Garden Song

The opening is fresh & green from the basil, but I can smell other green notes too. It settles into a bit sweeter & musky base. So nostalgic, fresh garden smell when you were a kid and played outside. Great price value and stunning bottles.

I shall be 100% with my immediate initial impression here: Johnson's No More Tears Baby Shampoo. Yes. From the start. Bath time. Six years old. Throw in some Avon Bubble Bath in the pink bottle, from the 80s. This is giving me flashbacks of playing with my various toy boats: tug boats, cruise ships. Rubber duckies. Now I am recalling those plastic soap dishes from the 70s with the pink or blue marbled bases and white starburst trays, the kinds that could be bought at Woolworth's. And the sound of the tub slowly draining and watching all my toys lower with the water level. Then the pruney fingertips at the end of the bath. Perhaps its the geranium and blackcurrant together that imparts this No More Tears effect, but I cannot get past it. It's a fond scent memory, but unfortunately Garden Song seems to sit right here for the first half of its development, in the bathtub, instead of in a garden outdoors. The second half is Spring Fresh laundry detergent, as if putting on freshly laundered jammies following bath time. This is fun, I do appreciate it, but its not a perfume I'd be compelled to wear.

Green aromatic garden. The center of the composition is the geranium, the greenest between the flowers, and rest of the notes are just there to complement it. There is some spicyness in here, pepper is detectable but not prominent, same goes for basil (forget the basil in front like in Bois Impérial Eau de Parfum ), like if some basil grew up in a geranium flowerbed. Everything is green, aromatic, very pleasant and linear. Blackcurrant provides the counter-melody to avoid the fragrance to go too sharp. It is well done, stays the same for most of its life (supported by the usual racyne musk that seems to be used in every fragrance they release, even if its best interpretation is with the ambrette in Quelque Part ) and it is very pleasant to wear in the spring - summer. Proably it is a little too faint for the cold weather. Unisex. Quite long lasting but do not expect a prominent sillage, this stays close to you. Good work, approved.

i wish i got more of the black currant and basil. it is super musky and just reminds me of laundry. i was hoping it would be a juicy basil. but i guess it does smell like dew just bc it smells soooo fresh. Amazing longevity tho and pretty good projection

Really simple, fresh and clean fragrance. On my skin it didn't really project but it does have some staying power and smells super comforting.
