Phantom Elixir

Yesterday, I reviewed Phantom Intense and was met with exactly what I expected: a sweet and aromatic mass-appealing fragrance. It was a pleasant and versatile fragrance for sure, but at this point in my journey, I found it a little boring. Today, I'm reviewing the newest Phantom in the line: Phantom Elixir. Typically, with elixir flankers, they're darker, heavier, and stronger. This usually translates to being a bit more interesting as well. Is this what Phantom Elixir has in store for me? Let's get into it and find out. Scent: The opening is aquatic, mineralic, and sweet. There are only four notes listed: sea notes, mineral notes, vanilla, and oud. The sea notes are what hit my nose first with a very oceanic accord, similar to the type of sea notes found in Light Blue Eau Intense. They're watery, fresh, and salty, like an ocean breeze. Behind the sea notes is the vanilla. It imbues the opening with a marked sweetness, similar to the vanilla used in Phantom Intense, but it never overpowers the sea notes. Up next is the mineral notes, and to a lesser extent, the oud. The mineral notes give the opening a clean, metallic, and slightly icy edge. They are very much a supporting note and serve to alter how the sea notes and vanilla are portrayed. Lastly, the oud is barely perceptible in the background as a faint woodiness. If it wasn't listed in the note breakdown, I wouldn't assume it was there at all. It is worth mentioning that immediately after spraying, there was a fishiness that was off-putting and that I attributed to the sea notes. However, it went away within a couple of minutes of wearing, so I'm not letting it bother me that much. The dry down is sweet, aquatic, and woody. The strongest of the notes are the vanilla and mineral notes. The vanilla has become the focus in the dry down, with the same sweetness but fuller and richer compared to the opening. The mineral comes in behind the vanilla with the same fresh and icy, almost minty accord, but ramped up from what it was in the opening. This is followed by the oud and sea notes. The oud has emerged in the dry down to provide a dry, somewhat dusty woodiness. It's a very mild type of oud, not funky at all but with more of a dark edge than something like cedar or vetiver. Lastly, the sea notes are nearly gone but I get just a hint of the watery freshness far in the background. Performance: Initial projection within the first hour is very strong, reaching out around 6 feet. Sillage matches that energy with an easily noticeable scent trail. After a few hours the performance was largely unchanged. At around the 7-8 hour mark the projection was still about 3-4 feet and the scent trail, while lighter, was still noticeable. Even about 12 hours later there was still a bit of projection and sillage left. When to wear: Phantom Elixir changes quite a bit from opening to dry down, and as such, makes it a fairly versatile wear. The aquatic opening is a perfect match for spring and summer, whereas the sweet and woody dry down works well for fall and winter. Both will work for daytime or evening wear, as well. This fragrance gives off casual vibes, so I wouldn't pick it for formal or special occasions. Anything that you wouldn't dress your best or wear a suit and tie to should work fine. It would also work fine as an office fragrance as long as you don't go too heavy with the sprays. Blind buy: Phantom Elixir is a pretty heavy departure from the rest of the Phantom line, so I wouldn't recommend it as a blind buy just because you like the other Phantoms. However, if you like aquatic and sweet fragrances, this is a pretty safe blind buy for you. Final verdict: I expected a darker and heavier version of Phantom Intense, and while that's not quite what I got, it was still a more interesting experience than Phantom Intense. The super aquatic opening was very unexpected, but smelled fantastic. Afterwards, the sweet and mineralic/woody dry down was a very interesting transition and tied in the Phantom DNA perfectly. Performance was stronger than what I got with Phantom Intense; a solid 3-4 hours of strong projection and scent trails, and lasting at least 12 before fading away. Like the rest of the Phantom line, Phantom Elixir is a versatile fragrance. It can be worn all year round to the office or any casual occasion, but it's not what I'd pick for anything formal or intimate. The mass-appeal factor is on par with the rest of the line as well. There are no funky or offensive notes, and most everyone will think you smell great wearing this. To wrap this up, I do think Phantom Elixir is a massive improvement over Phantom Intense. It's more interesting while keeping the same level of versatility and mass appeal. At this point, I should probably pick up Phantom EDT and Phantom Parfum to give them a review as well for the sake of completion, but I'm pretty sure Phantom Elixir is the pinnacle of this line, and I will most likely be adding a full bottle of this to my collection. Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 10/10 Sillage: 8/10

I have used this perfume for several days, testing it inside and outside of home just to see how it performs. I wore it to the office one day also. The original Phantom gets a lot of hate, most of it undeserved, but after trying a sample I decided that this wasn’t my type of scent. So, I was hesitant about this perfume, but I must say, I am pleasantly surprised. Phantom Elixir definitely has the DNA of the original, but with a twist that makes it more appealing to a more mature and refined audience. It’s loud but not overwhelming. It’s a wearable scent, very pleasant and well-balanced. You will not offend anyone with this scent, I see myself wearing this to the office from time to time. It has a fresh opening, fruity, sweet. After it settles you get a mixture of oud with hints of incense and the mineral base. Then after you are left with a pleasant dry down of vanilla. This perfume has a strong sillage and it’s long-lasting, you get 5-7 hours easily. Overall, I enjoyed the twist they did on the original Phantom, this is definitely a more appealing and enjoyable version that I can fully support.

I absolutely love this fragrance. It is a very sweet winter smell but with a very unique twist with a mineral note. Whenever I smell this fragrance I imagine a beautiful seaside with frozen water and snow covering the sand. Phantom elixir has the generic desighner winter fragrance smell with the overpowering vanilla and sweetness but as I have already said the mineral note makes it somewhat unique and different meanwhile still having a safe mass appealing scent. The performance is amazing and it can last around 11 hours, however you will not smell it after 11 hours, gosh if your wearing it you wouldn't be able to smell phantom elixir after half an hour at max, sweet powerful smells like this will make you go nose blind in a matter of minutes. Overall, if you want to get compliments in wintertime go for phantom elixir. If you want to smell unique go for phantom elixir. If you want to get whiffs of the fragrance your wearing after a while do not get phantom elixir.

I had to spend a few hours at the airport, with the huge selection of fragrance, I randomly came to the Rabanne stand with zero expectations, tried this one, and bought it right after without knowing it's a new release. It has a fresh opening, fruity, I don't get any mineral note as listed, I don't know where this spiciness comes from, but it's noticeable. It's a pleasant scent for everyday. Projection is good, it's not crazy but I would say it's perfect for it. Longevity is enormous, I put it on at 08:00 before work, and around 17:00 it's still alive. If you're looking for something that hasn't been hyped(as a Le Male, for example), it's a very good choice, you can safely blind buy it, and you will enjoy it. Very simple, but in good simplicity Spicy and sweet Great for everyday Office friendly Longevity surprisingly good

If it was called Campfire At The Beach everyone would understand it and it would have a 4.5 rating. It’s a relaxing and fun scent, and it’s unfortunate that almost everyone considers a fun and sweet scent for young people only. Screw that. The oud is definitely a European take but it’s my favorite note encapsulated in a salty mineral crystal. The dry down still keeps these notes along with vanilla. Literally smelling it now I just had a flashback of driving over the bridge to Cedar Point with the windows down. It’s a spring/summer/fall scent for me. 9/10 easy.

My nan bought this for me back in 2020 and let me tell you what a blind buy. It hits the notes of Oud like I’m sniffing a horses backside. It does however smell a bit fishy which reminds me on my nans lasagna flaps so that’s an upvote from me. Very underhyped fragrance and smells very similar to deor homie intest or mont blanc leggins spirit. The notes of plum and mustard aren’t aparent of the opening because it’s not used in the fragrance however I do like to add them for that extra kick. Anyway 10/10 but would not recommend

Just picked this up yesterday, i have all of the phantom's and would say this is closer to the original than the others with some mineral and sea notes notes in the opening and balanced better, if you have the others this could be redundant but if you’re like me and want the full collection you won’t be disappointed. Great performance and longevity. I pick the Intense for the opening and the EDP for the dry down and this one sits somewhere in-between safe blind buy if you like any of the others.

Give this one a chance... I understand the EDT is terrible, I personally am not the biggest fan of it, which is why the elixir surprised me. This is a salty, aquatic, mineral, vanilla fragrance which works surprisingly well. It’s smooth, mature and modern. Any age group can wear this for any occasion or season. I didn’t get any of the oud accord at all, I wear many oud fragrances and I’m just not picking up anything.

I love this one, just smelt it in Notino unaware it was a brand new release, though Rabanne definitely got this one 100% right, unlike some of the other Phantoms. I don’t understand why this isn’t rated higher, I’m my opinion it’s amazing. Price is a bit suspect though, but I assume it’ll go down once a bit of time has passed. 9/10 overall, maybe the best Phantom perfume.

This website is borderline useless with all the kids in here reviewing fragrances they’ve never smelled. I actually own this and it’s the best phantom by far. Smell it and make your own opinion, most of the niche overlords enjoy smelling like a beaver anal gland (literally) so don’t go by anything you see here.

Love this one. Smells like a fancy vanilla that is gently rocked by the sea. The only thing I think that could have been done better is the sprayer. If only you could spray it by pressing the whole head down, that would have been so cool :c Really missed the potentional there.

I recently picked up Phantom Elixir at a great price despite being a new release, and after two days of wearing it, I must say it’s a solid addition to Paco Rabanne’s Phantom lineup - right up there with the Parfum version. While it doesn’t aim to revolutionize the fragrance world, it delivers a well-rounded and wearable scent. The DNA is the usual Phantom, but this iteration leans more mature and refined. It dials back the sweetness (no rhubarb here, which I liked in Parfum) and introduces a faint marine vibe blended with a dry, polite and inoffensive "designer oud." Some have compared it to Tom Ford’s Oud Minerale, and I can see the resemblance. However, Phantom Elixir feels more versatile and approachable, perfect for someone dipping their toes into oud territory without diving headfirst into complexity. I decided to put its projection to the test by asking a few people nearby if they could smell it on me after a couple of hours. The response? “Yes, and it’s rather good.” Subtle but positive feedback. Longevity sits in the 6-8 hour range, with the scent gradually fading after the 5-hour mark. It’s not beast mode, but it gets the job done. Still discernible as a skin scent well beyond the 10 hours mark. To wrap up, we are not talking about a game-changer, but Phantom Elixir is more than just another run-of-the-mill designer fragrance. It offers a welcome alternative to the endless wave of “blue” or "dumb reach" perfumes, serving as an easy, everyday option with a touch more character. If you’re looking for a versatile scent with a slight distinctive hint, this is worth considering. Not every fragrance has to be bombastic sometimes, being pleasantly reliable is more than enough, especially if you are looking for versatility or office friendly options.

- Mineral-like scent but quite shower gel-like, slightly sweet as well. - Most people would say it's a nice scent, but nothing more, nothing special. - Follows the Rabanne Phantom line; typical teenage fragrance for ages 10-18. - Overpriced considering how simple the fragrance is. - Due to its clean, mineral character, I can imagine it in an office setting as well; somewhat of a blue fragrance. - Much more fresh than sweet. - Safe for blind buying, but don't expect anything special. 10/7-8

I think this is a decent scent if you find it on sale. It's not 100% mass-appealing or blind-buy safe, because of the oud and mineral accord. The vanilla base is quite nice and inoffensive, but the top and middle notes might stink to others. Personally, it's enjoyable, but definitely not for everyone, and NOT the best, given other options like SWY Intensely (or Parfum, for the leather enjoyers), JPG Le Male Elixir, or JPG Le Male Le Parfum.

I finally got to try this in macy's after returning every week to see if they have it. It's definitely phantom but there is a interesting subtle marine note, and the oud is not strong but it mixes with the vanilla base similar to haramain amber oud. I can't judge the longevity since I tested it after wearing other perfume. I do like what they have done but I still need to decide if it's for me value and longevity wise.

I don't like any of the other Phantoms; they all smell mostly the same, except this one. The sweetness in this makes it OK for me -- but after a few hours I do get tired of wearing it. That said, it is probably one of the only frags I have ever gotten random compliments from females when wearing. So, there is that.

To visualize this fragrance, imagine wearing a black tank top and black dress pants, barefoot at the beach with cool winds at nighttime with a bon fire. Also, it reminds me of Davidoff Cool Elixir. Phantom Elixir is just sweeter on the dry down, hence leaning more towards younger people.

It's good and reliable, probably a safe blind buy. It's nothing special, but good for anyone who is new to the hobby. (I don't smell the vanilla at all btw)

Phantom Elixir A great scent, but do you really need it? The phantom elixir has that DNA of the original Phantom. The Phantom Intense that was realised before this one is very different from the rest of the 3 main flankers. But was this one really needed? An elixir should be powerful and unique, not an copy and paste with a slight new touch to it. Does it out perform the Parfum? No, is it better? Not really. I like this fragrance on itself but i think this one is more of an eau de parfum of the original one. It is the eau de parfum that we never got since Rabanne straight jumped to Parfum. So elixir isnt a worthy name for it, and where is the gold? Scent wise it is good no doubt. It is strong and lasts long but i do not find this unique enough for an elixir. It feels sadly more of a money grab by Rabanne. But it should be tried and not just denied from a review like mine. I think this places at current moment third on my Phantom list. So overall Scent - DNA from the original but with its own slight touch 7/10 A bit pricey for what it is but no doubt a strong and long lasting fragrance. A nice one, just a little too late, and skip the elixir name.

This smells like Phantom Parfum, with a slightly mineral opening. It’s not terrible by any means, but it’s not different enough to warrant owning both. I don’t get oud at all, just a little bit of that mineral salt that other modern aquatics have (think Profondo 2024, not the original) in that it’s there but it’s a background character. This is still All about the vanilla from opening to dry down. With Phantom DNA behind it. I like it, I don’t love it. The EDT is still the king for me. Longevity seems ok, silage less so. For an elixir, this neither amps off the skin nor does it fill a room. It’s also not taking a more mature step away from the line, not really. It’s just salty sweet instead of lemon sweet, or vanilla rhubarb sweet, or whatever Intense is (I really don’t like that one). Anyway, if you don’t own parfum and you want something new then sure, get this. But if you already own something else in the line, this isn’t reinventing that wheel. It’s aping the design a little too much.

Who would have guessed, an elixir ! The Phantom line couldn't be complete without it's ultimate aromachemicals pumped, nuclear performing elixir. It obviously has the sweet lavender, citrus DNA. This one is mainly focused on a synthetic vanilla combined with the mineral ambroxan marine undertone. I cannot smell even the slightest bit of oud though. The impression that I have is that it's extremely synthetic and overbearing with the amberwoods, ambroxan and musks, it's also pretty sweet so I would wear it during the summer because of how nauseating it can become. This one will absolutely annihilate the nostrils of your coworkers if you dare to put too much of it. The performance is very strong as expected with an elixir from Rabanne. Even though I do not like this one for myself i actually gave a compliment to one of my lab partners at uni. This is what this one is for, compliments and mass appeal. 4/10 pleasant at most

As a previous short review, I said that I liked this one but after trying it more my opinon has changed to ''okay''. Don't get me wrong it is not bad. None of the fragrances from the Phantom line is bad if you have the right uses and expectations for them. This one starts invictus-y fresh, goes woody with no noticable oud, and ends with Phantom vanilla. Mineral notes are there and contributes to the freshness. I am just glad that they removed that disgusting synthetic lavender. other than that I don't find this one interesting much. It is just a satisfactory fragrance and no, this isn't bad. I wouldn't buy this personally but there is nothing to dislike here. Could have been a great gift. It is versatile, has good performance and mass-appealing reach without smelling like synthetic warfare (EDT).

I didn't smell it, but I want to express my expectations. I do not like Rabanne as a brand as I feel like their fragrances are either too synthetic or sweet, sometimes both at the same time. Phantom, is perhaps the worst line of Rabanne, with only 1 great (Parfum), 1 nuclear synthetic bomb (EDT) and 1 ''Same thing, but worse'' (Intense) releases. Seeing the notes, I do not want to begin with negative expectations but Oud and Maine-mineral notes... They are hard to use together. Even Tom Ford created a disaster with those notes, so how can Rabanne create something good with them? We will see, I guess. As much as I do not like the brand, using those notes in a mass-appealing scent together is rather bold.

Tested it today, and I cannot write a full detailed review just from smelling once but I will just say these: 1- Rabanne, which is one of the brands that I favor the least in the designer market, used Oud in fresh profile better than both YSL and Tom Ford. 2- Performance is freakishly strong, at least for the designer market parameters. 3- Unique vanilla fragrance. Would pick this over new Le Male Elixir tbh. It still has the synthetic victory elixir vanilla in it, but it makes the smell more enjoyable to be honest. I still think best Phantom is the Parfum version but this was a pleasent surprise. Rabanne could really turn the tables if they nail it with Gold Elixir too.

First off, its called Mineral Oud, not mineral notes and oud. Its just a name they came for a mineralic woodiness. Theres no Oud or whatever dark, resinous or smoky in here. Its, in fact, very fresh, marine and mineralic in a way with a sweet and synthetic Vanillin. They seem to utilise the same ingredients in many Rabanne and JPG fragrances, specially in Invictus, Le Beau and Phantom lineup. This sweet marine ingredient its basically what you'll get here. Boring...

I wasn't really expecting much from this. But I must say I don't hate it. To me this smells like a mix of Phantom Intense without the orange and Invictus parfum . Like a simple oud version. It's quite nice . It's simple and has a good appealing dry down. The dry down is a vanilla, mass appealing oud and slight minerality . Performance is a good 6 hours before it's a very close skin scent I'd give it a 5/10

I'm disappointed that I don't get any marine notes or any oud at all off this fragrance. You can definitely tell that it's a Phantom flanker. It's got a strong, powdery vanilla and woody vibe. It smells good for sure, but I would say is redundant if you own any of the Phantom line. Worth retail price? Probably not. 6/10

Not what I expected based off of the notes I had read before trying. It’s very vanilla-forward with hints of a light designer oud. Maybe this smells metallic but i don’t really know what metal is meant to smell like? I don’t smell any aquatic notes at all. It’s pretty boring, you’re better off getting Phantom EDT.

Elixir?? :)). Agree 100% with @Hellbingwiete. It's one of the worst "elixirs". Just another invictus. I may add that, for example, Invictus intense(i don't know if it's still available) is much better and interesting than this "elixir".. On a scale from 1 to 10 i'll give it an 6.

i thought there was no way this combination of notes could possibly make a good perfume but oh well. it smells like every other generic men's cologne. not too bad. vanilla and beachy

Sweet and funky oud, mixed with a slight marine note. Should have known considering the sweetness in the line. Great performance and projection. Just not my style.

One of my first fragrances, thought it was amazing when purchased for the first time, then dabbled into other smells for a while, came back to this and it just smells bad, synthetic, metallic? BUT, don't let me stop you, the performance is actually crazy, like 8 hours projection and 12 on skin, even longer if sprayed on clothing, trust this is strong, "sexy" and seductive, also can be used at any time of day, but I feel you could get something better out there for the price.

If you were to mix a salty aquatic scent, vanilla and that metallic smell that you are left with on your fingers after touching keys, it would be this perfume. It’s up to you to decide whether that’s good or not. I personally find it a bit nauseating, definitely worse compared to Phantom Parfum and Phantom Intense.

Stocking gift for a 13 yr old. As is the rest of this line. Shouldn't even pay discounter prices for this

Horrible, sweet that makes everyone gag. If you use gasoline will smells better than using this.

Really don't care about the Elixir naming scheme, nor did I watch any influencers talk about this... But this is ATROCIOUS to me. this is exactly what I imagined a synthetic vanilla to smell like before I got into fragrances, just amplified! Gag worthy, scratchy, plasticky Vanilla that stung my nose and left a lastingly bad impression. I really don't hate on fragrances, as almost everything out there that isn't an adidas cologne is mostly a matter of taste and who am I to claim objectivity... but THIS... this might be an exception. If you wanna smell like a teenager working at a plastic factory, this is the one. I think the combination of synthetic vanilla, synthetic oud and the fantasy metallic and sea notes are a bold combination.. that simply doesn't work at all and should never be repeated.

I don’t know why I keep filling out these forms for free samples from Paco Rabanne whenever they have a new release. Each rendition of Phantom has been even more shockingly awful than the one previous, it seems with this Elixir they’ve continued with such a tradition. Does it smell like the original? Yes, but I don’t see how that could be considered a positive. It’s taken that sickly sweet, chemically abrasive concoction of cheap lavender and vanilla, and amps it up with a fairly nauseating aquatic accord. It’s safe to say the scent is a resounding yuck. I don’t get what Rabanne’s ethos is. They make quite possibly the most disgusting fragrances on the mass market and yet the general public lap it up. I can’t remember ever liking these abominations.

For an elixir (Parfum Intense), the longevity and projection is just awful, which is a shame because it smells great. Compared to the EDP Intense, this one seems to last 1⁄3 of that one, which is a huge shame

Smells horrible, the oud and mineral combo is atrocious. Skip at all costs wore a spray and had two people telling me to scrub it off. Funky oud, a slightly powdery vanilla, and an eggy minerality. Not good

I like rabane, but this one smells really bad. Like some very strong artificial candy.
