VALENTINO V HAS AN HEIR ("daarej" means "slang" or "vulgar") I refuse to pay €200~€250 for one of the remaining Valentino V for Men bottles still on sale on Amazon or eBay. In 2019, I blind-bought Rasasi's Daarej. I trusted Rasasi's to make decent perfumes, and, based on some reviews and the notes list, I was hoping it to be a nice above-average sweet fragrance and maybe - just maybe - have a vibe that would make me remember Valentino V. It's really similar to V and an excellent projection and longevity. I am not at ease to comment about 99% similarity, but I can say at least that it satisfied my nose totally. I even think that Rasasi Daarej is a bit smoother, and I like it that way. The 100 ml flask cost me 20 Euros with a local net fragrance reseller. I already used half of the flask juice, and I am going to buy a backup bottle in my next order. Daarej is surely the best Western taste fragrance of Rasasi along with Fattan Pour Homme (my humble nose opinion). The journey starts with a strong but distinguished cumin and a cardamom blast, plus a touch of artemisia. After this promising fresh spicy start, the dominant cumin/cardamom accord slowly unveils some rose and Iris with a bit of smoke similar to the one found in other Arabic perfumes (my guess is a non-listed orris root note). A couple of minutes later you start to notice some fougére and woods, and a second dominant accord that leans towards the sweet, An astonishing musky combo of vanilla, tonka and enveloping amber marks the signature of this fragrance. The seductive animalistic musky notes blend very well with the earthy and smoky patchouli. The vanilla/tonka dry down it's a real head-turner and it does last for more than 8 hours. Sillage up to 6 feet is slightly above average, and it projects for two hours or so. If you are looking for a spicy, semi-sweet, versatile and inexpensive perfume, you will find one with Daarej. With a Lalique-made flask, Morillas or Polge as perfumers and the name of Tom Ford, Hermés or YSL on the label, Daarej wouldn't be an inexpensive hidden gem any longer. It would be a well-known expensive gem. I also do recommend this fragrance for another 2 reasons: 1) All people longing for the Valentino V scent, don't need to look any further. 2) All the people not knowing Valentino V but possible customers of a fantastic Oriental Spicy fragrance should try and buy Daarej. In summary, you should just blindly buy Rasasi Daarej (for 20 Euros or so) because it is an amazing oriental spicy sweet fragrance independently of being similar to Valentino V or not. Spicy, sweet, yet masculine scent. I purchased this last year from Amazon after seeing several fragrance YouTubers hyping this one up. I've never smelled Valentino V, so I can't comment on similarities there. However, this scent did initially remind me of a better blended, rose tinged version of Ferragamo F Black, minus the baby wipes-esque note. But after more time with the scent I honestly feel it does it's own thing. This is much, much better smelling than F Black. The rose mid note here is not feminine. It blends beautifully with the vanilla in the base and the cardamom in the top while giving off a masculine appeal. As for the cumin note, which can be off putting for some, it is very muted in my batch or on my particular skin (which is dry fwiw) so I don't get the B.O. vibe some complain about with that note. Some have labeled this a sexy scent and I can definitely see that here. Very much a night out scent. Not necessarily a clubbing scent, but certainly a scent to wear when its dark outside and you are dressed sleek and want to show off your attractiveness. This is certainly a compliment getter. The scent is not overly complex. With this one you are getting the sexy vibe linearly from beginning to end. In my batch (June 2021 version) the longevity is moderate (6-8 hours). Sillage is decent. Projects strongest within the first 2 hours, then settles into a closer to the skin scent where you will pick up wafts of it for the rest of it's duration. Some YouTubers have mentioned that older batches (think 2019 and prior) had monstrous longevity and projection. My 2021 batch gave me the impression of a solid mid-ranger. Not too strong, not too weak with moderate sprays. Best seasons for this are going to be Spring and Fall, although it is strong enough to work in the Winter. One could also pulls this off during the Summer, but with limited, small sprays as this is a sweet scent. As for the quality, it is synthetic designer, so don't expect niche Roja or Mancera level quality. However, I would put this somewhere in the upper middle tier of synthetic designer. Comparable to a higher end Versace or D&G scent. Despite being cheap, this does not smell cheap. This was a blind buy for me and I was not disappointed. It has become a favorite of mine and I definitely recommend it.

Smells AMAZING, especially when it dries down so I dont understand why its getting so much negativity here on Fragrantica? As for the performance, its moderate as for right now, but Im sure my bottle will "maturate" nicely bc Even Rasasi's Shurah didn't impress me with its longevity when I first grabbed bottle a couple months ago, but ALL THAT CHANGED when I tried it again last week. It lived up to the "Beast Mode" hype, and I hope Daarej will too in time 🙏. Anyhow, dont listen to the negativity about Daarej, it smells really good! The vanilla is NOT a gourmand vanilla, but it does offer a touch of sweet/creaminess which is awesome when paired with the spices and the rose note, is masculine and DEVINE! I also LOVE the freshness which pairs super well with the creamy/semi sweet aspect. I have NOT tried the Valentino, and so the only other scent I can compare this dna to would be Montblanc's Presence bc of the peppery-ness and florals, but Daarej is sweeter, has more Character and offers better performance imo. Its got a 90's vibe, but more modern and its just super pleasant! An 8 outta 10 scent for me and Im REALLY diggin' it. Its just PERFECT as a signature scent bc its not "Too much" and is not a super distinctive or recognizable dna which makes it a bit more "mysterious" imo. Thanks to whomever took time to read my thoughts on Daarej. ------------‐---------edit------------------ Yeah, the performance/sillage has certainly increased since ive allowed air into the bottle and its "maturated" after only a couple of weeks, and now stays on skin for most of they day into the evening. Daarej is just a stunning, 90's inspired, spicey, semi-sweet, masculine GEM which is criminally underrated, and yeah, I suppose it's initially "synthetic" but that's ONLY in the opening and so the "Synthetic vibe" subsides very quickly after application. I mean, look at BR540! Do ya'll really think thats a "Natural dna?" Its Synthetic as they come, yet sells and gets cloned to the point of OVER-SATURATION and at Nauseum, so lets stop bashing great fragrances simply bc they're "Synthetic". Dareej deserves it's flowers point-blanc!

So much hate on this fragrance. I really don't know why. I did a blind buy on this one based on the notes listed. My first encounter with this fragrance was a delightful one. The opening isn't the best - but it's not horrible. A bit synthetic. However, it dries down rather quickly and what is left is just lovely. The bass notes are prevalent throughout. The cumin is present and not too much IMO. There is some rose that accompanies it and its just right. Not too much or too little. What I smell consistently is a lighter vanilla scent coupled with the tonka bean. I detect very little patchouli but I do smell a hearty amount of amber and following up with a bit of musk. After allowing it to settle and do what it does, I'm very pleased with its scent and sillage. It smells rich and much more expensive than it is. I'm saying this is an AWESOME fragrance at an great price!! This fragrance does punch well above its weight class. If it were sold by a bigger name company you could expect to pay easily over $100 a bottle. Take some time with this one. Let the bottle sit for a month or two. Don't give up on it. I am pleasantly surprised and am happy with my blind buy purchase. Worth every cent I paid! Easily becoming a favorite for me. It's not too heavy but does have a decent sillage of about 4-5 feet and the longevity for me was over 8 hours - especially on clothing. It seems there is some variation from earlier batches until now. Mine is 2020's and its great. I've worn this in cooler and warmer temps and it worked well for me. I've gotten favorable comments and smiles from the ladies when I wear it. The reviews say this is more suited for Fall/Winter, but I decided to try it on an 80 degree day with 3 sprays and it was a good choice. Worked just fine in the heat. It wasn't overpowering or cloying. I am surprised how well this worked in warmer weather. Ignore the haters. Try this for yourself. If you like the notes listed, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. The best part is you wont be out much money if you find you don't like it. But, I think you will like it. A lot.

"Synthetic?" Sure!.. Uniquely Beautiful and alluring?.. FOR SURE! This fragrance may smell like what some call " Very Synthetic," but it really smells fantastic, also while I own around 200 nottles of fragrances from "cheapies," to Clones to high end designer to "Niche" NOTHING I own smells quite Like Daarej! Its sorta floral, mildly spicey, a tad powdery and semi-sweet with ZERO sharp edges or initial alchohol blast. Theres a sort of slight freshness that peaks through the soft spiciness and florals which really ends up making this scent so alluring and "special" imo! Throughout my "Scent Journey" Ive learned to appreciate EVERY SINGLE fragrance no-matter how much it costs and Daarej Homme is a prime example why I've adopted that thought process. Now, the first couple.months of using Daarej I was just a tad dissapointed ONLY bc while it did last on skin and clothes, it didnt have the best projection as folks really couldn't pick up on it till they came in for a hug or something, but Daarej "Maturates" quite beautifully although utll take more than just one month, Id say more like 4 moths for it ri reach its full potential, but my goodness! It is SOOO worth the wait! After storing Daarej Homme away and not using it for a few months (around 4 months), it now has really great projection and smells just a bit more potent. As far as really "Synthetic Fragrances" go (although almost ALL are made with synthetics) Dareej may be my #1 "Cheapie... So, Clone" or NOT! I honestly now must give Daarej a 9 outta 10 within its genre of Synthetic frags. Really great and underrated fragrance! Also quite "Unisex" in my humble opinion. This has gotta smell super fantastic on the right woman! I honestly highly, HIGHLY recommend Daarej Homme for men and wo.en alike! Rasasi Dareej for Men is a hidden gem in the world of affordable niche-style fragrances. The opening is vibrant, led by a blend of spicy cardamom and a touch of cumin, giving it a slightly exotic, mysterious vibe. Count me in as a fan, at least after the first 15 minutes. It starts as a more interesting version of Mont Blanc Individuel and just keeps improving. It begins with bergamot, lavender, cardamom and tonka (yes, the ingredients on the box include linalool, limonene, citral and coumarin), which are pleasant but quite common. At around 30 minutes, though, the warm amber, rich patchouli, clear iris and slightly-bitter artemesia notes blow out the walls to make this a multi-note monster. If it ended there, this would be a very good fragrance - but it keeps going. This seems to hit full dry down around 90 minutes on me, at which point the cedar and sandalwood are fully engaged. I really dislike rose, but the rose element here adds depth without any of the cloying scent that I so detest. The drydown continues for at least 6 hours on shirt/chest with 4 sprays, as an amber/vanilla charmer with woods, patchouli, iris and a feisty little floral iris note. Really nice. You won't like this is you don't like sweeter fragrances, unisex fragrances or vanilla. But if you are open-minded, you will likely find something you really enjoy here. I'm in my 5th decade and this works beautifully for me. And if you aren't getting at least 6 hours on this, you got a bad batch (I bought my bottle in mid 2022, purple liquid - I hear the bluer version lacks performance). This defies seasons but I think it plays best in dress casual or less formal occasions. Women could wear this (YT'er Glam Finds is a big fan). It isn't a gourmand, but gourmand lovers should blind buy this. Another great Rasasi, it will join Fattan, Qasamat and Hawas on my shelf.

I'm amazed that more people aren't talking about this scent. It's a hidden gem. With Fall just around the corner, I am look forward to putting this scent to major use. Daarej by Rasasi is another great scent by this Middle Eastern House. If there were any other scents I could compare it to (that aren't discontinued), it would be Amen and Animale Animale. To be clear this is no clone of these it does smell a lot like Valentino V whichthe one of my brothers favorite scent back in the day. It shares similar elements of these classic scents. The same base notes of Amen are found in the base notes of Daarej except for the Benzoin and Coffee. Iit relies on a very nice combination of Tonka, Vanilla, Patchouli and Spices. The rose is blended very well and adds a very nice backbone to the scent. Its not a noticeable rose at all. But I like rose scents and can definitely make it out...barely. The rose in this composition is in a support role. It is a sweet scent although not as much as Amen or Animale Animale but it is sweet, making this scent perfect for the cooler weather. It's performance was decent. It lasts about 6 hours on my skin before becoming a skin scent for another 2. The sillage is wonderful for up to 3 hours and it projects very nicely. I am a huge fan of this scent. Its great for those of you who want the Amen vibe without the Amen Tar and prefer a better quality alternative than Animale Animale. I'm definitely coming back after I wear it several times. So this is a first impression and damn it's a great one. I've never smelled Valentino V, the scent this is cloning, but if this truly a clone, the OG was magical. I just sprayed once on my arm. The initial smell isn't anything radical...it's nice and pleasant, but not mind blowing. After letting this set for about 15 minutes, the magic starts. The first 15 minutes, I guess I got some cardamom. I definitely got a hint of cumin in the first 15 also, not the BO stage. After that 15 minute opening, that vanilla, rose, and orris appears. This elixir is amazing at this stage! It does get powdery as it dries, so you need to be comfortable with that. The silage is superior. Will find out about to longevity as I give this a few more wears. Excellent find for the price! This is signature scent worthy for sure. Update 12/9: Finally got the chance to wear this for a few days. It turns to a skin scent around the 8 hour mark. The projection is very good for the first two hours. The sillage is very good; an alluring scent trail. This is probably one of my favorite seductive fragrances with the use of rose, orris, vanilla, and tonka beans. So, do understand, this fragrance is all about seduction! If this your thing, this is backup bottle worthy. Best/wildest compliment while wearing this fragrance is the unsolicited "I wanted to eat you" LOL. Do with that as you wish lol. Projection: 9 out of 10. Sillage: 9 out of 10. Longevity: 8.5 out of 10. Scent: 10 out of 10. Price: 10 out of 10...can't beat $20. Overall: 9.5 out of 10.

Well Daarej is often said to being similar to Valentino V and I have never smelt Valentino V so can't say anything. This has a very sophisticated scent profile and is actually an underrated fragrance. It's warm, sweet, powdery and has a wonderful blend of spiceness and vanilla. When you spray it on, there a hefty dose of cardamom and cumin and it stays fresh for a little while and then it starts to get warm and powdery. The real magic happens as it dries down. The Vanilla shines through and is beautifully complimented by a faint trail of rose. The cumin here fades but stays in the background and overall the Vanilla + Cardamom + Sandalwood combo gives it a nice warm and sexy vibe. It projects for 3-4 hours and then comes closer to you but it stays on clothes for a day easily. It is a definite compliment getter thanks to its spicy and bold profile and for what it's worth (around 1500-1800 rupees) in India, it's an absolute no brainer. Excellent for our monsoon, fall, winter and the cool spring season. It's also a good clubbing fragrance and yes it is again a wonderful and consistent product from Rasasi. I love the way it smells in its dry down. 9/10..❤️✌️

This one is a particular gem. This is one of the first ones i bought in my fragrance journey. I remember the day i tried it when i got it and felt like ''hmm.. these great reviews can't be trusted''. I didn't like it, although during the drydown, i kept sniffing my arm to get a piece of that delicious vanilla-tonka combo. Performance was bad too, a maximum of 3-4 hours and it was gone. All in all, i was disappointed with all the great reviews in mind. Fast forward 3 years later. Wow... this is one of the best fragrances I've ever smelled, and one which the ladies always seem to love on me. The opening can be a little rough, but if you're patient with it, the mid notes and in particular the dry down is where this one excels!! One of the best dry downs ever. I have a humble collection of 80 fragrances, and this one is one of the cheapest, and one of the best fragrances in my collection, hands down. Love it so much i got 2 extra bottles. Maceration is key here, performance and scent dna will improve, patience is required for this one to truly enjoy this gem. The drydown alone deserves a spot in everybody's fragrance journey.

Holly molly.. I got this perfume yesterday as a blind buy. The opening as most says is a little bit harsh. But that does not last for more than 10 mins. The middle and the dry down are really so nice and soft and you keep getting amazing whiffs from yourself. Today I wore it for work and while getting coffee from the coffee shop a complete stranger woman asked me what I am wearing and she wrote it down lol. This is the first time a complete stranger reacts to my perfume this way. I was stunned. Longevity on this seems excellent. Yesterday when I first opened it I sprayed 2 spritz on the wall of my bathroom at around 5pm. This morning when I got into the bathroom I could smell it filling the air. Guys this is excellent and you can't go wrong for such quality juice for just 35$ Rasasi is completely amazing me with their 10/10 quality yet cheap prices. I have already La Yuqawam pour homme and Al Wisam Day and they are amazing. I'm mad at myself that I discovered this house so late. Fraction of price, niche qulaity juices, beast performance and uniqness 10/10

Daarej needs to be macerated. It's the key step. At first on arrival i regretted it so bad and i thought it was so strong, gross, and watery. I wanted to like it but it was just so mediocre. Now after sitting in the box a few months its like a new fragrance. Still strong, but this time filled with a beautiful and unique mix of cumin and rose, you dont smell a lot of cologne like this. The dry down is heavenly and youll feel like youre in a haze wearing it. opening is kind of spicy water smelling but let it sit on you and it gets very powdery sweet and still with a spicy twist. You get alot of the notes in here actually, the rose, amber, cumin, and cardamom really standing out for me upon first spray. As it calms you get more of the powder from the orris root and that sexy vanilla twist. Don't give it away or toss it on arrival, give it a chance and keep trying to like it, this ones a hidden gem. For only 12 dollars which almost feels like robbery for a luxurious frag like this, its worth a blind buy if youre okay with strong unique frags. 9/10

A very sexy, sweet and a little bit warm fragrance. Got my first compliment from my brother and I'm sure I'll be getting compliments from others too. Definitely a scent that I would wear for a date night or a casual outting with friends but not during summer times but overall, it is still a versatile fragrance. For a cheap price tag, this is definitely worth it. It can be a little bit harsh in the opening but that kinda goes away immediately and it has a little bit of a mature scent during the drydown, so if you're 25 or above, it wouldn't go wrong for you. Longevity is pretty good, I first spray it during the late afternoon (6 p.m) and lasted till the next morning even after getting in the showers. So if you're looking for a cheap fragrance that will get you compliment, this can do the job and you will smell good!!!. p.s Read the notes, or test them yourself in a local store, some may say its a little bit feminine from that rose note but IMO its definitely masculine enough. By the end of the day, wear what you like

Blind bought this based on reviews. I didnt quite like it at first, but after using it all day long, I can see why people talk about it. The vanilla is definitely there, it is sweet, but in a very good, inoffensive way. Manly, elegant, but I miss the hairy chested masculinity, gentleman or laid-back, easy-going kind of factor. I like when my fragrance contributes to my personality as I try to act differently based on occasion and company I am with. Well, this doesnt. This is like "I just want to smell good" and yes, you smell very good with this one. I just feel a bit anonymous wearing it. Btw, the bottle cap is not as terrible as everybody is saying, yes it is all plastic, but very solid and heavy, I have no problem with it. What else do you want for 13€? You already have a juice worth twice-thrice as much. ...and yes, it is well projecting for hours Edit: The more I wear it, the more I like it. I am glad I bought it.

I'll start by saying I give this fragrance a 10/10. It has BEAST longevity, pretty good projection and the scent itself is divine. I never smelled Valentino V, but this Daarej is a fantastic signature scent. It is sweet without being childish. Vanilla and tonic are what I smell most but the vanilla is edged with kind of incense I can't put my finger on. It smells seductive and sensual. I went with six sprays (2 under my shirt, 2 on my neck and 1 behind each ear) but the smoothness of the consistency meant that it wasn't cloying. I danced with a woman that couldn't stop nuzzling me because she was intoxicated by this scent. It makes me smell sophisticated. Nothing makes me feel more confident than when I KNOW I smell great and unique. It makes me stand a bit taller. I'm immediately buying a backup bottle of this because I never want to run out. This will be my go-to 'going out' scent.

Well this is LOUD. Hmm how to explain what this smells like... What comes to mind would be clean, floral, sweet and spicy. I don't have an old batch, I have a newer batch manufactured in January 2024 so take that as you will. Yes it is synthetic but in saying that it isn't the type (for me) to be headache inducing so I consider this to be very good value for your money guys. I almost always blind buy and I am pleasantly surprised by this especially considering that it isn't similar to really anything in my collection so it's a keeper! I just feel ultra clean all day when I'm wearing this, I wouldn't be wearing this in extreme heat though but would be just fine for cooler sunny days easily! I picked this up for $30 AUD ($20 USD) and I reckon its a bargain guys. Get on it.

So, this is like my first real scent that I’ve blind bought. It’s very fruity in floral in a warm way. It’s not super masculine, but it does have a masculine feel. It’s very unisex. On me, the smell is amazing, but the longevity and strength is weak to moderate, which basically you get what you pay for. It was $20, so I’m not gonna complain. Im a teenage guy, in highschool. It’s a pretty juvenile and playful scent. The word I would use to describe it is innocent. So if you want a more sexy smelling scent, this isn’t it. I don’t get the soapy smell that some other people get. The spicy floral comes out more for me. It’s sweeter, but not overpowering or gourmand. It’s a clean scent, good for school. Signature scent worthy. I would definitely recommend this.

This was one of the first middle-eastern fragrances i bought, even then i knew it wasn't a safe blind buy. I was thinking who guy would want to smell like rose, and after receiving this i was still thinking about the same. Now after more than a year i do love it, yeah it's not a super masculine fragrance but it's really well balanced for the price. It doesn't smell cheap, it's very unique and smooth. First thing that comes to my mind is a softened artemisia, there is nothing that would be close to this on my small ~50 fragrance collection. For under 20 what ever money it's a steal and i'm very happy that i have it. It might be the christmas fragrance of the year because i don't know what would be better from my collection for the situation.
