Dhanal Oudh Nashwah

Good Lord this perfume made me make a real comeback in my olfactory memory, about 7/8 years ago I bought a bottle of oud oil from AL HARAMAIN called "Dehn al oud Prachinpuri" it is supposed to be a real agarwood oil from Thailand (from the province of Prachinburi) it was sold in a blue velvet box in a 60ml glass bottle, I remember a unique oud smell but unfortunately it had a rancid vinegar smell behind and I thought the oil had just turned and I threw the bottle away because it was unusable, it is exactly the same oud used in this perfume but without the vinegar smell (thank God), I immediately smelled something familiar on the first spray but I didn't recognize it right away because the perfume is blended with other notes. Concerning the fragrance I smell at the opening a fresh and humid tobacco note that it becomes like a dark chocolate with a slight sweet note (dry honey) and a touch of salt , nothing sweet like Honey Aoud from Montale, I asked my wife what she smells in this fragrance and she immediately said "dark chocolate" You can find in France a range of chocolate bars created by Lindt called "Lindt Excellence" it mixes chocolate with particular notes such as "dark chocolate/salted caramel, dark chocolate/wasabi, etc. .. to me this perfume can be in the same spirit like a 70% dark chocolate/honey. Some may find this scent a bit animalic, but there i's nothing fecal like Indian or Cambodian oud. I recommend this perfume just for the olfactory experience, it is truly something unique, I can't rate this perfume because I have never worn it outside, but I absolutely don't regret my purchase. PS: Fun fact @FreddyK said it smells like a horse, and it's true if you think about that you can smell like the warm skin of a horse, my wife and my children also can feel that, crazy fragrance.

I'm a big fan of Rasasi and Middle Eastern fragrances in general. I own and appreciate Tasmeem, Faquat Lil Rijal, Yazan, Al Wisam Day and Evening, Hawas, Zebra, Al Yuqawam (Tobacco Blaze, Ambergris Showers too) Rasha, Daarej, Entebaa, Shuhrah and countless Al Haramain and Al rehabs as well as others. However, I'm really disappointed with Dhanal Oudh Nashwah. It's nice. It's pleasant but all it really is can be covered by a can of Lynx Oud and Dark Vanilla. The Lynx cost me £6. The Rasasi cost me over 30. The Lynx is slightly sweeter, perhaps a block of Dairy Milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate but that's really about it in terms of fragrance and all measures of performance. Revision 25th March 2018 I've been giving this a good go. Trying it in various situations. Although the thrust of my initial thoughts above are still mainly true I do feel that I was being somewhat harsh. In truth it's obvious that this fragrance did not wow me when I had expectations of being wowed. That wasn't fair to it. After really giving it a proper try out numerous times I'm inclined now to appreciate the quality more than I previously was. I guess this happens a lot when someone starts out. The weather is also a fair bit warmer than my first experiences with this Rasasi and that is reflected in the improved performance that I'm getting from it now. I'm picking up more smoke and it's a wonderful note. Not like something cheap burning but a good log fire. It's darker and deeper than I first regarded it. Glad I stuck with it because now I get it in a way that I was perhaps too ignorant too not so long ago.

Its a pretty good fragrence, esp at this price point. I agree with some of what others have said, its mos def in the realm of TV. Not as hot as TV because your replacing the T & the V with Oud, and honey. Its also not quite as sweet as TV, but close. Its a honey bomb though for sure, so be aware of that. The Oud is not all that discernible, other than giving the deep and dark backbone to the fragrance. It is there though, and I do not find it skanky at all. Well blended scent. What I get is Honey, Oud, Nutmeg, and Amber. It has amazingly strong sillage, I was overwhelmed by the honey when I first tried it this morning, and washed off with some of my Sandalwood & Oatmeal soap. Rubbed the bar of soap over the area I sprayed, and was still getting wafts of it that I found myself enjoying. I was going to try to sell it before that experience, but now its a keep, and a like. May become a love at some point. Update: Layered it with TV one spray of each, and yea...its pretty damn nice. Definitely going to be doing that again on a cold rainy day, or in the winter. Do not be suspicious of the price. it does not smell like a synthetic or plasticy alcohol blast, and I have smelled some of the other cheap Arabians that definitely fall into that category recently. So yea, maybe save yourself some $$, and get a bottle of this, and a 10ml decant of TV. You will be set. ;) @Tiger84, I get not leather at all, but this is my impression from the first day, and first couple of sprays.

I have gone to an online shop yo buy dhanal oud ruwah but It was out of stock. Looking their sister i decided to buy this one instead ruwah. And i think i have made a good decisión. Nashwah is totally different yo ruwah. The opening of both fragances is dirty. On ruwah se can smell a very dirty and animalic oud, almost like the manure smell; but on nashwah the dirty vibe isndifferent. Here i find like a wet tobacco smell, Deep and strong, similar to the tobacco un arabi cana by kolmaz. I can feel the oud too but at the background. The dry down un nashwah is gorgeus. It is a very sweet leathery oud smell, very close to the sweet tobacco smell, for me like a bit more animalic tobacco vanille bu Tom Ford vibe. The performance is great according to the probé of the perfume. It is not a beast but his great linvity (more than 6 hours) and his moderate projection is more than aceptable. I think nashwah performs better under cold temperaturas and maybe with wet ambiente. I think It is weareable at day and at night because of his not strong sillage. I would recommend this perfume to all Who Live the sweet scents... It really worths the price!! Scent: 8.5 Longevity: 8 Sillage: 6 Quality/price: 10 Versatility: 6 Originality: 8 Global: 8

What a wonderful Oud - I've been looking for exactly this one for as long as I wanted An Oud scent and here it is - this is what I've Allways wanted an Oud should be. The honey and nutmeg blends so well together that I hardly can't smell the one from the other. It's heavy and a tiny bit skanky at the first spray but settles down within 30 sec to a tobacco, oud, leather accord and hold this the next many hours. It gets a bit sweeter and more pleasurable but not a super sweet Just balanced. It seems very well blended and I'm surprised that they have been able to pull this off at this price. It's up there with the best of Niche Ouds it's packaging is top notch and super stylish all the way. And yes it has some resemblance to TF TV but for a whole other price tag. I will recommend this to anyone that is into ouds - I will try the other two in the line. Though there's rose in I believe in one of them (I don't like rose). Dahn al Oudh Nashwah has convinced me that I will have to try the other offerings. Presentation is a 10/10 Projection & longevity is a 10/10 The scent to me is 10/10 A scent I will get back to for sure - Great work Rasasi :)

Dark, resinous and woody. The oud in here is the perfect amount and has absolutely no skankiness to it. I agree that this would be a good fragrance to introduce oud to people's noses. It is not offensive at all in my opinion but takes some courage to pull off. I love the honey in this and it seems to be persistent through the perfume's life. While it is dark, this can be quite sexy as well. It just needs the proper attire and timing. I do agree that there is a horse smell in the fragrance but not a barnyardy one, just the natural smell of a horse. I find that very intriguing and this perfume is quite interesting to my nose. Bottle is extremely fitting for the juice inside, a dark, mysterious, sexy, resinous, earthy, sweet, oudy olfactory experience. Excellent value for the price and I can't wait to wear this in winter nights. It does not project a lot for me but then I only tested it with a single spray on my wrist but it seems to last and last and last. I'll probably wear it in my home country where people have absolutely no idea what oud smells like to see the reactions of people.

First impressions. It does have a quasi-fecal (or barnyardy) quality reminiscent of a zoopark, but only if you look for it. Mostly, I'm getting dry and dark burnt woods similar to Encre Noire's woodshop smells plus some honeyed sweetness that probably contributes to the animalic qualities. Reflecting the other reviews and the pyramid, I don't really get tobacco, fruity notes, immortelle (according to Rasasi, it's strawflower, not strawberry leaf), nutmeg or leather. And it doesn't remind me of Tobacco Vanille. But overall, it's nice and it's a bit more earthy than your regular designer oud. Regarding the funk, I would say that it's much less animalic than, e.g., Kouros or Afrika Olifant or Amouage Gold Man, but about the same as Antaeus or Givenchy Gentleman (original), that is, not exactly clean, but still restrained. Performance is not very loud, so it's rather discreet.

Raw leather, oud, dirty honey, and smoky woods... an explosion of boldness! Basically the top is a moroccan tannery bottled and the base possibly the best smoke scent I have ever encountered. Nuclear projection. I thought that Montale Aoud Cuir d'Arabie was the nirvana of (decently priced) dirty leathers, but man was I wrong! At under $30 for a 40ml bottle, it can't contain real oud oil, but man they replicated it so well, that I seriously question if the higher end oud fragrances really have some... Not an easy wear, but a fragrance on which any fraghead looking for a unique and bold fragrance should put their nose on. Simply stunning to my nose, but that the Aventus/Sauvage fanboys might want to pass on. Colder evenings, 30+ (but I'll also try it during a day of mid-August, I swear!)

This wasn't love at first sniff; it took a lot of blood, sweat and tears (or just time, I'm dramatic) for my receptors to work their way digging into this one, but after all that I'm left completely intoxicated. The semi-animalic oud might be a little off-putting for some sensitive noses, because it's quite a heavy note here, but if you like said note you should open a new tab and get this. There is a faint sweet honey/vanilla note for me below all the oud paradise you find yourself in when first applied, and that fresh nutmeg comes in slow, leaving you and your nostril holes in a comfy leather couch. For only $40 this is SUCH a steal... y'all better be opening up new tabs to buy it right now like I said before!

Lavin Avante Garde with authentic oud. Sometimes it is naturally, organically, honey sweet with some smokey vibe to it. Not an incense smoke though. It is reminiscent of fresh unsmoked pipe tobacco. For the"skankiness", sometimes you get a smell of peat moss type of vibe (in a good way) with honey. It is deep and kind of dark type of fragrance. If you love wood, tobacco, and honey type of fragrances, this is your pick. Performance and longevity is EXCELLENT. You will smell it all day with 2 sprays. You can go three, but no more. It stays, and comes back with vengeance-- beast. It is a phenomenal buy at this price. I am very tempted to buy another from this line. Matter of fact, I know I will....

It is certainly a non-Western scent, nothing "civilized", don't politely ask permission to invade your space . The oud that wears this is rural, without pedigree, all very artisan . It is difficult to manage the exit the first time, it is rugged, rough and strong, but it is quickly taken up with affection. Tobacco, honey, wood and semi-tanned leather. Farm chores, stable, but not offensive. Original, masculine and for personal or initiated enjoyment, the general public squeaks with this aroma, I think women would send you a good shower, at least the most mainstream ones. I like it, good blind buy in my case

I dont know if this is same as vanilla tobacco by tom ford, what i know is this js one of the best long lasting fragrances i have ever bought and the price is just unbeatable. EDIT : I tested the tobacco vanilla today in dubai mall and i dont see both perfumes are similar, for me nashwa was the bettef fragrance and i could not justify the 1400 AED between both perfumes, Tom Ford has strong vanilla scent which reminds me of icecream, felt a little feminine, however both of them has strong start with tobacco scent.

It ́s very komplex and interesting perfume. It smell more expensive than it is. Imagine old box from juniper wood, which is decorated by smooth thin leather outside. In the box you can find wet, fresh, dark, sweet cavendish tabacco to pipe (because honey). I ́s not primary sweet fragnance, fortunately. Just rich tabbaco with deep woods, pinch of refreshing nutmeg and leather. Excelent autumn scent for elegant, confident woman (I imagined Marlen Dietrich). It have great longevity and good projection.

Beautiful fragrance especially for the $$. The pyramid is a bit misleading because oud is found at all three levels (top, heart, base)and the heart notes contain strawflower and not strawberry leaf. Nashwah opens with an all encompassing honey and a rich full oud. Within 30 minutes the honey begins to transpose into a sweet leather/oud frag. I get well over 8 hours of longevity with a good 3 hours of arm length projection.This is another highly recommended fragrance from the house of Rasasi!

I've got a January 2020 batch and it doesn't seem really performing. Watered down a lot. Longevity is ok I guess and projection is really bad. I smell smoky leathery cedar and maybe vetiver with a little bit of dark chocolate in the opening/mid and some soft oud in the dry-down. It's very woody and dry, no sweetness. It reminds me of Encre Noire, but without the citrus. Can anyone confirm the batch and performance? Also which batches do you have?

Mature lady here. Boy, this is VERY smoky on my skin, almost too much. However I mix it with TFord’s lost cherry and it tones it down and I get a smoky cherry 👍❤️. It lasts for hours and projects well. If you overspray this people will think you fell into a campfire. Definitely better for cold weather (here in Canada it’s perfect during fall and winter). Not for the faint hearted, but excellent quality and very fair price.

There's a temple deep in a cave in the desert. Miles must be traveled through scrub and sand to get there. In this temple, there's a dark wood altar to a pagan god. Offerings of cinnamon, honey, and incense are preferred for the invocations. Shelves full of ancient tomes line the walls lending the dusky air notes of parchment and leather. Long lasting, strong projection, delicious.

Not a restrained scent. Spritzed on, and the strong Honey and Oud combo almost leads to that perceived 'skankiness', almost smelling animalic somewhat, but then the drydown happens, and the leather is there with some of a tobacco accord floating in the back. I do get the Tobacco Vanille comparison, siblings in the same family. NOT a blind buy, but a gorgeous scent nonetheless!

Maybe I'm crazy but, to me, this is like an arabian version of TF Tobacco Vanille. It always reminds me Tobacco Vanille. Dry oud, honey and spices. Lovely! It's a pretty daring fragrance for those who are not used to middle eastern concoctions. Way better recreation of oud than most of western houses who pretend to use real oud. For the price, this is a steal.

I smelled Frederic Malle’s Musc Ravageur today at their boutique and I noticed that the animalic musk in that fragrance reminded me of something.. I owned this once and enjoyed it however I couldn’t wear it much due to the climate I live in, so sold it off. Now I kinda want it again.. A very complex scent only for mature noses, challenging but rewarding

Geez........!!! This was a challenging one for sure. Smokey...campfire...nutmeg-ed honey vibe..woody/oud. So crazy..!!! And...I LOVE IT !!! Not for everyone...but I still blind bought it...lol. I even ordered a back-up, since it is now discontinued. Good perfomer...and when the drydown comes..it is "tamed" down and quite wonderful...to me.

I got it today. It smells good, but I would prefer a little bit more oud and a little less honey. Otherwise, a very nice and strong scent. Beware of the honey, it is a kind of prominent here. EDIT: After a couple of days using it, I like it very much. It's a great blend. Well done.

wowee; strong, masculine, $25 on beautyspin in the good old days; oud, coffee, chocolate, tobacco smell but it really is oud, honey, leather and wood; dries down sweet honey and oud in middle then to a dirty, musky, skanky, salty almost ambergris, after-sex smell

This fragrance is so good. At first spray it is very creamy sweet, woody, maybe a little bit tobacco. How I did imagine it. But after a while on my skin it smells more masculine.... It is funny, but It reminds me of my father ́s office when I smell this scent:D

when I read the reviews,i thought I was in for something beyond special. an olfactive orgasm. but to be honest, I find this very wearable and pleasant. I thought it would be like Oudh Infini by Dusita. it is totally wearable and classy to me actually

Absolutely amazing! Incense and woods, with a deep honey. Incredible quality for the cost. Perfect for cooler weather, and very comforting. On my skin the drydown is similar to Back to Black! Wowzy!

1881 Signature but 100x more concentrated. People are smelling this passing 10 meters from me only after half a spray. Absolute monster. To me it smells similar to incense sticks.

Wow! This perfume is intoxicating. The honey and oud combo is divine - sweet, warm, and slightly spicy. It lasts all day and I get compliments everywhere I go.

My favourite Rasasi perfume which is sadly discontinued. In my opinion it's the best perfume rasasi ever made. I wish they would bring it back one day 8/10

Honeyed tobacco. Outstanding quality for the price (I paid €16 for the 40ml). Blind buy worthy.

Anyone who's ventured beyond the hollow simulacra that is the word "oud" advertised in the name of one designer fragrance after the next more than likely knows that agarwood's spiritual presence and olfactory excellence is in part due to the way our mind and soul enjoy contrast over time: something terribly raunchy might also hide a breath of heaven or something lurid and bodily might give signs of art. Dhanal Oudh Nashwah understands this clearly by its name, which translates to the "fat of the wood" and "happiness"/"ecstasy." Smelling raw honey is not unlike smelling this fragrance. You get the bees and pollen and the propolis too. Here's another analogy: a toolshed covered in sawdust and one oily rag that's cleaned all the tools. That's to say, the sweetness of the Dhanal Oudh Nashwah experience of what I suppose is a vanilla-like amber comes tinged with an outdoorsy, feral motif that moves around in the air, while I breathe in and out, heavily. It's hard to fault a fragrance that is so clearly punching above its weight but, if I had things my way, I'd ask for the ratio of these contrasts to be reversed, especially in the dry down.

woa!!! how spot on @FreddyK 😱 I've never been around a horse enough to know how it smells but when I moved my wrist near my 7 year old, she just went "I don't like that dad. Smells like a Horse" hahahaha. So you must be right in that sense. Quite a unique spicy fragrance I have to say, and one that is certainly not going to be for everyone. Key attributes: - very masculine and mature - woody and smoky - earthy, rusty and animalistic (perhaps that's where the horse semblance comes from lol ) - Tobaccoey - middle eastern vibe (in a nice way) - powdery musky overtone In all, I am happy to have it in my collection, but certainly would be wise not to rock it anyhow and anywhere. Don't want to be likened to a horse. It projects decently, but sillage and longevity maybe borderline. Shines after about 30 mins to 1 hour of spray, so you may want to time it when you're going out. I see it being more of a winter and evening fragrance. I won't blind buy but I certainly won't knock it. Great options to try from this house are the infamous la quayam pour homme, tobacco blaze, hawas (compliment magnet) amongst a few others.

Dhanal Oudh has both love and hate, and everyone is entitled to their opinion because I'm starting to notice some reviewers being quite bashing over other reviewers whose take on a particular fragrance isn't a positive one. The same right that someone who likes a fragrance has in freely expressing themselves is the same right that someone who doesn't like a fragrance has. I think it is illogical and dare I say hypocritical to say that someone who has a negative opinion should keep them to himself or herself "so that other people can make their own choice", yet the same people give a positive review as if positive reviews don't contain the same potential to influence others in their decision making. Reviews are what they are, and that is to express one's take on a product or service whether good or bad. When we can't all respect that, it makes forums like this a pointless one where people would only reckon with your review if they are good. Once they are bad, they tell you to keep your mindless opinion to yourself. No no no, stop it!!

Really lovely Oud. This is just that kind of scent what smells of wood and horse on your skin the next morning. Not for manure, but for a horse. If you’ve ever dipped your nose in the neck of an Arabian horse, you know what I mean. This is not the scent of Montale Honey Oudh, this is like something older. One could imagine this to be like that original scent where that famous Montale could have a modern interpretation of. This is dark, woody, smoky, aromatic and tarry honey. Very manly and luxurious, yet sweet and attractive too. this is not a shame alongside its more expensive colleagues. Little gem for every oud lover! *My bottle has been macerated for months now and indeed: the horse is still there, but has calmed down, the smell is of animalic honey and dark chocolate! Wow.

I'm wearing it 2nd day straight. I didn't want to write a review so quickly but as I read the other reviews I couldn't stay away. It is not unwearable for me and it doesn't smell like horses. We're not in far west and not everyone knows how a horse barn smells. It's not so strange as the most zoologist fragrances are. Surely it's not for everyone and sure doesn't fit for young people. It's not a club or date scent but (for me I repeat) it's not so tragic. Especially if you layer it with something else, but that's not necessary. It's not a love but either a hate. It fits more in cold weather. I'll be back for further information.

initial spritz transported me back to my childhood hoidays visiting my beloved aunt who lives in a village at central greece,and i recall opening the car window and take a deep breath.wet soil after rain mixed with burning woods and a splash of honey in a cup of hot tea by he fireplace .but just because it reminds me of inoccent times doesnt mean that this perfume isnt the same time sexy and seductive as it dries down..the woody element becomes less sharp and elevate this to a perfume equal if not better than many niche who are expensive with no good reason.

OMG, this perfume is so heavy and brutal at first. When I sprayed I didn't like (the top), it's strange and weird, bitter-medicinal, the honey kicks immediately with the nutmeg, I think the drydown is more likeable, more smokey. Smells like Indian shop and spice market, full of incense and spices. If I dig my nose to my skin I can feel the oud too.This juice is very special experience to my nose. It's very balanced in terms of sweetness, it contains minimal dose, rather more natural incense/spicy. I recommend for the experimenters:D

Beeswax, campfire-smoke, fresh hay, soil... and also animalic oud. The oud smell in this is not "funky", but it almost is. Quality is top notch, 40ml bottle priced 40EUR is just crazy affordable. Rasasi's Dhanal Oudh collection went missing years ago and for a long time I thought they had been discontinued but now I see they are available again. Highly recommended if you are into smoky oud and honey. It's not a safe blindbuy, in my opinion, so I suggest to try to sample it first.

This was a blind buy that I loved form the first try! The box is very interesting made of real wooden leafs, the bottle is also great! At first spray it is very sweet overwhelmed by the honey a little woody with some of a tobacco accord in the back. It has strong sillage and longevity.

Blind buy and i really do like this fragrance, you get a strong oud scent and i love my oud. Only thing thats a slight negative is i get a chocolate hint and its just a hint so i dont really mind it but i am usually not a fan of chocolate ouds. For the price its a must buy.

A centaur in a leather jacket hands you a freshly packed pipe full of moist tobacco after you just finished a piece of dark chocolate.

The first hour or two is promising - I get the animalic oudh dripping with honey and a touch of leather, with a powdery musk backbone, but after a few hours all I really get is a very powdery soft musk with a bit of oud. Was feeling pretty optimistic at first but am now fairly disappointed. Might come around on this one, but it is unexpectedly powdery given the other notes.

Man, what a memory to see this fragrance popping up browsing random Rasasi's. When i got this maybe 4 years ago, i was not prepared for what my nose was about to smell. Basically, it smelled like the leather of a horse saddle that has been servicing the asses of hundreds of tourists on a scorching mountain top somewhere around the Mediterranean/ Middle East. With added goat-back essence on top of it. I really disliked it, and nobody was willing to accept it as a gift but i was truly eager to give it away. So my friend gave it to his father, who gave it to a friend of his, and now it has stumbled unto the unknown, chilling in a collection of some random old, arabic man. Or thrown in the sewer. This comes from someone who adores intense and pungent leather, woody, dark scents. And who really enjoys animalic notes when combined artistically with other lighter, more subtle or playful notes - or even the ''right'' leather. But this one was way too goat-backy and horse-assy for my taste. The box presentation was cool though.

I would say my taste can be unconventional but I just can't get over the barnyardy smell. On the positive side, it does smell like it has real oud - just not good quality oud. It's a shame too because I get the feeling the fragrance itself is well put together and could be awesome.

Super Oud heavy. Can smell the sweetness from the honey. Super heavy and long lasting Not something I would wear. I would reach for Lalique Encre Noire if i wanted to smell like a tree. Beautiful scent but not for me. Would be awesome as a candle scent kind of thing.

I own over 34 perfume i just start 2 years ago and i buy a rasasi perfume back in the day and i was quite suprised with that and i blindbuy this one i read the review most of them was good but they sad you need to have a complicate noise for this type of fragrance and i say to myself maybe i am ready for this but NO NO this was the most discusting perfume i ever buy and smell every time i smell it i throw up i dont know maybe the animalic note was to much for me or maybe my nose isnt ready for heavy oud.
