Oud Al Mubakhar

"Mukhallat" is an Arabic term which means to mix perfume oils. They are usually made by blending different oils, and each new blend differs in aromas, depending on the ingredients used to make it and the origin, quality and proportion of those ingredients. They are very popular attar perfumes in Middle Eastern countries. Each mukhallat mix has a unique fragrance and is produced through the co-distillation of pure oils such as jasmine, rose, saffron, oud, amber, etc. It has a rich floral aroma and sweet notes worthy of royal perfumes. Let's see what the interpretation Rasasi gave to this scent is. Oud Al Mubakhar shares the name with Mukhallat Oudh Al Mubakhar, as well as many notes, and the bottles are the same with a distinctly coloured cap, and in this one, it's gold, but the two perfumes are completely distinct and travel on two paths apart. If Mukhallat tells the story of a rusty and bloody rose, in Mubakhar, the rose is camphoraceous and dewy. Here the key accords are medicinal, spicy, powdery, floral, a little woodier and less musky, and slightly metallic. The perfume reveals a little complex, sharp, maybe nasty, with a camphoraceous mineral slap, announcing an explosion of saffron and violet leaves. Because of the violet leaves, the smell is medicinal and dewy, with camphor undertones. And the prominent saffron shows its plastic edge, akin to a bandaid. The fragrance of sticking plasters or adhesive bandages like Band-Aids is pleasing to some people, but not everyone. I don't mind, and I can handle it just fine. The fresh medicinal scent of saffron feels clean in this chilly fall. After you spray it, let it settle with air instead of judging it by its opening. Then comes the rose after the little medicinal impression, dominant in the middle stage. Not a thick, jammy rose, but something dewy and balmy with a masculine slant. Not sweet at all, but rather a silky yet dry rose. But it's not just a simple rose perfume; it also has a certain complexity. The pink Turkish Damask rose blends with herbal geranium to create a green, rosy accord sustained by an overdose of violet leaves. Now the scent is melancholy, a little soapy but not annoying. It smells comfy and clean. Indeed, the metallic vibe is nearly absent here. Compared to Mukhallat, the oud note is slightly sharper, not suffocating but identifiable in the fray. In the base, I can hear the meaning of the word Mukallat, a beautiful blend of saffron rose and amber, so rosy, sweet and a little smoky, with an oriental bent without a stuffy, raw or animal oud, a kind of oud white and refined, a hint, a breath, just an illusion. Patchouli and musk are domesticated, only added here to prolong longevity. The same net instead the creaminess of sandalwood. The leftover is inviting and intimate, like a seductive caress. The fragrance is loud as soon as I spray it but slowly settles down on the skin like a veil, which stays for a few hours. Depending on your skin chemistry, the fragrance might have a rosy slant or a spicier and animalic lean. As it quickly moves close to the skin, it is safe for office or other indoor places; however, more leaning toward evening and night events. I prefer this type of accord for the cold autumn and winter months. Plus, considering my compliments, it feels nicer in the surrounding air than it does while sniffing your wrists. I base my review and opinion on a bottle I have owned since November 2022.

OK, as others have pointed out there seems to be a slight mix up between the silver top MUKHALLAT and the gold top which doesn't have Mukhallat in the name. This review is for the Rasasi Mukhallat Oud Al Mubakhar, currently available on Notino (£18.69 for 100ml) which does not have oud in the ingredient list and has the silver top. It has top notes of bergamot and saffron. Middle notes of violet geranium and rose. Base notes of musk patchouli and sandalwood. So, the smell. MmmmmHmm, deeeeelightful. First sniff is a little medicinal, metallic sharp chemical. Within seconds this dies down to a wonderful warm floral air. Rose and violet with just a slight patchouli background. This oriental floral breeze stays and mellows out with a gentle musky sandalwood. All the while, running through every scent is the warm sweet saffron. Perfectly balanced. If you like your smells warm sweet and floral then this is just for you. Longevity is very good at around 12 hours and sillage is between heavy and enormous - depending on how much you put on!

Budget Rose It's an easy perfume to find and perhaps a little overlooked due to its complex name and sufferable presentation. The inclusion of the word "Oud" in the name may also scare away a good number of hard oud detractors. However, like many other Middle Eastern fragrances, this perfume contains oud only in the name and none inside the flask. This is a reasonably high-quality perfume, as it is the tradition at Rasasi. It comforts us with its strongly spicy opening with Saffron, and its base with Musk and Sandalwood. These three notes marry divinely with an intense Turkish Rose that blooms in the heart of the evolution, and which seems to be of an immaculate quality. It can be perfectly worn in all 4 seasons and is suitable for all environments except inside a gym or a day spent at the beach. Its longevity is over 8 hours and its sillage almost fills an average room. The price? I bought a 100ml bottle for 12 Euros just a couple of weeks ago in Notino. It opens with citrus and an animalic smell. Animalic in a good and intriguing way. And it stays there. Very good performance. Very nice scent bubble. Very nice blend of all different types of notes. Manly. Linear. The only downside is the rather dull print on the bottle and the cap. And I got it for....ten euros. :') Perhaps my best cheapie ever. How western brands can continue to peddle mediocre, ill-performing juice for five times the price is completely beyond me. You *bet* that gold cap is on its way here! I've had this stuff for awhile. 3rd bottle as I've gifted it twice also. I liked it right away. Comes off to me like traditionally distilled natural middle eastern florals, woods, herbs... As I've developed my nose I've come to only appreciate this one more. It smells similar to Black Aoud but with a more yellow floral aura. Don't trust me though. I buy hundreds of samples for way too much because I don't want to go to the store. And then I still blind buy everything. Edit: I was talking about the muhkalat one. I got both. This one has a slightly more powdery sweet rose. Both great. The black red box one is better. This one still is absolutely fantastic

I agree , It's medicinal in initial 5 minutes , But believe me that's just projectile opening of saffron. Creator designed this scent In a way , when Saffron , rose and Sandal comes together it feels Golden . First comes saffron after 30 minutes it's rose both come 50:50 Same as Iris is Unfamiliar appeal to Many Asians "Big like" Similarly Saffron for Western Fragheads. If one admire Saffron + Sandalwood + Turkish rose That's it. It's oriental yes, very specific taste Will suit over those who have confident and bold personality 9/10

Hello. I have, I bought with a gold cap, I think that the notes given on the fragrantica refer to the golden scent, I feel roses and saffron, this is a decent oriental fragrance, so smell the streets of Dubai and oriental countries. It is a long-lasting fragrance of over 8 hours, I am very pleased to be a pearl for me, it's similar to many Montale and even better. Very good projections on me. perfect at any time and for use throughout the year. I love and recommend. Thank you Rasasi. 10.

Oud Al Mubakhar is a very strong EDP with a very nice price. It is a very oriental/spicy fragrance that lasts a very long time. It starts out with a blast of saffron and rose. On me the dry down is a very nice rosy/musky scent with a touch of patchouli. If you like strong Oriental scents then this one is for you. I wore it this morning since it's cool here in South Florida BUT next time I will wear it at night. Take it easy on the trigger, since a little goes a long way.

fantastic fragrance, if you want to try oud but not pungent or animalic kind, you like more fresh and fruity/floral kind, easy to wear, try this one, only costs about 20 odd dollars. for a 100ml edp, fantastic juice color and heavy glass bottle, definitely try it. the rose is not like thick jammy rose, its watery and it has excellent projection, it has bakhoor mixed with the oud rose combo..beautiful juice for all year round, apply less in summers. 8/10 :)

Back when I first got into perfume, especially Arabians, this type of synthetic but delightful saffron leather was super common and pretty popular. things have moved on but I still have a big love for them. Thusly, I love this. A decent cheapie. Definitely worth the money and you can afford to go hard. This strongly reminds my of Al Rehab al shaikhah and Saat Safa. Really good longevity.

After the little scary begining this smell change to an amazing beautiful perfume. Not sweet at all, rather an silky, at the same time dry turkish rose. But it is not just simple rose smell, it has some complexity also. I smell a little yellow talcum powder which gingerly tenderize the geranium's metalic sparkle. Refined and high niveau creation. Gorgeous saffron, rose and bergamot fragrance,every time I wear Im asked if I'm wearing baby powder.....go figure? So reasonably priced that it should be illegal

I'm reviewing Mubakhar, with the gold cap. This is nearly identical to Esraa, except the opening, which is both sharp and sweet and difficult for me to describe. This hasn't been mentioned by anyone else, but the opening is it's *almost* lychee-esque.... Not fresh lychee, but like the Rubicon drink, or the syrup that comes in canned lychees. There's no lychee in the notes, however - I'm not sure what I'm smelling. It's bizarre. I'm not sure it's bergamot. The drydown is a medicinal saffron (that sticking plaster/bandaid smell) and slight rose. But mainly saffron. This performs very well in heat. Lasts a real long time on my skin with impressive sillage for a few hours. Great scent for the price. But I do prefer Esraa overall. If you have Esraa, there's no need to own this really, as they are so so similar.

OK, there are some problems with this page. First of all, the name is "Rasasi Oud Al Mubakhar" is ok, and on the picture, it is indeed the "Rasasi Oud Al Mubakhar". The big problem is, that the ingredients are mixed up with another edp! These are the ingredients of "Rasasi Mukhallat Oudh Al Mubakhhar"! (The silver cup version) The ingredients of "Rasasi Oud Al Mubakhar" edp are: Top: saffron, ylang-ylang, bergamot Middle: amber, iris Base: sandalwood, cedar, musk I hope someone corrects it.

Medicinal opening which fades quickly. What remains evokes the scent of the male skin. Has a certain something that draws you near, invites intimacy. I wanted an oud for me but, despite that I like to wear some masculine perfumes like Grey Flannel and Fahrenheit this one is pure male. I'll be happy to give it as a gift. Either to my husband or my son... remains to be decided. Great value for the money, as I got many samples of other, expensive ouds, and I like this one the most so far.

This is a good scent i think i like it although is simple and you have this feeling of " i smelled that somewhere before". But it is a nice cake which i love it very much. i think is rich, powerfull and intense althgough men and women can wear it i think is leaning towards the female side. It opens with the Top Notes of Bergamot, Saffron. Middle Notes are Turkish Rose, Violets, Geranium & Base Notes are Sandalwood, Tonka Beans, Musk & Patchouli. V Wrongly Named & it can be Misleading as It does not contained Oud At all. Prominent & Strong Notes are Musk, Turkish Rose, Saffron & Tonka Beans. Longevity & Projection is Excellent. Can be worn whole year & Its Unisex. Packing is Good & Bottle is Ok, Normal One. My Rating is 3.75 out of 5.

There is something about how the rose and oud is done that i love. It reminds me of the Hausa people i would hang around growing up. I find myself reaching for this despite having to say this is not blind by safe if you don't like oud. However, if you think you will like the scent profile it is well worth it for a oud cheapy.

After strong and sharp beginning you get lovely, oriental, rosy scent. It's not a sweet rose to me, rather dry and metallic, but I like it because it's so different from any other rose fragrances I know. I'm amazed by the sillage and longevity. When I use it I can smell it in my office even the next day.

Picked this up as my first oud. It is very intense, strong, long-lasting. Rose is the dominant note, like some kind of a rose balsam. Got it for $10. Incredible value, preferably to be worn by older gentlemen or gentlewomen as my grandmother used to wear a similar fragrance.

I prefer the mukhallat version ..the one with silver cap smell so expensive and last for long for a cheap price 8/10

Opening reminds you of Hospital, it settles after not a bad scent. Good for only cold weathers.

I’ve got the silver cap Mukhallat (black and red box) version and I’m so pleased that I finally bought this. The cheap and cheerful Arabian scents are so often hit and miss, but for £16.99 for 100ml what’s not to enjoy about this one. It’s a synthetic, clean, woody, neutral rose that’s a little medicinal with loads of saffron but I like it, as I have no high expectations. It’s like a low performing and blander version of my ultimate scent (which I’ve yet to find). Btw if anyone knows a long lasting and powerful alternative to this then please let me know. 3 - 5 sprays stays with me for a few hours but that’s it - that’s a shame but I’m not complaining too loudly for the price. I can’t fault the bottle and it’s an easy, fun and expectation-less daytime wear. I’ve realised that this reminds me of my favourite bubble bath that I buy whenever I’m in Spain from Eroski called Moussel Classique. I love the smell so much. Damn it that is only lasts 1.5- 2 hours. It’s now my gym scent, as it’s so easy to wear, clean and lasts just long enough to get me through my 1 hour class. Update: So I sprayed this 20 times before I went to work and that seemed to kick-start its power. My colleague asked me if I was wearing a rose/oud fragrance and my boyfriend said I smelt like an “Indian shop”. It’s certainly more synthetically incensey when you over-spray. It lasted about 4 hours on my skin and is still on my clothes 15 hours later. But I’ve decided I’m done with it and my fleeting enjoyment has passed. It’s cheap, cheerful but it doesn’t hold my interest anymore. A better alternative to this is Montale’s Aoud Damascus. Then I found an even better and much cheaper alternative: Al Rehab’s Lailat Elomer - it’s this but with a smoother intensity and with amazing lasting power.

I wish it just stayed as sharp and as provocative as it is during the opening. Its just so stunning. Initially it does resemble rosy montale fragrances which I like because its significantly cheaper than them. But like a couple of minutes later it dries down to a rosy-geranium soap enveloped into flickering spiciness on me. From that point on its just so all over the place that it has no personality and for me its just meeh. It becomes a skin scent in about 5 or so hours. Definitely a more male scent. I smelled it on men before and it suprised me how I detected zero rose and a sh ton of almost carnal, animalic spiciness on them. Silver cap one.

I just tried it for the second time since I got it (blind buy online)... I smell a room freshener smell, that’s it. I can’t make out the rose or even the saffron. Have put it in the wardrobe to macerate to see if it makes a difference. I feel like I sprayed myself with toilet spray, the kind they use in seedy old motel rooms to make them smell fresh but they just smell musty and dark.

The review is for Mukhallat version, with silver cap. Given the fact that they were discounted, I bought blindly for about 20 euros (both) Afshan and Mukhallat Oud Al Mubakhar, from Rasasi. Though I like strong perfumes, I found that they have harsh opening, almost unpleasant. Mukhallat has a medicinal like opening. In opening, it smells very strong, but after about a quart of hour, the dry down is awesome! Mukhallat reveals in a stylish way its oud accord and the rose, maybe too much rose. I found them both wearable by men w/o problems. And that's said by a grizzled man. Regarding the performances, Mukhallat is long lasting, with good sillage for about 2-3 hours and it was a good surprise for me. Very long lasting on clothes. An observation, not necessarly a bad one: perfume seems to me simple, without complexity. So I layered it with Afshan and the result was outstanding. Seriously, give it a try!

The saffron prevents me from breathing so I actually don't know a whole lot about this scent. I know it lasts long because I was unconscious for quite a while.

FIrst, this is stonrg on the ylang-ylang note on my skin along with a calming, meditative and spicy saffron note. More geranium than rose and a powdery, bit melancholic note maybe iris or violet? It doesn't develop per se, but as it dries and calms down, after about one and a half or two hours wearing, it becaomes a creamy-rosy scent, luxurious body lotion-like, as if it was a very different fragrance from the one that we get initially. It is strong and longlasting but projection is very moderate, it becomes a comforting skin scent after a while but it lasts and lasts..... I understand that there is no oud among the notes and I don't expect it for this price but it gives an excellent impression of oudwith the genious mixture of other notes. I definetely recommend not to judge it too quickly because it changes drastically from the first impression. Also, it is more beautiful in the air around you than while sniffing from the wrists. It strongly reminds me on Esraa (CPO) but the latter is more chemical smelling in my opinion, at least my husband reacted to it like it smells like chemicals I use in our bathroom (I don't agree but I see his point, however, Esraa, too, needs patience before judging it). Esraa is more floral and sweeter and emphasizes ylang ylang, and it leans more towards feminine. I definetely prefer Oud Al Mubakha over Esraa. Mukhallat Oudh al Mubakhar is an entirely different fragrance indeed, nothing to do with this fragrance except the name, it is beautiful, too, but different: fresher, sweeter, more floral and has more rose, I think the Mukhallat is easier to wear and 'prettier' but they both have their own place in my wardrobe:)

rassasi is one of the best arabian perfumeries offering a wide range of oriental perfumes to suit everyone at every price range.. oud rose saffron and amber iis called a mukhalat and it has an extremely distinctive sweet smoky rosy woody aroma its an acquired smell for non oud users they may find it a bit strange but for those who are familiar with oriental and oudy accords would enjoy this and inmp it has no fecal or urinal accords in any aspect and it's an extremely versatile perfume in layering offering great longevity and silage ..many people fine white florals especially indolic jasmine as having a urine like acord it all depends on each individual's chemistry so to the reviewer under me i believe it's more of a chemistry issue than the actual smell of the perfume for the perfume is a typical floriental oriental accord reminiscent of many by montale ..i am only reviewing this vaguely in defend of the ame of rasasi company i am not affiliated with them but i have been using their perfumes for over 25 years and they offer some of the most wearable and affordable mainstream arbian type of perfumes .

This is a very underrated scent. The bottle simple and unpretentious but the juice inside!! Balance is the key to this gem. This is a very exotic, oriental and beautiful perfume with a spicy and prominent saffron, a rose that lends its magnetic aroma subtly, sandalwood that adds creaminess and bergamot keeping a fine balance between sweet, spicy, woody and animalic and prevent the concoction from becoming too sweet. Though not listed i can detect a strong whiff of oud, deep and persistent. The spice here is gentle, aromatic and sultry,the musk seductive enough but never repulsive, nothing harsh or astringent, pure bliss and an almost erotic caress of the olfactory senses. I catch whiffs of it occasionally and find it mesmerising. Everything is orchestrated around Saffron, which is the star of the show. Huge longevity and sillage, another plus. For those who love Orientals with a strong saffron note this is an absolute must!!!

This has a very gentle note similar to rose flavoured Turkish Delight (the Turkish rose perhaps!), or maybe marshmallow too from the tonka. I bought this as I'm interested in buying a bottle of the supposedly legendary Oud Qadim by Junaid Jamshed, and one reviewer of Oud Qadim says that this is pretty much a clone of that. {BTW, someone has compared this to Black Aoud by Montale which is just plain inaccurate- I have both. Try Faqat Lil Rijal by Rasasi if you want something very similar to Black Aoud, it's great, and it's masculine.} That all said, this is a really lovely (in my view, sweet) scent and I don't regret my purchase. I'll add to this at a later date. Well, the Oud Qadim has arrived and yes, these are 95% similar, and Oud Al Mubakhar (approx £13) could definitely be used as an alternative to Oud Qadim (£30) - not that either will break the bank!

I bought this as a blind by, only by what was presented on Fragrantica and what a great buy! I've started to get into Arabian Perfumes and wanted to be careful what I bought. I like a deeper, more long lasting scent to wear. This is quite the perfume. Most of my Arabian Perfumes are from Rasasi, they just have what it takes to please a newbie of their types of scents,like me. This is a deep, warm, sweet but yet unusual fragrance that pleases every whiff I take. I love perfumes and own maybe 100 (or more) bottles. I find this to be sweet but not too sweet, feminine and with a touch of oud and I think it's the Saffron that I'm smelling the most. Very soft and gentle and not over powering, not too oudhy, just perfect as perfect can be. I love it! "Mukhallat Oudh Al Mubakhar" is a keeper for me.

Review is for the gold cap version as pictured. This is a great saffron rose. I don't detect much oudh, but that's okay because this is perfect for summer. It's 98° F with high humidity, typical weather for August, and this stuff performs well. As others mention below, the saffron has a medicinal quality, definitely the Band Aid smell. I enjoy that crisp saffron medicine type scent because it feels clean in this stifling weather. You always hear that in the heat the best fragrances are citrus or aquatic; however, in hideous high humidity swamp conditions like where I live, aromatics tend to perform better. So this is a winner. All I get is saffron and rose. I detect zero oudh. My bottle is about eight years old. Lasts a couple of hours. Dry down is a soft rose.

No one here mentioned lily of the valley. This is really reminiscent of it, but that's probably the gurjun balsam which is used in all types of varnish (wood/nails) and also perfumes. Also that's the reason people voted for Aoud Damascus which has the gurjun balsam (it has that medicinal vibe). That's pretty much all I can smell and some sandalwood in the background and saffron too. There's definitely no rose. I have the gold cap.

If you have not been exposed to the notes pyramid presented for this fragrance specially designed to be oriental /middle eastern-esque, you will need to have what they call in the food world an ‘acquired taste’ to be able to appreciate. Worn this one day, people who smelled this for the first time thought it was projecting a urine scent - this coming from common people. But the dry down for me is very good.

This is akin to or shares a lot of similarities with Lattafa's Pure Oudi and Montale's Black prestigium/Gold prestigium. It is pure middle eastern vibe but very palatable to the western nose. It is loud and in charge. It is not offensive at all. It is a little medicinal after first spray, however the dry down is quite nice. It is a deep like for me just because there is not much uniqueness to it.

Can anyone tell me what is the difference between the above one and MUKKHALAT Oudh Al Mubakhhar? It is in identical bottle but with silver cup, name is slightly different and on polish drugstores' websites notes are distinguishable as well, but on Rasasi's official site description is the same for both of them... CAREFUL! The reviews are about other VERY SIMILAR NAMED ONE. This one smells terrible honestly. This is the worst scent I have ever smelled. I sprayed it and washed and washed over and over. This is a very sour and bitter smell. If you like the smell of the old type of urinal cakes you will like this....

Yes the Mukhallat version is much more beautiful with a generous amount of rose and a nice oud accord, but neither one smells anything like Rose d'Arabie (Armani), which is not a bad thing.

When applied to the skin i notice a very sharp opening which almost makes me sneeze, dries down to a musky scent for me however im still not certain about it, also projection is decent.

Prominently rose with little saffron & sandalwood. I don't smell any bergamot. Good only for rose lovers. Definitely unisex. Ok in terms of longevity & sillage.

Very arabic scent, sharp, a bit sour, spicy, lot of saffron and damask rose in it. If you like typical arabic oriental spicy fragrances, go for it.

The main note here is burn plastic. It opens up with some florals and dries down to soap + burnt plastic. Absolute disappointment to me
