#sunsetcafe (2023)

My first Ramon Monegal purchase was La Isla Blanca EDP. I absolutely love that scent, but would often pass it over for a more appropriate scent in so many situations I began to question why I still owned it, and thus began the search for a replacement. I enjoy replacing my bottles with bottles from the same house whenever possible, and I remembered enjoying a sample of Sunset Cafe I had received from the retailer I purchased La Isla Blanca from. I purchased a 5 ML decant as the 1.5 ml free dabber I had received was long gone, and after a few wearings and some really positive feedback from my Fiancé, I began the search for a full bottle. I was lucky enough to get locate a full bottle from a pretty well known discounter for around $140 which is a great value for this scent IMO. As is the case with all Ramon Monegal scents I've been able to get my nose on, this is very well blended, the notes all play well with each other and nothing seems to takeover at any given point. I get zero sunscreen vibes from this, so if you normally shy away from scents with coconut, don't let that deter you here, the coconut along with the strawberry just give it a mass appealing sweetness that is not overpowering in anyway, and plays really well with the marine note of seaweed. This is one of those "niche designer" blue profiles that you'd be hard pressed to find anyone that dislikes the scent. I can see this being a bit boring for hardcore frag heads, but I really like it and will get a lot of use out of it this summer.

Very unique blueish, fresh and clean fragrance. I dont get so much on the coconut. For me is more on the salty seaweed. You definitely get something sweet in the oppening, so maybe there's the coconut. Now, imagine getting up early in the morning at the coasts of any beautiful open sea spot. Me, i am from Puerto Rico. So, in the West coast it is. And as soon you open the doors, windows or if you are at the balcony, you feel that refreshing ocean breeze hitting you, telling you and whispering to your soul, "Hey, come spend the day with me, it will be amazing". This is that. A summer vacation dumbn reach for hot and tropical sites. Even though i just describe it like that, is not a full bottle worthy for me. I know i wont be reaching it that often. A bigger decant yes. Try it on a 2 ml decant.

Here's to your lactonic coconut summer. Sweet hints of burned coffee and a synthetic strawberry or two, as found in the original Black XS. This, and the coffee note stretching back to Rochas Man, brings a strange nostalgia for smooth masculine scents from the 90s and 00s. But it's just separate notes, and the overall mood is much mellower and relaxed. Once again, those Cafe de Mar compilations come to mind: suntan lotion traces with a flashy piercing musk base, proudly unnatural and yet totally understandable. That reverbed, chilled out guitar plays to soothe. A nice thing to wear, no special occasion needed.

This is fresh heaven and absolute fresh perfection. Ignore the notes because they don't mean a damn thing when it comes to this fragrance. Got a free sample and now I'm like a crack head feenin for a full bottle. Want to have chicken heads breaking chicken necks? Then this is the real deal right here. I can't promise you will be putting buns in the oven, but a bottle of this and a lack of budget for Trojans will probably have you meeting kids you didn't know you had in 18 years.

To me this is very much linear, I know some people is going to disagree with me but on my skin sunsetcafe smells kind of like Percival with an ever so soft coffee note, some powderiness from the coconut and undefined floral notes. It leans on the masculine side with moderate projection and 10+ hrs longevity. This is totally a white t-shirt and sunglasses 😎 kind of fragrance, a new dumb reach in my collection for the spring-summer season.

Great take on the blue aquatic fragrance by Ramon Monegal. Looking at the ingredients, it might seem difficult to wear. All the contrary! It is unique and safe to wear at the same time. Projection and longevity are superb. You are advised not to spray close to your face or you might get anosmic to it.

This is so underrated. Takes you to an Ibiza sunset with some lounge music in the background. I really enjoy the combination of the seaweed, light coconut and strong coffee notes. Could wear this on sultry summer evenings or in the early fall season.

Extremely easy going stuff. I get some similarities with MFK Amyris, similar vibe here in some aspects but this is brightened up and summery. I will bathe in this when summer comes. It's not a loud fragrance. I get the slight aquatic vibe, and it really does give the sensation of a chilled out cafe by the beach. My first Monegal, highly pleasant stuff.

This is a casual fragrance. Smells good and clean, but not something to wear for a serious/formal setting. It's like a very clean sunscreen in a good way. Not something I crave nor reach for regularly. My first Ramon Monegal fragrance that I haven't had a "wow" reaction to.

I find this to be pleasant. It’s very sweet. It reminds me of BR540, which is a turn off - but is far enough away to not make me crazy. Slightly aquatic, massively sweet with a hint of coffee which kind of keeps it from fully transitioning into cotton candy territory. Overall a pretty nice fragrance. I appreciate the dry down - once things settle a bit. Wearable - pretty unisex - but probably a bit more traditionally feminine.

Smells very pleasant but nothing you haven't smelled before. I get reminded on Michael Jordan and Rochas Man but smoother and not as strong. Its pretty light and it doesn't last at all that's the only gripe i have with the scent but it smells really good. Shitty performance but other than that pretty good juice.
