Paco Rabanne Ultraviolet Metal Beach is reminiscent of the original Ultraviolet, which is not surprising by the way. While comparing side by side, upon sprayed, Metal Beach has a similar fresh spicy bite with ginger and pimento. Then comes the osmanthus, stronger than in the origional Ultraviolet as it's the main role here, without the violet. The osmanthus tends to be more in the apricot side, where it shows some tartness along with the floral aspect, very pleasant and invigorating. Towards the end, the amber and vanilla base mellows into the osmanthus, turning the scent warmer, and this part is more apparent than in the original Ultraviolet. The sillage is soft and the longevity is pretty good for an EDT, around 10 hours. I'd recommend it for those who like osmanthus and apricot. At the same time, as it seems to be hard to find it in stores these days, if you're not looking for an osmanthus soliflore sort of fragrance, I think the original Ultraviolet would do well.

Simplified version of the original. Linear - typical early 2000s - mildly sweet vanilla musk with a barely there touch of waterlily.
