Sex Eau de Parfum

Rammstein Sex EDP and Elixir Review. First and foremost, get over the name. Think outside the box. Who would give a fragrance a tacky name and then fail to deliver a good fragrance? Well not Rammstein! This was my first fragrance to try from the house of Rammstein and I was so impressed with the quality that when this arrived, I placed an order for Rosenrot and Zwinger! But let’s talk about S*X now. There’s so much to say about this fragrance so I will try to keep it informative as much as possible. Anyone expecting a fragrance on the wavelength of a dirty or skanky fragrance will be hugely disappointed because on its own the 100ml bottle is not that. We will delve on the elixir later... The 100ml Eau De Parfum on it’s own is a beautiful amber woody coffee fragrance which manages to induce the perfect amount of sweetness which is so rare in fragrances at a cost of just Euro39! I am honestly impressed with the exceptional quality of this fragrance. Seriously how do they do it? The nose behind this fragrance is Michelle Moellhausen and I can tell you that she did an outstanding creation on this one. The fragrance is completely unisex and is one of the strongest yet at the same time smoothest fragrances I have in my collection. I gave this a full wear and it lasted on my skin well over 12 hours without the elixir! The fragrance fills the air with a beautiful coffee note that becomes creamy and a bit seductive with the Peru balsam. The opening is a yummy almost gourmand coffee note but like I said, it thankfully omits the sweetness. It's like someone just added a pinch of sugar and not more. The fragrance continues to change, and I was getting a hint of vetiver with sandalwood and benzoin. As I walked outside in a temperature of 22 degrees, I could get whiffs of it and as I entered a room which was more warmer it seemed to start all over again with the coffee note. The fragrance seems to be more adequate for the months from September to maybe April. I would wear with caution in the summer months or else just use it at night time. Now let’s talk about the elixir which manages to do a complete 360 degrees that changes the eau de parfum completely over its head and turns it into an animalic niche fragrance. Included in the box is a 15ml elixir spray and I can tell you straight away that if animalic notes are not your thing do not use this! Well here’s what happened to the fragrance when the elixir was added! The Eau De Parfum reminded me of nothing I had smelt before but as soon as I added the elixir I was instantly reminded of the masterpiece by Francis Kurkidjan Absolue Pour Le Soir. I am not saying that this is a dupe for it. Nope it isn’t. This is like hearing a particular song and the chorus reminds you of another one. Absolue Pour Le Soir is one of my all-time favourite fragrances ever. The animalic honey in it blended with amber is something out of this world. S*X omits the honey note and replaced it with coffee. A tobacco note instead of a smoky note other than that the notes seem to look identical. Go over to fragrantica and check side by side the notes in S*X and Absolue Pour Le Soir to see what I am trying to say here. The fragrance on its own in EDP is nothing like it, but that magic elixir turns it into a close relative. The Elixir included with the EDP is a bonus and turns the fragrance animalic. The elixir can be used on it’s own but I personally would save it to layer the fragrance. One small spray Is enough to extend the longevity up to a further 6 hours. S*X is an absolute non brainer purchase if you love coffee scents and more if you happen to love an animalic twist to your fragrances. I cannot recommend this fragrance enough. A totally niche fragrance less the price of any famous designer fragrance out there. Miss this one at your peril!

What a find for my value for money niche- shelf. This perfume is special, because it is a layering concept! I only figured that out at home, because the small tester was not present in the store. S*X 100 ML reminded me on - sitting in a luxurious hotel bed. I can smell a sort if heavy bed textile ambience, warm and fresh at the same time. There is a strong note of freshly brewed coffee in the air. However - it smelled like „coziness, just before Sex“. There was nothing dirty in the air. Then I tried to layer S*X Elixir on top, which is - by the way - included in 15ML in the box! Suddenly the S*X perfume become very fiery and naughty ... NOW it smelled like great S*X has arrived at the bedroom ... skin akkords, slightly animalic, yet very desirable and wearable. The scent is very intense, but it has no silage that spreads kilometers wide - I find it good this way, since this is a perfume, dedicated for close contact with another person. Elixir alone is extreme and animalic. I prefer the most a layering combination, ratio 1:5. This combo is spectacular.

I love this one! It reminds me a bit of Commodity’s Milk + because it has that same woodsy warmth to me, like a sensual hug. Layered with the elixir, it becomes much more primal and wild, but still quite wearable. In my opinion, this can be worn casually as well, since it’s not a very loud perfume.

Tried it today in Müller, they had the EdP for 39.99EUR but not the Exilir. Definitely their most niche offering so far, apart from perhaps Zwinger but I haven't tried that. I get the coffee note and it also has a deep chocolate note combined with a skin scent. The tobacco is there, but subtle, as is the tonka bean. I don't get any vetiver at all. Hard to put my finger on anything it reminds me of, the only thing I could think that comes close would be Nasomatto Nudiflorum though it doesn't have anything like the depth of that fragrance and it's way less floral. It's sort of a gourmandish-floralish-animalic thing. Definitely unisex, though I'm struggling to think of an occassion where I would wear this. Perhaps in the evening at home, I guess that is the intent... As with most of the Rammstein fragrances - it's worth looking past the image, even if you don't like the band, or the names of the scents, they have some real niche offerings for a very low price.

It is an 100% unisex! Absolutely perfect for both genders! It is warm, somewhat rich and reminds of other perfumes with gourmand (coffee/chocolate/caramel /vanilla) + weirdly sweet round resin + other spices notes. Only it is weaker, with pretty small sillage, so on positive side, it can be worn at home. But I would prefer stronger performance from such scent profile... Update: I've realised that this leaves me pretty under impressed, like a generic rich perfume, leaning towards grandpa's cologne. Somehow the sage and vetiver started to come through more. However, although pleasant, I don't find it worth keeping in my sizeable collection, thus will be de cluttering.

dear Fragrantica, you are the biggest player in the contemporary perfume hobby and even something more. Would it be possible to implement some moderation and simply block reviews before a fragrance is actually available on the market? Unfortunately, a special breed of very dedicated users spends an unexplicable amount of time downvoting every single new release and relating it to different products with similar names. I hope it's just a new fashion of mental retard and not some sort of planned action to destroy everything new in the market in favor of something else. Mindless snobism already affects every hobby on the planet (music, motors and sports, to say the least) - please, let's at least safeguard a more mature and respectful approach to fragrances, if possible. To add a note of optimism, Rammstein fragrances have proven very very good so far.

I wore this proper on a full cold winter day, and I find it a bit masculine for my tastes. It has light sillage but LONG longevity. I did about 6 shots down my shirt and it was too much. Reading this compared to Commodity Milk below gave me that idea- I layered Personal Space Milk with this- and it was perfect. (Milk is very marshmallow musky on me) I then layered with 1 shot of Brooklyn Ellis Vanilla Milk before bed and that was STRONG, lol, but in the morning only Sex persisted. I have not tried the Sex Elixir with Sex. I'm saving my Elixir to wear with Pussy, lmao. I have two bottles of this Sex/Elixir and in BOTH- the Elixir was loose and leaked in shipping. Super disappointing since my 2nd bottle of Sex was bought purely for more Elixir, and as it is- Ramm scents are impossible to get in the US.

I absolutely think a STONKIN hot summer day was the wrong time to test, performance was awful. (Sillage) BUT this is VERY GOOD. A true unisex, like some Tom Fords... This reminded me of New Haarlem or Rochas Man but without lavender, and both of those I liked but were too masculine. Sex is the ideal warm yummy cozy woody coffee scent for me. A bit of New Haalem, a bit of Tobacco Vanille- delish. My favorite part was the drydown, even tho I had no sillage- my Def Leppard nightgown had the most amazing smell-- I distinctly get one of my fave notes- immortelle. That note to me is like celery dipped in maple syrup, lmao. But I like it.
