Deep Blue

Got this as free decant To my nose this is indeed an attempt for Green Irish Tweed. Have some similarities to Al Haramain Amber Oud Carbon Edition which is also an attempt for GIT. However in the process to drydown this have that middle stage profile similar to Ahmed Al Maghribi Summer oud, I dont know what or why. I can also sense the burnt rubber in tge final drydown which for me is pleasant, it is reminiscent to ELDO Tom of Finland before it reformulated into Clean Suede (this reformulation sucks btw)

Blend 4/5 (well blend, very balance, calm. Can be linear and boring) Uniqueness 4/5 (calm leather that doesn't scream) Perceived Quality 3/5 (simple and effective ingredient) In my collections of leathery perfumes. Most of them either boost the sweetness too much, or too loud in other notes rather than leather, or having too faint leather altogether. Deep blue is quite opposite; its calm, dry, balanced and well blended. having Iris and all the aromatics supporting the calm leather as the main star. And just enough powdery amber with faint sourness that sustain the scent.

Green Irish Spring Soap & Burnt Rubber Smells like 75% Green Irish Tweed (GIT) mixed with 15% Bleu de Chanel Parfum (BdCP) and 10% CD Sauvage, metallic/sharp/chemical smelling (especially upon initial spray), it has a very sharp cheap pine-like note that overcast the fragrance. FRESH mildly-SPICY/ a little AQUATIC/ a little DARK/ a little POWDERY mildly-SOAPY CLEAN Detect lightly sweet citrus(mandarin orange) in the opening but only last 10-15mins; Dries very fresh bold sharp spicy soapy-powdery (iris); the spice/pepper smells like black pepper (sharp/fresh/metallic-pepper spiciness) not sweet like pink pepper, there's even a mild petrol/violet like accord (hence GIT), together smells like pine or fern; gets more watery/aquatic as it dries (hence BdCP) but has the spicy-metallic-sharpness of a cheap Sauvage clone; Scent composition is actually not that bad, 2-stage development opening to mid for a while then full dry down for a while, it's just the quality is not that good; the smoky-vetiver and the leather are noticeable in the base the vetiver more than leather but has burnt rubber tinge that most cheap leather notes give; Somewhat versatile, good for day or night, gym, in the elements or outdoors, or indoors (if not overly sprayed, has that cheap men's cologne smell, like Cool Water); Doesn't have beastly projection but gives arm's length bubble for the 1st hr then mainly in-close detection.

Smells quite similar to memo Irish leather but an aggressively synthetic version of it. Smells much more synthetic than usual clone fragrances. As much as I love Irish leather, I rarely have the courage to wear this one as it is an absolute nose assault chemical bomb in its opening. And I'm not overly sensitive to synthetic clone fragrances, I can even tolerate cdnim's opening easily, but this is on another level.
