Invictus Legend

Having reviewed some of the Phantom line, it's now time to move over to the Invictus line. Now the Invictus fragrances are something I do have some experience with. I've reviewed Aqua 2018, Aqua 2024, Platinum, and Victory Elixir. With all of them having been positive reviews, I'm hoping that Legend will continue the trend. I know it's discontinued, but if it's as good as I'm hoping, then I wouldn't mind hunting for it. Let's get into it. Scent: The opening is fresh, aquatic, and citrusy. The primary notes I get are sea notes, sea salt, grapefruit, and bay leaf. The strongest of the notes are the sea notes and sea salt. The sea notes open up the fragrance with a big blast of oceanic freshness. It is similar to what I got yesterday from the opening of Phantom Elixir, or another one of my summertime favorites, Invictus Aqua. The sea salt note follows closely behind and marries the sea notes accord to emulate the aroma of salty ocean spray. Not too heavy on the salt, just enough to give that impression of ocean water. Up next is the grapefruit and bay leaf. The grapefruit adds a supporting citrusy note, again very reminiscent of Invictus Aqua since it shares that grapefruit note. It's not overbearing and doesn't overshadow the aquatic notes, but it is noticeable and persistent in a good way. Lastly, the bay leaf is detectable in the background as a subtly green and spicy accord to help add a bit more depth. It's worth mentioning that the dry down has a very distinct and clean "fresh laundry" accord. So much so that I would bet there are some unlisted ozonic or aldehyde notes in this fragrance, it's that strong. The dry down is sweet, woody, and aquatic. The primary notes I get are red amber, guaiac wood, sea notes, and grapefruit. The strongest of the notes are the red amber and guaiac wood. The guaiac wood takes point in the dry down with a woody and sweet accord. This note is shared by the original Invictus, and helps it to retain that "bubblegum" sweetness that Invictus is known for. Behind the guaiac wood is the red amber note, adding more sweetness in a rich and balsamic way. This is followed by the sea notes and grapefruit. The sea notes are still present in the dry down, but act more as a supporting note, keeping that aquatic freshness from the opening going albeit decidedly less salty due to the sea salt note having burned off. Lastly, the grapefruit, like the sea notes, is still present in the background as a supporting note to help retain some of the citrusy zing from the opening. That "fresh laundry" accord is still present in the dry down as well, just to a lesser extent than the opening, meaning that hidden aldehyde or ozonic note is still there. I saw someone compare this dry down to the opening of YSL's Y EDP, and that's not entirely inaccurate, to be honest. Performance: Projection within the first hour is strong at around 4-6 feet. Sillage is strong as well, with an easily noticeable scent trail. After 3-4 hours the projection and sillage were still the same. At the 7-8 hour mark the projection was light, about arms length, and the scent trail was just barely hanging on. The fragrance became a skin scent shortly thereafter. When to wear: Invictus Legend is a spring/summer fragrance that can be worn during the day or evening. This is definitely a casual-wear fragrance, and wouldn't be my pick for anything intimate or formal. It would, however, be a great pair with a t-shirt and shorts, or even to the office, provided you don't overload on the sprays. Blind buy: If you like the Invictus line, particularly the original or Invictus Aqua, this is a safe blind buy for you. It's essentially Invictus Aqua but with more of the sweetness from the original Invictus and some added aldehydic notes. Final verdict: If I'm being honest, aquatic/oceanic fragrances have been growing on me recently. Good aquatic fragrances, I should say; and Invictus Legend is one of them. The opening had a super fresh and clean aquatic feeling paired with that "fresh laundry" accord to help boost the freshness even more, making it exceedingly invigorating and refreshing. It then underwent a transformation in the dry down, bringing it back in line with the hallmark sweetness that Invictus is known for, while keeping enough of the aquatic and aldehydic vibes from the opening to set it apart. Altogether, a very enjoyable experience. Performance is about on par with what I've experienced with the rest of the Invictus line; 3-4 hours of solid projection and sillage, and lasting around 8 before fading away into a skin scent. Versatility is above-average with Invictus Legend; it'll work well as a casual or office fragrance in the warmer months, but it's not something I'd pick in colder weather or for intimate/formal settings. When it comes to mass appeal, Invictus Legend, much like everything else in the Invictus line, is a knockout. This is one of those fragrances that will undoubtedly get compliments when sprayed correctly. In conclusion, although I already own several Invictus fragrances, this is going to be another I add to the collection. It's going to be hard to get my hands on since it's been discontinued for at least a few years at this point, but it's good enough that I'm going to make an effort to find it. Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 7/10 Sillage: 8/10

Unlike most “aquatic” or “marine” scents. I’ve smelt like ADG Produndo EDP ADG Parfum and Jimmy Choo Man Aqua. This is very much more prominent on the Salt note. And I don’t hate it, it’s different. But it still retains the “Invictus” sweet quality without being overly (Invictus platinum) and with amber and wood it smells layered well. It’s salty, sweet and a touch dark at the base in a good balanced way and through the dry down it’s actually a wonderful scent that lingers. Performance was surprising. It’s actually very long lasting. Unsure of sillage but it’s a unique and very nice warm weather scent. I’ll keep this with my ADG Profundo EDP and ADG Parfum. Def try before you buy. I got Invictus testers of the whole line in samples off eBay, Invictus, Intense, Legend, Platinum, Victory. I bought Platinum, then I bought Victory Elixir without smelling it bc I didn’t really mess with the chocolate vibe from victory, smelled very chocolate Axe body spray from the middle school days. And I was right to get Victory Elixir, and bought this discontinued Legend on eBay for $125. I sold Platinum, the boozy sweetness was too much for me in the warmer days.

This fragrance was personally bought, because I was looking to add to my collection. Upon first sniff I was instantly captivated. Yeah I can pick up the synthetic notes all around,but it’s really well done and blended that it’s not bothersome. I get a big whiff of grapefruit/citrus, for about 3 minutes followed by a rush of saltiness, then comes a oceanic esc smell that refreshes that saltiness. The fragrance stays blue for the first 30 minutes to an hour. Then you get that bay leaf that adds a green, sort of floral vibe. As the mid keeps going on the projection all around is great. Nice compliments, can be overpowering so I recommend 5 sprays. I get a warm amber, sort of not really spicy, woody notes. All around the “bubble gum” sweetness is there but to me it’s more of the fruity grapefruit note and not a bubble gum like smell. Lasts on me for 9 hours, by the 7th hour it is a skin scent, if sprayed on clothes this can last days there. Overall love this scent. I’m an aquatic lover so this is right in my boat. Mind you this review I’m barely posting was before COVID-19. Sillage-9 Longevity-10 Projection-9 Overall- 9.5

Invictus Legend by Paco Rabanne: Maybe my favourite from the Invictus line, rivaled only by Invictus Victory Elixir, although both can be worn depending on the season. Unfortunately this has been discontinued but apparently Maison Alhambra's Victorioso Legend/Myth is a good alternative though I'm yet to try it. This starts off with the grapefruit and salty sea notes, maybe the best take on this note I've ever come across and I've tried a lot of marine scents. It's loud and somewhat sweet, keeping that Invictus DNA but it isn't overbearing and the marine side balances the sweetness well. The bay leaf and geranium come through before falling to an amber base but that marine style of Invictus stays all the way through. Incredible performance and one of my all-time favourites. Update: I have now tried Victorioso Legend (now Myth) from Maison Alhambra and it's by far the best clone/alternative to IL both on skin and in the air its about 90% accurate with decent performance. Top notes: Marine, salt, grapefruit Middle notes: Bay leaf, geranium Base notes: Guaiac wood, amber 4.5/5

I paid a full price for 100ml bottle and while it's an easy 'love' from me, aside from the fact it performs and gets you compliments there's not much else I can say about it and I don't mean that as a negative. it is what it is and that's why you're getting it in the first place (at least I did). now, how can I put it... one of my friends always pick Real Madrid in FM games and he couldn't care less for youth system or scouting in lower leagues because he simply does couple of 70 mill. transfers every season and that's it. there's no risk or depth in the way he plays the game because he isn't looking for that. he isn't looking for challenge or unique experience, he's looking for the easiest way to win. well, if he was interested in fragrances, he would certainly love this one because to me, Invictus Legend is Real Madrid among fragrances. both are safe bets, you know exactly why you're getting it and what you're getting from it. everyone will love this on you which means Invictus Legend's job is done.

This is definitely one of my all time favorite fragrances but you should stay far away from it if you don't enjoy smelling sweet. However, if you are someone like me with a niche for aquatic scents, then I would totally recommend at least trying it because while it is for the most part sweet, I really appreciated the sultry yet soft mix of base notes that really add some luxurious depth to the fragrance and begin to intensify as the sweet top notes fade away overtime. Yes at the beginning of the day you might smell like a bright tropical cruise rave, but by the end of it you smell like you're lying on the beach at sunset smoking a cigarette after diving in and exploring the deepest underwater caves. It wears literally all day long and it never gets old. My absolute favorite from this house so its a damn shame they discontinued it, all the more reason to try it if you can tho, im still looking to replace my bottle

This summer Invictus Legend kept popping up on lists so I thought Id give the actual Invictus a try. Im so glad I did because I really enjoy this! My decant wasn't a beast, but it was no slouch either and the scent was just butter. After going through a 10ml I found out legend was discontinued but after some searching I found a 100ml for a decent price from a good Canadian discounter. I will be wearing the hell out of this! Perfect for spring, summer and beginning of fall. I will do a full review later but Im just so satisfied with this scent right now. Edit: I was interested in Y live as its supposed to be Ysl Y meets Invictus. 2 sprays of Y Edp and 2 Sprays of Invictus legand and Bammmmmm! It's too good. Edit 2: Now I understand what the beast mode comments are about on this. This performs amazing.

Smells like a premium shower gel, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. This is the older, more sophisticated big brother of Invictus. Bright, fresh and a bit salty, but deeper than his little brother. I see a lot of reviews saying it smells like rubicon mango, but I don’t get that. I was drinking some when I first tested this, compared the smell and they smell nothing alike. Maybe that’s just me though. I think this is something that can be worn by all ages, particularly if you want people to notice you because the performance is fantastic, just like most of the Invictus line. Would definitely recommend it to younger people though, particularly for clubbing and parties in the summer heat. I doubt many people are wearing this right now, so you’re gonna stand out too.

Bottle looks awesome with the color of the juice. From opening to drydown it smells so good very easy to like, neck to neck with the original for compliments. If you have one in the line it is redundant to have this. A lot of frag heads will find it very generic and youthful, considering the fact there are tons of fragrances like this, and they are hundred percent right but a casual will absolutely love it. Nevertheless even if you are a frag head you should have at least one of these for dumb reach. Great performance 8+ hours with enormous projection power. In my opinion the drydown is very similar to JPG Le Beau's drydown and due to the superior performance Invictus Legend is the clear winner. Very good for casual use and fun times with friends.

Clean, masculine, fresh and sexy. This smells like an athletic, buff, well-dressed macho man. You can wear this anytime, anywhere, for any occasion. Not at all similar to the rest of the line whatsoever SILLAGE: wore it once to the gym and got multiple complaints about the trail it leaves. another day when my dad came home he asked “whose cologne is this?” upon arrival; I hadn’t even been near the door for hours LONGEVITY: absolutely beastly! literally lasts all day long; fights through sweat, wind, precipitation and air pollution like a knight PROJECTION: explosive for the first 5-6 hours and quite strong until its 12th hour; it finally becomes a skin scent after 15-16hrs DO NOT SPRAY ON CLOTHES UNLESS YOU WANT TO SMELL THE SAME FOR 2 WEEKS

No hype on this at all pretty much. The dark blue is very fitting, strong and long lasting. An interesting mix of fresh & sweet. Longevity is 10-12+ Projection is very strong, 3-5 hrs. On clothes it is eternal, could last after washing. Many will view this as linear & boring but it is a great dumb reach. People will most likely think this a nice scent and the Invictus DNA is there for those familiar with the line. Its an amped up version that is very sweet & fresh. Can be worn all year, any occasion, but leans more casual. It really shines in Spring/Summer but cuts through the cold as well. Quite possibly the best Invictus. Rating: 9/10

I love the entrance of this spring/summerish fragrance, and since it's Paco Rabanne, it has to have the bubblegum vibe onto it, which I dig. It screams for beach parties, pool parties or even a BBQ gathering in the backyard...or in the office when you know it's almost summer break. It's has a good longevity (9 to 10 hours on my skin) and a powerful projection in the first couple of hours, after that, it shys to an arms length, but still very noticable to the surrounding people. So yep...it's a beast mode in a trophy shape. Also this fragrance reminds me alot of Kenzo pour Homme EDP, but without the bubblegum vibe.

Smells like enjoying the juiciest mango at the beach accompanied by a cool ocean breeze. Better than the original, it's sweet, salty and very chilling for those very hot summer days. Nothing "premium shower gel" whatsoever about it, sure it's nothing groundbreaking and a mass pleaser, but it does that job extremely well. The sweetness is not overbearing, it manages to be crispy, fresh and sweet at the same time. Performance is beastly; don’t overspray and not very office-safe. Definitely blind-buy safe and a compliment getter. My go-to beach-boy scent.

This has been my husbands favorite cologne lately. The other day we were at the park and I kept getting whiffs of it. It took me to another place in my mind. I felt like I was by the ocean with someone who was wearing a really good, sweet cologne. Great for spring and summer. Especially summer nights. It’s a powerhouse. He sprays about 5-6 sprays in the morning, it chokes out the whole house and lingers for about an hour after he leaves for work. I can still smell it on him after a 12 hour shift. I really like it, after all I did purchase it for him.

My girlfriend just bought this for me as a gift. At first we didnt really love it , it smelled synthethic but after 5-10minutes we fall inlove with it. It`s aquatic salty and has a sweetnes to it. I have problems with fragrances not lasting on my skin , but this last 12+ hours, projects above average and it`s scent most people like. I would recommend it u can wear this day and night its potent fragrance. I have smelled a couple of times Invictus platinum and the normal invictus this is better to me than both of them , i rate this 8.5/10

This was love at first sniff and that's still true to this day! To me this is like being at the beach doing laundry with a slight citrus breeze in the air. Performance and projection are off the charts with this one and it's crazy good when it's on during anything that raises the body temperature. I wore it before one of my baseball games so I'd feel like a legend on the field and I conquered the day. My wife couldn't believe how good I smelled after my game. It's backup bottle worthy but a little goes a long way with this one 🤓

So glad the community is finally appreciating this fragrance. It seemed completely forgotten in 2020. I wore it initially in summer 2019 through a decant and wow are the memories good. Fizzy tropical fruit soda + shimmering salty note. I like the bay leaf note too. It's kinda green, aromatic and cooling. It's like looking at the ocean with the sun shining on it, just shimmering and reflecting. One of the best salty notes in the game and quite a unique fragrance imo. I dont get the original Invictus or YSL Y comparison at all

In my opinion, the best of the Invictus! This is a strong and long-lasting fragrance with a fresh and sweet blend. What sets it apart from other flankers is its strong spread for 3-5 hours and it stays on clothes even after washing. Some may find it linear, but this is a great starter scent. It has the Invictus DNA with an amplified, sweet and fresh touch. Suitable for any occasion, but more casual. It is perfect for spring/summer and can also cut the cold. If you are about to choose between invictus, give Legend a chance

Legend is criminally underrated. The ladies absolutely love this. It's aimed for the younger gentleman as it's sweet...very sweet, but I'm 38 and think it's definitely suitable for men in their 30's and 40's. You will easily get at least 10 hours out of it with 2 sprays, as it's incredibly potent. Apparently it's discontinued in some markets, including the one where I'm in. I have 3 bottles backed up of this gem. I highly recommend you get a hold of it before having to shell out a week's wages for a bottle on eBay.

This one was too sweet for me at first. Whole invictus line in general was. Honestly, every PR fragrance I smelt I thought was too sweet and youthful. Couple years past and 1M lucky has now become one of my favorite cold weather scents for daytime wear and this one is becoming a summer staple. Great aquatic scent that’ll last all day. Not many others in this realm I can think of with that kind of longevity. Highly recommend but beware - this one will choke a bitch out if over-sprayed. Easy on that trigger.

Sick of the morons who dislike a great juice simply because it's popular! The original Invictus is a real lady killer, I always got complimented with it, and I have 25 big bottles of perfumes even Tom Ford's etc., Invictus line, Million line and XS line are one of the most complimented fragrances by ladies!! I go out a lot and I know what the hell I'm talking here ,PACO RABANNE IS A POWER HOUSE!!!..end of story. I learned something : If it's disliked on fragrantica then that must be a really good smell.

this is so fucking strong legit out beats sauvage in strength. if you want a headache inducing but addictive smelling fragrance that literally covers you like a bubble with one spray for a day, you need this. it is unnecessary to spray more than 2 at most, this kills. i sprayed 3 times into a hoodie of mine and after 3 washes it’s still in there, this is a crazy one. whatever they did with this i wish other colognes were even a tenth of this strength, legitimately scary of how strong it is.

I was never a big fan of the original Invictus, but I did like the Aqua 2016 version, however that one is discontinued, but easily replaced by Rasasi Hawas or MB Legend Spirit. Therefore out of all the Invictus line Legend is by far the best one to get. The performance is about as strong as a fresh fragrance can get. In fact this stuff is stronger than most winter fragrances. It's a must buy. The only thing I don't like is the tacky bottle, but that's not really a problem.

There always will be few people voted "very weak" even though this one is monster in terms of performance. I've got my whole day covered with this warior. Yes, it doesn't smell ultra amazing, mega unique and sexy, but gets the job more than just done. It last over 12 hours on the skin and over 24 on clothes. It's no brainer for someone who just started with fragrances, or for those of you that are looking for relying fragrance which will be with you all day and all night.

This a compliment getter, I’ve got this fragrance in 2020 i still have my bottle and I’ve gotten good reactions with this. Only one person disliked this scent but everyone who’s smelled this on me said I smelled great. This is a strong in projection too and it last long don’t overspray on this!! I say 2 maybe 3 Sprays is more than enough this is very strong in scent. And last a long time. You can wear this in the winter imo, but definitely a great spring and summer scent.

One of the best start of summer fragrances. Starts with a tolerable beautiful citrus blast. The grapefruit and salty sea air in the opening. This has a mood uplifting, euphoria that comes with wearing this for me, reminding me of infused oils having an effect on your mood. It tones down to a beautiful aromatic geranium that lasts well into the day. I’ve received more compliments with this one than powerhouses like the big bad aventus

Lasts FOREvEr,very strong but smells sooo good,I get the bubblegum,aquatic,aromatic scents one of my favorite in my collection and perfect for being out in the summer heat all day,I wore this to a concert where we are all packed like sardines standing and jumping for 6+hours outside(you can probably imagine how it smells)and smelling this throughout the whole time saved me from enduring that lmao, for that I give it a 10/10 😎☀️

my first review ever. I am fairly new to the community however, I have a decent collection and experienced many different types of fragrance. But this has to be one of the best fragrances I've smelled, the marine and aromatic is just an amazing combo. the sweets aspect along with the bubblegum note is just sweet n delicious. one of the best fragrances I have in my collection, the longevity and silage are the beast mode!

so... I was at the bar with my friend last week and some older guy who I don't even know approached me, gave me some sort of hug and told me I smell great. I actually didn't mind it at all and look, it's not like I'm expecting women to do the same if they happen to like my perfume, but still. the funny thing is - it was the same with L'Aventure, literally only the guys were telling me how good I smell. what a joke.

So here is the deal with this one, it is wonderful; I smell a collection of sweet, dense fruits. However, it is not the most unique. I already own YSL EDP so I feel this one is not exactly needed in my collection. Had I not owned YSL EDP I would’ve probably bought this one and maybe not bought YSL altogether, they’re just too similar. Again though both wonderful fragrances but I feel they’re within the same vein.

The absolute best Invictus in my opinion. The sweetness and saltiness compliment each other extraordinarily. Very blue, ambery and aquatic, borderlining shower gelly. I like Invictus Legend way more than Bvlgari Aqva Atlantiqve because it is way smoother. Not to mention it is superior in performance department too. We’re talking about 8+ with a fairly strong projection in the first 2. Absolute belter.

Did you want Invictus Aqua 2016 back? Well here it is! How this is sitting at 3.0 is ridiculous, I'm at the point where I pretty much won't take any actual number rating serious around here because this is top notch as it gets. I actually might lean that this is better, and I'm not even a huge huge Invictus fan... This however has changed that. Gorgeous fragrance, this is easily a 4 out of 5

Strongest fragrance in my collection, performance is insane strong silage for 8 hours until I applied a different scent that night. Can be a bit too sweet at times but definitely works for summer and maybe winter. Sad that it’s discontinued as it’s the best performing out of the line but i definitely wouldn’t pick it up for price it is now. Scent 8/10 Longevity 10/10 Projection 9/10

This fragrance doesn't seem to get credit where credit is due, so let me extend it some gratitude. Opening is a nice salty, citrusy, refreshing smell just like you're at the ocean. As the day goes on that fresh bay leaf and geranium opens up, followed by that nice amber finish. A Spring/Summer essential through and through, especially for the warm (but not too warm) days!

Had to come back to this page since Ive worn it a few times lately. I can describe it as.....Nuclear..... Its so strong my wife hates it, that makes me love it even more. My 90/100ml should last a long time. Summer Banger, even if they brought it back they would just water it down. Get those bottles when they pop up on discounters my friends. Pew...pew.......

You smell like you just stepped out of the shower. Overall, it's a very pleasant, sweet, and smooth smell that projects well and lasts throughout the day. It's a bit pricey though, so perhaps there are other fragrances that have a similar vibe, but for less money (cool water intense comes to mind, though it lacks the aquatic notes of this one).

Sad that this fragrance is discontinued,I loved this one because of the salt sweet marine vibe,very great for summer and is not that sweet like others invictus frangrances,the close one to this smell is the new invictus parfum but the salt note is missing is more like a soapy vibe legend is a 9/10,great for spring and summer,maybe fall

I'll keep this short and sweet...reminds me of a fresh clean blue shower gel scent crossed w salty aquatic sea notes. A lil less sweet and a bit more mature. A mass pleaser, great compliments. Fantastic performance and sillage. A true under rated gem. My favorite from the house. One of, if not THE best blue frag out there, bar none.

Invictus Legend is an underrated gem for sure.. this lasts 10+ hours on my skin. I will add a full review once I've had more real world experience with this, but I just got my bottle in yesterday and I am very content. The invictus line gets a lot of hate but frankly I love this flanker, it smells amazing imo and lasts all day.

Hands down the best flanker from the entire Invictus lineup. Discontinued now, seems like Paco Rabanne doesn't like to keep his best works out for long. One of the strongest fragrances I own, I threw on a hoodie I hadn't worn in about a week and I could still smell it faintly. strong, aquatic, sex in a bottle. 10/10 from Paco

First fragrance I ever bought and is still my favorite. It's a sweet and salty aquatic fragrance with a prominent bay leaf and some spices that make it stand out. Cooling in the summer yet cuts in the winter, this stuff lasts forever and has a great sillage. Best Invictus by far imo and I'm pissed they discontinued it.

This is a monster! Easily lasts all day and I only use a couple of sprays. I’m not hugely into aquatics, but this one really changed my mind and can easily hang with much more expensive fragrances. Try it on your skin but I think it’s worth it and is my favorite of the Invictus line. Well done, indeed. 9/10

Best in the line after the original and maybe better. Excellent performance. Checks all the boxes. The quality is impressive. Highly recommend if your familiar with the line and are looking for a warm weather but all year round fragrance. This stuff is good. Gives me strong Y edp vibes they are very similar

This juice is insane man, I sprayed it on the back of my hair once 2 days ago and I’ve washed my hair twice since then and I could still smell it on my hair strands. If sweet and aquatic fragrances is your thing, go for it. I heard it’s discontinued so I’ll be using it less often than before.

This is first fragrance in my collection with backup bottle. Absolutely killer in terms of projection and longevity. Fresh/sweet nuclear bomb, a bit synthetic but smell great in the air. My favorite in entire line. Unfortunately discontinued so test it and grab if you like it.

sweet, loud, projection like a jet engine and oceanic. it’s my signature scent, it’s the perfect for all occasions and all seasons. i recommend this to anyone that wants a very very sweet and loud fragrance. albeit not the best but it is an above average quality fragrance.

To me this smells absolutely amazing. A mixture of fresh oceanic and sweet spicy. Very strong and it was a love at first sniff. It was my signature scent until it got discontinued. Recently I found a 150ml bottle on vinted and I am super excited to receive it.

This fragrance is a total gem. It starts off with a mouth-watering salty note that dries down into a sweet, but pleasant scent. I always felt Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Eau Intense would always be my signature summer scent. I believe this has dethroned it.
