Lavande 44

Rania J. Lavande 44 is a fresh and spicy lavender mix featuring bergamot, petitgrain, cedar, and vetiver, with hints of tonka and labdanum to sweeten the mix. Patchouli is a further listed note but I do not particularly detect it. It leans fresh/spicy/woody but there is a faint sweetness to counterbalance those ideas, but even with tonka, specifically, the mix is not remotely as sweet or powdery as Tom Ford Lavender Extreme or Molinard Lavande, to give some perspective. Lavande 44 is centered around the floral note of lavender but well-blended like a barbershop/cologne vibe, albeit with some more weight, really a year-round “signature scent” type of fragrance, but certainly unisex and artistically interesting, divergent from the standard formula. It’s not as spicy as men’s wintery fougere types (i.e. YSL Jazz, Chanel Pour Monsieur EDP) but not as fresh as more summery options (Chanel Pour Monsieur EDT, Dior Eau Sauvage, YSL Rive Gauche). I’m impressed by the composition, which, like Ambre Loup and Oud Assam, is refined and clearly shows some care. It’s not the most daring scent but balances idiosyncrasy with a winning formula. I imagine the lavender-averse might find it off-putting but it really strikes me as a tasteful and restrained, albeit fulfilling use of lavender, which can sometimes come off a little too sharp and screechy (ala verbena) if used excessively. The fragrance seems to perform quite well, as well, though maybe not much so as Oud Assam or Ambre Loup. The pricing of Lavande 44 and the rest of the Rania J brand is $149 for 50ml, at EDP concentration. The only US boutique that sells Rania J. fragrances is Luckyscent, from which I obtained my sample, but I’ve learned that another grey market site sells the brand, as well. 8 out of 10

Lavande 44 by Rania J- Absolutely Stunning! Moonsparrow you got me again. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this one. I read the note pyramid on this before trying it and after reading it, I knew I was in for something special and something I was sure to love. First I am a fan of Oud and Labdanum, Then seeing Oud paired with Lavender, Labdanum, Patchouli and Musk, I knew I was in for a passionate experience. It did not disappoint, it was love at first whiff! The instant I put this on, I was captured, whisked away and held for ransom and I pleaded with my family to withhold payment and leave the money in the bank. I don't want to be returned. Damn! This smells good! The way Oud and Labdanum blend in this is amazing, I love it. Then how Lavender orbits around them like a moon casting it's luminous rays of tranquilizing fragrance upon them makes you want to relax and melt into the lilting aromatic medley. Musk, and this musk is the right kind of musk, adds a warm, sultry, sexuality to this beautifully crafted and brilliantly blended fragrance. Patchouli gives this a hippie, bohemian, free spirit flare. For me the scent sparks images of making love to a beautiful woman in a bohemian setting inside her lusciously, decorative Gypsy Wagon and Lavande 44 filling the air with it's bewitching, seductive, highly sexual and transcending energy. Ok, with that description, you all know I love this fragrance. What's more to love about it? Well, thank heaven's it's got ample, 12 plus hours of longevity and a medium to heavy sillage. Here we have a full-fledged lavender fragrance managing to evoke equally classical and modern graces through an atypical fougère accord, one that develops into a fine politesse fitting cozily within today’s barbershop niche. 44 opens typically with a sour upper lip of petitgrain and bergamot, taking its traditional crispy clean to a sharp medicinal mouth of lavender absolute that screams minty fresh before rearing its girth into a woody triad of agarwood, labdanum resin and cedarwood; one that is zealously muted by a fixative action of patchouli, vetiver, tonka bean and musk, leaving a bare leathery dust trail from the muzzle. Merely, the oud is seamlessly blended as a savoury decoration within the delicately sweetened green. In the end, the punchy lavender heart overwhelms and beats its supporting bits into shape as a mature, spicy, knockout fern... 44 offers a slightly interesting nouvelle due to an oriental caress that is felt in an exquisite dry-down, one that evolves throughout the course of its wear with flair. Far from being neophyte yet accessible and a lovely accentuated twist on the modern fougère, this is a scent that remains pungently familiar yet unique and is a safe ‘dare’ on the conservative theme of clean, as well as lavender... A thumbs up indeed!

Very, very middle eastern fragrance. So this is completely me. I love everything with this kind of vibration, warm, melancholic, balsamic, full of incenses. Oud in L44 is very prominent but also civilized, nothing dirty or kicking into your face. Perfectly balanced by the Mediterranean spices (aura probably created by vetiver) and sweetness of tonka or vanilla. Really it can be a heaven for balsamic fragrance lovers. Also it is very different than mass market offers (seriously I'm not stupid braggart who criticize everything common) but here you have gem that you never find in Sephora, Douglas and other big fragrance stores. In my opinion lavender is the only provocation/name created by author while oud, labdanum and patchouli are main heroes here. They dance together in the rustic house where people dry lavender attached to the ceiling. Perfect to change your mood if you feel bad, pushed or depressed. Go ahead and try, you won't be disappointed. Spillage is moderate but longevity is really good. It lasts for hours, from the morning to the evening even on dry skin I have.

Just received this bottle yesterday; a blind buy mostly because I enjoy my other scents by Rania J. I should also mention, that of all the "flowery" scents, lavender has always been my favorite. I have owned Agua Lavanda Puig, Czech & Speake Oxford & Cambridge, as well as some simpler lavenders like Yardley English Lavender. So, how does Lavande 44 compare? With the first spray, I got an almost exact dupe of Art of Shaving Green Lavender, which is a nice "barbershop" scent, but I wanted---and expected something much more daring from the Rania J. The Lavender 44 starts out as a "minty" lavender that will neither offend nor intrigue the olfactory senses. Safe for office wear and probably best suited for warmer weather. It's in the dry down that this juice starts to strut its stuff. A dry leather accord come to the forefront and there is a definite oud lurking in the background. Nice and it is no longer a clone/dupe of the Art of Shaving, but rather an intriguing and unique take on lavender. Thumbs up.

This is just an initial impression, working off an official sample. This smells like a dirtier old spice. Almost like Creed Viking without the mint note. Which is good for me because I really dislike mint notes in fragrances. I am still to find one that I like, I can tolerate it in Versace Eros probably because the rest of that fragrance is so sweet. but Lavande 44 has some citrus to it as well, I'm guessing that's the bergamot. Ant the petitgrain gives it a sort of light soapiness so that it is not too dirty. There is some spice, not really sure what it is, it's almost like a bay leaf accord. Overall this scent is pretty complex on this first impression. I'm kind of excited to keep testing this one out. Will post an update as needed.

Nose Note #366 This one won over me... Amazing! You just have to try it to understand. Such beautiful, rich, herbal lavender. And it's sweet and minty and a little oudy. And long lasting! This one just hit the spot for me. Reminds me a lot of the good old soaps they used to make back in the day - and they were common too. Not like todays Dove, Nivea and whatever. Good strong-smelling soap. I think it's a purely masculine scent. And mind - this is dipping heavily into the niche category. I imagine that not everyone will enjoy this at all. If Sartorial is anything like this, then I'm in. I really wanted to try the Sartorial dupe - Moonstone Bleu French Avenue

A cross of Tom Ford's Fougere D'Argent and Gris Clair but a whole lot creamier. In the dry down, it becomes vetiver-centric, with an incensy and woodsy base that resembles vintage Eau Sauvage Parfum. I also get a delicious warm chocolate accord, from the patchouli with a little bit of smoke. I don't get any oud in this, but if it's in there, it's westernized and would very well explain the aroma of smoked woods. All in all, this is lavender, and creamy dark woods done to perfection. A great one for the colder months.

As someone who usually dislikes lavander in perfumes, I have to bow my head to Rania J - this is GOERGOUS. Yes, indeed, forget about the barber shop lavander, here it's earthy, aromatic and breathtakingly beautiful. The sweetness of tonka bean, the earthyness of patchouli and marvelous, marvelous spices. It all together makes this amazing warm, inviting and so uniquely beautiful perfume I HAVE to get my hands on. Marvelous creation, try this even if you are afraid of lavander.

I can hardly contain my excitement at a recent eBay score: gorgeous lavender with vetiver, sweet tonka and herbs. Lavender is present from beginning to end, about 5-6 hours before it’s a skin scent (that’s great for me). Unusual spicy, animalic kick when oud joins the party. I love this oddball of a scent. Looking forward to receiving a small sample of Rania’s Amber Loup from another fragrantica member later this week.

Wow, just wow. The most beautiful lavender perfume I know. It's close to L'Occitane's EdT for men, but it is more unisex, it is much better and softer. The opening is a natural lavender, like the essential oil (I love that so much!), than the lavender tames down and on my skin vetiver goes front. Raunchy, strange and perfect. Try it, if you love lavender. And you thought I could only write grumpy slating reviews...

This is an interesting lavender fragrance. It smells very natural, probably using mostly natural ingredients. The main star is lavender, supported by musk. Thus it is fortunately not a sweet lavender, which I don't like much. It opens with a blast of fresh lavender and progresses to a more subdued lavender with musk, tonka, and a mild patchouli. Completely unisex I would say. And quite long lasting.

Forget how lavender based colognes should smell like, order Rania ́s sample pack and try this. It ́s a smokey/spicey/ lavender/vetiver that IMO is very special, it ́s just lovely. All ingredients are wonderfully natural smelling, and the lavender and vetiver are just heaven. I could be wrong but I think there is a bit of agarwood in this also.

Lavande 44 is like a dry, smoky and woody lavender sweater that i want to wear all year long!!! I am feeling home when wearing this and even want to bade myself in it. That is probably why i am up to my third bottle of this heavenly juice! This is MAGICAL and i thank you Rania J!!!

Very nice lavender herbal perfume. Opening is bright lavender essential oil, then it goes warmer and sweeter, tonka get noticeable. Base is similar to Penhaligon's Sartorial in my opinion. I like it a lot, really calming, good quality and balanced perfume.

This is a really delicious smoky and spicy lavender. Now i like lavender as a roomspray but this is the first lavender i wish i could bade myself in. This makes me very curious for the other Rania's!!! 9/10 (a 9 because of the lasting power)

*edit: The lavender is what makes this fragrance different, but after having it long enough to try a few times I would say that the lavender lasts less time that I initially thought. It’s prominent for about an hour, then is still there for another hour or so but toned way down. After that though, it might be somewhere in the background but I can’t detect it. The mid and late drydown still have the 1819 similarities. Still not 1:1, but definite similarities. Starts off barbershop, ends up warm spicy and mildly sweet. Not a bad thing that it evolves, but like the opening and wish it lasted longer.* I tried this one a few times, including on skin, and kept coming back. It’s a really nice fragrance, and one that actually evolves. I ended up getting a full bottle today. Unlike some folks who’ve reviewed this, I think lavender is very prominent in this. I will say though, that after the mid and late drydown that it isn’t as lavender forward. Regarding the drydown, of all the “reminds me of” listed I only agree with one, and it’s ONLY after the drydown. That one is Burlington 1819. It’s not 1:1, but it definitely reminds me of it, and I’ve owned that one for about a year now. On clothing I’m not sure how different it will be evolution-wise, but I assume that like most fragrances it will be different on clothes. As far as the ones I’ve tried/owned that I personally have no “reminds me of” whatsoever: Sartorial, Fougère d’argent, 1725, F’ing Fabulous. That’s just my nose though.

Unusually warm and mellow, well-rounded scent where the lavender is beautifully blended in with the rest rather than trampling all over it. Like a lot of reviewers on this thread, I am usually a lavender-hater and found this one to be a different game altogether - this is definitely *not* the dry, dusty-screechy, herbaceous aspect you get with laundry sachets, or the zingy-punchy-lemony sort which often drenches the top end of men's colognes. Lavande 44 is much warmer, softer, gentler and oriental-spicier than that; it has a lot in common with the middle range of the same brand's delicious scent Ambre Loup, or the bottom end of its outrageous Oud Assam. So Lavande 44 ends up as an enveloping, soothing ambient sort of scent rather than the sharp smack to the face that fresher lavenders can be, or the choking blast from the past you can get from more ultra-traditional and feminine lavender fragrances. I still couldn't quite grow to love it somehow. In the middle phase it really did grow a little soapy/lotionlike for a while - not in a horrible way, but it cloyed a little. (But if you're still on the fence: this never, ever, ever smelled fake or synth-screechy like a lavender air freshener or other spray horror). Projection was pretty impressive, on me, and longevity also good. If you are in search of a specifically lavender perfume but can't find many you like, this is definitely worth an experiment. But it wouldn't be my top pick from this house.

I love lavender. I find great lavender scents hard to find - TF Lavender Extreme, Bond No.9 Harrod’s for Him and SL Fourreau Noir are the only stand outs for me amongst hundreds I’ve owned or tried. I was excited when I came across this with so many glowing reviews I promptly ordered a sample from Luckyscent. Sadly I found this to be underwhelming. Beautiful as it is TF Lavender Extreme is far superior and in fact more or less identical - I do understand this precedes TF LE so ironically TF LE would be the copy of it. For me even the price difference though is justified as the performance is maybe 3 times better in longevity and scent bubble. In my words I would explain it as take the bright medicinal top notes - 30% off the top and take the deep smooth depth of tonka off the bottom 30% of Lavender Extreme (as well as shorten the longevity to 30% and you would have this. I should clarify I’m not knocking this perfume rather I’m only trying to convey for me this is redundant and admittedly LE is TFs top powerhouse product when you filter through the marketing hype. I think, I need to update my review: First of all, I'd like to thank Rania for the samples, it was a nice surprise! Lavande 44 starts with herbal and spicy lavender and patchouli, and develops into woody-lavender with soft sweet-creamy base (tonka bean?)on my skin. I think, patchouli is worth noting separately, because here, it smells almost like bitter dark chocolate! I really enjoy this interpretation of lavender: it starts masculine, but gets softer in the dry-down, so it is quite unisex. My only concern is that the fragrance sits close to the skin and doesn't project very much. Other than that, it's a really beautiful lavender-centered fragrance!

The lavender is a hint creamy, or at least so so very smooth and I too get something dirty, skanky, animalic or bit sweaty. I've got not much else to add because so many of the reviews I agree with. I think it leans masculine even though I think I'd actually really really like to wear it occasionally in the colder months. While writing this, the skanky/dirty/animalic scent died down a lot and now it's smooth, creamy and masculine lavender on me. Quite lovely, almost delicious. EDIT: It's quite interesting how it seems to keep changing on my skin. Later the dirty came back, mostly went away and next I smelt something almondy too :)

Lavande 44 is a rich, dense lavender, a thick dried-herb brown sweetened with tonka and amber. this is Fuck Yeah, Lavender: a brick-like, solid, satisfying fragrance, nothing complicated, just basic enjoyment. It’s deeply caramelized and mellow, without any soapy sharpness, but a healthy tea-like dryness. I like my lavender best this way — “brown” and warm rather than “blue” and chilly-soapy. It’s somehow simultaneously bracing and cozy. Hiram Green Arcadia might be even more beautiful, as “warm” lavenders go, but Lavande 44 is deeply gratifying in its own right.

Very beautiful lavender, love the opening, lavender and warm spices. It gets sweeter and sweeter in the first hour, then a bit sharper, then sweeter again. Then there are periods of dry, sweet, dusty lemon candy that I don't like. On the fence so far.

Its quite a different take on lavender. Lavender is the main here, and there are chocolaty patchouli 、sweet tonka bean and leathery oud on the base. Sharp and slightly soapy, but also warm and creamy at the same time.

This is what I remember Le Male smelling like in childhood. The crisp, harsh elements are removed from the lavender by something sweet and honeyed. Back seat of Grandpa's Oldsmobile. Roof is peeling.

I like this a lot, but it too closely resembles one of my own mixes. Take your favorite lavender essential oil or absolute and add it to your favorite oud or ouds and voila!

Labdanum 44. Lavande is light on the lavender indeed. This is a resinous labdanum scent, with a clean -almost soapy- lavender note. As it drys down, hints of vanilla (tonka) fade in to smooth out the lavender's sharpness. It is basically that. The other notes are just scent-trimmers to adjust it in the perfumer's vision but are not detectable, especially the oud. Resinous, heavy, lavender, soapy, clean, barbershopy. This is lavender for the winter. The labdanum is just to heavy, spicy, & resinous in here. The clash of notes in this fougere fragrance is intriguing but would be polarizing; some would love it, others won't at all. Masculine winter release. "Ok"

To me the name is misleading - on the whole this is lighter on the lavender and more woody. Smoky brown vetiver, cedar and tonka. Side of oud, patchouli. Reminds me more of Molinard Vetiver than Molinard Lavande. It's ok but mostly just smoky woody. Not a lavender-centric fragrance to my nose. A very modest performer, skin scent even with many sprays. Dry down bears an uncanny resemblance to Floris Vert Fougere - you know, that grey smoke. Reading the older reviews got me thinking if the recipe is "living".

A warm, sweet, musky lavender that loses its terpenic edge as soon as it hits the skin. Thereafter it fades rapidly to a soapy remnant with about as much staying power as a bargain basement shower gel. Contrast this with Jan Barba's glorious Anglais, if you are seeking lavender freshly crushed and singing with energy. Oud Assam apart, all of Rania's fragrances I sampled have disappointed me - a kind of relief, as another "Name" gets ticked off the list!

It kinda falls into that realm of barbershopy. It has the citruses in the top,lavender in the mid and vetiver,patchouli and musk in the base. I also get some spicy cardamom in the base which is not listed along with some cashmere. it's fresh,soapy and kinda linear for the price. Sample before you buy like l did.

I disagree with others that compared this with Lavande Extreme, this isn't a true herbal lavender it is much more metallic toned like Penhaligons Sartorial. Not a bad fragrance, but not one I would pick up a bottle of as the metallic aspect is what stopped me from enjoying Sartorial as much too.

Sweet, creamy lavender. Nothing exceptional here.

I had high hopes for this as the Ambre Loup from Rania J is quite a special affair. But alas this didn't live up to my expectations when comparing longevity and projection between the two fragrances. In fact after 30 minutes I found Lavande 44 quite flat, very close to the skin, though mildly pleasant the projection was weak and longevity rather short. Unless you count the following, (dry down??) mild acidic like odour that seems to last for a long time, (6 hours+). Reading other reviews and this I feel I need to be fair and point out that it could be a reaction with my own skin chemistry and for this I would recommend sampling Lavande 44 before purchasing.

I guess lavender isn't my thing. Reminds me too much of soap or men's shaving cream. This is just okay for me. I get lavender and tonka beans and musk. I love Ambre Loup, so I had high hopes for this one. Rania is a solid perfumer and one of the best in my opinion. But this one just doesn't do it for me. Average longevity 4-5 hours. Okay sillage.

Poor sillage and longevity, sits close to the skin. Smell is nice but I am not a big fan of lavender. Received as a free sample and won't be buying a full bottle.

Lavande 44 is quite a strong fragrance and it took me a few tests to understand it. On initial spray it almost takes my breath away - the lavender is, I agree, very masculine and sharp in the beginning and the vetiver is intense, too. Within a few minutes the scent settles and the lavender loses its sharpness but it stays strong, aromatic, herbal (almost bitter), masculine and it feels very cold! Vetiver gives the composition a fiery-woody note that starts off as 'burning', then goes on to become 'smouldering' before it finishes as 'glimmering'. At the same time the earthy/mouldy patchouli note becomes more and more apparent. I swear I sniff a bit of cocoa powder in the late drydown - this must be the tonka, I guess. All in all this fragrance is quite unusual and bold! The contrast between the cold lavender and the hot vetiver makes me picture a scene in my head: A ritual. Wood being burned at an outdoor altar at twilight. Lavender is placed around the fire in a circle. It is cold and the night is closing in... After the initial scent cloud Lavande 44 settles down and the sillage is quite pleasant (not too much, not too little - just the way I want it). The lasting power is quite good too - the fragrance lasts for around 6 to 8 hours on my skin.

A pleasant lavender with the usual herbaceous vibe most lavenders give me, just like how most citrus based colognes have the same DNA. I don't find it overly masculine, sitting comfortably in the unisex zone for me and I think most guys would feel comfortable wearing this. The tonka is more amplified in Serge Luten's Fourreau Noir which is my favourite lavender based scent without the resemblance to sleep aids. Gris Clair of Serge Lutens is more aromatic a lavender than Lavande 44 or Fourreau Noir(which sometimes has a gourmand vibe on me depending on mood and hormones I suppose). The patchouli and vetivier are present but not to such degrees that would repel patchouli haters, I think both together with the tonka give the lavender more warmth and personality. I agree that this doesn't project very much nor does it last as long as other Rania J's such as Oud Assam and Ambre Loup, I find it faint going past the four hour mark on skin and clothes. It is a decent lavender without any artificial notes discernable to me at least. However I would only hanker after scents that command a more poetic description than "decent" and therefore I would have to pass on Lavande 44. I am definitely more an Ambre Loup girl.

Oops! Fragrantica skipped some notes in this fragrance: petitgrain and oud. Yes, oud is in the base and had I known that, I would have missed out on this gem because I cannot abide oud. Or so I thought. I had resigned myself to the notion that I would never find the spiced lavender of my dreams, but here it is. I first tried it over a year ago; Fragrantican leathermountain gifted me a sample. I disliked it and for the life of me now I don't know why, because I tried it again last week and did a 180. It is richly aromatic, cool spiced lavender, and who knew that oud would underscore that bright herb so gorgeously? Tonka bean gives it a complementary smooth, sweet character, and vetiver, which I have always struggled with, integrates itself well enough into the composition that it does not bother me. It is even sexy, a quality I have never ascribed to lavender before. Very masculine I will say, but I do very well with many men's fragrances. Sillage is medium and longevity is around 6 hours. My search is over, I now own a full bottle, and couldn't be more pleased with it.

Firstly, I would like to thank Rania for the sample pack. I have thoroughly enjoyed each sample. Lavande 44 opens with a burst of natural lavender however first impressions do not reveal the secrets within. Upon opening, the lavender is strong and dry, very much resembling the high quality dried lavender I buy when visiting lavender farms. I feared this would be a one horse show with lavender the star and vetiver giving it the dry masculine edge. But no, this was not the end of the story by a long shot. The tonka and patchouli soften this creation to make a sensual and intriguing fragrance that belies the note pyramid. As the perfume develops it moves from being masculine to comfortably unisex. This perfume will appeal to lavender lovers looking for something different, and will also appeal to those who don't like lavender. Do give this a try, it won't disappoint.

I'll return at a later date to give this a proper review, but for now I just want to say that this was my other favorite discovery of 2015 (next to New Musk Man) and without a doubt has become my favorite lavender fragrance, taking the place of A Taste of Heaven which had been my previous favorite for years. It presents lavender in a few different ways during different stages of its development and each of them work flawlessly. Furthermore it remains clean and professional, as a good lavender should, but always very interesting and alluring. Performance is stellar. Its projection is just right and the longevity is 8 solid hours plus every time. Absolutely worth sampling, and if you're a big lavender fan, just go for it...you won't be disappointed. Excellent!

Very similar to Taste of Heaven by Kilian which is now discontinued. That has more of a unique taste due to the absinthe note but this is basically that minus the absinthe note. Taste of Heaven was a masterpiece 10/10 but it was in a 1.7oz bottle only and sometimes it was close to the close and unwearable but still I gave it a masterpiece score. Fast forward to this here I think this is masterpiece perfected for daily wearable use and a bed time scent as well. I love that there’s a 3.4oz bottle option which I have. I love fougeres so this is right up my alley. 10/10 and thank you Rania since Taste of Heaven is discontinued, I have your creation to keep me company for the foreseeable future. Bravo

Wow! I love this one. I am an admitted lavenderphobe to the point where I tend to overlook reviews of any scent with lavender in the pyramid. I got this along with other Rania J samples included with a recent purchase. I'm not going to dissect it because I'm not sure I understand it. Nothing soapy about the lavender here. All of the ingredients come together to make this one of the sexiest fragrances I have ever tried. Somehow it smells like good, clean though slightly sweaty skin. I wish this came in 100ml and was a little less pricey so that I might douse myself in it. Wonderful.

I have sampled a fair amount of lavender-centric fragrances in my perfumista journey but this one is a standout. One of the nicest lavenders by far! A very dominant lavender note backed up with creamy vanilla and sweet woody tonka bean. It adds a nice weight to it, a backbone to keep it lasting all day. I don't agree this smells like Sartorial... that one is much more soapy and metallic, almost a cold lavender mist, whereas Lavande 44 has a warm quality to it. Would be elegant and alluring on either gender.

As a longtime lavender lover, I was instantly drawn to this fragrance. Lavande 44 leans into a clean, airy, blue-toned lavender, more on the soapy, aromatic side rather than the sweet, vanilla, creamy kind. It’s a true unisex scent: fresh, herbal, and effortlessly refined. Think just-stepped-out-of-the-shower clean, with a soft herbal edge that lingers close to the skin. Elegant in its simplicity, and perfect for those who love lavender in its most crisp and natural form.

The first time I tried this I wasn't entirely impressed. In fact, I hated it. On closer inspection, this spicy baby has deep and subtle layers that just set it apart from other lavenders. Patchouli gives it some dirtiness, tonka & (possibly?) vanilla make it a bit creamy. The oudh in the base makes it a bit skanky. Something genuinely different while also not straying from barbershop norm. Impressed with the Rania J line so far.

starts off resinous & woody, lavender, warm salty fuzzy ambergris not the inky kind, earthy dirt, spicy & peppery, dense creamy woods, has a little bit of a bois du portugal vibe about 20-30 mins it it smells leathery - which is where it deviates from BDP ...very sexy & cuddly scent! about 2-3 sprays medium projection i got longer than 10 hours, great longevity now i want to try more from Rania J
