Ralph's Club

Ok, to start, I cannot for the life of me see why the fragrance community hates on this one so much. Ive got a sizable collection of dozens of frags, and Ralph's club is absolutely one of my favorites. This is a really well done blend of a somewhat bubblegummy take on a lavender/sage and amber forward fragrance. The blend is extremely well done, it smells quality and of quality ingredients (it is Ralph Lauren anyway) Its definitely a blue type fragrance. Its super versatile, non-offensive, and generally highly crowd pleasing. Its a super warm and comforting frag, and its strength in the midrange of the notes makes it viable pretty much year round. Its just.. a good fragrance. The lavender and sage mix with the high quality amber is just such an amazing cant-stop-smelling type profile. The community seems to rate this one horribly out of spite because some of the hardcore fragheads on YouTube got mad it wasn't what they EXPECTED from the release. Thats what I hear in almost every single critique; they EXPECTED something more grown up and uniquely sophisticated, instead they got a really nice blue fragrance (lol). Seems everyone else in the hivemind just followed suit. Quality superb, longevity and sillage are much better than many other blues, (but dont expect this to reach out like Sauvage) for most designer frags, definitely give this a chance, but understand this isn't some super dark, mysterious grown-up frag. Also, no, this smells nothing like YSL Y EDP. They are so unalike there isnt even a comparison worth being made. I think this gets tossed around just because the YouTubers started saying it. Personally, I would pick Ralph's Club over Y always, but I am partial to lavender forward scents. Yes, they both went more on the blue frag route, but the notes are so different no one smelling both would be even remotely inclined to say they're the same lol. Mark my words, in a few years the same youtubers are going to be making videos about how *this wasn't well received at first, but..* and talk about how good and slept on this really was.

I love this fragrance. Cologne, like everything, Wine, Whiskey, Coffee, Beer.....anything, has the ‘snobs’. The people who think if something is not exorbitantly priced that it is garbage. Any of the Ralph’s Club line offerings are fantastic. The scents are overtly and unapologetically masculine without heavy spice, musks, or other love or hate notes. In a time where effeminate ‘Men’s’ fragrances are commonplace and high end designer and/or niche offerings are heavily lauded, it is nice to find a good, solid, and pleasant smelling cologne. Let’s be honest, would you rather spend $400 on a garbage niche just so you can flex in collection pictures, or find a $60-$100 scent that flies under the radar and smell how YOU want? Niche fragrances are almost a total scam (and I own some). From open to dry down, these Ralph’s Club frags are worth the cost. Of all my colognes, there are very few that my wife will press my undershirt to her nose and just smell. The dry down on clothing for these guys is absolutely terrific. RL has been in the game a long time and the one thing they KNOW how to do is a great affordable MAN’S fragrance. If you like smelling like a man, try these out. If you buy and wear colognes as they were meant, you will not be sorry.

This is an awesome aromatic/fougère type of frag of you are looking for one. Simple. But the combination of lavender (which I am the biggest fan of) with clary sage is wonderful. Floral (from the lavender in a fresh, airy, clean, soapy, masculine way) yet green and a smidge spicy and minty (from the clary sage). Base notes of cedar and vetiver smooths out the composition. This is a very well done fragrance for the price. Smells sophisticated and high end. I know a lot of people say the parfum is the way to go but not if you are trying to get away from the citrus top note. Way over done and unnecessary for this type of frag. RL did it right the first time with this EDP. Performance is solid; average. This is a very versatile frag that can be worn year round for any occasion. Although I think this best fits in the category of an office fragrance. This smells like success. No other way to put it.

Whoosh. That's how I feel about the comments I'm reading. People should read about the origins of perfumery. Historically, we have put on fragrances to smell good, but primarily to appeal to others and cover bad odors. That's the cold hard truth. Not much has changed. I have about 80 fragrances in my collection, many of which the masses would find unappealing. I've overhead people saying things like "who smells like hamster bedding?" "Who smells like a barn? Do you smell that?" After these experiences, I realized I should never hate on someone for just wanting to smell nice to others. Neither should you. That is Ralph's Club. Remove all of the bullshit: the name, branding, derivativeness. Does it smell pleasant? Definitely. A fragrance can smell objectively amazing and be completely derivative. Don't miss the forest through the trees.

So I’ve had this fragrance for a little over 2 years and never thought to wear it (it was a gift and didn’t like it very much when I first got it) Fast forward 2 years later and now I’m into collecting fragrances and have a much larger collection, I see this bottle sitting on my shelf and I decide to give it a try yesterday. Honestly, it’s amazing. Love the lavender and clary sage and it really projects on the skin. Then it dries down to this slightly sweet, soft, woody scent that smells heavenly (with the lavender and sage still very present). I sprayed it at 7:15 pm last night and now I’m waking up (12 hours later) and it’s still there! Great longevity! You can also find this for under $50 online which is insane for this quality. Leave it to Dominque Ropion to make something so good! Longevity: 9/10 Sillage: 7.5/10 Overall: 8.5/10

Another wonderful scent fell victim to anti-hype. What it lacks in originality it makes up for in versatility (another reason for hate). Shares many of the same nuances as you’ll find in Y EDP/Le Parfum: fresh/aromatic with a subdued sweetness, modern woods and easy to wear vetiver in the base. Decent projection and longevity, scent trail could be a little better, but you can’t always have it all. Reactions? People (outside Fragrantica) LOVE this stuff. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments both from people close to me and unsolicited. If you’re looking for a modern “utility” and possible signature scent that will get you good reactions from the people around you, this is safe as it gets. If you prefer the art and can’t see yourself wearing anything that won’t get you at least one “oh my god that’s awful!” - look elsewhere.

it starts off really citrusy almost like a club de nuit opening where it’s unpleasant but don’t let that undermine it as only 10 minutes later you’ll have a fresh sweet woody scent but once it matures around the 1st hour mark you’ll get the smell of polo blue if it was modern extremely sweet with the scent of lavender but still keeping that masculine polo dna with that modern sweet touch,then around 3-4 hours you’ll finally be left with a woody and lavender smell that smells incredible nothing else like it,longevity I can say I got around 7 hours and 9 as a skin scent but projection is incredible It doesn’t stink up a room but it’s gets the attention around 6 feet around.this is a really versatile cologne and a extremely safe buy way better than any polo cologne.

Better for colder, darker, and more seductive environments in my opinion, this cologne can still be very versatile, I would choose the EDP over the Parfum or EDT anyday. This cologne can be used for whatever time you want it to be used for. Capable of being pulled off anywhere anytime. The smell is amazing, my favorite cologne I own out of my 20+ collection. It feels almost like a sophisticated cologne you want to wear for everyone to smell you and be like, dang what is that, but honestly as it settles it starts to smell more and more sweet and a little woody. First 2 hours, great projection, projects decent for the next 4 hours, then the smell begins to linger for the last hour (in a good way) and is about gone after 7-8 hours.

I can see why this is often referred to as a crowd pleaser, it's a very easy to wear mass appeal type scent. It's hard to imagine anyone not liking it. Possibly that's a de-merit because it's not unique. So I'll likely get flamed for this, but I was testing Versace Dylan blue and on dry down, this is a very complementary smell. It doesn't smell exactly the same, but it doesn't clash and sort of melts in together. Influencers say the New York flanker is better and a safer blind buy. I completely disagree. New York is great to start with, but on my skin there's a very harsh burnt tyre/rubber smell that's very unpleasant to me. I'd say this one is the blind buy option. New York edition is likely in my view to be a bit polarising

Boring and linear? Who cares! This stuff is great. Why bash a fragrance for being unoriginal when it is so nice to smell. Definitely appreciate its similarity to other fragrances. Could you spend more and by YSL Y? Sure. Could you spend less and buy Mont Blanc Legend Spirit with a similar scent profile...maybe. But, I got this for $35 at 1.7Oz with a travel spray at Marshall’s and as far as bang for buck goes this hits hard. Don’t let negativity deter you! Smell this at an Ulta, Macy’s or Sephora and feel it out on skin...you will find it boring and unoriginal if you are looking for something unique...if you come into it with an open mind I would put this at an 8 out of 10.

Honestly, of the three original releases, EDT Parfum and EDP I like this EDP the best. I sprayed it on at Sephora once and my lady would not stop smelling me. So I bought a bottle. Strangely, this is the one in my collection she likes the best. I love the dry down. It holds a bit of the green and floral from the opening but settles into nice smooth woods. Vetiver is very nice on this one and the cedar is not sharp or hamstery but subtle and soft. I don't see the similarities between this and YSL Y or Myself. When I have smelled them side by side this one is always the clear winner to my taste.

Absolutely perfect every day fragrance. Inside, outside wherever. The absolute beauty of this, is it stays green and fresh from start to finish. It’s not as complex (and potentially nose damaging to everyone around you) as classic greens can be. (Eu Savage, Hermes Vetiver). Thank God, it also doesnt have the aquatic, oceanic headache inducing notes like the newer greens trying to become gym scents. Leaving out patchouli definitely makes this a more mass appealing fragrance. Also gets compliments. Definitely a go to if you don’t want to smell like every kid wearing blue in the summer.

Most reviewers and influencers praise this, so I went to Dillards and bought the gift set. I really liked it in the store so I sprayed on skin. Great on skin, so walked around awhile to let it open up. I liked it and my wife liked. So I bought it. I would call this a gentleman’s fragrance. So, when all the so called influencers only have good to say, you need to try it yourself if you’re interested. This wares like a blue anytime anywhere. And it has character even though it has a smaller amount of notes. It is not linear and I like this very much.

Apple, lavender, and woods. Versatile blue-style fragrance that you won't smell everywhere like YSL, BDC, Sauvage, or Dylan Blue. This was my daily driver for a while until I got the parfum which I like even more. Moderate projection with about 8 hours of longevity. Gets a lot of hate for no reason. Some people call it boring but Ralph Lauren has never been the type of brand that tries to push boundaries especially with their fragrances. They made a blue fragrance to compete with some other designer brands and they did it very well.

Some of these people come off as if they think the popular thing to say is...whatever if you're a long time frag professional, and dump all over this fragrance for not being original or groundbreaking. Perhaps that was never what it set out to be. Perhaps the focus was to smell amazing , and that it does. A warm, fresh towel just out of the dryer. An olfactory hug...ah yes....Ralph's Club. A great, everyday scent that isn't trying to be anything more than the great scent it is. Refreshing comes to mind. Highly recommended.

Simple done perfectly! picked it up for $40 second hand and it's good. That's all really i can't say about it; and i can't complain about that! Not beast mode, not super unique, but also not hard to wear which is what makes it the PERFECT versatile scent for a beginner collector. You can't offend anyone with this, and it has good enough performance. you can literally wear it anywhere, any season, any time, any occasion. if you're thinking about getting a bottle, get it. No further questions asked

I blind-bought Ralph’s Club EDP based solely upon Varanis Ridari’s review on Basenotes. It’s basically RL’s YSL Y EDP; both by the same perfumer, and both RL and YSL under the L’Oreal group. The people who wax lyrical about YSL Y EDP (sitting at an average of 4.40 on Fragrantica) trash Ralph’s Club EDP in the same breath. I prefer this to the heavy-handed YSL Y EDP. Unless you are a brand snob, just get Ralph’s Club; it’s much cheaper at discounters and you get the same effect as YSL Y.

In my opinion this fragrance is definitely a basic smell, but that does not mean it smells bad, in fact it smells really good and i can see this being a very versatile fragrance. This fragrance is pretty mass appealing and not so strong so i think this fragrance would be ideal for work or school. Although it is very good, you can still find better fragrances for its price range and even cheaper. This fragrance is fresh yet kind of sweet and i give it a very solid 8.9 out of 10

Ralph’s Club Eau de Parfum by Ralph Lauren is a fantastic fragrance that is hard to go wrong with. It opens fresh and clean, then develops into a smooth woody scent that feels both classy and modern. Versatile enough for both daytime and evening wear, and definitely a compliment getter. If you're looking for a fragrance that smells confident, masculine, and crowd-pleasing, give Ralph’s Club EDP a try. You won’t regret it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 out of 5

This stuff is good. I just got it yesterday and I can see it being my signature. Very masculine. I get the lavender initially but the cedar is always there. Very woodsy but clean. I see some people complaining about performance but mine got me through a whole work day and is still on the shirt I wore. Projection was good for the first 3 or 4 hours then calms down. I personally love this and it is probably my best blind buy.

It’s a decent scent. It has a bubble gum sweetness mixed with lavender. It reminds me of YSL MYSLF and Invitus layered together. Like other reviewers it becomes a skin scent rather quickly. I would say the performance is like that of a John Varvatos. If you can get it cheap $40 or below it’s a great versatile scent. Projection powerhouses like Sauvage, or Aventus this is not. Can anything project more than Drakkar Noir?

I truly love this fragrance. It opens very fresh and the Lavender and Sage really project off your skin, but the dry down takes this fragrance to an entirely different place off of my skin. The scent ends up being a very dry yet sexy woody fragrance which is that of a well established professional man. This fragrance is absolutely safe for the office and I will definitely put it into my rotation.

The most masculine scent I own. super sexy smelling I actually discovered it as I read in a magazine it was a good unisex fragrance, I really dislike a lot of male fragrances and wouldn't normally wear cologne but this is too good to resist. the lavender in it makes it softer than most male fragrances that are sharp and attack your nose its just a very well done fresh woodsy scent simple as that.

This stuff is incredible and really underrated. I'm not sure why people hate it, but I don't care. Really good blue fragrance that is versatile enough for any setting. You could wear this summer nights, but it is really better for day and night use in spring and fall, and less fittingly for winter (though it certainly can pull it off). This one would work well as a one fragrance collection.

On the onset I love it. Simple and clean smelling. Slightly sweet not overpowering. Why are people comparing this to YSL Y EDP. This one is quite different only if it had the sillage and projection of Y. This is more versatile and less in your face. Wonder why it’s thrashed so much. It deserves a 4.2 rating at least. Nonetheless it’s a great fragrance and I’d be using it a lot this summer.

I was very happy to acquire this fragrance into my collection. I love the fragrance. Then I began to read and believe reviews and the glimmer wore off. "It's been done" "too synthetic" "disappointing". Well, I'm here to say that I have received more delicious compliments from BEAUTIFUL women than you'd ever believe. Don't believe the hype. This is a 9 that lasts 8+ hours.

Great fragrance. Smells like your every day woody floral scent. Good for the office or school. Only downside is it doesn't last or project that much but it makes it good for school because its not overwhelming. Got it for like $60 CAD its a bit overpriced a good scent. Solid everyday fragrance. Smell: 8.7/10 Longevity: 6.8/10 Price: 6/10 Overall 7.5/10

I sprayed this at the department store on my spouse (x2 sprays on neck) and I couldn't stop smelling him for the rest of the day!! I was beautifully intoxicating, I will buy it for him on his birthday but he's only allowed to wear it when I'm around because it's just too sexy its dangerous...

Maybe people became sick of the scent profile. This fragrance is really good. I love it. It definitely reminds me of Y YSL without being so watery which I prefer. This is clean and simple and inoffensive. What’s listed as notes is what you get. Lavender with a herbal woody background.

My signature for the past couple of months. I won't buy it again because I want some new fragrances but It's amazing and is perfect for anytime anyday anywhere. It a bit basic but it smells good, Defenitly have another stunning fragrance like 1 million lucky or Valentino to pear with.

JUST BUY IT! Very nice perfume. I LOVE IT. Lasts long, good sillage without being too much. Very modern and can be used for all occasions. Everybody loves it! This is much like Valentino and other modern perfumes. This is such a modern designer perfume and you can smell it.

I’m actually surprised this score isn’t higher. To me this perfectly rides the line of being just sweet enough. The blend of lavender and clary sage is excellent. I’d say this a classier version of Y edp. And that’s not a knock on Y edp. I just think that’s a bit sweeter.

i just sprayed 1 spray just to try it on my skin. and it lasted 15 hrs. with just 1 spray. I love it. i love the smell, the performance etc. Kudos to Ralph Lauren! Love at first whiff! Ralph's Club is underrated on fragrantica! Amazing. It lasted on my skin for 16 hours!!

Smells great, all around people pleaser. Nothing crazy unique, but the more I wear it the more I like it. Haven't gotten a negative reaction yet. The drydown is definitely the best part, more woody and masculine. Great longevity on my skin about 8-9 hours.

This is indefinitely in my top 3 of all time. The ultimate gatekeep fragrance. It’s a perfectly masculine-well groomed-mysterious and exceptionally projecting fragrance, just off one spray to the forearm. Wear it anywhere, any day, any time. 9.5/10

Ignore all the hate - amazing fragrance for any male who respects himself & needs a fragrance that is classy enough for church, country club, business deal, party, or date. Mature & classy - not for children or teens. 21+

This is my favorite adaptation of the Ralphs Club. The EDT has a heavenly dry down, but this is the Og in my book, and I still believe it's the most versatile/strongest Esq cologne of the bunch.

Oh boy this is one of the best fragrances polo has released. After polo blue this is my second favorite. Such a good smell and bottle. Nice notes. This is the best for all seasons of polo

Ignore all the hates just grab this and you will smell amazing for sure...its versatile stuff which you can apply anywhere anytime...dont judge it too soon you will comeback for more 😉👍🏼

I like the smell a lot but I have it already with a couple other bottles in my collection. I guess I just had to have the cool bottle and the Ralph Lauren name on one of my "Blues".

I think this is really versatile, basically you can wear it all year round without offending anyone. Although it smells kind of linear to me but generally it's a good fragrance.

Prada Luna Rossa Ocean meets YSL MYSLF, meets Polo 67, meets Invictus Aqua, meets Montblanc Legend Spirit. A very mass-appealing, compliment-puller scent. Love at first whiff!

Very Very safe fragrance. Super nice in the winter and has good notes. Overall very basic but I love the scent dna and would often mix with YSL Y EDP for maximum compliments.

I actually like this stuff. Not sure why it gets so much crap. I really enjoy the dry down and smelling it on my self all throughout the day. Clean, fresh lavender scent.

I just got mine in I like it a lot it’s very fresh and smells a little floral but honestly I think it’s smells a lot like rasasi hawas and I’m surprised no ones said it

This one has such a strong, manly scent and I absolutely love it. I’m definitely getting another bottle—one kid at my school was always begging to wear it.

I agree similar to Gucci guilty pour homme EDT , both are good options. Nothing special but worth buying and can’t go wrong with either.
