Beyond Romance

Sephora's bottle was bad, but it smells very nice. The perfume in the bottle had gone stale, so it smelled very dusty and weird, but something in it really intrigued me. That to me is a red flag tho, and unacceptable, especially when celebrity cheap perfumes last me for years and stay fresh. Sephora's associate told me they only had it on display for less than a year. Update: so i got a travel size of this. Its quite similar to Prerogative Rave (raspberry,mandarin, cashmeran), not a dupe just detect these common notes, Prerogative Rave is not as sweet and feminine. Rose here comes off slightly dusty on me but the more I wear it the more I do not even notice it. Raspberry makes it slightly sour otherwise it smells sweet like a lipgloss which makes it stand out, that's what intrigued me. Id consider it same family as Candy Gloss by Prada, less loud, no cherry (I LOVE Prada Candy Gloss), but ya know that type of lipglossy thick sweetness. Also, same family as BBW's Velvet Sugar, that beautiful addicting sweetness - they kinda have similar drydown. Upon first contact on my skin I get the bergamot so sweet just like when I used to eat it (Im from Greece and we make it whole candied - that's the sweetness I get from here). Then I get the mandarin raspberry sourness, dusty melancholy rose and the musky base. That lipgloss candy scent stays throughout and its drydown and sillage are VERY beautiful as a whole, and not dusty or weird. It smells powdery candy like Barbie dolls in the drydown. Smells familiar, Im tryina figure out what it reminds me of. Nice for spring. Id buy a full bottle. Its weird sweetness is that of the raspberry-mandarin in Britney's Sunset Fantasy which is a lot deeper and heavier as a perfume with the peach and amber but theyre in the same league, that and Prada Candy, a pink candy lipgloss family LOL. When I got home after wearing it for 3 hrs I said damn it smells amazing.

This scent is so delightful to my nose. It just hits so many of those notes that makes my brain all fuzzy with happiness. When I first spray it on, I get a scent that makes me think of some kind of fancy dessert. Like a tiny raspberry vanilla cake that has been soaked with rosewater syrup. As time goes on the rosy part of it fades away to be more sugary sweet hanging around in an aura of sorts. I see a lot of comparisons to cotton candy (which is 100% valid and something I see too), but for me it almost makes me think of walking past a fancy bakery. Like Amorettes at Disney Springs. And that scent clings, I tend to not refresh after first spraying in the morning and people can usually still smell the sugary cloud after my 8-hour workdays. Overall it has a soft vibe to it, but also a little sexy. Sexy in a way that's sensual and cuddly: It's a cute sweater and plaid mini skirt with tights. Not a black cocktail dress. Which I feel is a vibe don't often run into in the perfume world or in fashion if I'm honest. I will admit it is pretty linear, which is honestly fine with me. Most complicated scents honestly tend to just give me headaches as time goes on. But if you prefer something that's more complex, you likely aren't going to find it here. This is sugar and flowers all the way from start to finish. It's also not terribly strong, it's not one that will tell people that you are or have been in the room. But if you like a good 'hugging' scent, this is exactly that. Overall a great scent, albeit one which may not suit everyone's tastes depending on what they are looking for. But if you want a perfume that's soft, sugary with a mature vibe, and leaves an impression after a hug then this will do the job perfectly.

I’ve tried this via tester strips at 3 stores. I’d rather test this in my life with a 10mL travel spray, but it seems like everything is doomed to be reformulated and/or discontinued these days. I wouldn’t mind buying a 100mL for the right price, after re-reading my notes. Ulta notes: (Opening) “Love at first sniff. What I wanted that Philosophy scent to be. Tart fruity modern rose with a vague vanilla.” (Drydown) “DD is tart fruit, tart soap? + tart rose. Pink bar soap? Not loving this part. Reapply for better half. Travel size probably.” Sephora notes: “Best.” lol yep that was it. According to the Sephora visit, I at least liked the opening of Beyond Romance EDP distinctly more than Romance Intense EDP—the newest flanker in the magenta bottle. I swore I tested Intense at Ulta and liked it the most though, so now I’m confused! Gonna have to go test them against eachother again! As far as drydowns go, on the tester strips, I believe I like Intense’s more. Beyond’s smells like dry, tart raspberries, bright citrus top notes, and cold air.. like it’s missing supporting notes.. but it’s probably just the white musk. Intense’s smells more grown-up, possibly mature to some, because it’s much more floral and musky, in addition to the fruit being changed from raspberry to blackcurrant. Blackcurrant seems to be in every grown & sexy perfume these days. Another note from when I tested at another store: “Reminds me of Angel Nova EDP but not so strong or tart. Great!” Not saying they are dupes, but, probably if you like one, you will like the other.

Such a gorgeous fragrance!😍 Beautifully sweet with a kind of sugary candied raspberry and vanilla, soft florals, and creamy cashmeran and musk to ground it all and add a bit of warmth and coziness! Sweet, delicious, and flirty! I fell in love with this while looking for a replacement for Tender Romance. I’d gotten a few samples from Sephora and Beyond Romance and Marc Jacobs Daisy Love Eau So Sweet were my favorites! They’re actually pretty similar smelling! Beyond Romance quickly became my signature fragrance for the colder months of fall and winter! I prefer beachy/coconut fragrances for the warmer weather, but I think Beyond Romance can easily be worn year round! In comparison to the original Romance, I find Beyond Romance to be a lot sweeter, less musky, and still having some floral notes, but they’re softer and the notes are less forward. It’s romantic, feminine and a more flirty version. The performance is excellent! I get great longevity, I can still smell it on me the next morning! The projection is good too! It radiates out a couple/few feet from me! For reference, some of my other colder weather favorites are: Kayali Vanilla 28, Marc Jacobs Daisy Love Eau So Sweet, Gold Sugar, Burberry Goddess, Nest Golden Nectar, The 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods, VS Tease Crème Cloud, and VS Tease Candy Noir

lots of compliments! sooo feminine and pretty, but it’s nothing unique. originally bought this while looking for a dupe/stronger version of victoria’s secret pink warm and cozy body spray. it’s not a dupe, but i could see how some people would say they smell similar. both have a sort of fruity, cotton candy, (not listed in the notes, that’s just what my nose gets from both of them) sugary vibe going on. beyond romance is fruity, sweet, and more floral. warm and cozy is fruity, sweet, and more vanilla-y. anyone who had warm and cozy as a signature scent years ago, layer both of these together and you’ll be happy. longevity isn’t great. i overspray and get around 2 hours of actual projection, and after 4 hours it mostly dies down. when i layer this with warm and cozy, somehow warm and cozy outlasts it and stays on my clothes. i’ve gotten several compliments wearing beyond romance though! i can see myself burning through this bottle in less than a year. this can work year round regardless of the season imo. def would be signature scent worthy if it had better lasting power. wear this if you want to feel cute and feminine!

I don't know why I had never tried this before. I received several perfume samples and of 23 samples, this was the best. Both in performance and scent. Beyond Romance lasts well over 12 hours on my skin (which never happens with designer fragrances on my skin) and the projection is wonderful, too. I get compliments everytime I wear it. I purchased a 100ml bottle and if they'd have had a bigger bottle, I would have gotten it. The scent is really beautiful. It's a linear blend of berries, florals and cashmeran. It reminds me of Armani Code mixed with a sweet, fruity floral. Not what I usually fall in love with but it just works and the awesome performance is just the cherry on top. I find it to be sweet, sexy and flirty, while appropriate for any age group. This fragrance performs better than most of my high end niche fragrances. I have one other designer fragrance that lasts 24+ hours (L'Imperatrice by D & G) but it's pretty much a skin scent, almost from jump, but this one has the sillage, too. I love it!

Oh WOW. I love this, I really do. This genre is so, so overplayed. The raspberry&rose combo, with vanilla, and added musk or soft woods? Absolutely passe. I get it...I totally do. The market is saturated. However, this is best in class. I had 0 expectations upon testing this, and I'm super impressed. It's the perfect raspberry. I don't see how people wouldn't like this, unless they flat out hate raspberry. The rose is beautiful, not too sweet, it's still *rosey*, but it isn't rosewater like many modern releases. It has body. The vanilla and plushy, cashmeran base is snuggly, but still pretty...ahhh!!! Glorious. I really wouldn't improve on this beside adding a bit of sandalwood, I think maybe it just needs a touch more. I'd layer with with Molecule 04 for the desired result, or possibly wear sandalwood essential oil alongside this. I rate this a 9 though. It's just a recipe that works, and Beyond Romance has done it as well as I've personally smelled. 🌹

TMI but I strictly reserve this for date nights with hubby that I know are going to end up in the bedroom. There’s just something about it that makes me feel so feminine and sexy. Don’t expect this perfume to turn heads when you walk into a room. That’s not what it’s for. This one sticks to your skin, your hair, your clothes and once anyone gets close, they are entranced by a powdery, fruity, sweet energy. They’ll want to bite you, hold you, never let you go. I love this perfume and I dare not waste it on the day to day. I savor every spray and I know exactly what I’m getting into when I wear it! Edited to add: I just sprayed this on before bed. It was 2am and my hubby and I were both tired and just wanted to go to sleep. He started to sniff and kept kissing my arm and inhaling and asked me what I was wearing because it smelled addictive. Needless to say.... We stayed up for a while lol!

I sniffed it in Ulta and immediately had to buy it. I wasn’t even planning on buying a perfume that day. They only had the medium size so I bought it out of impulse. I got home and decided not to open it and waited til today when I could exchange for the largest size. I’m so glad that I did. It smells like a grown up version of cotton candy. It’s very girly and has a slight hint of sexy thrown in there too. I could totally see this as the fragrance to wear to spring parties, bridal shower, baby shower, etc. honestly I think it would be a nice bridal scent too. The projection is really good too. I can’t speak on the lasting power yet though but I’ll update after I get a good idea. I have the OG Romance and to me, they smell nothing alike. If my 16yo daughter was into perfume I would get it for her also. Just a great scent overall.

I just don't understand why more people don't know about this perfume. It's the best thing from Ralph Lauren I've ever tried. Bottle matches the scent. Beautiful, Feminine, soft sugary raspberry creamy vanilla. Good longevity but not a beast mode projection which is okay- Not every perfume is meant to be a beast, ppl! This is subtle, no better yet- alluring kinda sexy kinda fun but definitely soft feminine. Perfect for close encounters, it has the effect of people wanting to get closer to you to catch another whiff. Perfect for a night in with your man - Netflix & chill 🤣or whatever. Perfumes that give a similar vibe/experience ~ Orchidee Vanillee, Poison Girl edp, Kenzo flower l'elixir. None of those smell like this just a similar type of vibe. They all have a soft intimate ultra feminine feel to them 💖

Literally my favorite perfume ever!! It's been my go-to since my junior year of high school, and now I'm a sophomore in college. It's a beautifully sweet, slightly musky scent but not super strong. It lasts foreverrrr on me and my clothes, and the longer it sits, the better it smells. I'm not good at describing the notes in scents, but it's a nice, somewhat floral scent, but not like a grandma floral. My only complaint is that it doesn't project much (granted, I could just not be spraying enough because I can smell it on myself all day), but if people are close to me, they almost always compliment it. It's the perfect warm, sweet, and true-to-the-name romantic smell that is perfect for pretty much anything, although I'm biased because I love the scent, so I wear it for everything.

I love beyond romance. It's simple and feminine. To me, it's a very youthful fragrance. It's very sweet, but not in a way that is nauseating or cloying. It opens up with a heavy raspberry top note and a sort of cotton candy like scent. About 30 minutes later the florals start to show, but they're very light which is what I prefer because I'm not a huge fan of florals. It just enough to make the perfume a little more interesting. At the dry down it smells like raspberries still with toasted sugar. It definitely is very sweet, so if you don't like sweet perfumes I don't think you'd enjoy it, but I love it. This perfume reminds me of that famous pink tulle strawberry dress. Super feminine, optimistic and likeable. The sillage is pretty good and it lasts about 7-8 hours on me.

Beyond Romance is one of my favorite fragrances and is so underrated. It's kind of sweet, but not gourmand territory. The raspberry + rose blend is perfect - the raspberries are almost sparkling and crisp while the roses are fresh. The combination of the two is just great. Love the vanilla and musk because it rounds out the rose and raspberry. This is definitely a safe year round fragrance, but I prefer it in the colder months because the vanilla really comes out. I feel like rose haters should give this a try, especially if you love raspberry. The sophistication might surprise you! Also, for me, the longevity and silage is very strong for the price point (100 bucks for 100 ml is my pricing sweet spot). Beyond Romance is definitely a winner.

I absolutely LOVE this scent, but every single time i show it to someone they say it smells nostalgic in a middle school perfume way. They say it's a compliment, but the connection makes me feel childish when I wear it. Very sweet and fruity with less overwhelming florals, it can feel very girly and similar to the cotton candy type scents you'd find in middle school. I personally love the way it smells though regardless of feedback, and it makes me feel cute when I wear it. Out of all the romance fragrances this one is my personal favorite. Not overly sweet and artificial, but the candy like sweetness lingers in a way I find to be very appealing. If sweet scents aren't your thing, this one won't be for you.

One of the best i’ve smelled...the raspberry note is sweet as well as being tart, rather than just “juicy.” It’s usually what i prefer for fruit notes; i am a fan of sweet, clean fruit scents. the vanilla is creamy and musky without being sickeningly sweet, which is great because i’m not a fan of buttery, birthday-cake vanilla scents. There’s no patchouli, which makes me nauseous. the florals in it blend beautifully into the scent, and there are actual several notes in this perfume that i tend to stay away from (citrus and muguet). they compliment it, rather than overpower it to where i can smell them individually. Overall, it’s a sweet, fruity, musky scent that i feel comfortable wearing in every season.

My SDM doesn't even like to give me SAMPLE VIALS when I make a purchase!! 😆 **note to self: start visiting that SDM instead** lol ;) As for the review, I totally agree: this perfume is amazing!! It also has fabulous longevity, especially on clothing. Perfect for most occasions, and a perfume I will definitely be getting a full bottle of. I would rate it 9.1/10! If you like "Wonderstruck Enchanted", and "Daisy Eau So Sweet" this is pretty similar...like the sophisticated and grown-up older sister to those two. (I would describe the three as BR's a woman with a degree, while WE and DESS are a pretty college student and a bubbly high school student, respectively.)

this is what young love smells like; it's the giddiness of having a first crush and the stomach butterflies that flutter with every furtive interaction. it's simply a nice fruity-floral; the raspberry, vanilla, and rose are the main players that work together to make something so sweet and perfect for a sunny day. lasts about 4 hours on me, and I definitely have to overspray for better projection, but I don't mind it at all. it's almost like a lovely little secret just for me to enjoy. I like wearing it on its own for an instant mood boost or when I want to feel cute and feminine, but I can see it being great for layering. if I run out, I will 100% be repurchasing.

This was love at first sniff for me. To me it smells like raspberry vanilla ice cream with some powder and musk. My step mom thinks it smells like cotton candy. I saw it being compared to Daisy Love Eau so Sweet. When I compare the two, Beyond Romance is the more refined and grown-up version of Daisy Love Eau so Sweet. I get 4-5 hours on my skin and I do wish it lasted longer. However, I am willing to deal with that because this is one of my favorite fragrances of all time. 2023 Update: I still really like this fragrance, but these days I have to be in the mood to wear it because it is really sweet. It's a cold weather/special occasion fragrance for me now.

This is a very pretty and sophisticated fragrance for people who love raspberry and creamy amber vanilla scents. It’s got a lovely sparkling top note of raspberry, with a burst of citrus that’s almost reminiscent of champagne. The dry down is lovely and the white florals and raspberry notes stay for the wear almost giving the cozy musk and vanilla base a nice subtle kick of flirty-ness. It’s sweet without being too sickly. It’s also grown up enough to wear if you’re over 30:) Not for anyone who’s looking for that classic clean smell that original RL Romance has. This is a totally different sweet and fruity vibe with a sexy cashmere dry down.

OH. MY GOD. if i could marry a scent this would be the one. this one right here. holy .... 💳💥💳💥💳💥💳 i have been on a deep hunt for a perfume smellalike to pink warm and cozy. this is the one (thank u fragrantica for the “this reminds me of” section) it smells IDENTICAL. it is warm and sweet but inoffensive (nothing like aqualina Pink Sugar) but wow it has that cozyyyyy vibe like i can’t even explain it. bottom line it smells exactly like my favorite scent of all time. i sprayed it on myself in the store today and it seems to be lasting! i will purchase immediately this will become my signature MORE PPL NEED TO BE TALKING AB THIS
