La Yuqawam Ambergris Showers

I was honestly not expecting this to be as good as it is. This without any doubt is many peoples signature scent. As a heads up the box is plastic now. This is why the fragrance has become cheaper. I bought both bottles from the same website. If Rasasi is listening, make the boxes cardboard and keep the design, this way more people can enjoy these fragrances Also remember the bottles aren't 100% filled up. If Armani can do it with their Aqua Di Gio Profumo (2015 era), Rasasi can too! Using other fragrances to describe this one. This is predominantly Ralph Lauren - Polo Green (1978) for the strong green aspect of it and the tobacco. However, imagine mixing in some Issey Miyake - Nuit D'issey (EDT) where the dark earthiness and the sweet and sour citrus that lingers throughout the entire wear of that. Finish that off with a subtle bit of Nuit D'issey Parfum for a cold and spicy fragrance that doesn't go into full blown shower gel territory. I usually don't like numbers but 55% polo green 30% nuit d'issey (edt) 15% nuit d'issey (parfum) - a faint dark blue spiciness mostly This is very unique, it's like walking at night time through a field with grass, there's a cold rain. You can smell the wet soil as your shoes step into the damp earth. There's a faint spiciness in the top notes and the sweet and sour tangerine that stays with you through the entire wear. I can only detect the wet tobacco when you smell it up close to where you sprayed it but if anything smell it in the air like everyone else. With a lot of imagination there's this almost, sports like scent to this. The violet leaf isn't gasoline like as everyone will quickly fahrenheit, it's not feminine type of violet leaf either like Roberto Cavalli Uomo (2016). If anything it supports the other notes like how it's used in Ganymede by Marc Antoine Barrois (Paris Corner - Celestial). Longevity - you'll get at least 8 hours out of this, it sticks to clothing for days. Perhaps the original La Yuqawam could be a bit longer lasting. I imagine by a negligible amount. Personally I like the scent of this more and if this was also a Tom Ford fragrance clone it would have sold better as most people probably don't know Memo Paris. This was so good I checked out their whole catalogue on here. Compared to the original La Yuqawam. This is so different that they could have been in entirely different collections, the leather isn't as strong in Ambergris Showers, there's such a small amount of the original La Yuqawam scent profile, which is understandable as they are both cloning entirely different fragrances. there's this faint irish spring soap like scent profile to this, I haven't put my finger on which exact one but it's there. Age wise this is more mature, at least 30 or 40. This was never designed to be a clubbing fragrance, this can be formal, for the office, worn by a powerful CEO or someone confident. This is something to wear going out at night with friends, for date night I'd probably wear something else unless the person likes more old school fragrances. A few people mentioned this is difficult to wear but I disagree, compared to the original La Yuqawam, Bentley For Men Intense or Caron Pour Un Homme (1934) they are much harder to wear.

I've had this fragrance for just slightly over a year now (got it back in August of 2017 from Notino... when it was still online in the US -- RIP). Since I got this fragrance, it hasn't changed one bit to my nose. From day one all the way until now (with multiple wearings and testings), the smell is exactly as I remember it on first impression. Which in of itself is odd, as the vast majority of fragrances I buy and try do change drastically to my nose over time (sometimes changing a lot from month to month). Some I hate at first then end up loving. Some I love, then end up hating. Either way, MOST fragrance I have change to my nose as time passes (likely based on my diet, environmental surroundings, other fragrances coloring the scent, my sense of smell maturing/changing etc etc). But still to this day Ambergris Showers smells exactly the same to my nose from the very first day I received it. What does it smell like to me? Well, that is a bit hard to explain. Best imagery I can come up with is if you were walking along the beach in a remote area (perhaps on an abandoned island -- Think Survivorman) and happened to stumble across an old shipwrecked wooden chest that has been soaking up the humid salty breeze of the ocean for decades. You open the chest and get an antiqued woody oceanic smell that is slightly salty. Ambergris Showers to me is a photo-realistic woody-oceanic smell without using the common salty accord (like D&G LB Eau Intense) or the dirty-ocean accord (think Bvlgari Aqua scents). It manages to capture an antiqued dry-salty woody smell that perfectly evokes the smell of the ocean in the air (like you are standing near an old wooden shipwreck on the beach that has been there for years). It's as if you found that old pirate treasure chest on the beach, took it home and smelled the wood after it has dried. Of all the fragrances I own (which is far too many) and of all the fragrances I have tested, this one is surprisingly unique yet still somehow familiar and totally wearable. It is an accord-style scent, so feel free to layer it to experience a completely different take on your favorite scents. I live about 15 minuets away from the beach, and grew up here all my life. The smell of the ocean is not foreign to me (wind direction for my city brings the ocean air right over us -- Mediterranean climate all year), and Ambergris Showers is bar none the best version of an oceanic smell I have encountered yet. Drift-wood plus salty-oceanic smell as if you were standing right on the beach getting sprayed with the oceans mist at sunset while standing near a bunch of drift-wood or are on a pier.

Fresh zingy opening, that will quickly go down towards a stunning bitter green iris-y/juniper-y/smok-y birch tar (aka "leather+mate"). The drydown will round a bit the edges with some styrax and probably a (small) hint of vanilla, without ever falling into the sweet territory thanks to a pinch of nutty/salty vetiver. Taken on its own, it's beautiful. Had I to compare it to Memo Irish Leather (MIL) I have to agree that this one is extremely close to MIL, that I am wearing on the other arm while I am writing this review and it follows perfectly the different stages of the original. If any differences, it might be the very early opening (basically, just the 5 first minutes - aka: who cares). Note that if you hated MIL, you will also hate that one. Also very close from Dunhill British Leather (with Dunhill BL being maybe a pinch more interesting than both the Memo and Rasasi). There is definitely no real ambergris in that one (as expected in a $50 fragrance), but I can definitely spot some saltiness in the base (vetiver? ambroxan?), and so can I in Memo IL. Fact is that both RLYAS and MIL are blends of aromachemicals that could have been marketed as salty/ambergris or as leather fragrances... ahhhh, the power of suggestion :) La Yuqawan Ambergris Showers is indeed very close to Memo Irish Leather, in structure, and I can hardly spot any differences in scent or quality, not even by sticking my nose on my skin. Difference is only the price (4 times less expensive)... what is it not to like? Memo Irish Leather is the only Memo fragrance I might have considered to buy if the pricing was a bit more democratic. Here Rasasi is offering niche quality for affordable prices and gives a lesson of marketing, demonstrating how luxury brands (Memo) make a premium by offering something that could be done for much less. To note that RLYAS's presentation (simple but very elegant looking wooden box with magnetic top and heavy glass bottle) looks great. Honestly, I would have felt an idiot to spend Memo's price tag given the nearly perfect copy made by Rasasi, just for a leather-covered cardboard box (what one is really paying for with Memo's premium). Highly recommended! Good job Rasasi! Fresh days, 30+ Edit: my nose was right to detect a "bitter green iris-y/juniper-y/smok-y birch tar", as it appears, after checking Rasasi's website, that there is iris listed in the base notes, missing on Fragrantica's pyramid. This iris in here reminded me of the dry/green iris note in Lutens Iris Silver Mist.

I am delighted to see a 2nd review for this wonderful creation. I blind bought Ambergris Showers and picked it up from the courier today. I decided to order based on the votes/the 1st review below from @TheFragrantPrince likening it to Memo’s Irish Leather. Thank you kind people for voting, and commenting! I tested Irish Leather a month or two ago and was really impressed with it but sillage and longevity were not that great – having in mind Memo’s price tag, I was wondering if there’s any point in saving up and buying it. Then I read about Ambergris Showers, searched for videos on Youtube (1. they were not that many; 2. they were not that enthusiastic) and... finally decided to order, come what may! This is one of my best blind buys ever! I am so thrilled to have found something as good, if not even better than Irish Leather. To me, Ambergris Showers has a bit more depth, a bit more character and definitely better sillage and longevity as compared to IL (I can still detect it on my skin after taking a hot shower). It’s hard for me to describe the scent itself, I lack the vocabulary for such an evocative and unusual (at least to my nose) fragrance – it’s dry, clean, bitter and herbal but in a very refined way – it just keeps a perfect balance – it’s ‘perfumey’ enough but still naturalistic. It fills my lungs with air – I attribute this to the galbanum. :) It has a bit of a non-sugary, flowery sweetness about it as well, I suspect the violet leaves have that softening quality. Is it a safe blind buy for ladies? Probably not – as it might not cater for the needs of those searching for a decidedly feminine, voluptuous type of fragrance. It’s perfect for me though – I find my peace and quiet in it. :) I guess it might be easier for gentlemen to wholeheartedly embrace it even though I would not say it’s necessarily better suited for men. ;) 10/10 in my book as well!

Rasasi's Ambergris Showers is a very nice take on adding fresh aspects to a leather base. Contrary to many reviewers, I can see why the scent is named Ambergris Showers. Many assume Ambergris = Ambroxan, but that is not true. Ambroxan alone does not give a full Ambergris smell, missing out on animalic aspects (I do have white Ambergris tincture from Ireland and the molecules Ambroxide, Cetalox etc). Real ambergris smells strange, and I am sure most people would even say it smells nothing like they have imagined. To me there's certainly a feeling of Ambergris in this fragrance, over a leather base. The real thing of course not in there! Guys, I mean, come on...Do you really think real ambergris is used in mass produced perfumes today? But yes, this is a leather fragrance above all. I've always found leather fragrances hard to wear on a daily basis, but this one you can easily wear in every occasion and climate. This weekend I wore it day and night full on. Daytime temps reached 28 degrees and sunlight was strong , where nights dropped to 15. It worked on both times, all occasions. Sightseeing, terrace sitting and then fancy casino scene and finally a techno/rave club. I think this beats the Tom Ford leathers hands down, and competes with Memo leather line. The performance was AMAZING. It goes 8 hours easy with 3-4 sprays (neck + under shirt) and even when you think it's not there, if you shake your shirt (like you do when it's hot), then you create a scent bubble all over again as if it's freshly sprayed. Very good addition to any collection especially on leather dept. this is one of the best out there. AND ONCE MORE, THE NAME OF THE FRAGRANCE IS JUST FINE. Price is quite OK for what you get, blind buy worthy if you are into leather notes with a fresh feeling.

Unbelievable Perfume. Rasasi with Ambergris Showers, did the come back to old good days of La Yuqwam No.1 aka La Yuqawam Pour Homme, the golden leaf one. A completelly different and versatile scent on the common beautifull leather base of LYPH. You may close your eyes and think that you're in the irish countryside, around ocean rocks, green fields and ozon breeze. You may think that you are in Mexico and you smell cactus, tequila, ocean sand, citrus and vanilla. You may think that you are in India and you smell cumin, sandalwood and talc powder, or you may think that you are in the future and you smell aluminium, silicon and wiring.....maybe is the best LY of all.! I blind bought it just to complete the LY triangle and I was expecting an average perfume, but Ambergis Showers is the hidden diamond. A different scent as other people mentioned, but in a very very classy and sophisticated way. A perfume that symbolize the man with fresh opinions and wise creativity. Longevity and silage are excactly at the same levels as LYPH, plus the leather base but in a green and extrovert way. In completing the LY collection: _ La Yuqawam Pour Homme, No.1, gold leaf, a marvelous classy, leathery masculine raspberry, gold perfume for special ocasassions during winter. 10/10 _ La Yuqawam Tobacco Blaze, No.2, Brown leaf, an outstanding classy and mysterious smoky hazelnut - apricot, beautifull blend for every day winter use. 9/10 _ La Yuqawam Ambergris Showers, No.3, whiteish leaf, an umbelievable fresh and leathery green, sophisticated masterpiece worth having for all year round use. 10/10

I finally got a chance to sample Memo Irish Leather and - yes - I can see it. Ambergris Showers is definitely in that ballpark. Ambergris Showers opens noticably different. It's more mineral, more ozone, more weird. Whereas Memo keeps their leather smelling very pretty and grounded, Rasasi lets the opening be strange. I think that there's some small elements of truth to those who compare it to Polo Green or to Irish Springs soap and I can even begin to wrap my head around the idea that other reviewers were reaching for when they suggested Fahrenheit and Ganymede, but it seems clear to me that Ambergris Showers is most similar to the Memo Irish Leather. After 20 minutes they smell very similar. After an hour it's difficult to detect any difference at all. I slightly prefer Memo Irish Leather in a vacuum, but when I look at the price difference it feels difficult to justify paying that much more. Irish Leather is excellent but Ambergris Showers is really quite good. As long as you dont mind a bit of weirdness in the opening then I would say this could be considered a hidden gem. Especially at this price point.

This is incredible. Amazing fragrance, composition, blend, sillage, quality, package, design, good price, good for workout, formal meetings, weddings, whatever the heck you want to do, this brightens up everything around the wearer. I smelled irish leather and found it off-putting, I don't know why. Maybe the price. I would dislike this on fragrantica just to discourage everyone else to buy it and get it later at a discount. The notes I get, from top to bottom: pine needles, mandarine, dried chamomile, some kind of tea and ambergris. I know there ain't no ambergis in this "ambergris showers" but the whole scent is like a more clean, unmoldy drydown of aventus. No sweet fruits, no rose, vanilla, oakmoss, n stuff.. this is love at first sniff for me. It smells rich, natural, big, controlled, strong and soothing. Thank you, please don't reformulate, please keep the price low and everything will be ok, mr. Rasasi. You healed something deep down in my heart. Congratulations.

So, I actually love both this and La Yuqawam Homme as far as the scent is concerned. However, Im bewildered as to the strong performance that the majority of people are claiming both of these fragrances have. Ive ordered two different batches of Homme ('22 and '24) and a single bottle of A. Showers('23); none of the three bottles have what I would call 'strong' sillage/projection. Longevity may be decent, but as a skin scent after the first 30 mins to an hour. Am I missing something here? I'm also disappointed that these are being marketed as an EDP when my 2022 Homme box states that it is comprised of 90% alcohol – clearly making it an EDT concentration. Apparently Rasasi stopped listing that fact, late 2023. The newer ones just list 'alcohol' without the ratio. Edit 4-23-25: Wore this today. Performance really is pretty bad. Sprayed 12 times, projection is extremely moderate. Would love to experience a 'vintage' batch. Has Rasasi totally neutered this line?

For many of us the art of collecting and enjoying fragrances is deeply personal. At some point we might be consumed in finding our grail or signature fragrance. Fortunately for the fragrance community there are so many wonderful choices that there is no need to settle on just one. I want to share my experience with the La Yuqawam line of fragrances from Rasai. I own 3 of them: LY Homme, Tobacco Blaze and Ambergris Showers. These 3 fragrances are among my favorites. The dominant leather, woody, smoky citrus accords are so comforting. Please remember that what is calming and comforting for one person might be vile for another. With Rasasi, you are getting niche level quality and craftsmanship for very reasonable prices. The sillage and longevity is excellent and I just love the drydown for these 3 highly recommended fragrances from the La Yuqawam line. LY was my gateway to Arabian fragrances and I have never looked back. Enjoy!

An underrated gem from the house of Rasasi from their La Yuqawam line, this is Ambergris Shower. This beauty opens up with a mixture of pink pepper, juniper berry ambroxan, and black leather. I get a very spicy, salty natural clean black leather right from the get-go. Slowly the spiciness fades away, transmuting the leather behind. The drydown feels as if I'm sitting inside an expensive black car with a black leather interior that has been cleaned and polished professionally. There is the DNA of the leather from the house of Memo, especially from Irish leather and Italian leather from my experience. And I'm saying this, this juice is not for the faint of hearts. This is bold, high quality, and smells camphorous at times. It will be easy for anyone to misinterpret this composition. This stuff is art! This is an absolute 10/10 in my book, and my book is tiny after so many years.

Bomb of masculine freshness. Opens mostly with sage, leather and ambergris and a hint of that tangerine. Theres a deep green note to it thag may be the violet in the opening. In the dry down its a fresh, earthy yet salty scent. Gonna credit that to the mate, vetiver and ambergris. Its fresh all throughout, but its a somewhat "heavy" freshness, because most of the scent is carried by the leather, allowing it to survive perfectly fine if hot or cold weather. A true all seasons fragrance. There's almost no sweetness in this, so if you only like sweet YMMV. However if you don't mind that, there's almost no chance you'd dislike it. Maybe regift, but this juice is awesome.

I love this stuff. The first time I sprayed it in the air the opening reminded me of a salty shampoo called BIG, which is made by Lush Cosmetics. On my skin I get an aquatic, slightly leathery ambroxan with a nice clean, herbal vetiver in the drydown. Longevity, as with this entire line, is very good. On clothes this fragrance will last for days. The presentation is nice. I like the wooden box it comes in and the bottle has a nice shape. It feels like you are getting a lot for the price you pay. This is definitely masculine. I think it can be worn year-round, but may not be totally office-friendly, due to its large sillage.

Try not to think about the name of this AQUATIC LEATHER scent...but that never works actually, so think about this instead: Imagine sailing off the coast of Ireland when it's overcast, and a burst of cold citrus sprays you in the choppy waves. Danny-boy, your mate, is wearing a black leather jacket covered in raindrops while his tangerine hair curls out from under a black mariner's toque. The sun makes an appearance just in time to set in shades of violet... Despite its unfortunate name, this scent is a fantasy filmed in rain and shades of grey and green. Unique and avant-garde scent imo.

strange - to my nose i would rate dominant notes on this one in reverse order: mate, leather, violet leaves. mate is the most prominent one and it gives the whole scent the dry, woody, warm vibe, like salty pencil shavings. it is beautifully supported by violet leaves and leather. the overall mood AS induces on me is like a calm sunny day in the autumn woods: the foliage has almost dropped off but the air is crisp and warm. this fragrance is very unusual and distinct, one definitely stands out wearing this. good performance. still, i think the price is a little bit too much.

I feel like Im only going to add to the confusion about this scent, but the opening scent - which I had expected to be the "wet earth, wet stone" smell that others had mentioned - for me it felt more like a metallic scent. Or maybe vaguely like the mineral spirits that are used in a machine shop parts washer. But I feel like the scent rewards your patience. It shifts toward something grassier, mossier, and green. And then it goes into leather. I think I might like it. Time will tell. Edit: falling in love with it. So good.

This is one of my best discoveries in a while. It's better than Irish Leather and I love Irish Leather. It has quickly become one of my favorites in the collection. The tangerine and violet opens almost spicy. I can't say why exactly but that beautiful tangerine persists throughout the long sillage unlike any citrus I've smelled. The leather is faint for me and blends into an accord with the sage that makes it even more herbaceous. This is a beast and if it's on your clothes and you don't want it to be then good luck.

Best of the series, IMHO. You have to be into leather notes to enjoy it, but it's super unique and highly enjoyable for those that are. I haven't tried Irish Leather, but now I probably should. I have sampled Italian Leather and Sicilian Leather and Ambergris Showers is a nice blend of the two. Projection and longevity are solid, and this is coming from someone who lives in a drier climate. Probably, 7.5/10.

OOooooooOOOoooOOooOOoOoOoooooo Everything in this line is a pure delight. I wasn't expecting this one to be so rich and lofty. I get a lot of what makes Narciso Rodriquez for HIM so delightfully good. That awesome ozone that is in it. Captivating. Somehow this comes out creamy. Really fantastic. Love it. Longevity 9/10 Projection 8/10 Sillage 9/10 Scent 9/10 Overall 9.6/10

The opening reminds me of Cartier Declaration essence, and in the development I detect traces of Yang, by Jacques Fath, but darker; the base reminds me of Lalique Encre Noire Sport, with a slightly ashy green leather... What a magnificent fragrance... Longevity: all day long. Sillage: I often get compliments at the end of the day, if you know what I mean.

This is beautiful in a whole new level, it is very different. @Btd069 described it perfectly! I also find a small “cannabis/oregano” note making it smell soothing, it’s not overpowering or disturbing to me. It has a small similarity to Solitaire by Al Haramain. I love it. Am a female btw , and I say this is definitely unisex.

This is what the color gray smells like; earthy and cold, smells a bit like petrichor, the wet soil and damp air after a long rain.. this fragrance is eerie and moody, but also comforting.. like sitting in a dim room, waiting for the storm to pass

It is nice, but not unique at all. Pretty much same scent as Irish leather and brivido della caccia, out of these 3 argos gives best performance. But considering the price and performance it is worthy of a spot in your collection

Such an incredible fragrance: A very fresh, herbal realistic leather with a light touch of sweet/citric orange. Very well balanced. I see it as a very versatile fragrance, not casual, but good for meetings, office and going out.

I thought La Yuqawam was special for the price range. Wow. This is an absolute banger. Violet, tea, citrus and leather. Fantastic juice for $60 aud. Masculine, long lasting, for fall to early spring. Wonderful.

Solid, can be had for cheap. Gives off an ozonic/aquatic fresh vibe to the prominent leather and some woods. Very impressive, especially considering the price. I enjoy this one more than I thought I would.

I’m surprised this isn’t more popular. It’s a very accurate dupe of Irish Leather. Performs just as well and smells just as quality.

Well I thought I'd reviewed this one when it came out as a keen (or foolish?) blind buy netted me this catch. My opinion has changed somewhat, I still like this perfume but not as much as I did when it first landed on my doorstep and for much the same reasons as tobacco blaze, although that was immediately apparent. This is a kind of citrus opening, but it's not especially bright, just sort of weird, sharp, bitterness from grapefruit. The synthetic (and I do mean unnatural) smell of this perfume kinda alludes to the ethereal, fixative nature of ambergris but it doesn't smell anything like any ambergris I've ever come across. The main body is a ultra dry leather accord which is heavy on the mate, I can also see some of the greenness, the dry, papery smell of violet leaf and perhaps even the clary sage listed here? Ambergris showers does smell modern and masculine and Immediately quite a lot like Irish leather from Memo but maybe a touch smokier and more arid? It also reminds me of Molton Brown's Russian leather but without the smoothness and 'real' leather aspect. Instead this has a less vibrant and sweet leather accord which is stale and ashy, a bit like tobacco blaze but decidedly easier to tolerate. I kinda bought this to complete the set really, not always the greatest motivation and with a view to scaling down my collection, this might be getting cut? Wearing it today is enjoyable but at a crucial time in evaluating what I really need in my collection, I don't think any La Yuqawam's are going to make the grade.

This is a phenomenal fragrance if it weren't for one fatal flaw. I didn't know what to expect as I never smelled Memo's Irish Leather so I went in with an open mind and boy was it good. Aromatic fresh green leather and it smells awesome, lasts a good while too. My one gripe with it is as follows ... in the late dry down (4+ hours in) I get this really obnoxious sour/salty note that I can't shake off. You know when you pass out somewhere and you sleep with your mouth open? How there might be a bit of saliva dribbling from your mouth? And that smell at the corner of your face when you finally wake up? That's what I'm getting. And it's baffling to me as there's no hint of it at all in the first few hours then it creeps up on me all of a sudden and kinda ruins it for me. Maybe it's just my skin chemistry, but it's very offputting and making me not want to reach for it anymore. Interested to try Irish Leather now that I know I like how this smells. Perhaps it doesn't have that sour undertone as it dries.

To me, this is a suit and tie kind of fragrance. Proper, dry, mysterious and absolutely tenacious. Update: the craziest thing just happened. I sprayed about 5-6 times on me and my clothes in the morning before my flights, and about 6 hours in during my 2nd flight, a person seated behind me nudged my shoulder and told me that I smelled really nice. I thanked him and told him the name of the perfume. The guy looked familiar but I could not quite put my finger on it. Later on a flight attendant told me the same thing. Then he said initially he thought it was the guy sitting behind me smelling so nice because he was famous! It turned out that he was one of judges on the show Ink Master! I returned back to my seat and had to hold in my excitement. Before we deplaned, the guy and I chatted a bit more about perfumes and it turned out he was also very into perfumery himself. It was such a lovely conversation as I could nerd out about perfumes to someone who also gets it. Perfumes bring people together lol

This is one of those definitely try before you buy fragrances. Many different angles on this fragrance has been talked about. It really depends on your chemistry and ph balance which way it leans for you. I'm wearing this now , it's 75° on the milder side and it smells great. I get the citrus, aquatic and wood. Most certainly with this series your going to get that smokey animalic leather smell. It's well blended and I'm not having the horror stories most have had or are having with this fragrance. When I 1st bought it and smelled it I hated it. I decided I was just going to stink today, and I am not offensive but smell rather great. So it's definitely one that performs to you personally. I’m pretty new to fragrances but this is exactly the scent profile I’ve been craving and I blind bought this solely based on its praise and notes . So far the scent is exactly what I expected it to be and I can’t get enough of it really. However it appears to lack longevity as it is right now, I do get occasional reminders of its presence through half of the day from applying it in a summer morning but it doesn’t noticeably survive past lunch. I’m tempted to buy a second bottle cause I don’t think I’m strong enough to not use the one I have right now and let it macerate. I got it for around 75€ but found it cheaper after buying it like it always happens. I would gladly make it a signature sent if only it lasted a few hours longer. But other than that this is just mfing amazing fragrance.

Top notes come across orange zesty shower fresh that interwinds with the leather vetiver base coming off unique and very much inline with the other LaYuqawams homme and Tobacco blaze. Masterpieces. Now for the savage part as I only got that reaction from the first application from my bottle, very bizzar as all i get now is a orangy jaffa cake zesty mess mixed with leather that lasts minutes before completeley dying down into a leather skin scent. Unsure if it is just bad skin chemistry but that first spray was what i was expecting from this, maybe my bottle is just a bad batch (Aug 2016) fake (was bought from official eBay Rasasi Uk) or a reformulated mess as I've heard Rasasi Armaf etc are now following suit to western perfumery by watering down their fragrances and ruining them.

I found a test strip of this from four days ago on my nightstand that was STILL strong, and I found the dry down to be very memorable. After smelling the test strip all morning I made the decision to purchase this at my local fragrance shop. It is aquatic and fresh yet leathery, woodsy, and warm. It reminds me of a calming scene sitting along a stream near a pungent forest or garden while wearing a leather jacket. Update: After having for a couple of months there are certain notes that I don't love as much as when I first got it. The profile is still good but instead of an interesting aromatic complexity, it feels "murky" or "muddy". Still interesting and I will keep it, but more of a backup fragrance instead of something I would wear routinely.

First Ambergris scent for me. It smells a bit like an unfinished basement. An earthy, dirt, scent. Good thing I like that kind of thing. I like how it starts to smell the longer it is worn, and I like it even more when mixed with other fragrances. Overall, not my favorite thing, but glad I own it. I really don't dig "clean" smells, but this has a fresh nature to it and it may be my equivalent of something like a Blue fragrance. Usually that is Santal 33 for me, but this could hold a new spot in that position. Interested to see if I like other ambergris scents in the future! Update: This is a perfect rainy day scent. It's a springtime masterpiece. It is a performance BEAST. Truly a winner.

Solid clone of Irish Leather. I tested British leather & Irish Leather & decided I liked the scent profile, so I blind bought Ambergris Showers for Fiddy bux based on reviews. Less maté in the mid & more woody fuzz. Lots of ambroxan in the drydown so while it is fresh off my skin, it can be tedious & headache inducing off of clothes after 6++ hours. Reminds me of a Sephora or Macy's men's fragrance counter. Ambroxan showers lol. Great for cool &/or moist spring and summer days. Will be interested to see how it does on some crisp dry fall days, too. Fiddy well spent but it is a big step down from Memo quality. Seems to wear nicer than the dunhill clone, so priced appropriately IMO.

The mate in this, as well as in Memo Irish Leather, is up front. It reminds me of no. 2 pencil wood and graphite. Somewhat fresh. Different, but not as leather-heavy as its counterpart. I like AS but I have pure ambergris and see absolutely no similarities between this frag and ambergris. There is no ambergris in this. If there is ambroxan in this it's not noticeable (and I also have pure ambroxan). Again, it is good. I like it.

A very strange eco-cleaner smell. Leather, cleaning products. Not your usual cleaning chemicals though, more like something you can't stop smelling, being both enticing and overwhelming. Can easily give you a headache. Projection & longevity are huge. Not for everybody. Interesting, nonetheless. 8.5/10

This is basically a blue-leather fragrance. Not for everyone, but it definitely has its place. Zero sweetness, unlike La Yuqawam pour homme which balances leather with fruity notes. You get fresh, salty, woody leather and a sense of bitterness which is perhaps the mate note.

One of the most unique things I've ever smelled and in my collection. Reminds me of a rainy forest, flowers, green, purple, blue and the smell of wet wood. Very interesting scent, I don't wear it often but when I do I'm always surprised by it again. Score: 3.5/5

It was a blind buy based on reviews and “reminds me of”. If you like Irish Leather this is a safe blind buy. To me it’s a dupe of Irish Leather. I like mate. I pick up on the green way more than the leather. I think this could be excellent for layering.

I like this fragrance. It smells similar to Memo Irish leather green leathery a bit woody and a bit powdery. Performance is really good, lasts forever on clothes. I got it for around 60 USD so i consider it a very good value. 24-DEC-2023

A simplified expression of Memo Irish Leather.

No doubt the house of Rasasi is one I have love and I don't mince words about it in my reviews, and the LaYuqawam 'leafy bottle' lineup is definitely worth some shout, or maybe even some hype, such as La Quayam Pour homme and Tobacco blaze. Unfortunately I can't quite say the same about Ambergris. Now don't get me wrong, it is not a bad fragrance at all. It was just underwhelming for me. Thankfully I didn't blind buy a full bottle on this one. Main reason I feel underwhelmed is because it smells just like a cheaper (but lovely) fragrance that I own - Autobiography Rich Leather!! So similar except the ever so slightly more intensity in Rasasi's version. They both smell weird but good at the same time - Kinda hard to describe. It's one of those you spray on yourself and you think "meh", but then your wife and kids go, "hmmm, that smells nice". Then you start doubting your olfactory prowess afterward. Well, as I already have RL by Autobiography, I can most definitely excuse Ambergris. To my friends out there wondering if to pick one up, I'd say try before you buy. If you do eventually try out Rich Leather AutoB on my recommendation here, please drop a comment or message me privately to let me know what you think about the similarity to Ras' Ambergris.
