Polo Blue Gold Blend

I sell fragrances to a small group of people who are not avid collectors such as myself but they do enjoy a good fragrance at a decent price, and this is one of my best sellers recently. I owned Deep Blue Parfum and I got rid of it because it was extremely close to ADG Profondo but didn't perform nearly as well off my skin. So I recently sold another one of these and I snuck a single wearing out of the tester bottle they were purchasing. I know, I know I shouldn't have done that but I just really wanted to get in at least one full wearing before I pulled the trigger on a full bottle. This stuff is pretty close to the $60 mark even for a tester which is definitely on the higher end of designer pricing for me. Well I'm a little more than an hour into the first wearing right now and let me tell you, as someone who is definitely a "Blue fragrance enthusiast" I can tell you that this stuff is freakin awesome!!! Definitely the best in the Ralph Lauren Polo Blue line of fragrances, and even as good as the Ralph Lauren Polo Red Intense and Extreme, which are two of my favorite cool weather options. As much as you and I both probably wouldn't believe it, and definitely not coming from a Polo Blue flanker, for the first hour this stuff just gets better and better. I KNOW RIGHT? Usually that is where others in this line are getting ready to sign off. But this stuff is just getting good at that point. Now admittedly I don't have more than sample experience with the original Polo Blue EDP, but based solely on what I have smelled when wearing that one it's nothing remotely close to as good as this one. The Incense really goes well with this DNA, and I know that it's not listed in the note breakdown, but I'm definitely picking up on a really, really nice ambroxan note. They do have it listed on the breakdown for the Deep Blue Parfum, but I'm getting way more here than in that one, and this fragrance is frankly light-years ahead of that one in both composition and in performance. So if you want a more modern, much, much better performing version of the Polo Blue DNA look no further. You have definitely run across the only option to even consider at present.

Polo Blue made modern. Finally RL revives the scent. I get lots of very natural sage, melons, incense, cardamom, pepper. I think this one will do very well. I instantly purchased it. It smells fresh but extremely versatile. It’s so so soooo good! Edit: AMAZING drydown. Patchouli in the back. This is perfect for a PROPER comeback of polo blue edt. I always felt Parfum and the other flankers were underwhelming. Polo should’ve just released this instead of wasting time and money. I think there is also an almond note in the very deep base of this. Something gives it a slightly metalic drydown. or maybe im having a bad day. It's a good metalic though :D to add more: The incense here is better than bleu de chanel incense. Really well done RL. Hats off. Moderate sillage and it's lasting a lot longer on my skin than any polo blue flanker i've tried. edit: it lasted 10 hours today and i could still get whiffs of the drydown +++edit: really beautiful graprefruit in the drydown. better than Issey Miyake or Bleu de Chanel. One of the best and most natural grapefruit scents that keeps drawing you in, even after the opening is gone

Polo Blue Gold Blend Ralph Lauren I'm really impressed with this fragrance! I like it much better than Polo Deep Blue that I still give a like nod to as well. I can attest their is no redundancy in owning both. From the first sprays of the opening it's a true blue: citrussy, aromatic, fresh, yet slightly spicy from the pepper in the top. Then around the 1 hour mark the base notes of Incense, Amber, Patchouli and Vetiver begin to move in overlaying and as time continues to pass, transforming this fragrance into a scent that to me oozes sophistication. (Hence the Gold Blend label cap and band around the Blue bottle) Performance: well above average for me. 4-5 sprays (which at times I think is possibly borderline cloying, but no complaints yet ;) out the door no decant needed for me (which is unusual). Projects strong to the 3rd hour then a noticeable scent bubble to the 6th before fading more so to a skin scent with every passing hour but yet still a skin scent at the 12th hour mark... But don't take my word for it, grab a sample and see for yourself. Enjoy! :D

I dunno, to this day i personally think the original polo blue edt is still in another league compared to sauvage, Y, ect. Its blue technically but its like the "rich guy who wears polo green in the cooler months unironically"s blue fragrance. Anyways, this is polo blue getting the adg profumo treatment as far as the changes compared to the original. You probably would have the same opinion you do of the original wether that be love or hate. The notable differences here are #1 performance, this performs much better than the original edt which i usually get maybe 5-6 tops hours from and never projects too crazy. #2 is the additional/amped notes. The melon here isnt necessarily totally natutal but almost like the sweetness of a melon (not too sweet) combined with an almost mossy patchouli base. And alot of this IS base and its awesome. You can literally wear it anytime but in the summer this will project pretty strongly for hours, in a good way and it lasts all day plus as far as opening to totally gone. Props to Carlos Benaim, possibly best perfumer ever

Had to revise my post after a full wearing. This is a Benedict Arnold. The opening is outstanding. In the same family as Blue EDP, but different enough to own; however, the dry down is a traitor as it jumps into the Bleu de Chanel family. I guess it could be the offspring of the two; super cute at the beginning like Blue and then growing up to be like Bleu. I might try to layer the two old ones and see what happens, but it will not have the sage and incense opening that makes your teeth sweat. Longevity is par for the course for a Polo product. Fragrancelock or a good lotion needed to extend the life. Very warm fragrance but I'm not sure it's a summer only fragrance and I am not sure it's a classic aquatic either. Decent fragrance overall. I just wish the opening hung around the whole time.

This is a Great Fragrance and Flanker ! Fresh, Citrusy, Spicy and Woody. I received It as a Gift for New Year. I really enjoy it and I'm so happy that I have it in my collection. Unfortunately, It is discontinued ! It opens up with fresh spicy, citrusy , warm spices and herbal notes in the background then dry down is a bit smoky musky and woody. I do get the DNA of Original and the Ginger note is very vibrant in the opening and undertone, The Incense note is dominant in the dry down. Easy to wear and Easy to love. Polo Blue Gold Blend is A Combination of several perfumes Dylan Blue, Bleu de Chanel, ADG Profumo and Polo Blue Original. The Art of bottle design is very wonderful. Longevity is good. Highly Recommended. Two Thumbs Up Rating : 8.5 / 10

I smelt this one a few weeks ago. It's quite nice. I've never owned a Blue fragrance from Polo, but I feel like I should. I'll definitely need to revisit this one. I will say, it is certainly darker than the original Polo Blue, which I like. Gives it that slightly more versatile feel. The bottle is absolutely beautiful! I love the use of the golden insense, it really gives the fragrance that special touch. Edit: 4/13/19 I went out and bought this. I smelt it today again. I absolutely love this one. I guess the first time I smelt it, I was overwhelmed because I had been smelling fragrances all day. This is the flanker to buy from the Polo Blue line!

Gingery, fresh, incense, citric and fruity describes Polo Blue Gold Blend. It's a discontinued gem. My dad bought in 2019, but didn't like the smell and gave it to me earlier this year when I started getting into fragrances. It is by far the best flanker of the polo blue line. Arabic brands should make a dupe of this, like they did with YSL's La Nuit de L'Homme Bleu Electrique, another discontinued gem. Perfomance is also pretty good, solid 6-7 hours of longevity and good projection in the first hours. You can rock this one in pretty much every single occasion and it will give you compliments

Wow.... this beauty blew me out of the water! Having tried the original Polo Blue and found it too generic and common-smelling (your standard one-in-a-million scent), this indeed rocked my boat just right. Having grown tired of the 'old' Dior Sauvage, Dylan Blue and Bleu de Chanel, this blend was just perfect, smooth yet with a spicy edge, just like gold...

My favorite part of this fragrance is 2-4 hours in where the pepper, sage, and incense are prominent. The profile during that time reminds me of Armani Encens Satin, but Blue is not as dry as Encens Satin. I've been wearing this off and on for awhile now and this is probably one of their best fragrance releases behind Purple Label.

I have all the Polo Blues and this one is at the top. I love EDP, and this one reminds me of that one but the Gold Blend adds a nice depth with the ensence, amber and patchuli to the EDP. I nice blend of fresh, fruity, and spice.

The reviews feel off. This is not something I'd ever wear in the summer. Great versatile fall/spring and even winter scent. I'm happy I tested this in advance. Will update this later.

Polo Blue EDT OG is my favorite all-time aquatic freshie - but this one is better. A true Gold version: smooth yet spicy, crisp yet sophisticated. For true Polo Blue fans!

Smells like a blend of Polo Blue EDT, Polo Blue EDP, and Bleu De Chanel EDT (because of the added ginger and incense notes). I really like it. Bring it back!

Very good blend of being fresh, sweet and mature. Really noticable and interesting. Performance and projection are very good.

I miss this scent so much. It’s such a great scent that carried me through high school. Really sad to see it discontinued.

This is a very Sexy, Romantic perfume to my nose one of the best male fragrances ever made, makes me swoon.

This IS the BEST polo blue , period!

If I had to pick the best but synthetic smelling fragrance it would be this. It is definitely the more unique Polo fragrance. Good for daily use, it's an "I wear cologne" type of scent but not necessarily bad. Can be described as fresh citrusy but slightly spicy, enough to bring out the MAN in the fragrance. Very very very long lasting projection, probably the longest in my collection right now next to Dior Homme Sport. And I always compare these two together even though they're nothing alike because I always describe them the same way. Both fresh and citrusy but with a sprinkle of spice that adds some boldness, amazing performance and longevity. This one? Very versatile. Almost any occasion. I'm also a Ralph Lauren man myself and own a lot of Ralph Lauren so I see myself wearing this with a lot of my outfits. You can definitely see the typical Ralph Lauren man wearing this. Just fits the vibe. I would say Polo 67 is SLIGHTLY better however in my opinion and embodies that better.

Since I’m a fan of the original Polo blue , I just had to try this when I found a 125 ml for 45€. It’s indeed a nice flanker, amped up a notch with richer, spicier ingredients. Opening is like original blue, more bitter lemon as it quickly develops into more spicy-peppery and dries down with incense ambery warmth. Nice and cosy. It feels like a more exclusive edition of the previous releases (edp and ultra blue) which were not projecting that well. This is better, I get almost 7-8 hours, then closer to skin for another 3-4. For me this can be used all year, it probably shines more at night though, whereas the others are more daytime summery scents. Age: any. And the bottle is gorgeous too.

I have this, Deep Blue, and EdP. I would say EdP is probably the least salty/gingery of the trio and has a more pronounced fragrance. Deep Blue is definitely salty, but also has that background note of citrus and florals. Gold Blend is gingery, but also dries down well after about an hour and leaves you with a nice scent that is ambery and masculine. Projection isn't huge, which is good for most occasions. (If you want big sillage, chances are good that you are scoping out the wrong brand.) I can't pick a favorite from the three since they all have a unique personality. If you want something spicy and unique, go with Gold Blend. Overall Rating: 8/10.

To me, it's just another Polo Blue. Being a fan of the blue line, I felt underwhelmed by all the reviews I've seen of this perfume and how it actually behaved on me - it may be my skin texture since sweetness is always more prominent in me than smoky notes (ADG Profumo being another example of something not popping out of my skin as should). Does not smell like ADG, but smells a lot like Polo Blue EDP and K Max by Natura. Still a pleasant perfume, though it didn't work for me.

I’m making an update, I wore this last Friday a night out at 10 degrees C. I sprayed more liberally. First one-two hours was really like a spicier version of Nautica Voyage. I guess it was the apple and melon combination. I didn’t get any prominent apple at all upon first wear at spring time. I know some people have a problem with Nautica Voyage smelling too synthetic. Performance wise, still above average and it actually lingers a long time on your clothes.

The reviws saying its a spring summer scent I feel like isn't true, This is a very night winter/fall scent. Super shart and strong and very good. I don't like the way it sprays but other than that I love this scent and cologne.

Got a free sample of this, as soon as my girl smelled it on me she told me I smell like her late grandfather. It smells good and refreshing, very versatile.

Not bad but in next wearing I make more sense

To me this mostly smelled like "cologne" in general. Rather than any particular notes, it harshly and insistently evokes the men's fragrance counter at JCPenney's. Maybe I just have that association because Polo probably dominates in sprays and sales at the department store. Not offensive, but if a man wore this I wouldn't really think he smelled 'good' or like anything in particular. I would just note that he is wearing cologne. My boyfriend, his brother, and his brother's girlfriend had similar reactions. Of course, none of them care about men's fragrances, so maybe we're all missing context.

I seem to be nose blind to ambroxan so I can’t appreciate this fully. To me it’s a nice slightly above average scent that doesn’t last or project and definitely isn’t worth the ~$65 cdn I spent on it. I have the same issue with sauvage.

I don’t like the aquatic smoky feel to it so just alone on the scent it’s a no. If you want a blue that similar but doesn’t have the aquatic accord to it go with Dylan Blue.

Is this what Richard Herpin used to insipire precious liquids salt & pepper? I’m surprised nobody has mentioned that it smells almost identical to this from what I remember. It’s not a bad scent, but this is a typical early 2010’s fresh & peppery fuckboy type of scent that Ronnie Magro form Jersey Shore would wear on a night out on the town about to hook up with girls as he cheats on Sammi sweetheart yet again. Edit: Wow this smells amazing when it’s cooler. It’s got some sort of sexy smokiness from the incense that comes out more. I really like the scent but it’s weak. Might try adding some m02 and see if I can get it to project & last longer.

Wanna know what this smells like? Go to your cabinet, grab the ground up ginger, put it to your nose and there you go. That's polo blue gold. Pure strong ginger is singing very loudly in front of you and polo blue is singing along at the back of the room. Sure you can hear him but with that ginger slapping you in the face, you won't.

Too much designer grade incense over the original blue DNA. Why bother? When I think gold, I think richer...why not throw some light labdanum in there and make the original blue a tad richer and a tad sweeter? But instead we have a dryer, dirtier version of the original

Horrid trash. Has the wretched "Mall Note" in it. As soon as I smelled it I figured it had ginger in it. Ginger is the worst note in perfumerey.

I was excited to try this one based off the listed notes but it was quite underwhelming. I can hardly smell it on my wrist after a short amount of time. I have it on my left wrist and AdG Profondo currently on my right one. Profondo not only smells better / more fresh to me, it's also projecting and lasting much longer performance wise.

A nice fruity, woody, spicy, floral, calm, inviting, mature, masculine fragrance that was beautifully blended. Nothing unisex, juvenile, or macho man-ish about this aroma. Definitely have that gentleman aura to it. From the note breakdown this appear to be a spring/early fall fragrance. This would be a bit overbearing to wear in the humidity & wouldn't perform & unfold well in the winter. Nothing really groundbreaking about this fragrance. It's not an attention grabber, a crowd pleaser, or a panty dropper. It's not offensive & it's a boring scent, but overall it's still nice to have in your collection. The longevity is pretty good. But I normally layer my cologne with essential oils that are inspired by the fragrance itself to get the performance that I truly desire without having to keep overspraying myself to get that scent trail I like leaving behind. I would only wear this for. 1)Job/Office. 2)Gym. 3)Spring/Fall. 4)Daytime. 5)Running a few errands. 6)Outdoor activities. 7)Hanging with the fellas. 8)Dressing casual or sophisticated. 9)Attending a formal event. I wouldn't necessarily reach for this. 1)Summer/Winter. 2)Evening/Nights. 3Clubbing/Partying atmosphere. 4)Dressing down, sporty, or vintage. 5)Hanging with women. 6)Trying to be noticed.

"For Want of a Nail" is what comes to mind with this one. It's true that the current Polo Blue was in dire need of better performance, but as we all know, designer fragrances just lower the components quality/concentration/performance of their original fragrances and then just launch flankers that seem to have good performance because people compare them alongside the poor performing reformulated "originals" in the department store. Well, Gold Blend was the attempt at a better performing fragrance, however they eliminated the only original note of Blue (Cucumber) in order to create Gold Blend, making it essentially a very generic overpriced Nautica Voyage clone that, despite claiming to be EDP, performs like an inexpensive EDT. So for the want of better performance, the only thing good about Polo Blue was lost. Not even worth a try this one, just get Nautica Voyage, Azzaro Chrome or any of the many cheap generic deodorant spray sport fragrances available.

This one is a bit of a letdown for me. It's not even as good as the Eau de Parfum, which I also felt was just OK. The original remains my favorite of the whole line, even to this day. It's just right. Back to Gold Blend, it really smells extremely similar to the Eau de Parfum, with the addition of a little incense and ambroxan. It also feels like the green notes are just a touch toned down. If you didn't have the EdP to compare to directly, you'd might never know this was a different cologne. But if you smell them side by side you can notice the differences. The other huge similarity I smell is that of Versace Dylan Blue. This could really be called Ralph Lauren Polo Dylan Blue. I immediately noticed the similarities with the ambroxan, incense, and patchouli combo. I'd venture to guess this is what they were aiming for. Anyways, I think I'll pass, unfortunately! Beautiful bottle though.

Smells like a (date) night version of the original Polo Blue to my nose. Not dark and heavy (thankfully), but the spiciness adds a nice kick and this is a scent to be remembered the next morning (if you get my drift LOL). Nothing groundbreaking to be sure, but pleasant and easy on the nose. EDIT: I got a sample of this out of curiosity and all I can say is YES GAWD. Some may find it trash, insipid, mall scent, whatever, but baby this ticks all the boxes off in my olfactive brain! EDIT #2: Okay, I have to backtrack on this one because the ambroxan/amber wood, whatever aroma chemical annoys the heck out of me right at the dry down. I know it's not listed in the note pyramid, but my nose swears it's there and it ruins this otherwise great scent.

Polo Blue Gold Blend smells pleasant and inoffensive, but I’m sorry there’s nothing Gold about this fragrance. I was expecting a deeper, more refined iteration of the original, but this is too fruity and ambery for the name’s sake. Dare I say this smells like a distant cousin of Abercrombie and Fitch First Instinct. However, it is nice and safe for the office, although personally I’m not sure I would wear this if I was older than 30. It will generate compliments, though. No doubt. Longevity is excellent, and the projection is right on the money for an office scent. I’m on the fence with this one, but if you’re younger than 23, it would be an excellent signature scent.

it is really nice, however to my nose it smells extremely like nautica voyage so much so to me i found my purchase redundant after as i already own the other. it isn't exactly the same, it does smell more expensive and well blended, but it still is strikingly similar enough to not need both in my personal opinion. if you are a fan of nautica voyage and want to try something much similar or maybe stronger i say yeah buy it. its fresh aquatic extremely safe summer scent. i would say best for beaches, gym, walks, casual day time dates, at home maybe the office if sprayed lightly. the melon is very noticeable. if you like melon.

This one really intrigues me. You dont see sage, incense, and melon on many frags, however you smell this and instantly know this is a Ralph Lauren. Super good aquatic blue mass pleasing frag for a younger guy. Im 22 and I would really rock this. Performance is nothing to scoff at either. 6 hours, a good hour of projection. If you need just 1 or 2 frags, this would definitely be a recommendation from me! Scent: 8.5/10 Longevity: 7/10 Projection: 7/10 Versatility: 8/10 Price Value: 8.5/10 Overall: 8/10

This is one of the few scents that I didn't even need to wait for the sample. I smelled this one in the store and immediately had to get it. I'm generally pretty frugal, so to not even hesitate to purchase this one was big. I don't second guess my decision, BUT...as delicious as this smells, I don't get great performance with it. As an EDP, you expect maybe a slightly toned down projection but a longevity beast. I get the exact opposite. Overall: Excellent citrus/blue/freshie.

Okay, another once hesperidic by design fragrance slowly morphing into the oriental bracket, so we have Armani’s ADG, Chanels’s Bleu and now the quintessential masculine Polo adding a golden caramelised flanker. Without having tried and reacting purely to the listed notes and design accents, less brisk/biting and smoother to the nose?... More to my oriental tastes, yes... but shouldn’t this be part of a new line instead?

Basically a little spicier Polo Blue with an Ambroxan kick. I really like it though. Fairly versatile & I get decent longevity from it as well. I usually wear this on more casual days though. I think I prefer this one over the rest of the Blue line. Kind of hard for me to believe that if you enjoy the Polo DNA you’d be disappointed in this one.

Yet another disturbing dry down brought to you by yours truly Mr. Ambroxan. So sad, cause without it this fragrance would have been great. It seems like Tonka and Ambroxan are taking over the designer market these days. I honestly can't imagine the next thing to come, can't get any worse than this.

If you layered Polo Blue with Montale Dark Aoud, it would be Polo Gold Blend. The band-aid oud touch gives it a bit of refinement, and makes it a summer-able oriental, but the backbone of aquatic, ozonic blue makes a bit of an odd pairing. Very nice but not a FB in my opinion.

Love the smell of this, but unfortunately the performance is just terrible. Immediately a skin scent, and after an hour it’s gone entirely on me. I may give deep blue a shot as I know the two are similar. This would be a “love” if only it performed better!

The first polo blue I've ever tried, so far so good, it reminds me of Van cleef in New York a lot, which is a good thing because that is a very good scent. Longevity seems to be very good though
