XS

Having been a Creed Himalaya fan for so long I have tried to hunt a bottle for years with no luck, however yesterday while at a local pharmacy I that luck changed! I thought the perfumes were knock offs as many nearby do but after taking a second glance boom I spotted not one, not two but three bottles. I took all 3 for $95NZD, one was a tester 75% full. Although overall I prefer Himalaya this is very good and will be used a ton in the office. Himalaya and Creed in general have the best musky sandalwood drydown in the game in my opinion which this lacks but boy I enjoy this! I truly never thought I would find a bottle! In terms of the current XS I do enjoy them both and find the new version 'pops' more but this could be due to my new 3 bottles being say for years, I will check their age when I am home from work today. This is slightly more green than Himalaya which will be the juniper and mint but not as green as GIT. Himalaya and GIT are cousins with Himalaya being more musky Citrus and GIT more green woody both sharing the same classic DNA drydown of Creed. For me XS slots in between them but leaning towards Himalaya. Overall absolutely happy I finally found some bottles and cannot wait to use It more. Longevity isn't the best but boy does it smell fantastic! 8.5/10 - losing a point for Longevity and half a point for the stupid bottle lid! Makes it awkward to apply 😅

My gf gifted me this fragrance and it is nothing short of incredible. It has an old school, vintage vibe to it that I can really appreciate. Normally, I'm not at all big on frags that are heavy in herbal notes. However, this seems to be the ONLY fragrance that I've ever owned with a medley of herbal notes that actually works with my body chemistry. So allow me to create this scene in your head.... You've been inside your house as the current day's forecast is cloudy, dark, and rainy all day. Then after it rains, the sun starts to pierce through the clouds, the air get's more humid, and everything starts to slowly dry up. Hours later, you walk outside, and an orange tree "magically" appears right beside you (lol). The air that you smell outside is what reminds me of XS Paco Rabanne. It's that earthy, humid, soil-like smell that you get as the steam rises from the ground. But you're also met with wafts of citrus from the orange tree. It's woody, it's aromatic, and the citrus notes add a nice tang to it. It's one of my top 5 favorites and if you can find a bottle for a good price, you'll have a fragrance that will provide you with versatility all year long! Scent 8/10 👍 Performance and Longevity 7/10 (Could be better) Uniqueness 8/10 XS by Paco Rabanne is a very "down to earth" fragrance. 🥁

On me it smells rather sophisticated and complex, it lasts forever and has an enormous projection. While it is better for night, it can be worn any time of the year day or night. Its strong, so you need to be mindful of people with allergies and people that do not like scents. Some people have described it as inexpensive or not complex. I think this might be because it was a tad overused by everyone in the past not as much as because of how it smells. Nowadays it is an instantly recognizable different smelling fragrance. I guess this is one of those that can react different on different people, but then again, most colognes react differently on my skin, usually for the better, but I am not one to be safe on blind buys. To me this is ageless leaning towards a more mature yet youthful man that knows and likes a good time, just not at loud clubs, maybe more at fun but quieter place, or out on a date.

XS is a fresh, Herbal Blast, which may knock you down, However! Let it settle for 10 minutes and you'll be greeted with an intense, fresh, soapy, yet non generic scent. It is a pleasing almost invigorating aroma, the mint and bergamot play off each other, the terragon, juniper and sage add this depth, along with the almost ethereal and dreamy sandalwood, and rosewood Base. It is not your typical Citrus overload, Summer frag, it is a fresh frag, worth having in your collection. If standing out from the fresh as air and water clan is your forte and still want spicy yet heavenly Fresh, then XS is the Best Choice, 212 and XS will always win me over every Summer. I Love. 8/10. And it Projects for 5 hours and Lasts on my skin for almost 10 hours. That's another reason to get this Stunner.

A refreshing open of citrus and herbs greeted me when I first applied this. The balance of herbs and citrus is such that neither dominate. This balance meant that it took me a few times of wearing this before I realised what herbs I could smell. At first I thought I could detect the camphorousness of spike lavender, but then after I applied for the third day in a row it became clear that it was rosemary I could smell - I don't detect the mint. XS has the distinction of being a fresh fragrance with real presence. Yet it is never 'loud'. To me it has the same kind of fougere-type power that its brother Paco Rabanne Pour Homme has, but it evolves into a sweet/woody/musky scent with great sillage and lasting 6 or more hours. This is a superb fragrance for warmer weather.

This is a great smelling timeless scent in my opinion. Its very affordable and offers a classy composition for the money. Ideal for a formal or office environment. Would make a great signature scent for a person 30+ or a younger person who likes a bit of old school flair in their scents. I get bergamot, mint and rosemary in the opening, as the scent dries down the musk, woods and vanilla come through smoothing the composition beautifully. I usually wear 4 sprays and get 6+ hours with good sillage throughout. No doubt Creed Himalaya was hugely inspired from this scent and while I think the Creed does smell more refined Paco Rabanne XS certainly holds its own against a scent 10x the price. Essential classic scent for those looking for a classy masculine citrus. 9/10

I've been wearing this frag since 1996 and had several bottles of this. A couple of weeks ago I got one after almost two ywars since I finished the previous one. This frag udes to be a head-turner on me and I got compliments every time I wore it, but now, it still smells as I remembered it, but not as strong as in the past. I've been waering it for the last four days and no one has complimented me at all even when I got sniffs of it from time to time alonog the day. I love XS over One Million and Invictus. I don't like both of them, but I have to sadly admit that one of my all time favorite fragrances has become a victim of reformulation. The power is gone in the new formula, though it wasn't famous for its sillage, but I used to enoy the way it smelled.

Sleek and elegant, a bit reminiscent of 2000s... Herbal but few mention: sweet. Not in a "candy sweet" or vanilla perfumes but sweet enough for ladies. Modern-classic I would say. Inoffensive and mature. Wear with confidence as a daily, harmless but interesting fragrance. For those who grew up in the late 90s - early 2000s... this will TELEPORT YOU back in high-school haha. Would recommend, on discount and it's better than many many new fragrances (Givenchy Gentleman Society looking at you - SHAME) SILLAGE is... 6/10 (10 would be an elixir concentration or Mancera alike perfumes) Longevity ... 4 to 12 hrs (if overapplied lasts longer) Great great sweet greeny LITTLE GEM!

It is a great fragrance, In my opinion a good fragrance can change your mood and It makes your day better ! A bit mature and classic but it smells so good and very pleasant. It opens up with like fresh citrusy , green and floral notes in the background then dry down is musky woody. This is the best Paco Rabanne Men's Perfume, That was launched before Himalaya Creed. It's perfect for the all seasons. The art of bottle design is very wonderful. I really enjoy it and I love XS Paco Rabanne EDT for Men , I'm so happy that I have it in my collection. Longevity is good. Bravo Monsieurs Gerard Anthony & Rosendo Mateu ! Two Thumbs Up. Rating : 8.5 / 10

I just bought the tall bottle, with purple juice and silver XS and it is a BEST BUY. So so good, yes a little old school, but in no way dated, like Cool Water is, pretty long lasting and such a nice scent, manly, a little playful... simply great. For me this is BY FAR the best Paco Rabanne. I can't believe how good it is and what a good price it has. It's fresh, masculine, a little sweet, aromatic... great great smell. The same type of scent like Beau de Jour from Tom Ford or Eau Sauvage EDP from Dior.

Nose Note #621 This is a lot like Creed Himalaya. Creed must have been inspired by this a lot, they've practically made a dupe. Performance is about the same so I don't really know why you'd pay over for Himalaya. Although! Himalaya is more like laundry detergent and XS has a little bit of vegetable greenness. But honestly - that's only if you really try to pick the difference. I love Himalaya, but this is just as wonderful. 8.5/10, wonderful soapy old school scent

I don't Know why, but this is my favorite fragrance. I love everything about it. Its sharp beginning and beautiful base notes, everything is so great for me. I think it has a very beautiful and mature fragrance that stays with you towards the End. Great longevity, great silage. I just Love this Fragrance and I always have it in my wardrobe. 9/10 Please suggest some similarly mature smelling fragrances. Thanks in Advance. :)

A great scent, one of my earlier perfumes when i start collectiong and it is still one of the best. It resembles to Carolina herrera pour homme in its drydown but for me CH is a little better than this. It starts with bright sparkling citrus opening and gradually dries down to woody musky notes. It is to good to wear as casual as well as formal wear. It has got good silage and longevity. I give it 8.3 out of 10.

This is not a review...i mean not a traditional one. I need this fkn thing. One of my friends showed me this and I felt in love with it inmediately. I heard that this is isn't available anymore. Is it true? I don't care about the new xs i need THIS one :D This thing brings back the good ol'days when things had personality. This perfume also has....a sharp,manly, strange, but pleasant and interesting one.

My bottle is the zippo lighter design made in Spain and old box design but the juice itself is purple. This one is really nice and definitely has a 90s vibe to it but can definitely be worn in the modern era on any occasion. Fresh, clean, soapy, sophisticated and grown-up without being too mature. Dare I say it's even better than current version of Platinum Egoiste.

Holy cow, this is really aromatic. It's like smelling a potpourri of dried herbs with a wallop of oakmoss, and I think that's awesome. It isn't a powerhouse of projection, but XS is manly as hell and lasts more than 8 hours on my skin. It's a sage, rosemary and oakmoss bomb. If you enjoy old school stuff like Quorum or Hererra For Men, then you'll like this.

One of my all-times favourite, now sadly reformulated to a toned-down 'updated' and 'revamped' version. But why? this perfume had it all: not too 'classy', not too 'sticky', not too persistent to annoy your significant other. Maybe because time goes on and tastes evolve? Well, nice move, but not too fortunate.

I used the new short bottle and now this with blue juice this is better performance better focused notes and less CK eternity. I like this better. If you want a hint of smoky note go for the short bottle version. I love both but this is my favorite of the two. Never used the original 90s version.

A pleasant, well blended woody fragrance. Starts slightly fruity and the drydown is distinctly woody. It does seem generic at first but it's got character, and the more you wear it the more it grows on you. It's very good and very masculine. It's one of the best woody fragrances in the world.

I love this perfume. Unlike most of the comments, I think this scent works best in a man with a beard stiff than a teenager. I've had two bottles of this wonderful scent and never got tired of it. It has a lot of class. Mark fills in everywhere. The longevity and projection are wonderful.

Can anybody who has the old bottle with the blue juice help me out? I just got a bottle and the writing on the bottom is painted, not engraved like other PR fragrances, but the batch code is engraved on the side and matches the packaging. Is my bottle real?

Beautiful fragrance, timeless classic from the 90's. Nice fresh opening with a beautiful drydown, very underrated in my opinion and a great buy ( especially since it's discontinued and can be bought for around $50). Very herbal fragrance, a must try.

I have been wearing this fragrance for many years and still feel its a great fragrance. Its a shame more people do not appreciate how good it is as a fragrance. I really like the citrus fruity elements in this perfume. Great stuff from Paco Rabanne

Starts off strong but transforms into a fresh, herbal woody scent. Reminds me of a foggy early-morning hike through the forest Warning: if you don't shower before putting this stuff on, it might enhance your body odor

I don't know , what happened to the longevity of XS. Its not you my dear. the old version, XS written in grey was far long better then new version with XS labeled in silver. very sad, where can I find you my Dear. ;-)

I used it when I was 19 years old, and when Im remembering it, It was quite masculine, maybe even for older guys but I really loved it. It was lasting for 5 hours and the note of bergamot was something new to me :)

This scent is fruity, all Rabanne scents use to play with fruit notes, Paco XS is very useful for many situations, Sharp, but Fresh, juvenile but strong, maybe too risky for someone. I wore it for ten years.

It's a little more screetchy and synthetic than Himalaya but it's still one of my favorite old DNA. This stuff was money in Tijuana night clubs in the 90's! My signature club fragrance back in the day.

This is a chypre fragrance - very fresh and masculine - a staple in my fragrance wardrobe albeit a bit generic in todays fragrance market . I like this one Fresh clean and invigorating :)

pure green love. people keep saying that the greyish XS smells exactly like this '94 original. it ́s not true. and to that creed himalaya comparison: well, guess who was first? 10/10

This reminds me of my dad. he used to wear this all the time... i just need to find a way of layering it with the smell of motorcycle oil and leather, and it'd be perfect!

Very mature modern masculine and i like it a lot...among the best from paco rabbane...when they used to produce classic masculine scents and not commercial money takers.

I bought my XS in 2013 with silver top and gold writing made in France, its lovely and lasts about 10 hours on my skin...

Oh man....such GREAT memories of this cologne back in the mid-90's. I don't even remember where I got this from...I know it was in SOHO cause I got all my cologne around there. Wore this when I was an inline skater...got soooo many good times with girls off this cologne. Wore it to every concert in NYC, MSG, clubbing at The Limelight, wore it to skate competitions, out to dinner....everywhere. Then I wore it to a TOOL concert in Manhattan...Nov 21, 1996...the day I lost it...will never forget that weird and wild day. So...I'd been carrying the bottle of XS with me in my jansport cause it didn't last all that long, I'd respray on the low when in the bathroom or when no one was looking. So we get to the TOOL concert and the band starts playing "Lateralus" and it gets to the build up point where Adam starts jamming full-out and all of a sudden I am flying through the air and I land on the other side of the floor in front of the stage. Literally 10-15 feet from where I was moshing with my buddies. So I shake my head and I look back to where I was standing...this HUGE friggin German dude that was like 7 feet tall is pogoing and tossing people around like ragdolls. My Jansport exploded when I hit the ground so all my stuff was all over the floor. The crowd circled out and cleared the area and I got everything back BUT my XS cologne bottle. Kewl crowd minus the scumbag thief. I went back over to the German dude ready to crack his skull with one of my skates but he picked me up again and gave me this huge hug and bro kissed me on the cheek and said something in German with this huge grin on his face and then put me down...he had me under one arm...another guy under his other arm and we were dancing to the music like we were all old buddies. They have a different sense of comaraderie over in Germany I guess...lol. Anyhow, finished out the concert with my buddies and skated back to Brooklyn Banks...minus my cologne... *sigh* Wild times... EDIT: Just found another fragrance that captures the complete essence/scent of "XS" with BETTER performance, projection and 6+hr longevity!! "BENTLEY - BLACK EDITION"

Reviewing the bottle shown above. Opens tangy, a little sweet, fresh, herbal. Reminiscent of men's shower-gel or maybe an anti-bacterial handsoap (but it's clean and by no means unpleasant). Citrus notes are apparent, maybe lemon with something a little sweeter behind. Up close it's a tiny bit waxy, a bit musty, green & grassy. It's not too sweet, not too bitter (more bracing and herbaceous). Taragon is listed (after a while I do pick up something dry & herbal). A little longer and it becomes very aromatic while remaining citrussy, softly-sweet and fresh. Gets greener, grassier, ever so slightly spicy, remains tangy maybe with some green orange/mandarin notes? Starts to lose a little of the sweetness but becomes airy and "outdoorsy". (As it warms up and evaporates off the skin it does have a "piney", aromatic-metallic coolness). Subtle woody notes slowly emerge and a lovely, green-grassy, slightly bitter, ever-so-slightly nutty, musky note evolves (I'm not familar with the isolated note but maybe it's Brazilian Rosewood? It's similar to something in the original PRPH but with less "soapiness"). The musk strengthens and the similarity with the original grows but with tangy freshness replacing the classic-barbershop accord of PRPH. The woody-musk keeps developing and the composition darkens a fraction (smells a little like a coniferous wood on a dry-mountain-side)... It does smell a tad throw-back, clean and youthful nineties-style. Would suit men from the age of 25 up. Better in spring and summer. Projection decent, longevity moderate about 5-6 hours though lingers on the skin for longer. There's a crossover but it isn't exactly the same as Creed;Himalaya. This has a classic masculine profile. Himalaya feels more modern and has a stronger metallic, musky accord. As someone else mentioned the atomiser on the pictured bottle is one of the best I've ever come across! No faffing, dribbling or misfiring just a straight powerful blast. Much like an old car it goes where you point it... why can't they all do that?

3 notable versions of PR XS: The Original (tall zippo bottle, gold colour liquid), The Original Reformulated (tall zippo bottled, silvery/purple colour liquid), The Modern Reformulation (shorter & wider bottle, silvery/purple colour liquid). I have the original reformated version, so the tall original bottle style, with a silver/purple colour liquid like found in the 2018 onwards newer batches. Firstly, Creed Himalaya cloned this, PR XS came first! This has that beautiful fresh mountain air vibe with Bergamot, Juniper, & Rosemary at the top – Rosewood, Sandalwood, & Musk in the base – then notable hints of Oakmoss, Patchouli, & Geranium throughout. This has more depth and emphasised aromatic notes compared to Creed Himalaya. PR XS is more interesting, but CH is slightly cleaner, modern, and wearable. That being said - this is a timeless classic fragrance that rides the line very well between masculine & having those 'old-school' aromatic notes, while being blended so excellently that it stays fresh and clean enough to still be contemporary and very wearable! A summary of what I believe the differences between the 3 notable versions are: 1. Original - More emphasis on the aromatic notes, and these coming across as more old-school and herbal in style. A stronger punchier fragrance. 2. Original Reformulated - As stated in the main review, I think this actually places right in the middle between the old & new releases in terms of its scent profile, the best of both! 3. Modern Reformulation - I've heard this tones down the aromatics much more, and makes it much softer and fresher. This could make it more similar to Creed Himalaya and more wearable for this day and age. I've also heard it can be less interesting, or even have a feminine sweetness to it though.

Compared to most Paco Rabanne's house of fragrances, Paco Rabanne XS is a discount fragrance. This is when considering it can be found fairly easily for under $50 for 3.4 oz (even under $30) when you cannot really find any other Paco Rabanne that is regularly under $60 for 3.4 oz. That said don't think that this makes XS a bad scent whether scent wise or performance wise. Honestly, XS is a pretty damn good scent. XS performs really good and is a pretty unoffending smell that can nearly be a day time all seasons cologne. It really isn't a nighttime scent but that isn't a bad thing. Not all scents can be, nor should they be. That is something that I need to remember at times. The scent lasts about six hours though up to seven in ideal situations. It projects about at a moderate arm's length at its best. XS isn't like modern Paco Rabanne scents either where most can really sense it is synthetic (a huge knock on most of their wheelhouse except me.) it really smells in between old man and modern scent. It is kind of a less grassy prototype of Carolina Herrera 212 Men, one of the more common modern scent as well as a better Rocawear 9IX. The reason I say this is it is less spice dominating like 9IX and 212 Men are both to my nose. I get bergamot and a little bit of mint in the opening along with spicy terragon; coriander and Brazilian rosewood with a little bit of sage in the middle; and sandalwood and musk in the base notes. I happen to like the scent of Paco Rabanne XS honestly, the mix works for me unlike the more grassy and musky 212 Men or more musky 9IX. I am glad to have this in my collection as it is a nice one to put on a day where you don't do a lot or just a typical day at work. 7.9/10 for moderate length and sillage.

I bought this as a blind buy when I saw a 2016 bottle (judging by the bottle design and batch code) for £15 for 30ml. I did a quick bit of research before buying and most are saying that it's a clean, masculine scent and pretty good quality and man were they right! upon first spray I get a nice fresh scent with a bit of citrus, but not overpowering, which starts to dry down and bring in the rosewood and sandalwood and a far amount of spice which again is not overpowering and keeping the scent smelling clean and fresh. I've been wearing this for 2 hours and I'm still able to smell it very clearly as it is quite a strong scent. I'm not going to say that this fragrance stands out from the rest, because it doesn't. But if you are looking for something fresh for everyday use in work, this would actually be one of my top choices along with Dior Sauvage or Prada L'homme. I'm even tempted to say that it could be good for an all year round casual scent as the spice holds up nicely and I think would be suited well during the colder months.

Reviewing a bottle from 1998. Well, it's clean, masculine and fresh yet cooling and somewhat synthetic. Starts off with a green opening with pine plus a hint of mint and transitioning into violets, which give off a slight metallic feeling. After this juniper and musky cedar with a bit of sandalwood come into play and give a touch of an amber-y base, joined by a huge dose of oakmoss that - surprisingly - doesn't make it feel dated liked other scents from around this time. The strong oakmoss may of course be due to the older bottle. In short, a fruity floral with great projection. I'll have to compare this with a bottle from stores today, to see what the similarities are. Edit one week later : Just tested the new version in a local store today - the scent is almost identical, only has the oakmoss almost disappeared making it much less "butch" and more contemporary. Still a great scent with decent projection and longevity.

I like XS pH. The only other Paco Rabanne cologne I have ever tried is the original PR pH, and it's been years since I smelled it. When I took a whiff of XS I immediately remembered what PR pH smelled like because there is an accord from the original in XS. They are different scents, and from what I can remember about the original, I like XS a little better. They took some of the heart and base of the original and then completely reinvented a new scent around it, with especially long-lasting spicy-minty-citrus top notes. It's different, but unmistakably Paco Rabanne. The longevity is very good if including the base, as even the dry down has some strong sillage. I put this on fresh out of the shower, just 1 or 2 sprays max. It's a strong, sensuous, and sweet musk-amber base, and too much could get cloying. I wear XS for daytime dress or dressed-up casual, unlike the original which is a more formal scent to me.

I blind-bought this, because I kept hearing about how similar it was to Himalaya - sorry just repeating this comparison. But I liked Himalaya a lot, yet not enough to buy a bottle and it didn't last too long on my skin. I'd say the comparisons are apt. Not 100% or even 90%, but close enough for the price (~25 USD). Totally solid buy at this price if you like the initial~mid-lifetime scents of Himalaya. Maybe my nose is just sensitive here but I got nauseous spraying this 2x on each arm and nowhere else, despite liking the scent. On drydown, I personally prefer XS to Himalaya. XS outlasted the latter on my skin, but the latter has more scent development over time, which I can appreciate, but that evolution wasn't to my tastes. Of course, that's entirely personal. Luckily I prefer the less expensive scent this time :) I like this as a solid cost-efficient everyday wear with absolutely minimal spray count.
