Ralph's Club New York

This is my new signature fragrance. As soon as I saw the notes I went to Ulta to smell it and immediately fell in love and ordered my own. Black currant, bourbon vanilla, orange, balsam fir, sandalwood and geranium are some of my favorite notes in general. This stuff is amazing. Sweet, woody and fresh. Perfect for year round wear, mass appealing and it lasts forever with great sillage. I have the type of skin that doesn't hold fragrance for long but this one manages to linger for hours. Very masculine but not overly generic and not headache inducing for my girlfriend who is sensitive to strong colognes. Ralph's Club New York opens with a sweet blend of blackcurrant and mandarin orange citrus with just hints of bergamot, the lavender isn't too strong (doesn't give barbershop) but is well blended on top and inside. The dry down is predominantly a very strong yet soft vanilla and creamy blonde woods. Balsam fir keeps it sweet the entire time (very Christmas Tree-ish) and underneath everything is a slight essence of bright florals. As for comparisons, it does not immediately stand out as similar to any of the fragrances voted above (seems people are voting anything with the name New York in it) but I'll say it's adjacent to the smell of Abercrombie stores/Fierce, yet modern. The drydown almost reminds me of Scandal Absolu by JPG, caramel-y woods. It does not smell like Myslf L'Absolu to me, it just has a similar "sweet & fresh" vibe. Myslf L'Absolu is more like a laundry detergent while this is not. Does not smell like the new Prada Paradigme or Hawas to me, at all. Finally, for me this is by far the best in the Ralph's Club lineup, closest to the EDT. I would agree that it is closest to the Polo Red DNA in terms of RL's other fragrances but this is it's own thing. 10/10 on all fronts. I foresee myself consistently purchasing this for as long as they sell it.

When I was in Heathrow I sprayed this on one hand and Polo 67 EDP Extreme on the other. Had I known I could have gotten EDP Extreme 2 weeks earlier than the rest of the U.S. I might have bought it for the flex, but I was actually blown away more by Ralph's Club NY at the time. I'll own both eventually, but for today I get to enjoy this beauty. Bright aromatic mandarin and juicy sweet blackcurrant open backed by lavender that grows more apparent in the heart alongside sandalwood giving off a fruity fresh yet grounded sensation. The heart lingers for a while before darkening into a warm, masculine base of vanilla and mossy fir; that vanilla comes forward into the heart to make the sandalwood texture feel creamy similar to how the lavender sneaks into open to aid in an almost fougere freshness, creating multiple bridges to the fragrance's complexity as is dries down. The overall scent profile is amazing and reminds me of the first time I wore Coach Platinum EDP, which while a very different scent somehow evoked the same fresh masculine, playful yet mature concepts. Both that Coach and this Ralph's Club get a really high love rating from me. I can't wait to also try layering them as it could tease out the geranium while enhancing sandalwood in addition to creating a more diverse fruit cocktail open as pineapple and blackcurrant intermingle, all with a suede-like creamy smoothness.

This is a really nice one. I LOVED the opening. It's so bright, fresh, and fruity with a tad bit of spice to balance it out. It's honestly amazing. I was so excited thinking I'd buy a full bottle, but as the day went on, it became a bit more generic. The drydown smells very much like Dylan Blue, Invictus, etc. Because of this, I can't see myself buying a full bottle. If the smell of the opening lasted thru the drydown I would have immediately bought it. But as it is, it's just another blue fragrance to me. I'd buy this second hand for $40 or so, but no way I'd pay retail for it. EDIT: I've gotta say, even though I already loved the opening, this one has really grown on me even more after finishing my decant. The opening is even better than I already thought, and the drydown is better too. It still slightly reminds me of Dylan Blue / Invictus, but it's more elegant, which a powdery vibe to it. It's perfectly balanced in terms of sweet & spicy. It's not too sweet, not too spicy, but a perfect blend of both. This could easily be worn all year round, even in the summer (with probably the exception of extremely high heat). This one is a love for me now, and I'm searching for a full bottle to add to my collection. Very great scent by Ralph Lauren.

This is gorgeous stuff. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it sure consolidates the fresh & sweet trend that's been around for quite some time now. Starts off very vibrant, fruity and bright, and settles into a quite creamy woody vanilla that lasts. The lavender at its core gives it a fougere touch that adds masculinity and versatility. It's a good jack of all trades, especially for the crowd under 35. More mature men will have better options, and it does feel more fun than serious (more casual and outgoing than formal / professional / romantic), but you can still pull this off in any occasion and feel confident that you won't offend anyone, quite the contrary. Just keep it light on the sprays when going to work, as this thing performs very well, and during the hottest days of the year, as the sweetness might become a tad cloying if you overspray. Other than that, it's one of the very best releases in the designer world this year. And don't listen to people saying this smells like YSL Myslf L'Absolu or Prada Paradigme. Prada Paradigme is a whole different vibe and while Myslf L'Absolu does feel like it's in that sweet/clean/fresh ballpark, they're still completely different scents. 8.5/10

Picked this up on a whim while at Macy's checking out the new polo 67. I ended up grabbing both. I see some people here complain that this is juvenile, but the reason i bought it is to my nose this a nice slightly more mature version of the popular "blue" fragrance. The black current is nice and very interesting. I think that's part of what makes it more mature to me. The apple in many of these scents always comes across as teenager to me. This is richer and with the vanilla lavender comes across almost melon like to my nose. The dry down feels very familiar in general. You know it soft vanilla with light florals behind. The modern blue thing. This is probably my new favorite of the type as i am finding it more pleasant than Dylan blue which would have been my previous preferred of this type of scent. These in general are not my favorite kind of scent (blue) but they make a great dumb reach and this is solid option for that. I'd give it a 4, but giving it a 5 based on my experience with other fragrances of the "genre"

The fact that some people are comparing this to MYSLF L'Absolu is extremely concerning... had both tested on a strip and the openings are way different and the drydowns are even further. L'Absolu is extremely floral, it's okay but very one dimensional and smells almost feminine. New York is also semi-bright/floral, but in a completely different way. New York has a very strong (and nice) blackcurrant note, especially in the opening, but is also a little citrusy, earthy and woody, and has a noticable dose of vanilla mixed in there. It has way more going on. I don't have this fragrance, but let's just say that once it hits discounters, I might be picking it up. It seems very versatile, however maybe slightly more geared towards spring/fall (moderate temperatures) in my opinion. The only reason someone shouldn't get this is if they don't like the blackcurrant. However I didn't know I liked it until smelling this but apparently I do. Give it a try!

I’ll be honest, it’s very nice. It has a very high end feeling It’s mass appealing and inoffensive. To me this is ysl myself adjacent, done via Ralph’s club’s finesse, but with a hint of sauvage elixir... just a hint. So To me because of the black currant, sandalwood, bourbon vanilla, & fir, combination it has a slightly fall/winter festive quality to it in that could work for day time but seems more suited to a “cozy” day than an office “work” day. That’s just how it leans to me. And that’s not a knock at all Bottom line, where is the sweet spot? This would be a great office Christmas party or New Year’s Eve party scent. Something in the vein of going out dressed nice to a semi formal but fun night out. This is not necessarily a clubbing scent but more like a roaring 1920s, swing club, big band, steam-punk night on the town kinda scent. This is what Gatsby would wear to one of his parties. Get your nose on it

Too may folks on here trying to push their narrative. Like music, fragrances are subjective. Right now, I’m listening to the deathbed compositions of Mozart and Beethoven. It’s a very interesting listen from my perspective. They wrote very differently when they knew they were dying. Would I recommend that other people listen to these songs, promising they would enjoy them? Absolutely not. That is the same with fragrances. We should always shy away from saying something is “bad”. To each their own. I have this. It smells good. It’s not as expensive as some of my niche scents like my Rule Of 72, by 27 87 and some people would find that too oppressive. This is a great scent for 2 reasons. My wife legit drools over it and I can wear it anywhere when I’m in dumb reach mode. Stop over analyzing this sh*t guys. It’s not that big of a deal.😉😂👊🏽

This smells nothing like that new Prada Paradigme! I do not understand why people even think that it smells similar. Sure it has a sweetness to it, but that black currant gives you this red fruits, slightly tart opening.. that is 100 times better than the Prada. Paradigme smells like the most basic fragrance I have smelled in years. New York smells like a more indie niche fragrance called Aventish Red but Red has more of a sweet-tart Cranberry with woods. I truly have a feeling New York is going to be a hit this fall and winter season. This is a beautiful aromatic sweet Red fruits, slightly creamy vanilla woody fragrance. This is the best scent in this line. The others are basic like Paradigme but New York is different seductive and flirty. To me this one is unisex unlike the others in the line as well.

Ralph’s Club New York by Ralph Lauren—my latest, ultra-lovely obsession! For me, this is a 10/10 designer gem. Juicy, sweet black currant + sweet, citrusy Italian mandarin orange + luminous, vibrant, aromatic lavender + rosy, sweetly blooming geranium + the creamiest of woody sandalwoods + creamy, sweetly delectable vanilla + hints of evergreen fir and oakmoss. HEA-VEN-LY!! This was incredible when it arrived a little over a month ago, and now it’s downright phenomenally gorgeous! A perfect balance of orange and black currant, lavender, geranium, sandalwood and vanilla. I’m utterly bewildered as to how this has escaped more praise and attention, but I certainly am not complaining. I kid you not, this is skyrocketing up my list of recently acquired fragrances. The more I spray, the more I love.

Went into sephora one day to get a gift for a friend, and was checking out some fragrances and after smelling this I bought it on a whim. Fruity in the opening from the black currant backed by a lavender that dries down into a lighter blend of the two with the sandalwood coming in to tone down the sweetness and add some clarity. Then ultimately landing on a slightly creamy blend to it all from the bourbon vanilla with that fruity and woodsy blend from the previous notes. Really versatile and not overbearing at all with no lean for season or time of day really in my opinion. Has that sophistication and mass appeal to be worn throughout the year, but can be a bit pricy at retail.

A Blackcurrant Bomb! At least to my nose. This has a blackcurrant blast of an opening which is really nice, fresh, uplifting and vibrant. It's a feel good fragrance, every time I have worn it I have enjoyed it. To my nose, the blackcurrant still plays a big part in the mid and even the dry down, where it does get a little woody and aromatic. This is an all year round fragrance, day or night, with really good longevity, and suitable for almost every occasion. I don't think it is a blind buy (what is?!), because you probably need to love blackcurrant to enjoy this fragrance. Overall, to me, a fun, uplifting, bright fragrance that I find myself reaching for quite often.

Ok, first this has absolutely no resemblance to Paradigme Prada and none at all to YSL Myself L'Absolu. No idea where anyone got that idea. This is a delightful blackcurrant vanilla, Paradigme is a standard issue woody amber made only slightly better by the benzoin and L'Absolu is a mediocre ginger floral. Ralph's Club NY Parfum actually surprised me when I wore it. Solid performance and sillage. Starts off with a fruity black currant that stays throughout but dries down beautifully with the vanilla. And there is a really nice subtle note with the vanilla base (the fir? with the currant) that makes the drydown really enjoyable. Way better than I was expecting.

This is a very versatile, easy reach, even signature scent worthy fragrance. The performance is also solid in terms of projection and longevity. I've seen some people call this generic smelling but to me this is quite unique. The opening is very blackcurrant focused, it leans a bit bubblegummy but still has an earthy resinous to it. You do get some of that mandarin in there to brighten it up and some aromatic lavender to freshen it up. As it dries down, you also get the creamy vanilla and sandalwood combo that stays soft and subtle. It manages to be fun and sweet, but also mature and fresh. Very polished and classy but doesn't take itself too seriously

This is rated far too low for how good it is. Easily my second favorite in the Ralph's club line, with the Elixir being the first. And what in the actual F$#k is going on with the 'reminds me of'? This site is a dumpster fire sometimes... Edit/Update 8/14/25: Smells great, last a good time on-skin. Projection has improved slightly. Was considering returning it initially, and I am absolutely keeping it. I really like this. Probably one of the best designer releases in recent times. Edit/Update 9/25: Looks like the rating is finally catching up with where it should be in the mid 4's someplace....this stuff is really good for a mass market designer...

Really like this perfume, started with a 10ml and ended up getting a bottle. Its fresh but elevated with a black currant sweetness and a vanilla base. It remains pretty linear and the black currant persists into the dry down which I think is a virtue. Performance is good enough. For some reason it reminds me of a JPG Elixir type of cologne in the way it feels via its sweetness, performance, and application, though a bit fresher. The best use case for this would be a warm night out, but I wear it whenever. Overall its definitely sticking to the mass appealing meta that's made designer fragrances so popular and I'm very fond of it. 8.795/10

IMO, this is the best designer fragrance that’s come out in the last 2-3 years. It doesn’t smell like anything from the “reminds me of” section, it’s completely unique. The opening is heavenly, the dry down is great too. You can wear this all year round, it last 8-9 hours & projects heavy to moderate for 2 hours (almost 3 if it’s hot outside) on my skin. I would try to find a deal on this, the retail price is ridiculous, or wait until it hits discounters. 11/14 women whos opinions I ask about on this, immediately loved it (the other 3 thought it was basic but good). I really don’t have much else to say about this, it’s a great fragrance.

Tried this in a Macy’s while I was visiting Orlando and I couldn’t help but buy it. This is way different than all the other Ralph’s Clubs in the line and I love it. It’s sweet and seductive which makes it great for going out but versatile for casual situations as well. I feel like this is a fragrance you can wear all year round as well. I bought a full bottle for around $130 but I got a nice little gift bag so I justified the price point but I see this fragrance hitting discounters so if you are patient, you can get a good price for this one. Lasts long as well and projects pretty good so overall this is a great signature scent imo.

I get a lot of Bleu de Chanel from this one but where i find Bleu kind of abrasive and almost too sterile this one is gentler and less likely to give people a headache. It really is incredibly versatile; it’s appropriate for work, date night, running errands, traveling, a day at the beach, etc. I personally love it. I went to a department store counter to re-up on Polo Black and they handed me a card sprayed with this one and i immediately said “give me that instead”. Might be a little sweet for some guys but i think the softness is what keeps it from being too much and just another stereotypically macho designer fragrance

There's a ton of blackcurrant in this. The blackcurrant stays the whole fragrance. This is a weird one. It smelled nice, but I didn't think "oh wow this smells great!" but I did keep coming back to smell it over and over again throughout the day and wanting to keep smelling it, so it has that quality. Sweet, woody, bubblegum, slight amberwood-fir drydown. Strongly recommend, but I would say try before you buy in case you hate blackcurrant. I wouldn't say it smells exactly like MYSLF L'absolu, Prada paradigme, TMW EDP, Polo 67, but I can see why some people feel like it does. I think this is signature scent worthy.
