Sharisme Insensé

A very nice blind buy! But this thanks to the fact I got it many times cheaper (as used) than it would be as new. A general description would be "warm spicy woody" and it smells good both on hand and on shirt even though they smell differently, hand has more woody smell. I don't know the exact smell of amber so I don't know how much of that is here but the general warmness possibly includes it. I have smelt only a handful of incense scents so at least for me this is something unique. It also gives me a strong impression that this smell is the definition of "warm spicy". For some reason I get a picture in my mind when smelling this: an old 18th century golden French chair with decorations and beautiful colourful cloth with flowers textured in it and this textile is used for back and seat parts. #1764 in my “Tour de Fragrance” FYI, Luckyscent doesn’t stock this Rance, FragranceNet is sold out, eBay has it at $85 plus $10.50 shipping. I make the point because this is a very simple, affordable incense and wood scent you may wish to consider. If you like a spicy, woody incense scent as much as I do, you will definitely enjoy this. It’s more or less a clone of Armani “Encens Satin” of similar quality, and the Armani goes for $275 when you can find it. I prefer something a little greener, like Mancera ‘Hindu Kush”, but I’d happily wear this scent. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

This is such a unique scent. I was very iffy about it the first time, but my god what a wonderful composition this is. Very sophisticated. I am positive the limited list of notes is not the complete one; I can detect much much more.

That cat diarrhea comment below really made me burst out laughing. Well I start off by saying I enjoy this. It's definitely not for everyone and we all have different skin chemistry for sure. So definitely sample this. This is definitely a more smokey incense-y amber. At points I got a slight chilly pepper like spiciness but that faded. If you like Ambre Sultan by Serge Lutens you'll like this. Not saying this has the quality of Ambre Sultan because it not. But this is still good quality though. This is not mass appealing. Similar to what I said in my Serge Lutens review and that is if you have only smelt designer ambers this is going to shock you. This isn't that sweet vanillic Strong With You type amber. This scent is quite simplistic and linear, which is fine. Overall I like this. I only have a sample right now but this be a future buy for me.

The opening smells incredibly familiar, perhaps a spirit or liqueur that I used to serve in restaurants. On my skin, there's warm, spicy orange-like notes with an aniseed-like vibe reminiscent of sambuca, but it there's also something like nutmeg in there, with a slightly medicinal edge to it all. There’s definitely quite a powdery, smoky incense undertone to the fragrance. It doesn’t hit you in the face, more underpins the base of the perfume. Unfortunaely I didn’t really enjoy this.

Uhh. By the notes, I thought this would be a stunner. And indeed, indeed it is, but completely not in a way I wanted it to. With my skin chemistry, this turns into a strong smell of cat's poo, and specifically, when one of my cats has diarrhoea (believe me, I can tell which one - they smell different!) with only a slight hint of something resinous in the background. I wanted so much to love it, I had great expectations, but I simply cannot :(

I’m literally smelling musty mothballs. I have a grandma who smells like this, as she keeps mothballs in with her clothes. Musty mayhem (that’s quite a good drag name).

This has a lot of citrus and fresh spices to my nose. I'm thinking bergamot, lemons, zesty maybe ginger, cardamom, coriander....smells fresh, musky masculine and citrussy. I do get the amber, but not the incense (yet.)To me this is a masculine aftershave splash kind of scent, but the good, expensive kind. Second testing: Getting the incense, not churchy nor smoky but more the sour frankincense if that makes sense. If I really press my nose to it it's even a tiny bit churchy but the fresh spices and citruses wash into it. Wonder why no citrus is listed... Ok checked official notes, there are looaddss, bergamot, cassis, berries, sage, leather. Super complex wonder why fragrantica was lazy about it.

Even though the house struggles with performance, this one has actually a good longevity and decent projection. The smell is sharp and you can feel a clear blend. A verry gentelmanly frag , very joyfull. Start the day with this one and feel great 👌 10/10
