Hortense

This is an awesome blend; lovin the pepper and cinnamon swagger. I got Rose today (60 degrees) but I did not detect rose before today. So far I love the 3 Rance fragrances that I own (Rose de Rose, Avant de Jour and Hortense). The common problem I have with these fragrances is the sillage - this is very close to a skin scent. I picture a goody two shoes/bookworm wearing this scent and feeling she is living on the edge; zesty- adoring- gracious- well mannered- daddy's little girl is devious type fragrance. :)

Pfeffernüsse is the first thing I thought of upon first sampling this. Same family as Tauer's une Rose de Kandahar. Not as intense as Tauer's, but rose, cinnamon, and incense are all featured prominently in Hortense. I like it very much. Could easily become a love. I expected Nahema to be like this, but Nahema is much more green and rosey.

I love the opening of this fragrance it draws me in just like Latetia Millisime did! I find this fragrance to be a tad bit softer and perfect for the days that you don't want to radiate to loudly. This worked well for me in the daytime and probably more suitable in the sprin in my opinion, but really we wear what we want when we want

Very unique, i love this. It lasts a musky vanilla in the end, which i feel similar to rance sublime. But not odd, nor hard. Cinnamon and other spices are working perfect. Incense also good, unlike encens jinhae or garanat. If you're an incense lover, i'd recommend hortense.

Wow this one is amazing. I love warm spicy and the bergamot really lifts it up with a blast of aromatic citrus. Definitely fb worthy!

not sweet, but spicy & citrusy, i can clearly smell the cinnamon, really lovely! sillage and longevity: moderate.

I was not so sure about the category of this frag put here as Oriental Floral. I thought it should be in the Oriental Spicy family instead, and refering to my sample card, I found the words "Spicy Oriental". The scent is a sort of fresh, dusty, a bit sour (with bergamot), and screechy cardamom, accompanied by some woody nuances of black pepper, cedar and mahagony. It's quite rough for some minutes and then warmth of vanilla, rose and cinnamon softens it a bit. Cinnamon especially becomes prominent after half an hour and makes it smell like a cinnamon gum (Reminding me of Trident Cinnomon-Flavored gurms). But all in all, it's a rough and dry, a bit masculine, spicy scent. It lacks the potency and charm of the other scents in Rance line IMO. I even like Rance Le Roi -which is a warm-spicy scent with powdery flowers- better than this one. Longevity and sillage are moderate on my skin.
