Polo Red Pride Edition

This is definitely nothing new from the Red line from Polo. I do say I appreciate the pride logo though, definitely great to show representation! I do think this has a bit of extra something though that differentiates it from the rest. While Red Extreme is my #1 from the line, this comes as a close second. Definitely recommend!

I really like RL's Polo Red fragrances. This fits right in with the others. The DNA of the original red is in there. Dries down nicely with a sweeter scent than the original. The woody aspect is in the base, but it is different, just as described. I look forward to wearing this as it upsets all the right people.

Tad bit sweeter than the other flankers, but also has this herbal quality to it. The way the sweetness is structured around the herbal nature of the sage reminds me of how Coral Fantasy by Valentino is structured. As it dries down, the woods start to dominate. There's a some what harshness added by the dark woods but it's not overwhelming. Mediocre performance, as expected from a Polo fragrance but does its job. Overall, it's pleasant and one of my more favorable flankers of Polo Red. Only reason it's rated so low here is because of the childish nature of some people. Honestly a pretty solid fragrance.

First Pass - Very citrus. A little musky, a little powdery, hints of coffee 2 Hours Later - Still citrus, more powder, faint florals 4 Hours Later - Warm amber and sweet powder. Slightly fruity Overall - Pride Edition (2020) is the latest flanker in the Polo Red Line. I enjoyed it better than Red Rush (2018) and the original Polo Red (2013), not quite as much as Polo Extreme (2017), all 3 of which I have reviewed separately Unfortunately, Pride Edition resembles Red Remix (2019) to a fault. Have you ever noticed how identical twins are never quite the same? There is always one that’s a little more symmetrical, a little better looking Pride Edition is the lesser twin of Red Remix. Had I not already reviewed Red Remix, I would have felt this fragrance improved on many of the shortcomings of the red line. However, in comparison to the other, Pride Edition lacks the velvety decadence of Remix’s roasted tonka bean, and while very similar, and even very good, it is thinner, flatter, and overall weaker ***Scents, like tastes, are subjective. Wear what you like***

Even ignoring the obviously shilling on the part of RL (which prevents me from taking this perfume seriously) I can't tolerate anything I've smelled with Amberwood. So I marked this one down as "extreme dislike." Do better, be better, Ralph Lauren.
