Entre Naranjos

Oh, my...this is heaven. You know what was the first image that pop in my mind when I smelled Entre Naranjos? Myself lying on a bed of wild grass under a orange tree on a summer's noon. This is a delight. It smells like oranges, but in a classy way (that makes sense?). It's not like one of those cheap smelling body spray that makes you sneeze and cough. This is an amazing fragrance, I actually can't stop smelling my arm. So smooth, fresh, invigorating and natural...yes, that's the word to describe it, natural. I order a sample. Now I'm seriously taking in consideration buying the bottle. Is that good, and I love it! UPDATE: Yes, three minutes later, I bought the 1.7 bottle! UPDATE II: Yesterday was the first time that I tried this fragrance in an 'open space', even though this perfume stayed close to me, people where asking me what perfume I was wearing and giving me compliments.

Pow, pow, pow - an absolute knockout. Gorgeously dry and spicy orange peel, a good spritz and smack of bitter orange oil, patchouli adding a solid woody bottom end - it all adds up to a generous, full-bodied, richly aromatic perfume, not just a lovely fleeting fresh-citric water. Oh boy it's good. Surprisingly timber-y, for me - looking at all those green leaves and white flowers above you might think it's going to be just another transparent, evanescent freshie, and yes the first burst is bracingly acerbic, but it is so much deeper and warmer than that as well. Absolutely unisex but on the tougher side; yet it also swings back to sweet and mild with the amber later on. Just brilliant. Yes, I'd like it to be even bigger and last a mite longer, but wow. So much better even than I was hoping for. Dingdingding we have a winner! Ramon Monegal, eres mi nuevo amor.

It's another perfume from Ramon Monegal that I loved, great citrus orange based notes. It's green, fresh and also bitter orange. Imagine this, add oranges with their leafs and some of the orange tree's skin in a mixer and mix them well, now smell the juice! It's something like that. It's bitter, it's green because of the orange leafs, it's a little woody because of the orange tree's skin. there is some sweetness in it too, but not too much. work of art in my opinion. It's not like so many citric and aquatic summer fragrances that all smell the same! It's really unique and pleasant. I love it. Good longevity and above average projection being a citrus fragrance. Perfect for a hot day / night around the sea with a good glass of wine....

This is a "Citrus +". Absolutely not your regular cologne citrus, that evaporates quickly and leaves just the trace of a fruit behind. No, no, no. This is you amongst the orange trees. The wood, the neroli, the blossom, the fruit, the juice, the twigs, the leaves. The whole of the orange grove. It lingers and lingers and stays close to you all day. Very unisex, absolutely delightful and very innovative. NOT your regular citrus, this is a masterful creation.

For the Citrus Freak like me this is a delight... with a twist: patchuli+amber the "formula" gives depth and a classy move to the fragrance, enveloping the composition in a uniqueness that is mesmerizing. Citrusy, a bit dark (in the nicest way possible) sweet and unbelievable freshness playing around. Congrats Monegal, a unique citrus masterpiece

Really beautiful orange top notes, very fresh and green and orange-oily, drying down to a nice patchouli. Reminds me of Seville à l'aube at the start, but without the beeswax heaviness of the latter. I would love a full bottle of this.

A warm, refreshing and very authentic/natural smelling orange/citrus fragrance. It is truly a delicate art and definite challenge to create a cologne which centers around a scent which is associated with and carries the connotations of something you would use to clean your bathroom with. Ramon accomplishes this by avoiding synthetic smelling and cloying ingredients, and instead choosing to incorporate nearly every part of the orange tree itself (blossom, fruit and stem). Bitter orange rind gives the fragrance the sensation of a fresh orange being pealed open in front of you. Tunisia orange flower adds a subtle sweetness and vibrancy. Petitgrain and patchouli offer herbaceous and woody notes, while a stunning mellow amber lends a radiating warmth from within. Strikes me somewhat similar to Creed's Neroli Sauvage, of which I am also a fan. A definite homage to the beauty and radiance of this most perfect fruit. (54)

Among orange trees I find it a somewhat allegorical and imaginative fragrance. The orange flower of Monegal is not very realistic, it is a fantasy orange flower, in fact, the fragrance is quite synthetic, yet it is very well made and the development is good. The aroma evolves from a fresh sweet to a dry musk, the sweetness is moderate without getting into the gourmand territory. At the opening feels very good the aroma of orange bark and the white floral theme remains throughout the development, but, more seems inclined to be a dessert or a citrus drink. Drying is the most interesting because it exploits the aroma of the facet of the tree of the orange tree and its expansion in skin, eventually becoming a very pleasant residual aroma. Moderate duration and wake with a rather unisex character. Rating: 7

A citrus lovers most pleasant dream in a bottle, this bright and happy concoction immediately gives you a feeling of walking amongst orange laden groves and fruit laden trees. The perfume is all about the scent of oranges. It begins and ends with very natural smelling orange blossom, bitter orange, petitgrain, and neroli accords. To these citrus accords are added amber and patchouli which take prominence only in the powdery citrus dry down. The overall effect is pleasing and joyful and very sunny. Unisex, with moderate to strong sillage and projection, and good longevity on skin. Perfect for bright Spring and Summer days, this is a pleasing and happy scent. Enjoy!

Entre Naranjos is inspired by the vibrant citrus groves of the Mediterranean and the verses of the famous Andalusian poet Antonio Machado, ‘Entre Naranjos’ is an ode to the orange tree featured in one of his poems. As someone who has encountered numerous citrus fragrances in a similar vein, I must admit that as the years go by, it’s become increasingly challenging to impress me. Unfortunately, not all the fragrances I encounter can inspire me to write more about them than what they actually are. Here are my thoughts. TOP NOTES The composition is well-blended and represents the kind of natural scents one would experience while walking through an orange grove. The orange is refreshing and balanced, thanks to the inclusion of neroli and petitgrain. It offers a deep and rich experience, yet it feels familiar and reminiscent of fragrances encountered elsewhere. I also detect a candy-like orange quality during the opening minutes for some reason, which I personally dislike. However, this is a matter of personal taste. And, no, there’s no mint whatsoever. HEART NOTES Seeing that the cinnamon note is listed in the heart notes, I was surprised to see that it is nowhere to be found here. The initial burst of aromatic florals and fresh citruses continue to play the role with additional greenness and bite from petitgrain and neroli. A truly refreshing combination of familiar notes that are hard to dislike. BASE NOTES Unfortunately, what we got at the end is reminiscent of aromatics and citruses sitting atop the white musk and a clean patchouli that smells like it lost all of its personality. Ultimately, a nice experience that is enjoyable and kind of dull, to be honest. CONCLUSION Not everything I review can be a superstar, and that’s just the way it goes. Not every piece of music is meant to be enjoyed for decades, nor is every new movie a masterpiece. I have seen this fragrance described as a whole orange tree, not just the flower and fruit, and I find it quite accurate. Unfortunately that tree is planted in a not so nice park. To me it smells quite dirty and unpleasant.

I was quite eager to test Entre Naranjos by Ramon Monegal. I love citrus-florals during the warmer months as I find them to work with both my chemistry and my tastes. Entre Naranjos is beautiful, just perhaps a little too spicy towards the drydown to warrant a purchase. The opening top notes were my favourite aspect of Entre Naranjos. Rich, zesty notes of orange peel, petitgrain and neroli dance playfully on the skin before settling into a somewhat spiced, patchouli-laden heart with a whisper of orange blossom. The spicier drydown is what makes Entre Naranjos unisex. The top notes, which I found more pleasing, smelt more feminine on my skin. Overall, Entre Naranjos smells quite natural and refreshing. It's definitely worth the hefty price tag but in so saying, I would still test this fragrance thoroughly before buying as the longevity can be a little temperamental. I would personally recommend this fragrance for Spring and Summer as the zesty-ness really shines in the heat. I was considering this fragrance for my wedding day, however, it wasn't quite sweet enough nor floral enough for such an event. Very pretty, nonetheless. I am keen to test more from the Ramon Monegal range now that I have only just dipped one toe. So far I am impressed by this niche range, especially enamoured with its classic packaging with a flip-up lid.

Leans strongly masculine on me - during the drydown I was reminded so strongly of Brut! Perhaps because of the petitgrain/patchouli? I'm not necessarily saying that's a bad thing, but I'm new in my fragrance journey and am sensitive to wondering if people think I'm wearing my husband's cologne :( On the other hand, I can imagine this to be a pretty "boss lady" fragrance. I do love the toughness and sharpness it conveys, so I can see myself wearing this more often. I stumbled upon this (decant) in my search for a stronger Jo Malone Orange Blossom - this is absolutely nothing like Orange Blossom. I do get hints of citrus among the sharp green, but it's more of a bitter orange, almost orange peel, rather than the blossom. It's a spicy scent, but not in a gourmand/sweet way, more of a "powerful" way if that makes sense. I didn't think I'd like spiciness in a scent but turns out I like it in this one. I'm not sure yet if I'd pay for a FB - but I might. I do like this one a lot, even though it's completely different from what I was hoping for or expecting. I haven't tested the sillage yet, but longevity so far has been decent. I dabbed my wrists almost two hours ago and can smell it as I'm typing, so I think sillage is decent on me.

As one of the better entries in Monegal’s line, this fragrance is aptly named (translated as “between the orange trees”) this is neither a neroli fragrance (regardless of how its distilled) nor is it an orange (fruit) fragrance rather is truly captures the entirety of the orange tree in full fruit as there isn’t any hint of typical steam distilled orange blossom. It does a great job of evoking mental and olfactory images of climbing an orange tree, first on the stage are woody notes of orange tree bark and, as if actually climbing higher, gradually transitions into orange leaf (petitgrain), and finally to the fruit though the orange isn’t juicy, its more of the smell of an unpeeled orange.. The drydown is a clean, barbershop type vibe that neither sets itself apart nor distinguishes itself in any particular way (sort of reminds me or Orange Sanguine). Though this is the case, the opening and midnotes are well worth the price of admission. Longevity is good at 6-8 hours for me.

Citrus neroli over candy amber and patchouli I was drawn to this fragrance due to the frequent comparison to my favorite green citrus by Hermes. To my nose it shares little in common with the orange verte line, perhaps a passing semblance in the opening, but Entre Naranjos fundamentally is a citrus fragrance in the personal style of Ramon Monegal, which is highly commendable in principle. The opening is richly tart and vivid but the fizz passes quickly to reveal the fact that this is actually a clean white floral infused amber composition with patchouli traces in the dry down. While commendable in spirit I don’t resonate much with the tenuous candy like evolution which reminds me of these Korean toffee like citrus squares that stick to your teeth similar to Starburst. The sticky maltol candy floss like elements mix strangely with the fresh and fizzy musks, leading to irritation in the long run.

Received this bottle today - beautiful bottle it is too! I purchased this on the basis of the positive reviews here - unfortunately for me it would appear everybody’s excitement is from a limited perspective - that’s Ok I went against my inner instinct telling me this was too much like something else and... The smell is gorgeous - I won’t go into a description though as it is a copy of Hermes Concentre D’Orange. I actually blind bought this and thought this might be the case. Yep! Spot on. Maybe not quite as soapy. Surprisingly no one has mentioned this. On the long dry down it shifts to something akin Eau Sauvage except with noticeable sweet orange replacing the yellow citrus. Despite the EDP build it performs on par or poorer even than Hermes which is a Cologne Concentrate - it is also one of my all time favourites. The gorgeous bottle does not sadly justify the purchase for the price.

I really wanted to like this one but it definitely doesn't work on a woman. The topnotes are very bitter orange and then it gets too sweet and then all soapy and just bleah in my opinion. My arm doesn't smell bad now after I tried to wash it off but this is definitely not for me and not worth all that money. Might be great on a guy. I think this one is a matter of taste. It's clearly well thought out juice; it's just a question of whether you like what the perfumer was thinking or not. Unfortunately I do not, but I do like a number of his other scents.

Amazing. Both the strongest and the most photoreal citrus I've put my nose on so far. Up there with Profumum Roma's Acqua Viva (this one being orange, of course) Revisiting after a full wear: though this lasts a decent amount of time, the top notes are the best part, and they quickly give way to a base of mainly patchouli for me, which I am not the biggest fan of. I still enjoy it quite a bit but as more of a representation of the tree, the flower, and the plant life surrounding it than the fruit itself (like others have mentioned)

The rind of the orange upon initial spray and then it moves quickly into the stems and leaves and quite literally smells like what’s left in your hand after squeezing an orange. Overall it’s tart and green orange. It has a bit of neroli floral vibes as it drys. This is not a cologne, or NP by TF, or designer style at all. It’s possibly the best take on “orange” that I’ve ever smelled.

THE ORANGE FELL INTO THE FLOWER GARDEN I kept waiting to dislike this citrus floral. Why? Because most often these types of fragrances turn sour on me. Or I start smelling like the perfume section at Lord & Taylor (in the 1950s). I liked the opening. And I kept liking it all through it's substantial lasting power. Want a refreshing summer scent to discover? It's all yours, baby.

Anyone have a decant of this I could buy so that I can try it before I commit to such a pricey scent? I live in rural Ireland so it's difficult for me to just try a spritz from a tester. Right now it's -2 degrees C outside, with a bitter northeast gale blowing drafts under my door, and the thought of being among orange trees sounds delightful!

Entre Naranjos is very much energicing scent. Perfect on summer time, warm days, lasted over night at my skin. My husband complimented this also. Seems to be much like quality scent. True pleasure for Your nose. One of the best Orange Blossom- Citrus scents I have sniffed.

Why does this say “For men and women“ when it is clearly an incredibly masculine scent targeted to men? Maybe it could work for some women. On my skin this is incredibly masculine and doesn’t work. It is gorgeous though, perfect for my husband.
