Rose de Rose

The bottle is very pretty although awkward to spray, the glass is opaque and there’s a touch of bling on one side. Rose de Rose is an elegant feminine rose but with a touch of sweetness, or rather the vanilla which puts it in the Turkish delight category. It’s quite strong at first spray, then it settles down to the point that you can’t really smell it on your skin because it creates an enveloping air around you. About 30 minutes in, you get wafts of it in waves, and it settles down to a gorgeous powdery rose. It’s got a luxurious vibe to it and is well worth the discounted price currently offered on perfumedotcom. Recommended.

Boudoir powder rose - reminds me of a face powder a Geisha girl would wear from the 1940's or better yet Marie Antoinette -she just came to mind, This is not my type of fragrance yet I am completely drawn to it. Pretty, dainty, kind of creamy - a realistic rose with vanilla powder. Not a good blind buy - I don't feel someone under 40 would like this rose fragrance. A regal rose perfume from France - that could stand the test of time - like in this fragrance last FOREVER especially on clothes. EDIT 9/14/01: Easily one of my favorite ultimate rose fragrances NOW. A glorious opening of rose, soon softened by the vanilla. Rose de Rose very much reminds me of Helmut Langs Eau de Parfum, although it features ylang-ylang as second chair instead of heliotrope and lavender. Pure bliss and luxury, highly recommended!

On me the sandalwood takes precedence over the rose for a good 2 hours and it's the Australian type, which mean it's a bit medicinal. Not my favorite. Give it two hours and it's a lovey powdery, lightly medicinal sandalwood rose, a bit creamy. While I love the dry down, I struggle with the first hours, so it's not for me. If I have to wait to like a fragrance more than 15-20 minutes it's not worth my money bc I won't wear it. If your nose doesn't exaggerate sandal, you might like this. Very good quality. Still looking for my perfect powdery, sweetly spicy rose. Sigh.

Unique fragrance, long lasting and strong sillage on my skin. It cannot be said exactly a rose perfume, I can smell other notes in this scent. The price is soooooo high, but I can say it's worth.

Bit of a NyQuil/medicinal vibe to this fragrance. It’s blended with a powdery, pink rose. It is a pretty, feminine scent & although the medicinal quality fades a bit, it remains in the background. That is the one characteristic of this perfume that I dislike. Otherwise, it’s a good fragrance that doesn’t cost too much. Great for spring with a soft sillage. It lasts long on the skin though.

Not the best powdery rose. The are much more interesting rose fragrances, especially for its price.
