L'Eau De Rose

A bouquet of roses with musk and patchouly inside a bouttle. So feminine, so sexy...

A very green, light, dewy, citrussy rose - a bit too much like rose soap for my liking. Tremendous staying power, though - a good nine hours - and a very nice drydown, rather softer than the top notes. Great if you want to smell like rose soap all day, which I confess I sometimes do. I won't be buying it, though, as I already have Sa Majesté la Rose and that will do me for a fresh, dewy rose.

A typical Lush dewy Rose & patchouli perfume, with a quite prominent very musky skin sweaty note in the base. It has quite a warm & balmy feel to it, like hot summer nights. Very strong & longlasting, its certainly a quality perfume. Worth sampling/testing if your after a rich musky skin style Rose fragrance.

As always, I'll preface by saying that I'm not normally a fan of florals. I received a sample of this and all I've gotten from after several hours of wear is an intense soapy neroli smell. I don't really get any of the other notes..can detect the rose a bit but it's definitely overpowered. I'm vaguely headachy and feel nauseous every time I go back to see if the scent has evolved. Strong dislike!

I"m quite a fan of this house, but not so much this perfume. I've worn it three times now and what I've decided is... it's more for the gents. The musk note is just too masculine on my skin. Can you detect the rose? Yes, but not the feminine type that I"m used to. Now I'm a rose/patchouli lover, and I''ll try anything that has this combo, but I would like geranium or ylang ylang added to earthen it up a bit. As is, it's too airy, bordering on cologn-ish. OK, so not my favorite from this line; that is still Cherry Musk. But worth trying.

Don't like this one at all. I usually appreciate anything rose-centric, but this is weird. It's like a man's cologne with something floral in the mix, but no true rose. The egg others have mentioned -it's not a rotten egg, but something like raw egg whites left on a surface and not washed, hours later... This happens in the dry down and it's bad. I have (and enjoy) other fragrances from the house, but this one I don't get. Strange fragrance with misleading name. edit: I get more rose with time, but still don't love it..

In defence of Ramon Monegal's work, I must say that many of them I tried (and I tried and have quite a bit) are a true work of art to me. On my skin they work perfectly, long lasting, with pretty good silage. This one is true strong rose. Not a bit dirty or soapy. Good for me, that my skin chemistry doesn't produce any egg-smell :-)

It’s the type of rose you’d smell in a soap blend. An almost watery-clean quality, with the patchouli gently holding the rose in its velvety embrace.
