Mukhallat Al Oudh

This is my second review for Rasasi's Mukhallat Al Oudh as I've done a complete change of opinion with this fascinating fragrance. After initially not being able to get on with it, I gave it to my mum and she subsiquently smelt amazing. Over the next few months I became enamoured with her tantalising trail and thought it time to retry it again myself. The harmonious blend is so perfect that no one note is detectable alone, it all just works together as a symphony of perfection to become a new unique scent in its own right. It's carnal, musky, sexy but without being dark or smokey as it remains clean and almost soapy smelling. It's what I would imagine the freshly washed clothes of a classy seductress like Dita Von Tease to smell like. It still has an arousing burgundy-red blood note to it (as I mentioned in my previous review) but it's so delectable and mouth watering, it must be akin to what humans smell like to vampires. The quality, projection and silage is exceptional and is up there with the likes of Amouage and Montale, both whom have Arabian fragrance roots of superb quality. It's a concentrated perfume oil, so it thrives and shouts from your pulse points to synchronise with your body heat and life force. Sometimes you need the right time, conditions, maturity, circumstances or state of mind to fully appreciate a fragrance. The moment for me to embrace Rasasi's 'Mukhallat Al Oudh' as my now signature scent was now.

I can't specify notes separately, but this is one of the best mukhallat attars I have ever had. Fresh florals, musky and powdery type. However, it's not woody or typically oudh type. Having sharp opening but not the one that causes headache or effects nose. It's very sweet floral scent with some hints of salt which shown as aquatic notes (maybe). It's a good mukhallat. You can't separate notes as they work all along together. Longevity is great on cloths but I don't know why some attars don't stay much on my skin (wrist), maybe it'll work better on other people. On my wrist I can only smell it about an hour, than a very light smell of it comes from my skin which fades after sometime and i smell nothing. I didn't ask anyone, maybe my nose get along with its scent and other people may feel it. Projection/Silage is good, trail that it leaves in the air is love. I keep returning to this, first I used it in 2014 or 15. At that time, it was my signature scent, than after that I bought it again in 2017 and now in 2024 bought it again. Its really lovely scent. You can wear it in any weather and on any occasion. Don't know about others, but for me its unisex.

Bought Mukhallat Aloudh blind just by seeing a you tube review on it the reviewer made this fragrance sound amazing. I ordered one bottle and when I recieved my package the company had included a scent strip just in case the scent wasn’t for me. I was shocked at the beauty of this fragrance it comes with a glass stick dabber and the rose and geranium sing harmoniously together. I will be trying out more attar oils from this house I’m so excited I will be buying back ups for sure. This attar oil is a real gem and reminds me of how Arabic women smell as they glide past looking and smelling amazing. I would recommend this oil and it sells for a great price point (*☻-☻*) Edit: bought two back ups don’t want to be without this beautiful fragrance it has a wonderful rose that’s jammy and the geranium is quite lovely. This is definitely unisex I’d love to sniff this on a mans chemistry I wonder how lovely it would smell. It’s such a delicious elegant concoction I love it so much.

A lovely perfume, either I am anosmic to this or it is an old bottle, I can't really smell it much and there doesn't seem to be any sillage. It smells quite sweet and there is a really unique sweetness to it - something woody about it I think. I am new to oriental oils of this nature or Arabian oils so I don't quite know how to describe this. It is however very pleasant and not at all intrusive. A skin scent for me, but apparently that is normal with Rasasi. It layers well with Chanel 19 poudre and also other fragrances so it is not at all overbearing or in any way offensive. I would prefer it be stronger and have some sillage but I guess that comes with the territory with Rasasi. I guess I will just have to enjoy it myself :) Edit: Apparently I am the one who cannot smell this. According to my husband, it is strong and can be smelled from quite a distance away. Damn my anosmia!

It's a very clever blend - both interesting and well balanced. There's lots of musk, but I can't get past the creamy, praline and subtle sea notes which put me off. There's an interesting irony blood note which lurks throughout that is subtly tangy that it's almost mouth watering. It has an 80's powerhouse fragrance element to it, but one which has been calmed against a soft cashmere sweater kinda smell. The initial blast had me hovering over the 'dislike' button, but the dry down becomes tamed and calm. I think my problem is that although it is an Arabian fragrance, it is very Western smelling and makes me think of classic Estee Lauder fragrances. I'm sure it's comforting to some but not to me. Update: I gave it to my mother and she loves it. I works so well on her.

This one is just beautiful. One of the finer mukhallats I've come across and for a great price. It's a delightful soft rose and geranium, with a slight oud and fresh herbal middle. It is sweet but not sugary, bright and soft and fresh. I don't get praline, but I do get the freshness and saltiness of a slight marine note. Really well rounded, well blended, just an overall lovely fragrance. This will be an important staple in my fragrances and like some here, I have ordered a second bottle in case the first runs out! Whenever I wear this I cannot stop smelling my wrist, I love it.

Rose florals - Amber - Wood - Musk I bought this on the YouTube suggestion of the reviewer below. Thank you, this perfume is beautiful. I'm bringing it on a visit to my niece where I'll be doing a "rose tasting" of rose based perfumes. I think this one will shine!

what a prodigious essence, a really small drop is more than enough to feel its power, to me its like oud softed with rose, a little in the armani prive rose , love its crescendo, totally unisex, exotic and erotic

This is truly a perfectly made perfume which will suit the first time users of oud /arabian perfume . Very very long lasting (five days on my jacket!) Sillage is above average . Top recommended arabian perfume!

oh. wearing a tester of this at the moment. This isn't unisex after all. I should have realised this. It smells like a very sophisticated girlfriend with a smile on her face. Annoyingly, longevity appears to be stubbornly long. Opening floral burst is delicious but the drydown is the real attention grabber.

Superb perfume very long lasting. Drop it on ur wrists and slightly spread by stick and experience the great fragrance for whole day. Blindly buy it. Here it is written that -for women But it is completely unisex smell

I bought this perfume based on the reviews and compliments. But I was unaware that olfactory culture can also affect the purchase and acceptance of a perfume. A user named Vivvz had commented that it smells like old and traditional Indian perfumes. I didn't pay much attention to it and mostly followed the compliments until I got it and used it and remembered Indian perfumes and incense. This perfume smells exactly like Indians. And for anyone living on the Persian Gulf coast, this smell is very familiar. The perfume has a spicy smell of Indian incense with a red and rosy feel that you can associate with roses, but this perfume is not a rose perfume at all. Even the smell of roses is not clear in it, but it gives the perfume a red and floral smell that is mixed with a very warm and incense smell. I immediately gave it away. Of course, it has good quality. This can be very fragrant for a Westerner, but for an Arab or a person living on the Persian Gulf coast, this perfume is not attractive or new.

Heads-up for Indian buyers: This smells like your typical attar that women have been using during ceremonies for the past 20 years. Maybe rare in the west but very common here in India. My current favourite attar from Rasasi is Esraa.

Fragrances of the house rasasi were always a hit or miss for me... and more of a miss but probably I've just tested the wrong fragrances in their affordable price range. But after I've read all these reviews and also seen a particular one on YT I decided to blind order this MUkhallat. It is such a beautiful surprise! Rose and geranium blended into perfection with floral, ambery, musky and woodsy notes to create this aroma that is very traditional in a way in terms of being a true mukhallat and a type of olfactory experience you more or less expect by this name but in the mean time I find this oil different different in its nuances and particular notes and the uplifting effect it has. I love it because it is very versatile: a soft, enchanting oriental rose, rather fresh and spicy for everyday use, but it layers so beautifully with other orientals, ambers and woody scents, giving some fresh floral accord to dark and deep ouds, too. It is affordable but never smells cheap and fortunately, the representation is high quality and very tasteful. I really can see this fragrance on me almost every day always layered with different perfumes and get different effects and experiences but always have the soft and feminine touch of this beauty. I wrote feminine because in Europe the greanium oil is considered to be one of the most feminine essential oil in aromatherapy, but certainly, this fragrance is just as unisex as any other mukhallats or arabain rose and/or rose-oud combo fragrances.

Sample review: Mukhallat al oudh,... but there's no oudh in it? Maybe placebo effect then? Yesterday I tried it and the first thing this made me think of was the smell of crackling woods in a fire place! I also sensed a rosy note, but this combination was kinda sharp on me and I did not like it much. Today when I put on the sweater I wore yesterday while sampling, I could smell this warm, slightly sweet and creamy rosy scent. 'Nice! Were's that coming from?!' I thought... then I remembered what I put on and decided now to put it on again. First impression is the same as yesterday, but now looking at the notes and the description of wat Geranium smells like I realize that is what I'm smelling mostly. A lemony tinted rose on a woodsy base with a little patchouli. This stage is too sharp for my liking, but I guess that the dry down is pretty nice considering the trace that was left on my skin when wearing my sweater. However, it takes many hours before that final stage arrives. Sillage and longevity are definitely superb!

I blind bought this perfume upon the positive reviews here on fragrantica - thanks to you all and to fragrantica to permit us exchanging our ideas and impressions!!! This is a wonderful frangrance, superbly composed and well balanced. A perfume a man also can wear privided you don ́t take too much even if you would love to apply loads because this scent is so seducing and amazing. I would like to hear experiences of other men who use this frangrance.

Interesting... people around me hate my expensive Mugler's, Agents provocateurs, Duponts, but they love this Rassasi attar. It ́s compliment getter. :D I bought it for 10 euros. Longevity is great, sillage is softer for me.

Yes, it is subtle yet persistent, this is one of the most refined Rasasi oils. Smooth, creamy with a strong Sandalwood and a touch of freshness from rose. I hope this helps
