Attar Al Oudh Red

Cheap synthetic mess.... Don't blind buy it It opens with sharp saffron smell of very bad quality with woody and floral elements. Oud smell is sweet and disgusting and this is one of the synthetic oud having extremely low quality. I have used many oud oils and mukhallat and this is my worst experience.

I'm completely new to Arabic perfume oils, so excuse the clumsy attempt at a review. I blind bought this and "Manal" (also by Rasasi) for a crazily low price because I've recently fallen in love with all things saffron, plus I was curious to try something very different to what I normally go for ("Western" niche perfumes, French classics etc.). Here are my impressions: Attar Al Oudh Red is very long-lasting, almost melting into the skin after applying it (I kinda massage it in a little, feels like it helps the scent develop at it warms up). For someone who's not used to attars, it smells distinctly different to what I normally wear, but in a good way. I get a huge floral note, something sweet that goes beyond the bit of vanilla I pick up, and a whole lot of woodiness/oudh. The saffron note is not as prominent on my skin as I wished it would be. Overall, it's a tad too sweet & floral for me - on me it lacks the depth and smokiness of "Manal" (which I absolutely love). My verdict (on my skin only - I think oils develop so differently for different people): it's nice, but not exactly what i expected and I feel it's lacking some oomph. Too sweet, a bit shallow even but definitely not unpleasant!

Deep high saffron scent!!!! I m not sure I like it!!!! as always I love everything about it the bottle the art but I only get an everlasting saffron smell overpowering the other notes (I can smell roses something woody and a spicy note ) i m not a great saffron lover!!!!! But I m happy to have it and maybe as the time goes by I ll appreciate it more and wear or more often!!! That happens to me all tha time!!! We change with time we age and our senses are changing too! 2 years ago I wouldn't imagine wearing a chypre and loving it so much!!!! So I ll give it time and I ll be back with a renewed review! Once again I would like to say without any profit that Rasasi is an outstanding perfume manufacture And I m glad that I ve discovered a small place in the center of athens that sells those little fragrance jewls!!!!

What drew me to this is the syrupy sweet rose note (not listed above). You will need to like sweet roses and saffron for this. I prefer the initial stages but not keen on the dry down which changes and is more bland. Extremely long lasting on clothes and monsterous sillage. I once wore this on the train and a lady was saying to her kids how sick she felt of a smell - how embarrasing that i never wore it again, must say i did put loads on....hmmmm must go back and smell this in small amount now....
