBH I don't enjoy the scent that much. I paid £54 for 60ml. I'm glad to finally have it and know what the scent is all about.

A nice light sophisticated fragrance , should you have problems with longetivity wearing this inland , try coastal areas I think that's what aquatic fragrances are made for , summer/spring I bet it will do wonders for you . I once owned the famous aqua di Gio and well inland it lasted for few hours to me but near the ocean you will incredibly feel it . Same thing with this one . I will definitely buy this one .

Finally got a sample of the 2016 version and compared it to my 2018 bottle. They really aren't that different. The openings are different. The 2018 is sweeter and is heavy on the violet making it more powdery, in the vein of Burberry Touch. The 2016 has more citrus and is much more ambery. The 2016 seems to perform a little better, even after all these years. I wanna try the new 2024 formulation.

Dived straight into this after reading the reviews. Very nice smelling fresh fragrance. Performance issues though like 99% of all fragrances bought in the UK. Id say no more than 2-3 hours longevity and minimal projection of 1-2 feet. This needs more power!!! Could be a real big seller if it lasted 6-8 hours. Still very nice for the warmer months. 8 out of ten for the scent 5 for performance
