Phantom Intense

Alright, one bottle, one nose, no bias. Phantom Intense opens with a surprise. There’s a bright citrus lift right out of the gate, but it isn’t blue, watery, or generic. It’s fresh in a slightly aromatic way, almost fougère adjacent, not barbershop, more modern and playful. You can already feel the vanilla sitting underneath, not loud yet, just letting you know this isn’t going to stay sharp for long. That opening is exactly why this works so well for casual nights out. It’s energetic, a little flirty, and easy to be around. The freshness keeps it from feeling sticky or juvenile, while the vanilla gives it warmth and approachability. This is the kind of scent that feels comfortable moving from the first drink to the third without ever getting cloying. As it settles, the citrus freshness starts to soften and the vanilla steps forward. The fougère like edge fades into something smoother and rounder. A sweetened musk starts to take over, clean but sensual, with the vanilla acting more like a filter than a focal point. It’s not dessert sweet, it’s more of a polished sweetness that feels intentional and wearable. The dry down is where Phantom Intense really locks in its identity. Musky, slightly creamy, subtly sweet, and very easy on the nose. This is the phase where it becomes a people pleaser without feeling hollow. It sits close, smells inviting, and has that “you smell good” quality that works especially well in social settings. Nothing sharp, nothing challenging, just confident and attractive. This is absolutely a casual night out scent. Bar hopping, dinners with other couples, relaxed date nights where you want to smell good without smelling like you tried too hard. It feels youthful, but not immature. Fun, but still put together. You could wear this dressed up or down and it never feels out of place. Performance is solid for what it’s trying to be. Projection is noticeable early, especially in the first couple of hours, then it pulls in closer but stays present. Longevity is good enough to carry you through an evening without needing a respray. It doesn’t disappear, and it doesn’t overstay its welcome. Final verdict, fresh without being boring, sweet without being sloppy, and musky in a way that feels modern and social. Phantom Intense is a great example of a designer fragrance leaning into fun while still keeping some structure. Score, 8.4 out of 10.

Phantom Intense is a beautiful scent that is reminiscent of a lemon cake as other reviewers have described. The lemon and orange blossom dominate the opening and continue through a majority of its impressive duration. The cardamom and rum sit in the back and give PI a nice spiciness. The clary sage, lavender, and vanilla all seem to give it this aromatic, clean, but sweet feeling that somehow almost comes off as creamy (in a good way). The cedar and moss sit nicely in the background which leaves the scent with a nice masculine heart to balance out the sweeter aspects of the fragrance. PI has a very delicious and addictive quality to it, but given how aromatic and fresh it also is, I wouldn't describe it as gourmand. Performance is pretty solid, easy 8-12 hours on skin with good projection for about 5-6 of them. Projection is genuinely impressive first 2-3 hours, last hours still leave a nice intimate scent bubble. I got a big bottle at a very good price on discounters and all in all feel like this was pound for pound one of my best purchases. If the original smells similar to this I cannot wrap my head around the hate for this fragrance, I found it to be pretty unique and nicely blended relative to other designers in this range. Although it has some pretty common notes, I think this is isn't likely to be too redundant in a collection unless somebody has aloooot of options. It is also pretty versatile, I would wear this in virtually any situation besides a select few where it could be so hot I could be cloying. But this isn't heavy enough to where I wouldn't wear it at all during the summer. Phantom Intense is severely underrated, I would highly recommend it. Edit: Was comparing this to a dupe of Scandal Absolu bc I noticed strong similarities out of the box, as I smelled the two more n more I sort of realized what distinguishes this from the Scandal DNA is that the fruitiness, citrus and vanilla from Phantom Intense culminates into an accord reminiscent of a fresh bowl of Fruity Pebbles, in a REALLY good way.

The first time i saw this in 2024 it caught my eye because of the blue shaded color. I had tried the original and the Parfum before in an airport, which I didn't really like at the moment. Early 2024 I was searching for a new fragrance, one for spring/summer that wasn't too sweet but also not too fresh. I had at that time only JPG Le Male Le Parfum for autumn and winter, so I wanted a cologne for spring and summer since the JPG is a very heavy scent. I tried multiple fragrances brands and their flankers, YSL, Versace, Armani, Dior and so on. None of them really got me feeling that WOW feeling that a perfume can give you. They were either too fresh, woody, or citrusy. I personally love oriental fragrances, with a lot of sweetnes to it. With the Phantom Intense you get this fresh but also sweet smell that in my opinion is one of the best designers in the world . It was that perfume that I tried for the first time, and I just said WOW. A day after and I bought it, 50 ml and i received a travel kit with the original phantom in 10 ml, a shower gel and a rabanne bag. I wore it too school and directly got a compliment by my friend. As i wore it more, more compliments I got, they all said it was a perfect blend of sweetnes with freshness (which is exactly how I wanted my fragrance to be). The sweet Vanilla and Rum in there makes it so well blended with the frosted orange blossom. In my opinion you can wear it at any time of the year. However for summer I wouldn't go for a daily use if it is 30+ degrees, as it can become overly sweet. At night however it shines. This is a perfect daily use, but at evenings I love it even more. It is in my opinion the best, strongest and classiest of the flankers. 10/10 from me.

This easily is one of the most slept on fragrances of all time. Fragbros on Fragrantica will piss and moan and about the bottle design and the fragrance's "mass appeal" (which don't you want to wear a fragrance that other people around you like to smell? never understood that criticism). Phantom intense is leagues above the other Phantoms due to the inclusion of the candied orange blossom note and the cardamom, which gives the somewhat linear, yet pleasant scent profile of the original phantom more sharpness with the aforementioned inclusion of the orange blossom note and the pleasant spiciness of the cardamom. This fragrance can be worn year round due to it's freshness, as well as the vanilla and patchouli which adds more depth to the fragrance. Phantom Intense is easily, by far, my most compliment fragrance, with people legit sitting me down and having a conversation with me about how good I smelled. This fragrance is really easy to become nose blind to, which may be the reason why everyone goes on about it's poor longevity, however with around 6-7 sprays, I get strong projection and compliments/comments on my fragrance even 9 hours after application. But yeah to keep a long story short, this fragrance is stunning and I hope the Fragrantica fragbros keeping hating on based on the bottle design (without even testing the fragrance in the first place) because it helps me gatekeep this god tier fragrance. A much needed improvement over the original and I actually went from hating the OG Phantom to really liking it over time. I initially hated the tacky robot, thought the fragrance was an utter mess, didn't like the concept and was way over priced and underwhelming....But it grew on me. What the original did have was a bit of uniqueness to it. Not ground breaking or revolutionary, but different enough while still being somewhat crowd pleasing. Now this intense version is fantastic! It's a dark blue sweet style fragrance just like the bottle, fun, playful and very long lasting. Fruity sweet and vanillic notes are dominant front and center. Like a fresher version of Invictus Victory Elixir (Which I own and Adore). My kids also like to wear this as well, they think the robot is cool. Is this a serious fragrance, no not at all. It's a do it all blue dumb reach fragrance in a super tacky bottle. But it does smell fantastic, gets compliments, and has great performance. It's a Paco Rabanne style fragrance to the core. Tacky bottle, crowd pleasing, somewhat synthetic, great performance. That's par for the course from the house and I dig it!

Super underrated fragrance, one of my favorites. I'm relatively new to the fragrance world, and smelling Rabanne's Phantom for the first time is actually what got me into it. Before this, I had only ever owned one fragrance my entire life (Lacoste Blanc), and it opened my eyes (more like nose) to the insane variety of different scents I didn't even know existed. Some people call the Phantom bottles tacky, which is super lame to me, because I love robots and think the bottles are dope. The bottle is actually what got me to test the fragrance out for the first time in a Nordstrom. I bought Phantom Parfum, but when I eventually got my nose on Phantom Intense a few weeks later I decided to sell Phantom Parfum to get this one instead. My nose isn't "trained" yet necessarily, but to me it smells like a bit fruitier and more pleasing version of Phantom Parfum. 9/10 to me!

I picked this up today, my local store had it out for sale and found out it officially releases Thursday, I have the original and the parfum Out of all the flankers this is my favourite i would say it’s wearable for any occasion, any season, it starts off with an extremely fruity floral sensation and then dries down to a slightly warm but boozy vanilla I can’t quite explain it I’m not a fragrance connoisseur I don’t know much about the notes and everything but I can say the projection is very good on this and it smells fantastic. I would have uploaded a photo of me holding it but I don’t know how lovely fragrance, closer to the parfum but a little different in there for sure it’s beautiful.

Absolutely wonderful upgrade ( less smoke)over the original. Reasons being are which of the following answers below: That's right, multiple choice, like from those end of the school year exams that we all used to love: A) it's actually a people pleasing sent lending it to be a dumb reach for cool weather B) I can smell/detect it on me the entire wearing of the scent, just the right amount of great performance C) it's scent profile is somewhat linear meaning I will be smelling what I fell in love with at first smell the entire time. D) all of the above. You got it right if you answered, D) all of the above. It's an awesome scent that is hard not to reach for.

Not a groundbreaking fragrance but very good for what it is (Paco Robane)! Yes, it has a lot of components other fragrances on the market do. However, the blend and the original idea is perfected, smoothened and fine tuned into something really wearable and yet fun. Love the bottle too. If the original DNA seemed boring to you, this would not have changed your mind. But if you felt the OG was a little bit rough around the edges but interesting otherwise, you might really like this one!

I actually really liked this. looking at how other phantoms have done in the past i thought i would've hated it, but its really nice. its very linear and pretty much stays the same through the wear. The crazy thing tho is the fragrance starts out weak and then projects more heavily as it drys down. It also lasts forever as a skin scent atleast don't really know how long it projects but sometimes over 12 hours of skin scent easily for me. around a 9/10 maybe, its so good!

This one is the sweet spot for me. While the initial phantom was very youthful and punchy, the parfum takes the dna to a woody direction, while elixir goes an oud path, this one has a bit toned down dna and presents a nice cardamom, vetiver combo. This one is the most mature out of the line, strong but not overly done.IF you are looking for an more affordable alternative to this one, go check Hayaati Al Maleky by Lattafa

Well blended, great performance, a bit basic but still interesting. Very aromatic, with a great citrus top notes, pleasent mix of warm and fresh spices, warm being more dominant. Great use of woody notes and vanilla base. Amazing performance, I can still smell it on myself after 8 hours plus. On clothes even one or two days after. This is a cant go wrong, whenever wherever kind of scent. Great for what it is.

I love this on its own it’s my current favourite but yesterday I thought id layer it with Scandal edt and WOW! Scandal first then phantom it makes the orange blossom nuclear, give it a try if you have both highly recommend! if you find phantom isn’t doing it for you or visa versa this combo adds a extra orange fruity blast to Phantom that people are saying they can’t smell,

GLWZ got it right. 9.2/10 fragrance. I really love the versatility of this fragrance. It is versatile yet can be professional. I love the vanilla-lavender combination. Like somebody else said, it is fun yet sticks to the line DNA. I really like this fragrance as it lasts a long time and is good after 30 minutes for the summer, making it very, very versatile.

absolutely love this fragrance. fresh, semi-sweet, inoffensive and a little flirty during the dry down as the vanilla comes through. my favorite Rabanne fragrance of all time. perfect for nights out but the orange blossom note can stand out in an office or school setting. unfortunately overspraying is necessary as this doesn’t last longer than a few hours

It is a beautiful Lavender scent which I really love using when I go to the theatre or dinners. Though it is sweet and spicy, it is fresh at the same time. It is suitable all year round, except for a Summer sunny morning. That would not be the best option. One of my favorites from the ones I own. Guys, try it !

Starts out with the most beautiful burst of citrus I've smelled in any fragrance and then dries down into a more mature blue scent. Because of the beautiful lavender with just a hint of vanilla this isn't like some blue scents that seem meant for young guys, this one is more mature and sophisticated. Love it!

I also have this perfume in the 100ml it's called phantom intense by paco rabanne and I'm a female and I own a lot of men's perfumes I have some in Jean Paul Gaultier and I also have the original phantom and this phantom intense smells so nice it reminds me of Elvis presley and it smells like elvis presley

Bozy vanilla with some freshness from the orange blossom and lemon. Good night out fragrance. It has something that reminds me a little bit of Versace eros. I like it more than the perfume version, which is more ambery in the style of Boss Bottled Elixir and Gentleman Eau de Parfum Reserve Privée.

Very easily the best Phantom. It's the classic Phantom dna with an added very modern type of sweetness thanks to the rum and lavender (Phantom Parfum was too vanillic for me, this preserves some freshness). Mass pleaser for sure, very versatile.

Sweet candied orange blossom that lasts the whole way through with a vanilla and lavender base. I have all the Phantom’s and this one’s the best out of the bunch a lot more toned down but in a good way.

The first 20 minutes the smell was really citrus but sweet and pleasant, after those 20 the cardamom and sweetness appeared softly but really noticeable. This is a perfect Friday and weekend perfume

Thought it might've been bad because of the original Phantom, but that was wrong. Sweet lavender, tea, and potent. This is what I am getting of it. It's good.

This opens smelling like a lemon and gin drink! Smells delicious. The dry down is light, woody and peppery. I really like this; I think it smells unisex.

I've been in the niche realm for a while now, so I feel like it's time to get back to some designer fragrances for a bit. For this, I'm going back to the house of Paco Rabanne (or just Rabanne now, I guess). Up for review today, Phantom Intense. I've smelled this once or twice of test strips at the mall and thought it smelled nice, but I've never tried it on skin. Will it be good enough on skin to warrant me buying a full bottle of the little robot? Let's get into it and find out. Scent: The opening is aromatic, citrusy, and sweet. The primary notes I get are lavender, vanilla, lemon, and rhubarb. The strongest of the notes are the lavender and vanilla. The lavender note strikes my nose first after the first spray with a blast of powdery, aromatic, and slightly spicy lavender accord. It's a very typical lavender note, the kind that's used in numerous designer fragrances. Right behind the lavender is a solid dose of sweetness from the vanilla. Again, very designer and mass-appealing, not overly creamy or gourmand. Up next is the lemon and rhubarb. The lemon gives the opening a nicely balanced tart and citric accord. It doesn't overwhelm the lavender or vanilla, but it's not too subtle that it gets lost either. Lastly, I'm able to pick the rhubarb out in the background thanks to its uniquely fruity and tangy profile. It's subtle, but it's there if you look for it. The opening reminds me a lot of Valentino's Uomo Born In Roma Intense, due to the similarity of the strong vanilla and lavender notes. The citrusy and fruity tones from the lemon and rhubarb do help to distinguish it, though. The dry down is aromatic, sweet, and spicy. The primary notes I get are lavender, vanilla, cardamom, and cedar. The strongest of the notes are still the lavender and vanilla. The lavender is still at the forefront of the dry down with the same aromatic and powdery accord, not much has changed. Similarly with the vanilla note, it retains the same sweet vanilla accord from the opening. This is followed by the cardamom and cedar. The cardamom has emerged in the dry down as a spicy and distinctly minty accord. I find this interesting since it's listed as a top note, but it waited until the dry down to announce itself in a big way. Lastly, the cedar imbues the base of the fragrance with a backdrop of dry and sturdy woods, but without the characteristic "pencil shaving" accord that cedar can often have. The dry down is still very reminiscent of Born In Roma Intense, especially with the introduction of the woodiness. However, the minty spiciness from the cardamom does set it apart from being a copy. Performance: Initial projection within the first hour is strong at around 6 feet. Sillage matches that intensity with an easily noticeable scent trail. After about 4 hours the performance was about the same. At the 7-8 hour mark the projection was about 3-4 feet and the scent trail was lighter but still noticeable. The fragrance became a skin scent around the 10 hour mark. When to wear: Phantom Intense is a very versatile fragrance that can be worn anytime, anywhere, and for any occasion. Casual, formal, date nights, or even the office; the mass-appealing and safe nature of the scent profile will have you smelling appropriately nice. Blind buy: If you like that vanilla/lavender combo that is present in many designer fragrances like Born In Roma Intense, Phantom Intense is a safe blind buy for you. Final verdict: As my first introduction to the Phantom line, I can say that I was pleased but not surprised. I knew going into this that it was probably going to be a very safe, mass-appealing designer type of fragrance, and that's exactly what it was. The vanilla/lavender combo that I know oh so well was utilized well in this fragrance, and there were still small differences here and there to help set it apart from other designer fragrances using the same DNA. With "intense" in the name, you would expect the performance to reflect that, and it does. Strong projection and sillage for at least the first 3-4 hours, and lasting about 10 hours before becoming a skin scent. Versatility is a 10/10 for this fragrance as it can be worn pretty much anytime you want. It does have an inherent sweetness from the vanilla, so maybe tone it down a bit when it's hot outside, but it'll still work just as well in the summer as it will in the winter. As mentioned, mass appeal is what this fragrance is built for. This is the type of scent profile that almost everyone will think smells great, save for the fragrance snobs who are so jaded that they can only appreciate niche. In conclusion, if you're looking for a safe, one-spray-fits-all fragrance that will perform well and get compliments, Phantom Intense will do that for you. Tomorrow, I'll be reviewing Phantom Elixir. Top: Frosted Orange Blossom, Lemon and Cardamom. Mid: Lavender, Clary Sage and Rum Absolute. Base: Vanilla, Cedar and Moss. Fresh and sweet done perfectly! Up in the air it smells fresh, but sweet the closer you get to it. Tacky bottle, but who cares honestly it’s all about the smell. Opens up fresh spicy and sweet, the frosted orange blossom is very noticeable the first 30-45min but fades away quickly after and all that while the vanilla is giving it a creamy vibe. The lavender and sage maintains the freshness throughout the mid while still being sweet. In the dry down it’s all about the woods, rum and vanilla, reminiscent of Victory Elixir base just not as sweet but a little bit more playful. I get 10-12 hours of longevity with 2/3 hours of good projection. I wish it was stronger after the opening hours, it's still noticable but it sits closer to the skin for the remaining time. Imo you can use this all 4 seasons but just not the hottest of days, it's very versatile because of the fresh/sweet combo. I think this will garner a lot of attention, as we know the fragrances that have the best compliment factor are fresh and sweet if you care about that. I’ve never tried anything from this line until phantom intense, which i would highly recommend. I rate this 9/10!!

While not totally the same this reminds me of a mix of Invictus Parfum and Varvatos xx intense. I have worn this a few times now and I really can't come to a conclusion about it. The top and mid of this are absolute fire. That frost orange blossom is VERY nice and the vanilla comes on sweeter than I like but I like it. Once it has sat for a good 30 minutes is when I'm not so sure about this. The vanilla rum cedar give it too much of an amber dark sweetness that it reminds me a bit of one million which I really don't like. If they were able to keep the orange blossom strong or added orange to the base notes I think this would be a super banger. As of right now I'll only get a bottle if my gf really likes it. Performance is ok . On the skin you're getting a good 3 hours of projection. Close skin scent for maybe 5 hours. On clothes 3 sprays you'll smell it the next day. Definitely a youthful scent. I think it's a good date night fragrance. But for the most part it's versatile. Currently the 3.4oz is $112 US. I think it's fair for what it is . But I wouldn't say that much. I'll wait for it to drop into the 80s 🤞

Phantom Intense by Paco Rabbane is a woody, spicy and aromatic fragrance. Its opening is similar to its mother fragrance, the 2021 Phantom, that is, it has a sweet and fruity aroma, similar to mango. The difference is that as the minutes go by the aroma becomes spicier, something between cardamom and black pepper combined with vanilla that gives it a very pleasant appeal. The lavender accord is also a little noticeable, but the main accords are spicy and woody. Due to the fruity and spicy accord, it could be used on cool days like the first days of spring, but mainly in autumn and winter, never in heat. Appropriate situations to use it could be casual rather than formal, at school, outings with friends or nights out. In terms of longevity, it has been very good, reaching more than 10 hours, and with a noticeable sillage the first hours. Phantom Intense is an undeniably pleasant fragrance, I couldn't say otherwise, but you must like modern, sweet and spicy aromas to enjoy it. Personally I like it, but its aroma tires me very quickly, therefore I doesn't love it.

Sweet, fruity and vanilla heavy. Opens sweet, aromatic and very fruity. The notes are synthetic but pleasant. The fruit smells a bit like spiced plum. It has that "dusty," slightly spicy feel the other flankers do. Tonka and vanilla are apparent immediately. After a while it smells like "rhubarb and custard." It's very strong and vanilla heavy. Remains sweet, becomes richer, the fruits turn syrupy but are still enjoyable. It then reminds me of a sweet sold in the U.K. called "Black-Jacks," and definitely has a liqorice/aniseed note. Has a mixture of sweet woods, vanilla and chocolate-like patchouli at the base. This a modern, youthful scent. Ages 15 - 35(ish.) Best for cooler weather, though pleasant enough to wear in all but high summer. Good both night and day. Not office friendly IMO. Performance is great. Projects really well and lasts as a skin scent until the next day. Nothing ground breaking. Similar to the others in the line but smells really nice. I like it.

The opening was good but too citrusy for my taste. It didn’t smell like a winter perfume at all—rather, it felt like a fresh scent made specifically for summer, which was a bit confusing. It stayed that way for about two hours before transitioning into its sweeter tones. Around the three-hour mark, I finally picked up some vanilla and a hint of lavender, but I personally couldn’t detect any other notes. I asked a girl for her opinion, and she said it smelled like the sea and gave off summer vibes, which doesn’t feel right for a winter perfume. Overall, I see this working well for spring or early summer, and it’s definitely suitable for daily wear, particularly during the day. However, I found the scent quite boring, at least for me. Overall, I’d rate it a 7/10. The longevity is 12+ hours (maybe I’m gifted, as almost every perfume lasts that long on my skin), but it had no projection at all for me.

The opening is super generic. There’s nothing really recognizable about it, compared to a lot of other men’s fragrances. Mass appealing and likable, for sure, but nothing new that you would be intrigued by, and that you’d be blown away by. I like fragrances like these. Vanilla and lavender are a winning combo that is great for every day use. When it dries down, you do get a little bit more variation: you get the cardamom that makes it more manly in my opinion, and not so much boyish. I do get hints of other things there, mostly like the lemon. I’m basing my review on a tester I got. I’m not familiar with the rest of the Phantom line. It’s nice, but I don’t really feel like it should be labeled ‘intense’. There’s nothing wrong with this fragrance, but in my opinion, also nothing remarkable.

I was always a defender of the original phantom edt and this is a great flanker. It has a brighter, fresher, more aromatic opening and it adds a sweet orange note that carries throughout the drydown. I don’t really detect the rum note. The smell is pleasant and addictive. Much the same as the edt in terms of performance. The sillage is good and you will definitely get compliments especially from the ladies wearing this. That being said the phantom line is very much for men under 25.

Got the original phantom back in 2023, I really can’t stand it too much anymore to be honest but this one while sharing the same DNA (that bitter lemon-rhubarb-lavandin combo) is much better as it develops a bit, it’s warmer and more complex overall, while toning down the bitterness a tad and feeling like a more expensive composition. That being said, performance is just not great for me, overall less projecting and lasting less on skin than the original EDT.

I like the strong, aromatic lavender here. It balances out the sweeter notes well. I got the stereotypical “men’s cologne” accord pretty quickly after I sprayed this on. It lasted about an hour before it and the lavender note vanished, leaving a pleasantly sweet base not too dissimilar to Devotion or even Fame. I could see this making a good casual scent for cooler weather for someone who doesn’t like excessively sweet or herbal scents.

Like most fragrances, the opening is nothing short of incredible. A blast of citrus unlike the other citrus smells I’m used to- it’s mixed with something, just not sure what. If only that lasted longer. What’s left after the opening is a vanilla fragrance that smells similar to other vanilla fragrances. Do I like it though? Yes. I just wish those top notes were a bit longer lasting. Overall- 8/10.

Dismissed this as generic when I first tried it but I am now liking it more than I thought I would. Very versatile and pleasant scent. Although it's not listed, I get a lot of grapefruit in the opening. It dries down to vanilla and lemon with a little bit of powder and wood. It does smell a little synthetic on my skin but not enough to be offensive.
