Al Hobb Al Abady

I blind bought Al Hobb al Abady along with Al Hobb Hayat. I've left a review for Al Hobb Hayat on its page, if interested. Al Hobb al Abady means "Love is Eternal" in Arabic. It opens floral-fruity and is described as an oriental-floral. I tried to find the specific notes in the opening other than the bergamot on Rasasi's website but it only said there were citrus and floral notes, as it says here. I do get some of the rosewood, which has a soft, warm, comfortable, clean smell to it. In fact, this reminds me a bit of Rosewood by Banana Republic, a fragrance that really surprised me and has become one of my loves. In the bottom, I get vanilla and a little cedar. In addition to Fragrantica's notes, there are both woody and animalic notes in the bottom, according to Rasasi's site. It does feel like the base has some wood other than just the cedar and rosewood. For me, this is a well-mixed perfume - it's a beautiful, mildly powdery, mildly musky scent. It's sweet but not cloying. Good for year-round, although it might be a little heavy in the extreme heat of summer. I get moderate to good longevity and sillage out of it. This is very nice. I'll be using it often, just as I will Al Hobb Hayat.
