Polo Red Eau De Parfum Extreme

#1652 in my “Tour de Fragrance” Got this as a 2ml sprayette from scentswithsense.com. I liked Polo Red Parfum. This is much better. There seems to be some confusion about the notes. These are the notes from Ralph Lauren: Amber; Woody Notes; Leather Accord; Red Ginger; Vanilla Bourbon. This has a nice spiciness that I would attribute to red ginger. I find this a very attractive scent. But for me, unlike some reviewers, I’d wear this in daytime warm weather. The silage is arm’s length and there’s nothing about this that will offend anyone, so car pool, elevator, small office safe. I’m getting about five good hours on the skin before it’s just vanilla, which is typical longevity of all the Polo EDPs. I think it’s a daytime causal fragrance but you can certainly wear it anywhere and around the clock. Just doesn’t strike me as formal wear. More something you keep in your gym locker. Most of the sellers I usually go to aren’t stocking this yet. Amazon, Macy’s, Dillard, all want $135 for it which is about double what I’ve paid for the other Polo EDPs from sellers like Jomashop. So, I’m getting a bottle of this, but I’ll wait until other online retailers I use have it in stock where I expect pricing will be under $70. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

This is CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED on here. The ginger opens bright and fresh, then vanilla and leather close it out with actual refinement. Its shockingly better than you'd expect at this price point. Versatile, VERY long-lasting, and projects really well. Compliment count: my 3-year-old approved it, and so did the Costco door checker. Two demographics that don't lie. Only gripe is the bottle looks like it belongs in a gas station display case. Toss this juice in a YSL Private Line bottle and people would lose their minds. Don't let the packaging or these lame reviews fool you.

I find this a masculine slightly sparkly vibrant ginger and bourbon coming through a dark leathery accord which I quite like the feeling it gives me when I wear it. I consider this one a little bit underrated

This one just appeared out of nowhere. I was walking in Dillard's, and the gentleman who usually helps me in men's fashion was wearing a strong fragrance. It wasn't bad, but it was pretty overpowering. I asked him what he was wearing, and he said the new polo red. He showed me, and I bought it. I don't know if he oversprayed it (he said he just sprayed it twice), but it was projecting like a monster. I bought it, and when I wear it, I have to be careful not to overspray it. Do I like the scent? Yes. It is like every other vanilla scent out there. Nothing groundbreaking, but nice smelling.

I can't lie gang the first 5 mins are fucking harsh(I am not a ginger/spicy not fan). Although once I get past the first 15-ish minutes, it settles to a sexy, sensual, and sweet scent. I have been complimented on this one by all the office ladies who are my number one critics. It's a decent cool weather dumb reach fragrance. Smells like a mix of Polo 67 EDT and Ralph's Club New York. It's not going to blow the socks off most of the folk on here, but the general public will find this appealing. It smells good, has decent performance, has decent silage, and people have complimented it and asked me what was I wearing. Retail is at a price decent, but will be a much better buy in a few months from discounters. I got a bottle to review for free so feel free to take what I say about it with a grain of salt.

Vanilla heavy, very strong, warm and reminds me a touch of Dior Suavage Elixir. Go to your local Macy's and grab a sample vial first.

Simply put, it smells good but the performance is weak.

Tested this after spraying it on my arm at Sephora. I can definitely see some people really liking this from opening to drydown. But, this is not to my taste. I'm not really sure that the drydown is what I'd like. There's a strong suede vanilla combo, but it's like there's something extra in there that I dont want and something missing. I wish that ginger lasted a bit longer. Not at all a summer fragrance, fall winter only imo. It's nothing like the rest of the Polo Red line, it's a huge departure from Polo Red Parfum which I love.

Ralph's new Polo contribution for colder day wear. This is a step up from the usual Polo releases. You can definitely smell the Polo DNA running through it but it's like it's grown up a bit. It's got more body, a bit more depth and a bit more interest with the ginger and mild powdery leather. Is it revolutionary? No, but you will smell good for around four hours. This makes an ideal present as it's mass appealing yet...... .......what I'm trying to politely say is, it's boring but pleasant but boring.

When I tested it on a paper strip, it smelled great, but on my skin it does not develop as nicely. For some reason, it just does not react well with my chemistry. In certain ways, it reminds me of the Philipp Plein No Limits line. I own the Super Fresh flanker, and at first I could not stand it. Over time, however, it really grew on me and is now one of my favorite fragrances. Maybe it will be the same with Polo Red Extreme. Perhaps I just need to wear it more and give it some time.

Definitely different, ginger and leather is noticeable. The try to make a new Polo Red is noticeable here but not wearable. Not great pick and there's other good fragrances.

I prefer the 2017 polo red extreme version.

The ginger and leather combo is nasty in the opening. The dry down smells like any other polo cologne musky/manly. Definitely pass on this one

I thought the opening was ok but the leather note in the dry down smells too synthetic to me.

Another underwhelming release from RL

This is my first review on the site, I normally keep my opinions and thoughts to myself as perfumery is very personal and everyone's interpretations are different, but my gosh is this awful. Opening is harsh and screechy, very confused BO smell. Dry down is better but still not my cup of tea. I suppose if you like leather, you may like the dry down but I think there are much better designer alternatives if that is the scent profile you are after.

No on every level. This is just so bad. It’s harsh, smells cheap, it’s everything a designer fragrance is hated for.

This is not a generic release in any way, shape or form. This does not smell like a bunch of other current designer frags. It reminds me a bit of a couple discontinued fragrances: Supreme leather (which I was glad to see mentioned in the “this perfume reminds me of” section.) and unleaded by DKNY. The smokiness, bit of leather balanced by the original dna make this fantastic. This lasts a long time on my skin. It is a bit of a throwback scent, and is certainly not a vanilla-forward fragrance, although it is in here. The ginger is spicy and vibrant in the opening and is a strong departure from the rest of the line, much like the original polo red everyone was. And that is where I think some of the dislike comes from on here. People thought this would be a re-release of polo red extreme, and it is not. I get the disappointment, because I too loved that one. This is its own thing, and it is fantastic in its own right. I see more postive reviews rolling in after we are getting past the “I hate it even though I never smelled it and I hate it because it is a Ralph Lauren fragrance” crowd. This may not be for you, and that is ok. It is definitely different from the line itself and what is being produced today. Ralph Lauren has put out bangers in the past 10 months: Ralph’s club New York, 67 Eau Extreme, (I think the 67 EDP falls into this timeline too) and Polo X eau extreme. The price is more than right too, which I respect. Designers are not supposed to be dragging past 200 bucks for 60 or 100ml bottles. Ralph Lauren understands that.

Polo Red Parfum with the fruits replaced with ginger and a hefty leather note added. That is pretty much it. There is very little vanilla in here. This is absolutely nothing like Eau d'ombre leather, or babycat. I don't know what those folks are smelling, but this isn't those. It does remind me a bit of Bleu De Chanel l'exclusif. But a much lighter version. I think that if you like BDC l'exclusif, you'll like this too, since they are in a similar wheelhouse. To be clear, this is from one wearing with an entire 1.5ml sample emptied on one wearing. I wanted to get enough on-skin to make a fair judgement. I quite like it. Nice to see from a designer house. I'll probably grab a bottle once it hits discounters. But what do I know. I don't have a youtube channel or tiktok (never been on it). I assume that is what is needed nowadays for 'credibility' lmao....

Too leather heavy imo and certainly not a viable replacement for the OG Polo Red Extreme. Too many fragrances have been ruined by polarizing mega-dosed leather accords in the past year. There are other ways to make profiles smell "extreme" than leather bombing them. It's nice, but this is much different than the OG Polo Red Extreme and should be something you get your nose on first. The best fragrances in the Polo Red line still to date are the discontinued Intense and Extreme, with the best active "in production" iteration likely being Polo Red Parfum, which plays a nice mature balance between those 2 disco'd flankers and this newest "Extreme" leather bomb.

If anyone is expecting any Polo fragrance to be the next best release of the year....you are going to be waiting a very long time. With that being said, this is a nice departure from what they have done in the past. I recently got this for my birthday along with 67 parfume. Both are exceptionally great for the value and will get compliments. Red is definitely a bit more challenging than anyone would expect for Polo, but it has a leather/ amber dry down that smells fantastic. The citrus opening is a very nice touch. It actually gives it a depth of transition that not many fragrances do these days. 7/10

I’ll be honest I didn’t expect much from Polo Red Eau de Parfum Extreme when I first tried it. I thought it was just going to be another decent scent in the lineup, nothing crazy. But man, I was wrong.From the first spray, it just hit different. It’s got that bold, warm vibe but still feels smooth and clean at the same time. As it settled on my skin, it kept getting better and better I couldn’t stop smelling it. It’s the kind of scent that really grows on you quick, and before I knew it, I was hooked.

Opening was really damn good reminded me a lot of a mixed drink like a ziggy pineapple amaretto. But then the leather creeped in and ruined the fragrance which happens 9/10 times lol. And never even looked at the notes till now but a bit surprised there’s no fruits. But the leather is pretty detectable and slowly get more prominent and over powers the nice mixed drink smell I mentioned

I really love this fragrance. Can’t wait for Polo Red Elixir containing Red Orange, Red Brandy Vanilla and Red Leather. There are also rumors of a Polo Red Absolu with only two notes: Red Musk and Red Amber. I’m kidding of course, although those do sound exciting.

I need this! I'm a polo blue main (that's my signature fragrance) but I also LOVE polo red! Sooo good and this remake is even better. Shall I order it?

I might be the only one that gets a fruitier sauvage elixir from this. It is strong and pleasant. I don’t get leather at all.
