Soul Of Oud

If you are into oud fragrances and you are not a beginner (knowing initial 5min of oud won’t tell you how good the fragrance is) go for the bottle if you can. This is really a gem, not really much spoken by frag community. It opens strong but after 15min settle down to something very warm and calming with high quality ingredients used. Soul of oud is a fragrance with a lot going on (it’s sweet, it’s bitter chocolate, oudy and fruity. It starts a bit harsh but in 30 min it turns to something super cozy and extremely well balanced. Soul of Oud is crowd pleasant and is a beautiful "western oud" composition. Lot of compliments received. It's non-animalic oud and makes you feel super-royal. Fragrance will clearly make a statement to others this is not a standard fragrance “from designer". In terms of Projection, Soul of Oud is easily ~10 hours on me, silage is very good. I sprayed the fragrance on my hand, took a shower and after few hours I still could smell a super dry down. I tested also concentration, is oily and gloves on your skin or you will see oil maps if you try to spray it to water of diffuser. This fragrance is worth of every single euro and it's in my TOP5 oud fragrances I have tried. It's a masculine fragrance without any doubt and I really wonder how the fragrance will appeal during lower temperature in winter. I'm exremelly happy I discovered this house and "Don't touch my Ouds" line! Amazing work by Mr. Ramon Monegal!

The osmanthus in this is quite strong to me, it gives me a berry tea kind of vibe. I'm not huge on it but when it settles it's beautiful. Don't get much of the chocolate unfortunately... I get it very faintly if I really smell for it. Chocolate and oud sounds really good.. very steep retail but I got it for a fantastic price so I'm incredibly happy

This smells like pure , high quality sandalwood on my skin. It lasts ALL day, but all I get is sandalwood. That’s not a bad thing for me. I adore the rich, creamy, dryness of sandalwood. I do wish I was able to get the rose or fruity chocolate, that others are getting, but for my tastes, this is not a disappointment. It’s a big love.

Gorgeous perfume. A keeper for everybody with personality. Well simply put Ramon Monegal is a master perfumer and his collection Dont touch my Oud are exceptional masterpieces. Soul of oud, Ocean oud Agar Musk are in my top 20 fragrances ever created.

Soul of Oud opens on the skin with a beautifully rich and incredibly smooth Assam oud with a slight animatic bite. The opening is lifted by the warmth of nutmeg, and apricot nuances of osmanthus that is simply otherworldly. As the fragrance settles, layers of chocolate and rose add complexity and depth to the scent profile. The rich bitter intensity of the chocolate is perfectly balanced by the fruity sweetness of osmanthus while the oud continues to evolve in the background. Moving further into the dry-down the fragrance continues to mellow as amber, musk and vetiver ground the fragrance in a sweet earthy base. Soul of Oud showcases high quality natural oud and pairs this with one of the best chocolate accords I have smelt. The fragrance is complex, sensual and incredibly smooth. Nothing ever feels jarring about Soul of Oud. All the notes are just so masterfully blended together that in reality it’s hard to discern them individually. Rather, the experience is an amalgam of quality raw materials working in perfect harmony and that shine. Performance is outstanding. What I get on my skin from Soul of Oud is something very soft with absolutely no natural Oud in it. This is another expensive b.s. with an astronomical price tag. Sorry for my honesty but I am not a paid reviewer or an online store worker to come here or on Instagram to make false comments. The fragrance has a pleasant smell worth $60 but it’s nowhere near that price... actually is 10x more... The chocolaty smell has a bitter taste this time especially when I am thinking that the only price explanation was the “Oud” but there is no Oud in the fragrance. Well, there is a so called “monegal Oud” but I have no idea what that means because doesn’t even emulate the smell of Oud. What a shame!

The same type of oud note found in TDC Oud Shamash, with which I get some similarities. One of the best oud-centered fragrances I got to smell as of today. Worth $300 for 50ml? I think that no fragrances are worth that price, and that's especially valid for this one, that quickly falls to a skin scent (even if longevity as such is excellent). Fall/Winter evenings, 30+

I agree with the person below me. This fragrance is a gem and it is so beautiful. I have tried all the lines including Alhambra Oud, Oud on Fire, and Ocean Oud. For my preferences, SOO would be my top choice, on par with Alhambra. I found Alhambra to be more playful and wearable. But as an Oud lover, I would go for SOO because of the Oud. What I got from here is that they might have used only a tiny amount of real Oud with a lower percentage, and the Oud here is backed up by wood compartments to increase the effect longer. If you are not a fan of Oud, just go for Alhambra. It is smooth and the Oud in Alhambra is well-covered by fruity compartments, so you will not smell the Oud at all unless the woody parts. As for Oud on Fire, it is quite smoky and woody. Personally, it is quite dry and does not fit me well. Lastly, Ocean Oud, this one you should try first. The notes combo is personally unique and might be weird for some people. For me, it is a resounding no, that is why it would be last on the list. Cheers.

The glory of authentic oud is not in houses like RM. In most of his ouds, he puts the blessed raspberry in hahaha. Here, the rottenness of the oud is more prolonged, but it soon supports the raspberry and other chords and notes listed above. His ouds are fruity or gourmand hahaha. In terms of oud, they are ouds for those who don't like the glory of feces or blue cheese. They are very easy, but the construction is impeccable. The guy knows a lot: oud with chocolate and osmanthus here. Still, I liked the Flamenco extrait version better hahaha. This one is like the OUD ALHAMBRA, great perfume. It's only worth the price, perhaps, if you don't like an authentic oud. I'm the guy from the corral, I'll always be there. OUD ANKAA, Y UZAC, OUD THE SPIRIT OF DUBAI, among others hahaha. 9/10

How people rave about this I expected way more OUD! This is super tame and im actually a bit disappointed having not sampled it 1st and listening to reviewers opinions. What I smell is a fruity chocolate/Rose with a leather undertone and very little OUD. The trace amount of OUD I can detect in the initial opening I'm having doubts it's even a natural OUD. it smells like an accord rather than something authentic. If this had that punch in the face OUD like so many other orientals in this price bracket id probably appreciate it more but as of now if you want the opinion of a true OUD lover and connoisseur, this is ridiculously overpriced for what it is. I'm going to try the rest of the ouds and see if anything stands out to me.

Ramon Monegal - dont touch my oud is the best westernized oud collection on market. Xerjoff? Forget about it. Nishane - Nefs? Forget about it. Frederic Malle ? Forget it about it. I got whole collection over discouter website for under 400€. And its crazy how good they are. I have seen people are comparing this to Nasomatto - Pardon. Those people need to see the doctor to check their noses. This is berry tea, davana, cypriol, chocolate, rose, oud and smoke. Blended to perfection, unisex if you ask me. 10/10 Performance is great as well. Fragrance is easily detectable after 10 hours of application

This smells really pleasant, though definitely synthetic with that sharp, chemical edge. It reminds me a lot of Dunhill Icon Absolute, but this one feels richer and deeper. It’s not warm or natural, more like clean, bold, and a bit harsh. Yet somehow, it’s so addictive. You just keep wanting to smell it again and again. Is it worth it? Depends on the price. At retail, I’d skip it. But with a good discount? Definitely yes. Overall, despite its synthetic nature, it smells really nice, surprisingly addictive and absolutely worth trying.

Another "oud" that does not smell much of real, authentic oud. It has that same aroma chemical pong that is present in some, if not all, of the Desert Gems collection from Frederic Malle. Possibly norlimbanol or timberol, with some bone dry cypriol to give it some scratch, some power, some heft. Aside from this I cannot say this is all too unique but it smells nice, whatever "nice" means. Meh.

This is quite nice indeed. Some leathery/fruity oud, chocolate and florals. It is softer and more floral than Oud on fire. I wish it were stronger, since it fades to a skin scent fast. For the price, it should last longer.

Beautiful fragrance but too expensive for what it offers. I can detect oud and chocolate quite easily, way better than al hambra oud which has flamencos synthetic base fused with a cheap oud

Good quality but very boring. Reminds me of Dunhill Absolute.
