Oud Montaigne

This smells just like the Vimto drink in the opening! with a rich natural smelling oud wafting in afterwards. There’s a candied, jammy plum sweetness up front. The plum is very pronounced, then the oud comes in to meet it in almost equal measure, neither overpowering the other. In the dry down, a rich vanilla sweetness appears out of nowhere. Even though it isn’t listed, there’s definitely vanilla/vanillin in here which gives it a delicious creamy sweetness. I also smell blackcurrant and grapes! In such a saturated market, it’s hard to do anything truly unique with oud. The fruity oud genre has been done to death. Yet this manages to feel distinctive. A super sweet, plummy, vanillic oud that stands out. Performance is less impressive . Longevity is mid, and has soft/moderate sillage

Never really smelled a plum fragrance I didn't like but I've also never smelled an oud I fell in love with. This, however, is a very good contender! Plum might be the perfect fruit to pair with an oud. It's not so boldly sweet or tart that it becomes a legitimate plum fragrance (not that oud would ever allow that to happen) but it's strong enough to hold its own with other, very prominent notes. I love how subtly it warms and deepens as it dries down. The plum fades in such a beautiful way. It's pretty calm and calming to me, I wouldn't be mad smelling this all day.

I am counting down the days for cooler weather so that I can specifically reach for this. Though not disclosed in the notes, there is a hefty dose of vanillin in the ingredients which gives Oud Montaigne a gorgeous boozy vanilla dry down with a sweet plum backbone. I usually shy away from oud and leather combos, but both notes are incredibly blended here. This along with Silver Skin are my top picks from this collection.

Oud montagne is a great fragrance. Very well balanced. I get sweet ambery oud. Very subtle wood notes and leather . No booze though. Nothing sharp there. 9/10 Very wearable all year round . Glad I have it.

This is nice, however, an almost identical scent is Testa di Moro Salvatore Ferragamo. OM has slightly more oud, Testa has slightly more fruit.

Breathtaking potent juice. People will hate or not give this a chance bc it's Rabanne, but it's a 10/10.

Purchased from Selfridges on launch day along with Night Soul (which is the best of the bunch) This one is very sweet, slightly smokey with animalic touches. It opens incredibly sweet, like sticky sweet, but has the perfect counter parts coming in the form oud and leather (slightly barnyard but not over the top). The cardamom gives a whisper of spice in the background, but for the most part is indiscernible. After 3-4 hours you’re left with a sweet, spicy leather that stays fairly linear. Word of warning, this stuff is nuclear (on me atleast) so spray with care!

Incredible plum scent. If I’m honest, I’m not usually a fan of a lot of Rabanne fragrances, and most of the private line samples I tried before Oud Montaigne were underwhelming, so I went into this with low expectations. But once it dried down during a walk, I completely fell in love with it. It reminds me a bit of Initio Side Effect—smooth, warm, sweet, boozy, and addictive. The oud here is very wearable too, more like the western-style oud in Tom Ford Oud Wood. Phenomenal scent. Genuinely surprised me. Best from the brand

It's a nice boozy plum with a bit of leather but no oud. But it smells too strongly of alcohol that it's headache inducing. After two hours it starts to calm down and it shines as a sweet boozy spiced plum, but it's gotten quite faint by then. Interesting concept, but not greatly executed. Wish it had more prominent oud and leather and that the liquor didn't have an overpowering alcohol to it.

This perfume is incredibly similar to Merchant of Venice Vinegia 21 – like its oud version. I think its notes are totally made up.

A boozy plum oud, well blended. Oud is not my go-to at all but here it’s not « in your face ». I kinda detect a spicy rose as well. It’s fruity with the plum (normally I struggle with plum in perfume but it’s okay in this). It does really his job to evocate middle east. It’s classy, not ground breaking. But not the kind of frag I wear

Amazing, bought this at selfridges london, one of my first big niche bottles, was going to buy tobacolor, after being overwhelmed by oud maracuja and other maison crivellis, as well as other oud bombs, this stuck out to me. Super sweet but deep. Owning and wearing as a daily now, not headache indusing, but leaves a good trail all day. To me it smells like if swy was a niche sent. Super sweet toffee/caramel + a niche fruity note. Wish there was more cardamom, but overall its a banger for people that like sweet but not headache inducing fragrences. Overpriced though, if this was 150gbp for 125ml not 250gbp for 125ml id say its worth, but la nuit de lomme/dior homme layered w stronger wiht you would do a better job
