La Yuqawam Tobacco Blaze

First impressions (to be updated later on): to my nose, it start with a blast of citrus and orange blossom. Shortly after, a strong peach note (more so than apricot) will appear, still supported by a fresh note, as well as a pinch of vanilla. In the base, the patchouli and soft creamy woods will show-up, and will, in tandem with the peach, give an overall impression of soft/lipstick-y suede. Only in the late drydown will a hint of darker leather/ash-y tobacco show up, but don't expect AdP Leather or Fahrenheit here, since "soft and frutiy" is the anthem. Also: no oud to my nose. Projection seems soft on my skin (did I just catch covid, or are the majority of the reviews exaggerated? We'll see with time...). That said, longevity is great. Overall the performance is as expected for an EDP. It will never go towards the gourmand side, but it's definitely a unisex suede-ish fruit-forward fragrance (to my nose). Reminds me vaguely of Guerlain Ambre Eternel (feminine), more so than Cuir Intense (unisex leaning masculine). As I said, it's just a first impression review (blind bought). It's a like but not love, good but not great to my nose, and a bit synthetic smelling and too 2-dimensional for my tastes. I can see how it might do the job for some (probably younger crowds), but even if I like it, it's far from being a masterpiece, and a big step lower compared to the achievement of LY Ambergris Showers (well worth it!). A cozy/soft fragrance that is just ok/good in my book, but that might not be enough to make the cut on Spring cleaning day, and will for sure not leave life-long memories to whom is around you (just clarifying for whom uses fragrances for that purpose). For around $50, I was stunned by Ambergris Showers, but with this one at a similar price, it's just an ok deal imo. Unisex, mild evenings and colder days, 20-40yo. Edit: just checked Rasasi's website, and discovered that my perception just makes sense. The accurate pyramid is: Top: Bergamot, Peach, Orange Flower Middle: Amber, Cedar Base: Amber, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Leather, Oud Sorry guys, but there's no apricot nor violet to be smelt in that fragrance!

Oud, leather, powdery...okay, but to me this comes-across as the fragrant-smelling ash of a fine cigar (tobacco) that was dipped in apricot brandy and rolled in spices, with violet and perhaps some other floral notes chirping in the background. As this fragrance progresses, I sense a dirty-dried straw/hay accord although the aforementioned tobacco ash continues to smolder softly, and under control, in the background. I don't know much about coumarin, but I will assume the interplay of courmarin and some other notes give this fragrance its body, which really is Tobacco Blaze (aka Cigar on Fire). While this is not one of my favorite scents...it is damn interesting, and how Rasasi made oud, leather, et al., smell like lighted tobacco is genius. The drydown strikes a nondescript semi-dark/earthy accord; patchouli, oud, leather, woods and amber? Perhaps, but my nose cannot separate the notes...plus, that ashy accord--along with this fragrance quickly becoming a skin-scent at drydown--makes things a bit difficult on the olfactory senses. Longevity is excellent (9-10 hours) and it projects moderately for 4-hours before transitioning to a skin-scent. Overall, I feel that Tobacco Blaze can be a somewhat polarizing fragrance; some will love it and some will dislike it. Offhand, I really like Tobacco Blaze...it is well-blended and very interesting. I don't know if I'll come to love it, but I will update my review accordingly. The presentation is fantastic! Tobacco Blaze comes packaged in a handsome black ceramic bottle and an excellent magnetized faux wooden-box. Very interesting and diverse reviews on this fragrance, for sure. 2018 Update: Tobacco Blaze is more of my most favorite daring scents of all time. I love this one!!!!!

Its been almost a year since i am using it. well i don't have appropriate words to explain it....... i have 50 plus niche perfumes in my collection but if i have to choose only one of them to the rest of my life i will definitely choose this one. It smells highly expensive. Now when ever i test any new niche perfume i have this one as the benchmark in my mind. Comparing this to "Tom ford Tuscun leather", considering 80$ for 75 bottle of Tobacco blaze vs 250$ for 50 ml TF tuscun leather it is far better in terms of quality and specially price. Also wearing TF is some times uncomfortable specially for people with sensitive nose but for Tobacco blaze you will never find this problem. Longevity is amazing around 7-8 hours on skin and 12 to 18 hours on clothes even in summer (although it is a winter frag). Projection and sillage is also unbeatable. people around me notice it and ask for its name and price(because it smells expensive). Perfectly suits to mature person. Longevity: 9/10 Sillage: 9/10 Fragrance: 10/10 Price: i can't rate it's current price (80$) because it's worth more than 500$ to me Highly recommended

This was my signature fragrance this winter in Lima, Perú. Buying decants for months from different niche perfume houses and also arabian clones and local perfume houses looking for something unique and special with a retro touch. Also i wanted it to be potent and relatively cheap so i was looking for a lot of things in a single fragrance. I must say this did the job. I compare it with master pieces of perfumery. It's sweet, smokey, strong and memorable, yet not cloying. It reminds me of something my uncle used tu wear back in the 90's but in the most refined and "niche quality" way. The base of this composition is completely addicting for me. I don't know what molecule they are using but it stays with me for days and it's absolutely beautiful. I have so mucho more to say about this beauty but it's been enough. It's very particular so get a decant first. If you get it it's worth every penny even at 80 - 90 bks BRAVO RASASI!! (don't get la yuqawamm pour homme, get this one instead) Smell 9/10 Uniqueness 10/10 Projection 10/10 Longevity 10/10 Versatility 6/10 Price 7/10

Hands down this is one of my best kept secrets. Beast mode and has super sillage. I would not say this is like aventus or anything like it but it possesses the same smokiness. Furthermore instead of aventus pineapple it's some type of fruit that is heaven when paired with the smoke. I'm taking a peach or some type of subtle apricot blend. This is where the blaze comes in this fruit and smoke duo last till the fragrance dies off. If there is oud its barley noticeable. To me there is no oud just pure fruit, smoke and blaze. This is fresh, nothing like any other tobacco scent I have smelled and definitely far from Tom fords tobacco vanille. This is a fresh fruity smoky scent PERIOD. I'm on my 3rd bottle this is good stuff. All year round scent. More smokey in the winter and fruity in warmer weather. I get no leather if your looking for leather get the homme version. Btw some of the reveiws seem off here I think people are getting this mixed up with la yuqawam homme this review is for tobacco blaze.

A Sunset on Scorched Sand, Smouldering Tobacco & an Upscale Hookah Bar... I came back to this one after awhile, and wow it smells really good now. I agree with AstralMatrix below that this definitely benefits from aging/maceration/dark storage ( a year or more). It's lost some acridness & grassiness, and gained an ambery sweetness, and increased depth, along with increased clean facets from neroli that are faintly citrus in the opening. There's a fine line between smelling like an upscale hookah-bar and smelling like an ashtray, but this definitely falls in the former now. There's an illusion of tobacco here (I know I'm stating the obvious), but it's a mix of scorched sand, smouldering tobacco, fruity dried-tobacco tin, and powdery clean shisha smoke. I find this unisex but leaning masculine, and anyone not afraid of a little ashy-ness in a tobacco scent might like this. The performance has settled but a light touch is still required. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

This is very nice and significantly different from most of the department store and cheapie fragrances I own. And though this is different, I don't really find any objectionable or difficult to tolerate notes in it, like you might find in a "niche" fragrance. But as far as wearing something different than the generic shower gel scents and blue and citrus or whatever, this is "niche". Also, I don't care to keep boxes, but the wooden and magnetic boxes that these come in are the only ones that I've kept. The packaging presentation for the Rasasi La Yuqawaam line is probably better than any other fragrances I've bought. However, I would have preferred it if they had made the volume of the juice larger, or made the bottles more impressive, instead of shipping it in very fancy boxes. In fact, these bottles don't even come 100% full, which is absolutely stupid.

I quit smoking some months ago and I don't think this smells like smoke AT ALL! Since quitting, the smell of cigarettes makes me sick to my stomach, but THIS... this is amazing! The opening reminds me of Atelier Silver Iris, but darker, more leathery. Same warm, resinous iris, however... There is more of a tobacco-like scent underneath the top notes, but it takes some searching to find those. I think it's unfortunate that so many others get cigarette smoke from this. That's going to make me re-think wearing this, but I really do love the smell, myself. Also, as crazy as it sounds, Orchid Prairie, with its licorice note, almost smells more masculine to me than this. I had to go back to the bottles to make sure I had sprayed the right one!

I like this fragrance a lot. It is extremely intense and it's definitely a sillage fragrance, where you're intended to enjoy its cloud rather than sniffing the skin where you sprayed it. It smells harsh close up!! But enjoyed properly, it's a beautiful blend of apricot and saffron on a bed of very dark, warm, cosy woods with an unmistakable hint of dry ash or smoke. I have worn it on a warm evening where it's very comforting, but I think it will come into its own in the winter. EDIT: now wearing this on a hot Aussie Summer evening and it's beautiful. Like distant cigar smoke blowing through a grove of orange and nectarine trees at sundown. It smells fresh and uplifting - loving this experience!

This is what I call a “night in” fragrance. Very spicy, deep, heavy leather, masculine, and a dry down that is so so cozy — perfect for cuddling with a special someone under a blanket in front of a fireplace. This fragrance just exudes warmth, to me, and lasts forever. I’d save it exclusively for the very coldest days of the year. One thing to note is that you don’t get any of that Tobacco Vanille style sweet tobacco you think the name might imply. You kinda get some smoky, dry, sharp cigarette tobacco in the opening (which I think is what turns a lot of people off of this one), but once that tones down, you get an incredibly well balanced spicy leather fragrance for a major bargain.

Many fragrances that have tobacco displayed as a note, don't give me a tobacco vibe... maybe it's "fantasy tobacco", but no cigarette tobacco. This one instead, although it doesn't have the tobacco note mentioned, has more tobacco than many other fragrances with tobacco notes. It's smells like dry tobacco with ash, a burnt cigarette, tobacco smoke and so on... For me, it's the most realistic smell of tobacco (or cigarette) in a fragrance. It has more tobacco (and a realistic tobacco) than the holy grail Pure Havane! When I wear this, my wife tells me that I smell like I have just smoked a cigarette. No other tobacco fragrance brings me this compliment.

Easily one of my most FAVOURITE men's fragrances and certainly one of the top picks from the house of Rasassi. I can't put in words how nice this fragrance is. There's something so unique and magical about it that it would take you trying it yourself to see what the hype is about. It has a conundrum though - it is very sweet yet so masculine. How could Rasassi pull that off? 😱 Well, they did with this one. Performance is great too, especially on clothing. It settles on clothing in such a pleasant way. I feel rich and delicate wearing this. Again, another top scorer from one of my most beloved houses - Tobacco Blaze. 10/10 overall!

Imagine Rasasi Shuhrah without the fresh note, but instead a light smoky and mature note. It's a classy perfume but without any common spots with Rasasi La Yukawam pour home. Same series but different smell, sillage and longevity. Definitely La Yukawam pour homme is the winner regarding longevity. Whilst LYPH lasts over 12 hours, Tobacco Blaze is up to 7 hours. For those who don't know the smell of Shuhrah the exact description for Tobacco Blaze to me is this. Imagine someone who smoke electronic cigarette, blowing a smoke - cloud with nicotine and cookies - hazelnut - apricot flavour! Safe blind buy for mature men.

This is a very daring fragrance. Full of contradictions and innovative in my opinion "if it is not already a clone of a perfume that I dont know". Not for everyone and a love it or hate it for sure. A beautiful but risky fragrance, you might recieve complements or very negative reactions. Best for cold weather and will be recived more positivity by middle east people. It is fruity oriental floral and spicy with heavy dose of ashy leather/oud accord that will leave you smell like an ash trey the hole day. Not really a tobbaco note but cigarettes ashes. Powerful performance and longevity.

This perfume reminds me of an inexpensive Encre Noir by Lalique of which I get a lot of vetiver. Though this doesnt has the note but overall its nothing like the former off course. Its dark, incense and can be worn anytime but could be rocked more into the party nights, weddings especially out in the lawns. I got this one by mistake cos had got it through a friend who was travelling from the UK. I had asked for a Pour Homme instead but nevertheless i like this too. Already have a TFTL so can wait a little till i get the LYPH

I honestly wasn't expecting much, but this fragrance honestly surprised me with it's quality. This is my type of profile, I love smoky, slightly sweet fragrances. I don't think this smells like an ash tray, but it's definitely smoky (that is the name after all), but the apricot and saffron add a nice compliment. Performance seems decent, projection is a bit subdued but I think that's best with this type of profile. You get a nice scent bubble without overwhelming a room. It's a winner in my book and likely a pick up.

Tobacco Blaze is a magnificent, intense, and acrid scent with tobacco accords, leather notes, and plenty of saffron and apricot... But it's also cozy and full of personality. It wraps itself around you like a cocoon and follows you wherever you go. A true niche scent. Extremely masculine, with outstanding durability and projection. It fills a room, so it's probably not a good office scent unless you only use one spray. The overall impression is lovely, though it can be a little too loud, so go easy on the trigger.

today was my first day to wear this master piece and i am really impressed. a bit cold weather and morning it really got attention. first impression was if we say 75% sweetness and 25% smokyness of tobacco which later dried down to 50% tobacco and 50% sweetness. by sweetness it didnt mean some floral or fruitiness(i am not fan of those) imagine it like if you pour some sugar on burning coil and very initial smell you get).and then blend of tobacco with small amount made it standout.

The notes listed aren't lying. The name is a misnomer. There's no tobacco here. Not sure what the other people are smelling. Update - January 2018 Still no tobacco. Yet there continue to be new reviews speaking of the tobacco which IS NOT PRESENT in this fragrance. That's the power of suggestion. The name told them tobacco and they'll imagine the tobacco as a result. It's not there. This scent did grow on me. I've upgraded my "like" to "love", but there's still no tobacco.

When it dries down it smells like cheap hotels where smoking is allowed inside, still smells nice and unique but the first ten minutes are the best. Also it is by all definition a beast mode fragrance, so be careful on the trigger, for me 4 sprays max. Also it does not smell full and complete on skin, so only apply it on clothes away from you nose because it WILL choke you. Beautiful fragrance. Love the use of apricot to tone down the leather and oud to make it very wearable and pleasing. There is no tobacco, but the blend of the above gives it a fruity tobacco leaf vibe. Unfortunately this fragrance does get overlooked because of the hype of La Yuqawam Homme, whilst not being quite that level, it’s still an extremely well blended and sophisticated fragrance. Just added to my collection!

It's Good heavy solid Tobbaco scent! Don't see the comparison with surah or others really! That's why equal 👎🏾is there as well.. Not a complex Tobbaco yet might not everyone's cup of tea But if you like tobacco noted perfume definitely wort to try if you got one. Nowadays it's hard to get one even price tag seems higher than other perfum from rasasi brand.. Smell - 7/10 (Tobbaco)

Pleasant masculine leather tobacco scent, well rounded with floral notes. Would not call it super unique (it kind of is), but it is nice and is definitely a great addition to my portfolio of scents that adds diversity, if u already have many popular perfumes. Wear it to project a macho type of a character, sillage and longevity are on a stronger side. One of my best blind buys.

Bloody hell this stuff is good! As someone who likes tobacco/smoky fragrances this is right up my street. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this a blind buy though! Given there is no tobacco noted listed, this has a very ashy cigarette like aroma which lingers in the background. Perfectly balanced with fruity top notes and light florals. Gorgeous sent and well worth the money!

This is a true gem. Absolutely beautiful leather with freshness and refinement. Surprisingly wearable by day due to the fresh apricot and neroli notes, but much more suited for fall/winter. I also like the coumarin, it rounds up everything quite nicely. High quality juice. Jasmine Wisp is absolutely irresistible too.

It's been almost 24 hours since I sprayed this on and it's still going. The apricot florals and spices are very pronounced in this gem. I have had my decant for over 2 years so I guess this one performs better with time. It's a one of a kind scent for sure and 100% unisex as it's not too much of a a dark scent.

This is one of the most potent juices I have smelt and used. I can smell it on skin and on clothes even days after usage. Projection isn't absolutely loud but it's sufficient, it's my favorite leather scent and hands down one of the strongest scents I own. I'm buying back up bottles because it's fire 🔥

SOTD If you like this category of scent, you will like it. The ash is smoky and leathery inside the bottle. I can't stop smelling my skin; the scent reminds me of when I was a cigarette smoker. Don't get me wrong; it's ashy but not dirty. To me, it's a must-have.

take some sugar and sprinkle onto some burning tobacco(Hokkah we call it). and you will get sweetness of sugar with blend of tobacco smokiness. i think it is difficult to find such combinations (specially in EU). Always complimented by my friends and colleges.

Love, love, love this fragrance. The sweet almost candy like opening intertwined with woody + tobacco dry down is mesmerizing. I think safron plays a distinct role here, otherwise this fragrance would be quite ordinary. Everything else is nicely blended here.

I remember the first time I sprayed this, I couldn’t stop sniffing my wrist. It was love at first sniff. The dry down is beautiful. Put simply, this is art. It’s in my top 3 now. Not everyone can pull it off so you might want to test it first. 10/10.

Smells exactly like someone’s wearing a heavy sweet perfume standing beside a burning tire. The best thing about this is longevity & performance The worst that; burnt tire note is the note that lasts after all fade away.

I became quite obsessed with it, it's a non-overwhelming leather ambery fragrance which is weird to have, it's even a bit fresh somehow. It's more versatile than I thought really.

For asain people small like kulfi But this my opinion Very potent scent and misterious. Great work rasaai. Lond lasting only for winter but hard nose can use in sammer like me.

Smells like someone had been smoking cigarettes next to a bowl of fresh cut apricots. Smells middle eastern for sure. Very well blended and unique fragrance.

i like the opening but the dry down smells like burnt tyre they got the tobacco note in a wrong way, i guess :-)

This is a great fragrance for men that just don't give a shit.

I took a huge punt on Tobacco blaze considering it's fairly pricey but still cheap for the quality compared to say...Tom Ford. Oh while we are on the subject I decided to get this Yuqawam as apposed to the much talked about on here Tuscan Leather one, because I wanted to be surprised by the smell and despite reading reviews beforehand, Tobacco Blaze has certainly done that! I honestly can't say I'm convinced by this yet but what it has delivered is a interesting but not totally unique experience. The opening is a dark, ashy sort of affair which is dry and unpleasant like a burnt tobacco. Lingering only a molecule or two underneath this vail of ash is a poofy, lighthearted fruit affair which opens like passion fruit and soon dries to an unmistakable creamy apricot yogurt smell. This is all well and good but then Tobacco blaze starts to get more powdery leather with floral hints just peeping through. The ash like, spiced wood smell reminds me of ELDO Jasmine et cigarette and a patchouli dry note (which reminds me of that rough, recycled type paper you got in primary school...was it called sugar paper?) with the apricot note persisting throughout. My main complaint with this fragrance is...Did smokey and apricots every have to meet? Really? The jury is still deliberating, overall I'm happy with the purchase because It's a talking point of a fragrance and part of a family of scents I like very much. Everything said Tobacco blaze is a success of a blind buy and performance & silage are very good, the presentation is fantastic. I've got a feeling this one will grow on me.

Kind of odd, there's some things I like about Tobacco Blaze and some other things I find almost hard to stomach. It goes on like some crazy kind of tobacco chocolate motor oil, heavy and synthetic and chemical with a thick oily sheen. Nothing makes sense in the beginning but it comes together around the half hour mark. I get three distinct components at this point. The first is a rich base of dry tobacco, very pungent. On top of that is another thick layer of saffron. It's heavy and has something of a chunky, sticky chocolate note buried behind it. Finally, at the top is a smooth and dark fruity apricot. It's the highlight of Tobacco Blaze and my favorite part about it. I've worn Tobacco Blaze about 5 times at this point with mixed results. On some days it breathes well, and comes across as a saffron-spiced dry tobacco scent with an almost airy, dark apricot. It's great when it works like this. On other days it's heavy, cloying and disorganized and sort of remains in a state of limbo, without everything really coming together and just getting stuck in this mucky synthetic kind of fragrant tarpit. I haven't figured out the trick to making this one work yet however, and need to give it a few more wears before reaching my final verdict.

I really like this fragrance. A warm somewhat powdery, smoky, slightly fruity (sweet), tobacco scent. I do not get any vanilla in this. It is not like any other tobacco forward scent I own. 4-5 sprays will be very strong for about 30-40 minutes. Then settles down and will last all day. I get about 8 hours out of this; with occasional whiffs of a very pleasant and irresistible scent toward the end. Reminds me of a humidor at a fine tobacco shop. Not an overpowering ashtray smell! Who would want that? Good cool weather scent. I would even wear in summer; but maybe 2-3 sprays. Don't judge it by the opening. Be patient and wait for the dry down. Not for a young man, but a mature, worldly man. Although a confident woman could totally rock this in the evening! Packaging is also impressive!

Starts out floral, Neroli definitely is forward in the opening. The opening is slightly fresher than i had expected but its definitely not cloyingly sweet. There's definitely that light gasoline vibe from the violet, reminiscent of Fahrenheit but definitely more subltle. It goes slightly fruity in the mid. It then goes slightly sweet smokey and clean leather and the fruity sweetness sticks around with the florals. The woods & patchouli are pretty light. Not getting any overbearing oud at all to my nose, rather its pretty subtle. Got this for $42 bucks. Smells like it will last as well just like all the rest of the La Yuqawam line. I get close similarities to Shuhrah but definitely not 1:1.

The first time I tried it, straight up dizzy, smelled like some harsh chemical rubber stink, like I wanted to chuck it in the trash right then and there. But six months later? Totally different. It’s classy, high end, one of a kind, you ain’t gonna smell like anyone else with this one. Those last notes hit with smoky wood vibe that reminds me the wood scent of Bleu de Chanel. This scent’s straight up for a dude who’s been through some stuff got that seasoned bold personality and a unique taste. Total opposite of those light teen fragrances like A&F Fierce DNA or Montblanc Legend..... Quickly, before they mess with the formula!

Got this one as blind buy, for fairly cheap. Bottle is 2018 year of production. whatever it was before this year i dont know, but 2018 and onward goes like this: Fairly restrained, lasting about 6-7 hrs, small silage. Smell wise - it is plastic doll heads, specifically the barbie dolls, the perfumed plastic they use so barbies smell good and not like cheap toxic material. Dont know how they smell these days, but in 90s to 2000 they used to smell like Tobacco Blaze. Overall, not a bad one, suits super casual dressed guy, preferred to people under 40. Best if cooler months, but wont choke anyone is summer either.

Rasasi's Tobacco Blaze is one hell of a mysterious leather fragrance. I don't really know where to put the tobacco here - don't get much of it except in the form of ash/smokyness. I get mostly heavy leather that is accompanied by some fruity apricot and spicy saffron. Fits into the La Yuqawam line and shares similarities with the original La Yuqawam. A very unique fragrance that I can't compare to anything else I've smelled - powerful, dark, heavy. Good projection and Great longevity make this a decent buy for the price, but please try before you buy! Difficult fragrance to pull off. Rating: 7.5/10 - Goodness!
