Khaltat Al Oudh

I blind bought this without expecting too much, since it had few and mixed reviews, and because it was on sale for only 8€ (for a 50ml EDP?!). Nevertheless, although I didn't know the brand, I had just previously purchased two other Rasasi fragrances ("Al Wisam Day" for 37€ and "Faqat lil Rijal" for 30€) and I must say that I had been (and still are) deeply impressed by both of them, because their quality is far beyond their price range. (They are amazing; I will soon write a review in their respective pages). All in all, for such a low price I couldn't resist to add it to the shopping cart. And when it arrived, when I sprayed it and got the first sniff of it I instantly recognized another perfume which I loved! This is "Santal Majuscule" by Serge Lutens!!! Although I do not own Santal Majuscule myself, I know it pretty well, trust me: I liked it a lot when I first smelt it in a shopping mall (that blend of rose, cocoa and sandalwood), and I liked it so much that I couldn't help spraying it whenever I passed in front of the Serge Lutens' stand. The only reason I didn't bought it was because the 50ml EDP was 120€, and I had recently already bought some EDPs and EDTs from Diptyque and Annick Goutal, so I didn't want to spend more money. Then, consider my amazement when I smelt "Khaltat Al Oudh"! It is, to my nose, at least 90% or 95% similar to Santal Majuscule, but... what is even more astonishing is that it smells even BETTER! I think it must be the oud instead of cocoa. I love cocoa and chocolate, but I also love oud, and the mix of oud+amber+musk could be a perfect replacement for cocoa in this perfume, who knows. The fact is that for me it's an incredible and inexplicably cheap version of Santal Majuscule, offering a wonderful mixture of rose, oud, sandalwood and amber in EDP concentration. Regarding Khaltat al Oudh itself, it's a warm and delicious fragance. I couldn't say whether it's a masculine or feminine scent; it's truly unisex (it will depend on your personal taste), so it could be a perfect gift for anyone (as long as they like it, of course!). The rose is powerful and easily recognizable from the start. It's in fact a high quality rose, not cloying, not artificial-like, not overwhelming. It's perfectly balanced with woody notes provided by the agarwood and sandalwood. Although it's a base note, the sandalwood is noticeable in the opening, and it's very well combined with the powerful oud. Some time later, the amber and finally the musk make their apparition progressively. If I didn't know the price and I was told that this costs 60€ per bottle, I would pay the price. Believe me, it's THAT GOOD. On my skin it has moderate duration with good projection (5h with 2m radius), then it stays 1 or 2h more with a 50cm - 1m radius and finally several more hours when it gets closer to the skin, but keeps being clearly noticeable. An average EDP performance, so it's OK for me. I own several expensive perfumes and some others from cheap to moderately priced, and I've smelt and tested many many more (some of them really expensive) so I know what to expect in a fragrance. And Rasasi has amazed me again. I don't know if 8€ is its real price or an incredible offer, but I've just bought another bottle of this. Rasasi, I take off my hat to you. If you like Serge Lutens' Santal Majuscule, you can safely blind buy this, don't fear wasting your money. This won't let you down! I hope anyone could have the opportunity of smelling this little gem.

Daisy^Slava – that’s is a very strange thing...On my skin Khaltat Al Oudh is a very nice scent with dominant amber note...Oud is not the big player here – there is some oud notes in the beginning, but after 30 minutes, everything is smooth and nice. Rose note is very loud in the beginning, but after an hour amber and musk are the two most powerful notes. That is my experience...So I would recommend Khaltat Al Oudh to all amber lovers – long lasting and nice amber tones, mixed with musk, oud and rose. The first 15 minutes are a little bit challenging due to oud, but nothing to worry about... This scent will be very nice on men in fall and winter...I’m not so sure western women will like it-may be western women will find it a little bit heavy, thick and old fashion, but I’m sure if you are a men with some interest in Arabic scents and amber in specific, you will find it interesting... Longevity and silage are both great.

I think it's lovely. I am an older woman, and it suits me very well. The rose is really nice, and it's very woodsy, and for me the oud is quite prominent, and lovely. I have smelt a lot of oud perfumes, and this one is better than a lot of them. Really very enjoyable, with quite an incensey undertone, and a lovely balsamic feel. Very sweet and gentle, with a nice smooth musk as well. Very very nice, and it lasts for most of the day, and carries a good arms length. Lovely dry-down, and everyone around me really loves it too. Very much for a woman I think. Beautiful.

A graceful, neat and smart Arabian princess. Powdered rose oud that is soft and smooth enough to be accepted and even appreciated by a standard European nose. I find it even fitting, yet charismatic (woodsiness, aww) enough to wear in an office. An extremely affordable beauty of good quality, with 6-7 hours of longevity and moderate sillage. I found myself loving it as a special take on spring fragrance - Khaltat Al Oudh is very elegantly uplifting.

Armani rose prive styled but less than half of the price, dark and masculine, so suitable for long nights of celebrations, rich oud, rose and amber, magical like a night in saudi arabian jaimas of the desert

First fragrance in my life .....if I find 10 bottles I'll buy them ...the scent that enterd me to me to scents world

smells expensive,lasts quite a lot in skin and the bottle is elegant,what else can you ask for 25 euros?

This composition can mislead some men. Rose???? Most are already skeptical. Well, the rose is a clean rose that is well blended with the oud, sandalwood, and other woody notes. The oud is not skanky at all. Comes of a little "perfumey". I know more men maybe skeptical again lol. Relax, MIP or DH level feminine quality, no iris of course. More of a woody floral. Nice for all ages and sexes. HOWEVER, 10 mins later, the sweetness gets cut in half and the sandalwood kicks up to "man it up" a bit. TOTALLY unisex. I agree with the comment below about declaration d'un soir. It doesn't smell like it to me, but it is declaration d un soir done by a Middle Eastern house. Better performance and drydown. All the notes are still noticeable throughout the scent life. At the price...the longevity (6+ hrs) and crowd pleasing (without overspay) appeal...this is a easy 8/10. For me it's first off a fierce urinal cake (not listed in the notes!), but settles down into a woodsy rose. I don't get the sandlewood I was hoping for after blind purchasing based on the santal majescule comparison by a previous reviewer. It's a nice scent but it seems to be to play close to the skin after the urinal cake note thankfully leaves. It's nice and I will wear but I'll still have to invest in SL Santal Majescule! Update. A week or so later and I'm loving it. Same harsh opening but the creamy dry down is addictive! Hahah update four years on and i now realise this was probably my first experience of oud!

This one is a disappointment, I get nothing but a generic rose and the slightest trace of something woody. I get no amber or musk, and if that very faint woody trace is oud or sandalwood it's so diluted that it can't be recognized. I did get it for a very cheap price, but having said that, I much prefer Al-Rehab's Mokhalat Dubai as a rose/woody type fragrance - and that was even less expensive! I like the bottle Khaltat Al Oud comes in, but there's definitely something lacking in the contents.

This perfume is SO luxurious! The oud is definitely prominent but balanced beautifully by the rose and a soft sweetness. It lasts forever too - I spritzed it on in the morning and could still smell it faintly on my clothes at night. Highly recommend for anyone who loves warm, woody scents.

I used to have bottle of this in highschool. To me it smelled spicy and strongly of red grapes. I really miss it and haven't been able to find it anywhere that ships to my country

EDIT: It gets a little better, but it's too synthetic. I smell something "medicinal", like an anesthesia odor. EDIT 2: The drydown is much better, but very very synthetic. I bought this for USD $7 on Notino. I had high hopes (innocent, I know) but my first impression is that it smells like cheap plastic and burned tires. I'll keep testing it but it wasn't a love at all.

Just not as good as the Lattaffas; went on very dry Arabian spicy oud scent and I loved that but then it got sweet; reminds me of synthetic Al Haramain without the rose; lasted less than an hour as the big scent it was and became a skin scent that smells like a cheap cologne with a hint of musk

I had this fragrance, but I didn't like it and sold it. I think this is not unisex rather older femme scent. Smells intensive dry rose and wood, for me its too oldish, I feel also like an incense or church smell. The sillage is very low, lasting is not so bad, moderate

I am recently into trying a little more heavy oriental type of fragrances at gave this a try. At $10.60 this blind buy was little to no risk, I mean.. $10.60!! bough it only based on its descriptions and reviews here and I was not disappointed. I am not usually into heavy rose/sandalwood/oriental fragrances but this was surprisingly delightful and even fresh?? The rose is very prominent, luckily not as generic as a lot of other rose-based perfumes. Maybe it's the combination with the other notes that makes it more interesting? There is this dirty-ish musky note mixed with it, along with the sandalwood (I didn't immediately feel it i the beginning) and there is almost this note that reminds me of...ink? Very interesting! Something smoky in that mix too. I honestly don't see this as a unisex frag, unless it is for a man that likes womens fragrances or at least sweet ones. It is very long lasting (8-10+ hours) and in the end I can pretty much only feel the sandal wood- very gentle and fresh hint of it. Overall- very happy! Would be a great wear for fall-winter and women over 27-28years old.

I have just realised today that my love for Orientals with the hefty input of Oud is creating a problem. I have difficulty finding or naming some of my wardrobe wonders (Arabic being, alas, a language that escaped me) so the Mukhallats and Mubakhars and Khaltats and AL ouds give me no end of confusion. Anyway, this one from Rasasi is another great one. A prominent, animalic Oud well truly soiling a beautiful rose on top of a very creamy wood. The very underbelly comes in the form of Amber, I also detect a touch of Saffron but that just may be wishful thinking on my part feeding my Lukullian appetite for spice. It is very wearable and attracts a lot of compliments. Good longevity and sillage and a great compliment getter! Another great hit from Rasasi especially considering the low price.

I bought a sample vial thinking it would be dark bloody red velvet rose - of those with giant petals and strong deep aroma - mixed with the unknown by that time oud. I had hopes oud is similar to sandalwood or at least any wood :) KHALTAT AL OUDH RASASI smells to a center for dental care and health. Not to a certain medicine but that well-known smell that we all meet at the dentist. Absolutely no rose for me and on my skin. The perfume is cold, cool as a temperature, with no development. There is no sandalwood which is warm and sweet on me. No clean traces of musk. Only that specific smell without any curves and femininity. I would give the perfume to my bf but he definitely refuses to use it or just try it.

I've bought this fume about 1 month ago and i still don't know to describe it .... Sharp at the beginning, first 5-10 minutes, but after that it is amazing! Rose with oudh combined in such a beautiful, perfect way. First time i wear it i thought that it has poor sillage but i have been surprised when an unknown lady asked me what is that gorgeous perfume that i am wearing. I thought that i am the only one who smells it. And after that my male colleagues asked me the same. It is strange : comes and goes and pops out to surprise. You think it has vanished but it is there reminding you that you are beautiful and stilish. And i don't want to share it with nobody because of its beauty. I want it just for myself.

after reading some of the reviews below I'm beginning to wonder if they've reformulated this. Although its hard to believe they'd waste their time on a $12 scent. The bottle I have a.) was $10 b.) lasts ALL day long c.) smells fantastic. I've had over 400 designer and niche fragrances and this fragrance, quite frankly, is an indictment of every $60 department store abomination. if i had to keep only 10 bottles in my collection this would be one of them. As always, JUST MY OPINION.

All I will say is the minute I spray this fragrance 3 ladies in different places ask me what I was wearing, and one of them mention that if her boyfriend likes it to as much as she did, that will make him the perfect or the man of dreams, most of the reviews here are a bunch of experts wannabes!, trying to fit in this particular group of people, if you wear it an at least 2 different girls give you compliments, who gives a f*#k what this perfume experts opinions are right!!!

After the first spray I sniffed an edgy masculine scent, but after some seconds, maybe 1 minute it turned a smokey oud in a feminine way which I loved. I disagree that it is oldish, but oud can smells like church, its a deep woody, incensey note (love it or hate it note). Who loves oud they love because of that. Definitely not for girls but for the matured (and not old!) women. I might keep this bottle but I can swap some decants in anyone interested in, pm me (worldwide).

I decided to try a couple Rasasi fragrances out.decided to check this one out,was very cheap on beauty spin so looked up the notes,& reviews and tookthe chance and ordered.. it is a very nice scent,rose and the Oud is what I get from the opening.the rose in this is very smooth,not to overly sweet and it kind of reminiscent of the rose from Frederic Malle Une Rose.. I AM VERY SURPRISED AT THE QUALITY!!

The reviews had my expectations unrealistically high for a $10 fragrance -.- Starts out pretty decent with a "cool" green rose very similar to their Mukhallat Oudh Al Mubakhhar, then loses the rose in just 15 min and becomes a weak woody-musky scent with barely any oud, eventually turning into some kind of indistinctive musky-ambery-woody "mush"...

Great juice it reminds me de rose on declaration d'un soir by cartier for the price of 12 us dollars I feel bad foe rasasi lol I took a shower and I can still smell on my skin that tells about quality I think European and americans perfume makers can copy from rasasi quality

this smells like narciso edt with oud. this is totally white musk with roses and oud. the longer i wore it the creamier it got but not in a gourmand way. absolutely addicitive, year round & damn sexy.

For me it is similar to Andy tauer incens extreme or l`air du desert marocain i cant decide becous i had thous samples some time ago

Was eager to try this at Rasasi's shop along with Oudh Al Misk. I was told both were discontinued since almost a year ago.

Combined with "La Vie Est Belle" becomes the more unique scent!
