after reading the negative reviews I'm not even sure if I'm smelling what I should be smelling right now. yesterday I wore #laislablanca and loved it. however, yesterday was quiet and i didnt do much and still felt clean next morning and didn't want to damage my skin with excessive washing so i skipped the shower this morning, but i also put on #flowerpower i smelled so incredibly delicious the entire day, with a stronger than normal silage for me, so i wondered if it was bolstered from the #laislablanca that i could still smell waking up or if it was its own scent. extremely pleased with it and i cant stop smelling it. I'll have to see what the difference is when putting it on after a fresh shower

Yes, it’s synthetic but I love it! I believe it’s meant to be this way. The description Monegal gives of a psychedelic trip brought by brightly colored flowers of an indefinite smell. Flowers that do not exist, but that hopelessly attract you and invite you to discover the very essence of your Bohemian soul, is perfect! It has a lot going on but the floral notes mixed w/ sweet notes, then rounded out by the patchouli brings out the flowerchild in me! My only gripe is that it only lasts a few hours on my skin but then again it is an EDT.

Okay, so I really like this fragrance. When I sampled it I kept telling the lady that it smells like "a juice I recognize". When we got home, my husband and I kept sampling it until he said "it smells like those fruity zebra gums!" It literally smells like the juicy fruity! I don't mind the synthetic feel that everyone is mentioning. This fragrance feels as fun as it is being described.

This smells to me like you are chewing gummy bears and drinking lemonade in the sun. Non descript fruity-floral and quite synthetic, not necessarily in a bad way. Gardenia is somewhat noticeable but you really have to dig in...I'd call this a carefree vacation scent, not more not less. It feels like a Moschino Fresh release, you know, the happy kitschy Windex bottle ones.

#flowerpower from Ramon Monegal’s Ibiza collection starts off like a cross between Elizabeth Arden’s ‘Sunflowers’ and Givenchy’s new rendition of ‘L’Interdit’. Then it mellows into being a generalisation of most women’s fragrances from Zara. It’s very sweet with lots of vanilla flower, so for me, this is my idea of fragrance Hell. But which flower has the power? Chocolate flower, vanilla flower (so we’re going gourmand, especially with the praline), patchouli (a mandatory hippy scent) and finally we get peony with gardenia - that’s not enough flower to power my need to devour. But I love the romanticism behind the concept of #flowerpower, to embrace Ibiza’s hippy culture. Back in the 1960’s, hippies gravitated to Ibiza to 1) flee the situation in their home countries after the Second World War and 2) because it’s the 3rd most magnetic place on Earth (which is great for crystal heeling, yoga and why many claim to feel instantly at home when on the island). Back in the 1960’s it was illegal to be nude, so the Guardia Civil were often seen chasing naked hippies to try to arrest them and load them into a van. Nowadays, there still remains a hippy market (albeit commercialised) but the hippy spirit of Ibiza is alive and well. Ramon Monegal himself describes #flowerpower as; “Enchanting, addictive, festive Golden power of the sun Creativity bohemian floral Incandescent yellow Ibiza” Come on, you should know by now that I dislike sweet vanilla fragrances. Ramon Monegal is (quite possibly) my favourite perfumer, but I will always draw the line at sweet vanilla.
