Olympéa Aqua

I got this one quite a few years ago and have made a big dent in my bottle. I absolutely adored this and got it on sale. I actually wanted the original Olympéa, but couldn't pass the great sale. Now I can't even remember what the original Olympéa smells like. This version, however, is lovely! Used to be one of my favorites, but lately, I haven't found myself wearing this at all. In the wintertime, it's perhaps a little too sharp on the citrus notes for my nose. I don't need any more "crisp" in the arctic cold weather I live in, and I gravitate toward more warm and cozy scents, which this definitely isn't. Summer is here, so I decided to wear this one again and it certainly does way better in the spring/summer time when the weather is warmer. The citrus notes aren't as sharp and stingy, and they blend better with the salty aquatic notes. In warm weather, Olympéa Aqua smells like a lovely pool by the ocean. The citrus notes bring the "pool" vibes for me, but they don't exactly make this a fresh scent either, as one might expect. I get the "pool" vibes because the citrus notes remind me of pool chlorine, but somehow in the best way! When this one sits on the skin for a while, it makes me think of laying by the pool near the ocean on a sunny day. The wind brings wafts of the salty ocean air and you're holding a citrusy drink. Your skin has a light scent from the sunscreen you're wearing and all of these images combined are how I would describe this scent. I used to absolutely love Olympéa and I definitely wore this year-round when I first got it. After years of owning this one, I feel it's way better suited for the summer. Perhaps my nose has fallen out of that mad love that I used to feel for this scent, but I do still enjoy Olympéa Aqua. Currently, it's not a must-own in my collection though I'd still say this is about 3.90/5 for me when worn in the right mood and in the right weather.

I just got this perfume today and I am extremely excited about it!!! It smells amazing! Not only does it project really well, but it also has an amazing scent to it. It smells really salty, but in the best way possible:). I can also feel the jasmine in it and a faded vanilla note as well. It has a very pleasant mix of fragances, which I love!! It's sweet, but not too sweet and the flowers aren't that present. I personally don't usually like floral perfumes, so this one is definitely suitable for me. I am 17 years old and I don't find it mandatory to only wear it in summer, even if most people say it's more fitting for that season. Taking into consideration that it has a stronger aroma, a young person could easily wear it in winter too. I believe it to be satisfactory to all ages, but I think that the ages between 20-30 are the ones it would be the most appropriate for. It is very youthful, but quite mature at the same time. However, if you are a bold teenager with a strong personality, you must give it a try! It is actually very difficult not to like it. As a matter of fact, Olympea Original is more problematic and I wouldn't recommend it for younger girls(in their teens), but Olympea Aqua is very fresh, but somewhat elegant too. And also, it's surprising that it is not that common of a smell, which will make you special among all those Black Opium fans haha!!

This perfume stands out from the rest, without asking for it. I was testing 20 bottles of perfume and this didn't smell like anything else there! It also took time to release its fragrance! Rather than flamboyantly letting itself out the moment I sniffed it, rather, I had to actually sniff it three times before I could smell something! And I mean this in a 100% positive way! It unravels itself like a night-blooming flower. As the Moon unfolds, it also unfurls its petals. It doesn't ask for attention, but once it has your attention? Well, it's exotic and unique and rare, unlike any other! This perfume is a Queen that didn't join a beauty pageant to become a queen. All the other perfumes I was testing— they all had joined a beauty pageant to become a queen in their own right. But this perfume? She was born a queen into a royal-blooded family. Though she takes a while to unfurl, once you can smell her she never leaves your nose! You continue to smell this fragrance all throughout the day! Unique, one-of-a-kind, doesn't try too hard, doesn't beg for attention, doesn't scream, is refined, is queenly... this is just a perfume for a true goddess. And that is what I conclude. It's not for human consumption. It's ambrosia and honey— the food of the Gods!

Salty, Aquatic Jasmine, Orange-Blossom & Vanilla... This 2016 Floral Aquatic scent is a nice update to the genre, and a fresher aquatic take on the original Olympéa. Opens with a watery burst of citrus accented with petitgrain, and already the salty jasmine-vanilla of the Olympéa DNA is swelling through. As it transitions to the heart, it becomes a jasmine & orange-blossom scent with white-floral, citrus, salty, aquatic & fresh tones. To me, this is predominantly a jasmine scent, with other notes serving to enhance and support different facets of jasmine, which here has its fruity-citrus and grape-leaning tones highlighted. The salty vanilla-ambergris base carries the performance for well beyond average performance. This is quite close to the original Olympéa, but an oversimplified description might be partway between Olympéa and Alien by Mugler. This could be worn year round, but the salty, aquatic tones make it most appropriate in spring through fall. It's a love for me. 10/10 for a marine-floral scent. Enjoy!

True, this can be seen as Olympea and Alien had a child, which for me is a combination of two great fragrances :) This one is heavier and stronger on jasmine than the original, and jasmine in here is very sensual, intoxicating. It is a jasmine grown in water, surrounded by slightly sweet (subtle vanilla) and salty aquatic nuances. A more elegant and mysterious version of the original Olympea. The clash of contradictory notes - fresh/heavily sweet/salty is not so distinct here, which in my opinion makes it more likeable for people who found the original Olympea repulsively sweet. Of course, as expected - great performance. Longevity, sillage, everything.

I love this. Currently, it's my signature scent. I hate fresh but the climate in my country is pretty hot and humid. This fragrance sits before the borderline of "fresh" so it suits well with tropical climate. It's not airy. It's watery but by all means not watered down. It's sweet but in a classy way. Vanilla-ish but with a subtle saltiness. It's unique for me. One thing people might don't like is it chooses its wearer. It mixes with your body odor, either in a good way or bad. So please test this on your skin, not only on blotter. And goodness! I love the bottle. I prefer the original bottle but only the aqua one was on-hand.

There is a new Olympea Aqua for 2018 - it's in a clear ombré bottle with silver accents, and morphs into something more marine than the 2016 version. They've upped the ambergris and reduced the woody notes. I'm a fan of Olympea in all of her guises, this one adds a more subtle daywear version perfect for work. A gorgeous addition to the Olympea wardrobe.

I love this one! For me it's so much better than the original. Sillage and longevity are nice too. I feel like I still can smell the jasmine from the original, even though it's not listed. Slightly spicy, because of the ginger, but overall veeery marine, which I like. A summer must have.

Gorgeous, long lasting and suitable to be worn day or night. Although it is an EDT, it is quite strong, which I like and has great longevity. I can detect the saltiness in it and it reminds me of "Womanity" by Thierry Mugler as it also has a saltiness about it.

Was given a sample of this today and it is really nice! It's a fresh and fresh spicy at the same time of that makes any sense lol it's really quite lovely!

I smelled this perfume many times in the shop before I bought it - and - I love it so very much - it says "me"!

This opens up to a bright bergamot with an undertone of aquatic notes for 20~40mins. The vanilla creeps in and the salt takes over for a good 4 to 5 hours. Contrasting to the original olympea, I found the salt much more potent and really packs a punch at a closer radius, while the vanilla is more diffuse and radiates out further. I'm not quite sure what ginger flower smells like, but the power of the salt might be because of that. The dry-down is a more cosy mix of vanilla in the centre, and a swirl of salt, ambergris and cashmere wood close to the skin. A bit like Calvin Klein's Reveal (2014), but less animalic and musky. The sillage is hard to judge. Bergamot is going to fill the room no matter what, but it's not a scent that is going to suffocate people or cause any complaints normally, and it only lasts for a little bit. After that it's really only got moderate sillage, maybe sharp intensity near the skin. This lasts just pretty much the same as the original, despite being an EdT. I feel like this is what the original should have been, bold and transparent. The removal of jasmine was a great choice because in the original it wasn't really working together with the vanilla salt.

Fresh, yet gentle, salty aquatic beginning. Calm summer morning by the sea. Wearing a light white robe, she is meditating at the beach. The finest, creamiest sand flows along the coastline forever. Lazy morning waves whisper softly to the salty wind and it smudges her delicate skin. Soon, fresh ginger makes an appearance, balanced by a dreamy vanilla. Maybe our lady went back to her minimalistic, wooden beach house? She is having just a nice juicy peach for breakfast, it's too warm for any heavier food. She made herself a drink too, cold refreshing water with some freshly cut ginger and orange . Jasmine grows just outside on the veranda, few roses are there in a vase in a corner. Oh, and the sandalwood - maybe a few Buddha figurines are there at the table? That's the dry down: warm and calming, slightly flowery, balanced softly by the glorious sandalwood. I just love it so much.

This version improves on the original for me. I read that the jasmine is missing which may be why. Although the overall impression is lighter, leaving more room for the individual notes to breathe and be identifiable, it feels in no way like a watered down version of the EDP. Summer and happiness in a bottle for me. I don't own anything else in the acquatic group as they tend not to suit me - I once owned Millisime Imperial however and that gave me the same feeling but for about 5 times the price. I think it's the Ambergris note rather than synthetic calone. I note that in Olympea it is "Ambergris accord" so I assume synthetic - kudos to Paco Rabanne then, for creating an imagined impression of that salty, beachy vibe that's within my price range.

I was not expecting to like this perfume, but i do. I was positively surprised by Olympéa Aqua. It is better than the original. It is more elegant and interesting. The sweetness from Olympéa is gone.This one is fresh, but does not smells like deodorant or like many other generic fresh fragrances. It isn ́t faint either. One spray is enough and i am enveloped by a calming, comfy (i guess it is the cashemere wood) citrusyness (bergamot). When i think on this fragrance, i imagine a young lady lunching at a fine restaurant on the Lago Maggiore in Italy.Classy, peaceful and sensual. Well done, Paco Rabanne, well done.

This is a very interesting powdery dry vanilla floral aquatic. I don't usually enjoy vanilla too much, but this one is not too sweet, quite creamy and milky and powdery and dry, possibly because of the salt notes. It's both fresh and powdery, energising and serene, and I would surely want it if this phase lasted more. After a couple of hours it lost its saltiness and watery character and became just a cozy vanilla, wearable but not as interesting as the watery salty initial mix. Need to try the original first, hopefully it keeps the salty dry character longer...

I've sprayed original Olympea on one wrist and Olympea Aqua on the other. The first one is sweeter, richer, more complex while Aqua is a citrusy scent with a hint of salt and vanilla. To me, the newer version is not a watered down original by any means but rather a distant cousin . The scent is rather sour than salty, and not as aquatic as its name suggests. Either way, I find it nice and wearable. Those who dislike the "in your face" vibe of the original Olympea, give this one a try.

normally i am into oriental woody or woody musks but lately i am craving everything salty and aquatic. i had to test this one, it sounded like something i may like, light summer scent with aquatic and salty notes. unfortunately, it is not salty nor aquatic to my nose. to me there are too much white floral and sweet notes here that overpower everything else. this is still a fragrance who likes sweet scents. i am looking for something salty but not sweet i quess.

I don't understand how it's supposed to be salty. All I can sense is vanilla, but not pure vanilla extract, more like Vanilla with added synthetic sweeteners. Maybe there's something floral in it, that's barely there. It's a sweetness bomb, very similar to the original. What I don't like about is, that sweetness seems to be out of balance, there's no other interesting notes balancing it out. Not a bad scent, but I won't be buying.

I tried Olympéa Intense and Olympéa before. Personally, I prefer these versions since they are deeper and more sweet. This version is aquatic, light and fresh with only a hint of vanilla peeping trough. The citrus notes combine very well with the salt and ginger notes! I can imagine other people prefering this one. It's beautiful!

I'm really enjoying this version of Olympea - although not as lush as the original, it does have similar floral warmth and woodiness tempered with more citrus overtones. Although flankers can be annoying, this one shines and delivers!

Aqua is the better Olympea. Very nice, fresh, salty, I can smell mostly watery notes and salt and a bit of ginger. I think I could wear it, but honestly, it is not my favorite type of fragrance. Salt in perfume is not my thing.

At least on me, it smelled very light, aquatic and salty. Didn't get vanilla or my nose didn't pick it. Not sure if I'll buy it, but in case this helps somebody else: it reminded me of the beach in best and clean possible way!!

Well, the truth is that I like! Salty vanilla with a huge fresh waterly notes, it is working! Olympea Aqua is more gentle like the original Olympea, it's easy to wear. I think I like it better like the original.

I like this one better than the original, i found this one less salty and sharp and more comforting and fresh. I can just imagine wearing this on a tropical holiday, its beautiful.

Just tested on paper strip yesterday - it's a lighter and less cloying version of the original edp, like mudpach said more gentle. Longevity is very good for an eau de toilette!

I like the smell of the fragrance. It is fresh and sweet at the same time. What I don ́t like is the poor longevity on me, barely half an hour.

Impression from a scent card: indistinguishable from the original for me. Salty rounded floral (jasmine dominant), vanilla is background.

This review is based on a decant I received. I really expected this version of aqua to be, well—aquatic. It is by the great Paco Rabanne after all. Instead, what I whiffed was a linear, definitely not aquatic, stuffy masculine scent. For reference, my favorite PR scents are Woman and Solar. Woman is beautiful and very feminine. Solar is sunshine in a bottle. Of course I'll keep searching for other Rabanne scents that are more in the feminine vein.

I sprayed it on a tissue paper and smelled divine, aquatic and salty , went back and bought it .... all I could smell on me was an overwhelming, bubble gum, round sweetness. Too juvenile for me. Longevity on my hair was good , had sprayed it the night before and got a compliment at work the next day. Too bad that something about it bothered me, I wish the salt and aquatic notes where somehow more textured, had to take it back .

I love Olympea, so on june I was wondering how beautiful can this Olympea aqua be. I expected something else. The first I can smell are only lemon or lime (or anything like that) notes. Something similar to Dolce&Gabbana Light blue - which is kind of strange!! A big disappointment for me, but good to know I am gonna to be faithful to Olympea. This Olympea agua is just.... nothing for me!

This literally turned my stomach. The only note I can detect is the aquatic note and it is like water+mold+chlorine.

On my skin, Olympéa Aqua is a creamy bunch of sour sweetness. Too rich and intense for me. I had to scrub it off.

Nooooo! After wrestling with the original version for a while, I had finally decided that I did, indeed, enjoy it muchly, and hat a purchase was imminent...... and then I flipping well sniffed this version in Boots! I had been fairly confident that I wouldn't like it as I'm not a lover of citrusy scents, and therefore it wouldn't interfere with my plan to 'minimise' my want list. Except that I DO like it. Quite a lot. In fact, possibly, maybe, just a teensy bit more than the original..... Dammit! This is fresher and brighter than its predecessor - the thing I struggled with is that Olympea smells like it should be a beachy, summery scent - and yet it's also quite heavy, bordering on gourmand. Not a bad thing, per se, but I wasn't sure how it would wear in the heat. This version is just more sparkly, somehow, juicier and cleaner, yet it maintains the warmth and sweetness of the original without being at all cloying. Would wear beautifully on a hot summer's day. Sillage on me is moderate to heavy and it maintains the lasting power of the first Olympea - sprayed it at about 2pm and it's still pretty noticeable at 10.30pm. If you found the original to be a little to heavy to be worn outside of the cooler months, give Aqua a try. Warm, pretty and uplifting. Me likes!

I blind bought this fragrance, and when I first smelled it, I really enjoyed it. It smelled expensive and refreshing. I didn't think it was unlike anything I smelled before, but I still thought it would be an elegant summer fragrance to keep around. The more I wore it, however, the more cloying it became. I can smell the vanilla a little bit, but it's not obviously sweet- it's just very sour, from the citrus notes, and sharp from the salt. The scent itself is pleasant and fresh, but it just gives me AND my mother the biggest headache every time I wear it, and the vanilla does not shine as much as I would like for it to. I wish I would've purchased the original Olympea, because it may have satisfied the gourmand craving I have. This one is OK, I'll have to give it away, though, since it smells too synthetic to me. It lasts a while, but maybe I just notice it more because it's not my favorite. The projection is alright too, especially for being a warm weather fragrance (many citrus/ fresh perfumes can smell weak to me). I was searching today between all my perfume samples since I have a lot of them, and because I wanted to put a little bit aside my perfumes and to try something new. So I found Olympea Aqua. Even if we are in the beggining of september, the summer is still very present in Romania with 30-34 dregrees, and I said to my self: "ok - something with AQUA in the designation must be definately for summer". Moreover, I read also the reviews to be sure that it is indeed a summer fragrance, and also because I know that usually Pacco Rabanne perfumes are quite heavy and sweet. Anyway, I tried it, and I was instantly invaded by the vanilla smell...:) No trace of salty or aquatic smell. A very creamy, vanilla, sweet fragrance. The funny part is that usualy all the perfumes turn into a sweet smell on my skin :)) I find this perfume quite pretty,very girly, young, but definately NOT for summer (at least for me guys). Way too heavy and sweet for a summer fragrance. I would say that it is suitable for the autumn - winter period when you need to warm a little bit. I think also that for those loyal to sweet fragrances, this can be a blind buy. Enjoy it :)

This was my very first splurge on a perfume. I tried lots of scents in the store (except my other favorite Givenchy Ange ou Demon Le Secret which didn't have a tester) and this one really stood out. I was looking for a perfume that has a luxurious and remarkable kick in it, and this one had both. I can't really be particular in terms of notes because I haven't fully figured out how each note smells like, although one of my criteria in selecting is that a perfume should be a vast complexity of notes, meaning there is no one or two notes that stand out or else I'll just buy essential oils of those notes. This surely is one complex perfume in terms of notes. It's a combination of salty, warm spicy, sweet and luxurious. From opening til about 3 hours, it's strong. I mean strong enough that I got a headache wearing this and going on an hour car drive, but also strong that the moment you enter a room, you leave a mark (good mark, though). In the drydown, salt and vanilla remains, and lasts for about 4-6 hours. Projection is very good, I smelled it from a distance in the other person who borrowed my perfume and sprayed just 1 spray.

At first, this perfume overwhelmed me. It was very interesting- if I sniffed too closely, I was met with a sharpness that was almost abrasive. Salt. A slap of citrus and ginger. If I sniffed a bit further, the perfume had yet to form an "aura" and I faced a somewhat linear presentation of saltiness and freshness, as if they were separated on a table and their odors had mixed in the air, instead of infusing one another. After a few minutes...wow, what a difference. The sharpness goes away and I get the mariney-fresh goodness. Everything blends together so beautifully. Still invigorating, but much more smooth. The drydown is a lovely and soft unique powder. Sweet but not in a gourmand way. Still retains that bright fresh note that gives it that beam of light. I'm still acquainting myself with this fragrance. I am drawn in more and more each time.

Pretty much my most favorite perfume for the last few years has been the original Olympea, it's what I wore on my wedding day in November 2016 so it always makes me happy when I wear it. I've never been able to find another perfume that I like quite as much, and I've even tried Olympea Legend and Intense but could not stand them. Today is the first day I've been able to try the Aqua version, and I think I could possibly like it even more than my beloved original Olympea. It smells similar enough to me that those wedding-day-happy vibes are still there a little, but it's much lighter and more fresh somehow. As much as I love wearing the original scent all year round, it sometimes is just too heavy for the middle of summer. I think I have found my perfect alternative for summer :)

I am a huge fan of Olympea Edp. Intense too, Acqua is nice, but isn't as interesting in my opinion...it has that watery vibe, and I agree it is a bit sharp., it is mostly a powdery fresh vanilla scent, with a hint of salt.., it is more like a naked version,more plain too, the salty note is more shy, seems to drown a bit in the citrus undertone.. ..I don't know, I like it, but it is kind of a pale version of the original...it is summery too...if you thought edp was a bit much, then you might enjoy Aqua, as for me, i don't like it as much...it isn't as good in my views. Update: I actually like it more and more as I wear it. I still like edp better but Aqua is interesting too..just a bit too soft

I was paper testing for abt an hour today morning in a drug store and this one was one of two worth testing on my skin. First impression: VERY interesting, fresh, unique and loud. The loudness stayed with it for a while (abt 2 hours) but the first very feminine scent turned into a little masculine after abt 1hour. With 2 hours gone the sharpness fainted into a very regular sandalwood vanilla scent. I've never smelled anything so two faced before, a very fresh and sharp opening followed by a very calm, relaxing even boring ending. I don't know much about notes in general but you really have to have a wide range of interest in scents if you want to like this one.

I bought Marilyn Monroe How to Marry a Millionaire from a seller on eBay UK last week and decided it was definitely worth the £14.75 I paid for 50ml. I was intrigued by the comparison to Olympea Aqua; I therefore bought a 5ml decant from another reputable eBay seller to compare the two. OA opens with a much brighter, very citrussy zing - but the drydown to HTMAM and OA are virtually identical (in my opinion, anyway). I haven't compared sillage & longevity yet, but... If you are UK based and want an extremely inexpensive (but expensive smelling) dupe for Olympea Aqua, get yourself onto eBay or allbeauty.com now and order some. I am seriously impressed!

Olympea smelled very similar to Lady Million to me... though I loved it and finished a bottle. I replaced it with this and must say despite being a gourmand and white floral fan, I love this! It is lighter and fresher than the original, but still with a deep sweetness. It is not as woody as the original and the oceanic and citrus scent is forefront. I also love the frosted glass bottle. I got this in 50ml, I'd had the 30ml in the original. Surprised to find that despite being lighter, the sillage is just as good as the original.

I strongly recommend testing this perfume for at least an entire day, letting the notes unfold. The initially citrusy, airy blast nearly had me running to the store, absolutely lovely. It reminds me of the original Olympea, yet much brighter. After two hours or so, there is a strong note that is not for me. It took me a while to figure out, but it reminds me of Black Opium Floral Shock: on my skin it becomes a synthetic oceanic note that unfortunately does not smell as classy as the first two hours of the perfume.

I can't imagine anyone getting disturbed by this, but at this point in history it also feels too generic to evoke a reaction beyond "That's nice". There's something oily or buttery about it. It's light and soft without being too fresh/crisp/clean. I don't mind it but I would never pay for it. I wanted more salt. //edit I must say I'm very impressed with the longevity of this. I'm very much used to fragrances this light ghosting me after a couple of hours, but this one has stuck around for about 7h now.

New eddition of Paco Rabanne has sth in common with its first version which was a somewhat warm salty vanilla combination. Aqua Olympea is also salty and sweet,a little floral in background but more on the summer side of the year. Ginger and bergamot always worke well to make a fresh spicy sunny scent and here is no exeption. Sweet aquatic note also floates around making the whole idea beachy,summery yamm. Longevity and sillage are descent.

I've just sampled the relaunched version. First thing I notice is that the bottle cap is slightly different. It's unmistakably Olympea but much sweeter. There is a distinctive fruitiness that is absent in the original and Intense. As it dries down it becomes a little powdery. It's quite summery but soft. I think it is different to the first Aqua. I like it but think that I prefer the Original and the Intense.

Rather disappointing - this isn't an aquatic take on the original Olympea... it's a powdery, white floral adaptation. Think of this as mixing Olympea with Alien and Alien Absolu... that's all I get from this. Also, the longevity is completely disappointing. I'm not sure what's going one with these reformulations with the Olympea/Invictus line, but something borderline unethical is going on.

This new version smells very similar to the original but it's lighter and a bit more acquatic.It's actually quite beautiful and still rather sweet you can smell te vanilla all the way through. I like Olympea and I think this is a very good flanker to that, quite elegant and absolutely perfect for summer. Besides it has good sillage and longevity
