Polo Red Eau de Parfum

For the longest time, I wore Polo Red intense as my signature/going out fragrance, and for date nights/ casual settings. When polo discontinued the polo red flankers leaving us with only the EDT, that was a pretty big blow. This is almost a 1:1 to Polo red Intense, but not quite. The reviewers saying the cranberry scent is gone are wrong, it’s still there, it still smells like Polo red, it does smell less prolific, it’s just slightly more citrusy and for me, it makes the scent slightly more versatile at the cost of some of the uniqueness, which I will take given that 80% of my collection are spicy oriental fragrances. What used to be a winter/fall scent is now a spring, winter, fall scent and can be worn at night if it’s ~85° or cooler. It’s a really sexy fragrance, very sporty and very manly. Like an exotic sports car. My hope is that if I continue to let it macerate, it will smell like my 2018 bottle of Polo Red Intesne

Polo Red Edp is Polo Red Edt with two major changes: 1) The fruity top notes have been tamed. This is an improvement, because the edt has a citrusy opening that never seemed to transition smoothly to its drydown. With less citruses, the cranberry note is more identifyable in the Edp, which is also a plus. 2) The performance is significantly better. That is not saying much, since Polo Red is a very subtle and underpeforming fragrance that calls for overapplying. The Edt has better projection during the first 15 minutes, but then the Edp takes the lead and projects farther and for a longer time. The velvety nuances appear early and stronger, which makes it more enjoyable. All in all, this is a very welcome addition to the Red line and a better option than the Edt in every respect. If you like Polo Red, you must like Polo Red Edp, since it is basically the same fragrance with some improvements.

Polo Red Eau de Parfum Ralph Lauren for men is the best polo fragrance aside with the original green and the missing supreme oud. its modern perfumery. unique ,fresh, comfort, rich deep scent ,seductive, nothing wrong here. its very similar to the one i wear these days ,last drops of my signature gant 2011 without the aquatic notes gant has,...one of my favourites! doesn't smell fruity or coffee like other red, its totally different for those who didn't like red series. the only red is the colour of the flanker. projection and longevity with 3 - 4 sprays its good for one day . to me its in the same class with blue channel , fahrenheit and la nuit ,,great sexy man's fragrance!

To me this is one of the best Polo Fragrance to date. Better than OG green. The new green is probably second. So about how this smells. I like that you do get a “red” profile when smelling this. It smells like sweet and slightly sour red citrus. I think it is excellent. It seems all year type of scent to me which is nice as well. It may be a little too sweet to some but it’s definitely not overpoweringly sweet. Don’t understand nor agree with the negative reviews.

I can't get enough of this fragrance. I have to spray it three or four times a day because it doesn't last very long, but I love the opening notes as much as the bottom notes so I don't mind. But RL makes their fragrances weaker with a nice opening note so that we will use more of it. It is shame, because I would like it to last longer, but I don't mind so much because I like the top notes! Great for the office, and casual wear. Love this scent.

A perfect blend of Intense and the original all blended to a nice smooth scent, its pretty damn awesome. If you love the red line you will love this, I am so happy I didnt listen to any of the silly online reviews. This fits perfectly in with the red line and is easily one of the best casual designer lines, I absolutely love it. Great release, great purchase, I'll get a lot of use from it and I always get comps from polo reds.

I don't know why so many people are hating on this. I just got a sample and I can't wait to buy a bottle. This smells great on me. It has an oriental and young vibe to it. I'm a 30 years old male and this smell appeals a lot to me. This is a fragrance you can wear all day, at the office or in a date. I feel like you can't go wrong with this.

The perfect fall scent. It's a beautifully balanced and easy to wear fragrance, ideal for the cool autumn weather. It's subtle enough to be a great office or everyday choice and won't overwhelm those around you. Love the cranberry note here. If you are looking for something simple for a fall season then look no further.

soft projection and sillage for the first 1-1.5 hour, but for the longevity i can actually still smell this really close on my skin after 9 hours indoor. got this $61 for 200ml

I’m blind buying this right now, because polo has a great red series. Just ordered another polo Extreme too. Polo red is a quality fresh sweet manly scent.

Its smell classic No fancy bulls**t...its just like old skool basic perfume for everyday use...very versatile and No regrets for blind buy picks..❤

This is an easy and attractive wear. Grab and go, just spray away. Layer it over Prada Luna Rossa Sport and create a little magic.

Good, but the "spice" is just not there

The fruit in the opening is more cranberry-like than in original red, more tart and longer-lasting, which I really enjoy. However, I think the ginger-lavender-sage combo really smells like Noxzema to me, which is kind of a turn-off. My love-hate with this fragrance is that the very sweet vanilla-woody resins in the bass show up almost immediately after the top notes start to wear down, so throughout the rest of the fragrance, that's really all I can smell. I wish there was more contrast between that and something else, but there's a lot of herbal zest that picks up the resins and makes this a good fragrance. Overall it's significantly different from red EDT. It's warm, dark, and attractive. Not as good as EDT but a good flanker for sure. Scent- 6/10, amber, vanilla, fruit. Great combo, but I'm not sure it's blended as well as it could have been. Performance- 8/10, a lot of criticism for this one's performance but it's potent on my skin for sure. Blind Buy- No, definitely request a sample and take some time to experience the really quick dry down to the amber/resin blend. That will most likely make or break the fragrance for a lot of people, it's quite blunt coming right off the tart fruity opening but I enjoy it. Other Notes- Probably not worth the price to be honest, but the performance holds up for me. I see it as a date night fragrance for sure, but there's a lot of different opinions about nearly every aspect of this EDP, yet another divisive Polo flanker.

So I tried the Polo Red EDT, I loved the scent but I wanted more power. I found out about the Intense, went to purchase and it's discontinued. Checked out Extreme, same thing. So I haven't gotten either of those. Finally I decided to just try the EDP and wow, exactly what I was looking for. Maybe a little more gourmand than the EDT and a little less fresh, but what a fantastic every day scent. It's like Polo for the new millennium. It's got a slightly smoky, sweet but not too much vibe with the chocolate. It's delicious. It seems difficult to find fragrances that don't smell like clones. The Red line stands out on it's own and this is perfect. Some people complain about the performance of this, but I got around 6 hours maybe more. I think it's perfect for work, smells nice, not huge sillage so you're not killing everyone in the room, but you're gonna smell nice and masculine.

It’s a safe pleasant fragrance for cooler days...similar to EDT, but with a pinch more depth. Opens with a rich ginger/cranberry combo. Cranberry is deeper than the EDT...and certainly sticks around longer. As it dries, the sage and woods become more pronounced to blend with the cranberry. This certainly will please most...if not all. Longevity on me is above average. Projection is below average...which is fine by me and lets me wear it in businesss settings. Where this last longer than EDT, EDT pushes more (makes sense with the oil concentration). Fall through spring and most occasions. Overall, it is certainly what I have no problem wearing when I’m considering others. It’s safe and mass appealing. Certainly not something I would reach for when I’m wearing one of my favorites...on my time. Sample before you buy.

Got this on a whim for $25 at a discounter for a 40ml bottle. Went into it with fairly unbiased expectations since I own 0 RL fragrances, but I am pleasantly surprised. After using it is definitely a fruitier and warm fragrance and has a loud cranberry note in the opening. The dry down is a lot different from the opening, too. It’s a pleasant but tame smell, not as loud as the opening, even possibly a little bit woody and spicy. Didn’t last very long on me (3 ish hours) and as such is probably a short date night or going out fragrance, not for long daily wear. Still, it smells good. What else can I say?

This is closer to the EDT but has some Intense DNA as well, more like roasted tonka and not much of that coffee vibe. Paid full retail because I loved the EDT but performance was lacking. I have to say this is a great scent, but performance is STILL lacking. Buy Intense if you love the citrus aspect with a twist, buy Extreme if you want a colder weather fragrance with a ton of coffee influence. Red Parfum is Meh for the line, but very pleasant, just wished that opening lasted....love that sweet cranberry! Bottle 6/10 better in pic Scent 8/10 very nice Performance 5/10 Overall 7/10

It’s an easy wear, cranberry-led fruity sweetness gradually getting ambery, musky and ever so slightly resinous. There is a nice woody accord in the mid giving body to the sweetness. The clary sage blossoms are in the background giving a subtle bubblegummy vibe, not too much. I appreciate the fact that that there is no tonka or vanilla, makes this a good choice in casual situations. Smells very synthetic on the strip, but much better on skin. Best to keep expectations low and appreciate it for what it is, competent for its price segment and overall pleasant.

Polo Red Eau de Pafum I am not much into Polo fragrances because they are not my type. but with this, the truth is that it is addictive, if someone has identified the aroma of red bear gummies that is how it smells. If you like sweet sweet aromas, I recommend it to use it daily in spring and summer. the duration is perfect and the wake is good the first 3 hours later it goes down with the time but perceptible. I feel it's better than the original.

I actually blindbought this one because i got 20% off, as the below rewier already have stated i can confirm that this is a pretty generic scent, the usual spicy sweet and mass appealing fragrances that they have released in the past years, nothing special or new, plesant for sure but i think you know what im talking about, try it and buy it when it has been heavy discounted it is still pretty good as a casual scent.

Polo Red Eau de Parfum by Ralph Lauren is a stunner. What an amazing opening, with a great combo of cranberry, grapefruit and ginger. I love the immediate fruity candied sweetness that propels in the air upon spraying it. It radiates for about 1 hour upon application and suddenly becomes a woodsy skin scent. What a bummer! I surely wanted to last longer. it's certainly a crowd pleaser but lackluster in performance.

Love the scent but the performance is underwhelming. Someone reviewed that it smells like a red gummy bear and now I can’t get that out of my head when I smell it. It smells like a fresh, sporty, woody, red gummy bear 🤣. Nice while it lasts, would be a favourite if it performed. As it stands it’s a nice one for now and then or around the house

This was my everyday fragrance in high school and I had the first formulation which I believe was much better than subsequent ones. Tip of you are looking for polo red definitely get the silver cap edp version. Great red scent that really stood out among the polo frags. Sour and spicy with a earthy sweetness. Great stuff

Definitely the most different and interesting of the Polo line, but also one of my favorites. The fruit and amber give it a very 'red' scent, if that makes any sense. The spice is very faint, but helps create a manlier version of a red candy smell. Like all Polo, projection and longetivity very average.

Received a 1.2ml tester. its okay, its opening is creamy and oriental and thats where its has a bit of promise. It just doesnt really change much. Its very generic and no where near the nicest of its kind. Doesn't project much nor does it last that long. Its a miss for me, 5/10 at its price point.

Polo Red EDP is not a bad fragrance. My only problem is it does not last too long or project that good. I can see this as a signature scent for someone who would like it but this would be better for casual wear not serious settings or date nights.

It's a generic, sweet, bubblegummy fragrance. Similar to 1 million. Longevity and projection is good, but not great. Bottle looks great, but juice is overpriced. 7/10

pretty decent! nostalgic to me, since it's one my dad wears often. i would have liked it to be a little stronger

I got a sample of this posted and really enjoyed it, then paid full retail and got a 75ml bottle and is nothing like the sample. The scent is OK but performance and projection is poor, lasts about 1 hour before the scent starts disappearing and within that hour the projection is weak. Never smelt the EDT but from what I’ve heard, people prefer that to this. I expected more from a Ralph Lauren fragrance and must admit I feel duped by the sample which strangely performed and projected a lot better than the full size scent. For me, a forgettable fragrance and not worth buying.

Ehhhh. I smelled this at Macy's, swore I ordered the right one on eBay from a seller with 99% positive ratings, maybe I got a fake but I don't think so. This cologne is so disappointing and boring and weak. I have polo blue to edt which lasts much longer and smells way better. The peak of polo red edp is ok, generic scent profile, just a sort of sweet vanillic slightly woody scent. My least favorite cologne, with trash performance. Save your money. Buy hawas fire if you want a bomb ass red cologne.

This was my 2nd Retail purchase since i got into the hobby after the falling into the rabbit hole, it's like a very generic scent, good for gyms and room freshner type scent, which is what i mostly use it for these days. The scent profile is apt on fragrantica, not very aromatic tho. Would recommend eros flame, kenzo or any acqua d gio perfume if you want a freshy type perfume

As tommytlee said, the opening is bright and refreshing (and kind of promising), with an abrupt transition to the very sweet end of it. It's hard to imagine an occasion that will accommodate both of that: weather, mood, ambience, etc. The creators were probably unable to settle on a direction, so they decided to stitch two half perfumes together!

A childhood friend of mine had a gift set in the early 2010's that included Red, Blue, and Green. This one i remember having a spicy slightly fruity cranberry smell. Smelled like the thanksgiving break and Christmas. I did not like it as much as Green and Blue.

smells a bit cheap. gives me nausea after the opening stage passes. not getting any coffee. just sweet cranberry with sage and woods in drydwon. some people may like it but not a solid release. probably will get discontinued after a while.

Grapefruit amber The silage smells better than it does on your skin. Kinda “stuffy” like you can’t actually smell it past the amber. Its ok, would not repurchase, good fall evening frag, performance and silage moderate, dry down just amber

Way too sweet and fruity imo, until it dries down into a spicy ambery fruity. But performance sucks so not worth it to me. At 3 hours with almost no silage it’s a big no for me.

WEAK. Don't bother. Unfortunately, the quality and sillage of Ralph Lauren Cologne is NOTHING like it was in the 80's and 90's. Bought from Jomashop.

There’s nothing special with this cologne. It’s your typical 2020’s man smell.

I got a sample of this for my husband, thinking it was the "Intense" version (which sounds lovely!), rather than the EDP. To me, it's not bad...but it's not really special, either. I must say that I agree with @dorianinu that it's a very "Axe"-esque scent. Unfortunately, my husband is not keen to wear it. Oh well...one of these days I will find him a scent he actually enjoys!

I have smelled other bad scents but this is the most generic Axe smell I've tested in the last years. 100 $ in Sephora for this chemical mess?? And that bottle doesn't even look like the one in the picture, it's actually a cheap ugly transparent red. 2/10 from me.

I have the Polo Red EDT and Polo Red Intense. I like them both a lot. I was hoping this would smell very similar, but would be stronger, its not. On my skin, its just more citrus-ie.

agree with the folks below, pretty standard youthful scent. if i close my eyes i can almost smell a hint of the ambroxan from the (in)famous Dior Sauvage...
