Junoon Velvet Pour Homme

Fell in love with Iris Malikhan last winter. Bought a little 30 ml bottle. It was empty within a month. Because of the pricetag, did not buy a new one. Then I got a 10 ml sample of Memo Italian leather. Boy, I was the luckiest girl alive, because this was difinitely Irish Malikhan ‘s older sibling. ( a little less iris, a little more tomato leaf green ) It was empty within less than two weeks. And then I found this gem. Exact same vibe, dry, powdery, balsamy, sweet, perfectly unisex. Where IM is a little lighter and a fraction more feminin, Janoon is just a little heavier on the oriental side in the drydown, but I am really REALLY happy with this purchase. I can’t wait for colder days to wear this, cause for summery warm days I think this will be too leathery for a really pale ginger girl. ( or maybe.... It isn’t!? Let’s find out soon! ) But for now, when the evenings are still pretty cold, perfect for date night!!!

Opulence and royalty that’s what this says. I’m Arab. This is a dress up fragrance. A wedding fragrance. It’s warm, complex and dense. A unique combo of a warm, green leather. Not animalic but sweet and soft. Excellent fragrance to have in your collection if you want something special. For those wondering about the tomato leaf, it just adds a slight green element to the fragrance which works well, makes it special without messing up the luxurious presence of this perfume.

Rasasi Junoon Velvet pour homme I just discovered this one.. the bottle arrived last night and I am totally smitten... sitting in a cloud of Junnon Velvet Pour Homme right now It's ravishing, energising and also comforting... and filled with history and imagination The beautiful green note of tomato leaf that nestles on a bed of leather, labdanum and sexy vanilla... and then the dry, sophisticated rasp of galbanum softened by benzoin, woods and orris root.. Heaven

Easily one of the best blind buys from the middle eastern houses and extremely underrated. This is dry, airy, resinous, woody and slightly nutty. Amazing cloud, it doesn't overwhelm but sticks around and hugs you for most of the day. Definitely a 10/10 for me. Backup bottle worthy for sure!

Cocoa forward to me! Wonderful, then light leather, plus all the precious resins and a little musk and sweetness. Tomato leaf only really blasts through at the very beginning. A wonderful scent and quite different.

What a find. An absolutely incredible fragrance. Criminally underpriced for what it is, but I’m not complaining. Fall/winter, evenings. Definitely date night. Stunning.

Outstanding composition, unbeatable value

Okay, I never smelled Italian Leather by MEMO, but after this, I might have to. This is a wonderful example why everyone at least try some of the less known Arab creations, even if they are dupes/inspirations. With this, I cannot state in what degree this is an original creation, but honestly, I could not care less - it is very good. First things first, let it dry. The least favourite part for me is by far the opening, which has a strange minty-piney effect to it because of the tomato leaf (I guess so), but after the scent calms, it totally evolves into something very cozy and inviting. The name is somewhat confusing as it is indeed a leather focused fragrance, however, in the drydown I get the 'velvet' name to some extent. It becomes a wonderful, velvety, dry suede on skin, with a definite white floral edge and a lot of vanilla. What truly makes it for me, is that it has some chocolatey-cofeeish vibe to it, I guess it is the florals messing with the vanilla, nonetheless, it is very good. Performance is usual for Rasasi - u get an easy 10 hours on skin, and it projects just fine. Not your typical nuclear type of Arab fragrance, but that is not a problem for me, makes this a little more versatile and wearable. I'd say if you like leather fragrances in general it is a safe bind buy with its low price. It is not your typical leather jacket or car interior like scent, it stands closer to a suede-velvety like leather, showing a different aspect of a this note. Definitely unisex, might even say that it leans a little bit feminine. Not to mention that I got this for about EUR 16-18 on a discounter - ridiculous price for this fragrance. Arab creations require a lot of patience and some luck - some of them are utter trash, while there are gems likes this.

#1183 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Pretty straight forward clone of Memo Paris "Italian Leather." The tomato note is more "Campbell's Tomato Soup" than the greener "V8 Original Vegetable Juice" tomato of Italian Leather, but I doubt many will note the difference or care. It's a nice scent at a bargain. Warm weather wear. Business appropriate, long lasting, strong projecting. But there is something different with this scent that is triggering a runny nose for me, something that does not happen with the Italian Leather. So I'm suspicious there's a specific synthetic here, different than in the Memo scent, that I'm reacting to. It dissipated in under ten minutes whatever it was, and then it was fine, but for me, while I find this a really accurate dupe at a great price and I like the scent almost as much as the Memo scent it copies, I'll find another home for this and stick with the Memo.

Just bought a full bottle of this after smelling a sample a few months ago and thinking about it ever since. This is my first full bottle purchase, and I definitely recommend it for others considering it. The price point is really unbeatable, and the perfume doesn't smell cheap at all. The scent is extremely warm; the vanilla, tomato leaf, and leather definitely dominate. In the bottle it smells oddly astringent and sharply sweet, but on my skin it becomes much more even and dry. It's like reading a leather-bound book in a cozy room with wooden floors, a fire in the hearth, while a beautiful tomato plant sits by the window. Or walking through a garden on a hot day in vintage leather loafers. Reminds me of summer, although I see why most would categorize it as a winter scent. Good longevity and sillage, it fills the space when you wear it.

Super versatile, gentle, easy-to-wear tomato leaf, benzoin, and suede fragrance. The tomato leaf is the dominant note in the opening. I only wish it lasted longer; after 30 minutes, the vanilla takes over and endures for the life of the fragrance. Linear drydown; excellent longevity and moderate sillage. Junoon Velvet is basically a skin scent that lasts for a long time, which is part of what makes it so versatile. Lasts days on clothes. Will not offend anyone except those who hate all perfumes and those who are allergic to tomato leaf. Decent value for the price. The cap is cheap, but the design and quality of the bottle is amazing. A most worthy alternative to Memo Paris Italian Leather. 9/10

I really like this scent for fall. The price makes it even better. Definitely punching above its price point. Pretty leather forward. For some reason I get a tobacco like scent, almost cigarette scent, in the opening. I think it might be the tomato leaf? Either way it pairs well with the leather and vanilla, and fades after about 30 minutes. Great scent!

Its really nice, essentially a budget alternative for Italian Leather by Memo. It lasts forever and has an overall really nice quality to both the scent and the heavy bottle. It has the same use case as Junoon Leather in the same line, but much more wearable imo. Highly recommend.

#52 Isn't it Rasasi Shuhrah Amped to power of 4X ? It feels like someone who smokes 10+ cigarettes a day . That is what making it less versatile. Edit : I was Wrong And this one is some Incredible stuff 8/10

This was a blind buy, partially inspired by the fact that "Junoon" in Arabic means "crazy". I can attest to the quality, and the niche-ness of the scent. One aspect that I don't see discussed, however, is the strong iris element, that rides head to head with the vanilla, the tomato leaf and the resins. I don't love iris, especially in its lipsticky form as here. Leather can provide something of a buffer, but the leather here is slight and in the background. The tomato leaf gives this a vegetal quality that I think could work really well if it weren't for the iris. I will update this after a few more wearings, but the takeaway is that iris-resistant folks should proceed with caution on this one.

Doesn't even smell good. Smells like weird herbs, not in a good way. It doesn't smell terrible, but 100% not a pleasant smell to be used as a perfume! I myself am absorbed in aromatic, amber, leather, and iris/orris scents, like Dior Homme Parfum, Prada l'homme, or grand soir, or ombre leather, etc., but this one doesn't smell good in either way. UPDATE: after a couple of hours, the weird opening aromatic scent goes away, the drydwon is acceptable/good-ish.

Blind bought it. Honest review would be: - it was cloying for me at first since I’m used to sweet, floral, and fresh citrusy frags. By time it got better and I got used to it. - loving it so far. Today is my second day of wearing it. - Sillage and longevity is excellent. A feet away, you’ll easily be noticed. I try to limit my sprays because it is a potent frag. (1 back of neck, 2 clothing shoulder area) and still I could smell it even with a subtle slow movement. - bought it thru Jomashop 50ml = $30ish, def worth it. Worth the buck! - if you love leathery scents this one is for you. If you’re into the opposite side of scents, you’ll eventually love this as much I did. (One of my fav frags now)

For the price you will not find a better presentation. Did I just receive a $300 bottle because it seems like it. Amazing thick glass bottle that I have never seen before. Juice is excellent as well. Sweet Vanilla and leather, slightly powdery. At first I thought it was a niche take on Code Absolute. If your looking for a sweet leather Date night scent this might be the one for you.

I agree if anyone feels like this smells like the more expensive Maison Crivelli and Memo Af Leather, because I do see the similarity. They smell so so alike - soothing chocolatey and musky. This is unisex frag to me which to my nose leans more masculine. If you have both or all three of them, then there is classic redundancy there because the trio are triplets for sure.
