Neroli

Agreed this is a bit more than just neroli, although all the notes play up on the nuances of that essence. It opens bright and floral, with a nice peppery bite, the honey and musk come out at the midpoint, and ends nicely skin scented. This is how I like my musk in fragrance, btw..quiet and fading vs loud and brash. Too strong, or even too much of the ones I can wear, turn screechy and metallic. Thus, it might be too mild mannered for some. I personally find it strikes a nice balance between too much green form pettigrain, too much soap from the floral and too much musty powder and lands in that Goldilocks zone of 'just right' Also, unless you have a history of comfort with neroli, or white florals in general, despite it's label of 'unisex', I suspect some men will struggle with flowery nature of this, as it plays quite femme to my nose.

Rag & Bone's Neroli isn't especially neroli-dominant to my nose, as the lemon and orange flower create a more general floral/citrus mix that, while pleasant, and clearly containing neroli, isn't only neroli. The dry down is pleasant as the honey and vanilla mix in, but overall, this isn't all that special to me, though I wouldn't mind wearing it, even often, at that. Performance is subpar for a niche-priced ($140 for 50ml) EDP, but I admit I probably wouldn't spring for this one even at half price, as there are more interesting offerings in the line, for sure. ***EDIT: I ultimately acquired a bottle and grew to enjoy the neroli/vanilla mix quite a bit. It's still not as good as Amber, overall, but is a fun twist on neroli. 7 out of 10

A study in Neroli - green and peppery on my skin with enough vanilla to round it out. Goes more floral as it dries down. It's nice. If your tastes run towards fresher, cleaner florals, this could be a fun introduction to Neroli.

I find this one unpleasant, medicinal. I bought the sample package of all the R&B fragrances, Encens and oddity are my favorites. This just doesn’t measure up, imho, to the others in the line. Smells like plastic... or something.

The initial spray, for me, was quite green. And, I thought that it had a quality similar to a fougere scent, even though it didn't have any lavender in the notes. However, as it dried, the greener notes that leaned towards almost an aftershave type smell mellowed and the floral notes came through. Finally, it settles into a very pleasant white floral scent that I love. I agree with artemiss, this fits more in the traditional construct for fragrances marketed as feminine than masculine or unisex.

The opening has a narrow sharpness to it that comes across as heady. It smells a little licorice-y in that its very sweet and a little bit like bug spray. I don't love it but I think it's fine. I'm glad I sampled. 7/10
