Oudh Al Boruzz Asrar Indonesia

I have always admired The House of Rasasi for its quality fragrances in budget section. However, Boruzz Line always eluded me due to its unavailability and higher price tag. May be fault lies with Rasasi for its poor marketing of this line. Before beginning, let me state that i have fell head over heels for Asrar Indonesia. If i could, i would buy a bottle as well as backup of it at same time. So you may disregard anything i say next as it could be completely biased opinion. To my nose, it is one of the most gorgeous, high quality, regal, elegant, versatile and many other similar adjectives which i can't think of right now. When you spray this liquid gold (slight exaggeration here, but My Review, My Choice) you get this beautiful note of Grapefruit which is soon joined by one of the most sought after Leathery Tones of Hindi Oud without any barn or fecal nuance. Although that tone recedes into background but it never stops haunting you even when a spicy note of ginger is introduced. Sadly, all good things must come to an end as after about an hour this magical combination of Spice and Wood (Not referring to Creed) ends. Last part of this fragrance is dominated by Rose and sweeter notes which to my nose smells like creamy vanilla and other floral elements. If i have to make associations with other fragrances then imagine opening Grapefruit of Elysium with Leathery tone of Meydan. Note of Rose, similar to that in Rose Cruise with a creamy dry down to Edition Blanche. After thoroughly testing it for about a week, i came to conclusion that performance on this one is excellent but just short of beast mode. On skin it lasts for over 10 hours easily in which it projects for about an arm in first hour then into a close bubble for next 3 hours. On clothes, it lasted for more than 24 hours. It could have lasted more but i didn't bother to keep my sweaty shirt unwashed just for the sake of science. As far as season is concerned, it works great in high heat without being cloying. As your body heats up, it projects more. As for colder months, i think it would do equally good if not better. Occasion wise, this is totally versatile but i would rather keep it for special occasion.

First, the presentation. The package and the vessel: solid, clean, and classy. The reflective metal inlay is beautifully labeled with small etched characters - no printed or affixed labels here - so as to not detract from the quality of the polished mirror. The oud accord, though likely synthetic due to its longevity, is apparent instantly and it is a well crafted and surprisingly bright homage to the complex, dark, and syrupy essential oil. The oud here is not fecal or reminiscent of a stable, it is not animalic, it is clean, woody, and clearly selected for global appreciation. Ginger and a vivacious grapefruit bring with them levity that balances the oud's grounding qualities. A dash of vetiver adds complexity. As Oudh Al Boruzz Asrar Indonesia matures on the skin its sillage declines precipitously and the subtleties grow, fading to an inoffensive fragrance that projects closely but not too close. I consider it bold but absolutely safe for western office use if applied sparingly to skin or fabric (no more than 2 sprays for men). On a man Oudh Al Boruzz Asrar Indonesia presents a classy and polished daytime aura. On a woman, the spicy ginger and bright pamplemousse will certainly combine to assert an atypical, strong, and sunny character. This may be the most lovely and delicate of oud/citrus combinations I've had the pleasure of wearing. I consider Oudh Al Boruzz Asrar Indonesia to be fully unisex, constrained only by the character of the one who has chosen to adorn themself with this liquid delight.

It opens with a big natural smelling barnyard oud (if an aromachemical, it's really a great one!), that will be kept fresh by a supporting ginger/bergamot combo. In the drydown, the oud calms down, to leave some room for a musky (nearly floral) amber, still freshened by bergamot, and very refined. Overall I would agree that it shares a similar structure with AdP Colonia Oud, but here, it stands really a step up in quality and natural feeling. Unfortunately, not in terms of performance, which is moderate (at most) on my skin. Given that, the retail price might be a bit high for what it delivers, but I'm glad I got informed about a great deal (thanks Nurhaci!) that makes scent smell better :) As others have stated before, it might not manage to impress fans of top-end oud fragrances like Areej LeDore or Bortnikoff, but on its own (and with a 50% discount off msrp) I think it might be well worth it for most. For what I've tried as of today, Rasasi is for sure the house that has impressed me the most of all the middle-eastern houses, with their great fragrances at very affordable prices. Please keep on with the great work! A thumbs up for me!

Hmm, does anyone get a Escentric Molecules 02 when they smell this? Maybe I haven't let it sit yet...just arrived today. It's very pleasant and not what I expected from an oud fragrance. This is not pungent at all. Very fresh with the citruses and ginger. This oud is very gentle. Excellent fragrance for those afraid of oud. If oud itself can be fresh, then this is that fragrance. Will definitely return for an update once this has had some time to macerate. Update 2/26/24: This is gonna be really good! I tested it out over the weekend and I will certainly be getting a backup bottle before the price cranks up. So, just a few days of sitting, this is projecting a lot better. It's gotten even more smooth. The citruses and ginger at the top, with the greenish oud makes a beautiful concoction. This fragrance isn't punchy, but very present. I sprayed this around 9am and was still very present when I showered 11 hours later...and not a skin scent at this time. This is elegant and posh.

Let's talk about and Oud which is totally different from the dirty Oud Rose combos filled with manure like odour in the name of Oud. Lol. If you have sniffed actual spicy green Indonesian Oud you will be pleasantly surprised. This is spicy green vetiver like version of Oud with a hint of that golden hue from Indian Oud which will tickle the Oud bone of the discerning noses. The ginger note is smooth spiced up by powdery non sweet iris. The black tea bag note and vetiver add gravity to this making it a mature scent. But its so refreshing and sophistication if you like it you ll be in love with it pretty soon. Remains at arms length with adequate projection. longevity is around 7 to 11 h. Suited for Warm/pleasant weather. Classy. Definitely masculine. Unique and very well blended. If you like this dont forget to sample Meydan by Spirit of Dubai. I had been barking about Asrar for a long time on YouTube. Finally FT notices.

I’m female who shies away from overly feminine scents and I love this - I’d say this was perfectly unisex. Not often can you describe an oud based Arabian scent as fresh, light and airy, but that’s exactly what this is. It has the same transparent but beast-mode quality as Ajmal’s Qafiya line. The saviour in this perky oud is the ginger, bergamot, grapefruit, vetiver and white musk. This zingy citrus pours its acid tang over the (admittedly) gently barnyardy and medicinal Indonesian oud. After the initial citrus-oud blast, it still retains its uplifting zesty nature, but the oud quits its animalic cry to simply become a musky, herbal and uplifting scent. Unfortunately it becomes a close skin-scent after the first hour or so, but it has fantastic longevity on clothes (not so long on skin) and it’s just wonderful. Shame it has to be on the higher end of Rasasi’s price list.

It smells devine! High quality ingredients and a flawless blending. Grapefruit, ginger and oud with some iris flying around on my skin. Very simple composition but luxurious perfume. It's amazing how they managed to mix oud and citruses so gorgeously. This type of oud has animalic (even fecal) nuances they can discourage beginner or intermediate noses, but if you want the real deal, this oud is a good starting point. Once the oud settles down is just a marvelous experience. It's so rich and deep. I love the way you get different facets when you use Asar Indonesia in all four seasons. It's another experience every time. I have a March 2020 batch, projection and longevity are moderate. I was hoping something more powerful to be honest due some reviews talking about beast mode on this one but is ok, otherwise you could be annoyed.

Wow, this one is hard to pin down. As you can see from the comments they go from "It's horrid, strong oud!" To, "It's fresh and great for spring time!" The reality is it goes on like insane oud but the vibe it gives off is fresh. The first time I wore it, I was in a gas station and I asked the girl behind the counter what she thought. I though she would be repulsed by how strong the oud was. Do you know what she said!? "I love it! It is so fresh! Like Polo Green! It smells really good." Mind you, I live by the beach in Los Angeles, not in the Middle East where oud is common. I still can't smell the fresh aspects of this but others can. What a damn chameleon this thing is.

Guys, this stuff is good. So good. I know it says oud in the title but if you're expecting a barnyard or skanky oud, you won't find it here. Lot's of spice on top, ginger and others, that smell very refined. The oud is clean and subdued, in the background for sure. This is a good all around fragrance and can be worn in all seasons. There is something in it that reminds me of Lalique Pour Homme, the lion one, but with a Middle Eastern twist. They don't smell alike, but they remind me of each other. If you like the Lalique you'll probably like this one too. I agree with the other reviewer who says this is a "boss" fragrance. You'll smell like a man and THE man in this one.

I’m stunned. I have never smelled anything like this in my life. The opening is fresh cow pattie - green, pungent and slightly floral. I hate it and I love it. This is not work friendly, unless you work from home. Even though it’s so dank, I can’t stop wanting to smell it. It sort of has a sex funk to it. Imagine getting inside your car and it smells like someone just fcked in the backseat and left their ho stank on it. On dry down, this accord mellows out and changes into a fresh soapy smell. I’m not sure where I would wear this, but I love having it in my repertoire. This is for the brave. BTW - this has 10% fragrance oil, so it’s really in between an EDT and EDP.

What do I say about this absolutely beautiful masterpiece! In my collection this is the one of the most versatile fragrance that I own and I absolutely love how different it smells. The entire Rasasi Boruzz line is pure class but this one tops ny list. I can pull it off in summers, Winters, night or day, dressed up or casual. Fresh, slightly fruity and develops into a rich dense slightly spicy fragrance when the Indonesian oud starts kicking in but it somehow still maintains the fresh vibe. This is not your typical barnyard type oud accord that's associated with indian oud. It's a crowd pleaser and gets a lot of compliments.

Completely disagree with the "Review" under mine. You must try this as it contains real oud for sure, and is quite elegant and beautifully blended. Definitely not feminine and anyone can pull it off. It's "western friendly", can be simplified as a real oud alternative to TF Oud Wood and the like. I own artisanal ouds from distillers like Ensar, Adam, JKDLapp and enjoy oud attars from ASAQ, so I have some experience with the material. As far as I am concerned, Rasasi succeeded in their goal of creating a high end line with this masterpiece. A cut above, this is not your standard Rasasi (which also has great standouts).

Outside of smelling posh, elegant, and sophisticated...this fragrance is kinda difficult for me to describe. It starts off with this grapefruit and ginger at the top, then this smooth greenish oud comes into the fray. It turns woody, like someone is walking around a forest, but not inside one. No need to worry about the lifespan of this one. If the smell fits, you got a gem. This is a more pricy offering for Rasasi, but worth it. This is oud for people scared of oud. NOTHING scanky here; all smooth woody vibes. No need for the ratings...this is 10's across the board. This was deserving of a 2nd review.

if a person has experienced different kind of oud, one can tell the quality of each.this is one of the finest oud based fragrances which is raw yet beautiful, it reminded me of the quality of MFK, its kinda simialr to cashmere and silk mood from that house but less playful and on your face. just sitting at a desert, enjoying the wind wearing a jubah, and smelling this from the wrist... thats how i picture this....this is posh and as good as it gets....thank you Rasasi for giving us some of the best fragrances....ill cherish this. 10/10... masterpiece(not for everyone i suppose, only if you love oud)

Very impressive blend, I'm pretty shocked this is out of the house of Rasasi, normally known for their budget blends and "twists" of other brands releases. Extremely well balanced oud base against a robust grapefruit and ginger. I'm somewhat reminded of what M7 was trying to represent (which I have about 40ml left of a vintage). They are not the same scent though just to be clear, this one is more juicy, spicier and woodier. Class from start to finish, I could see this being a signature scent for some.

Agree with the review below mine, disagreeing with the one below theirs (lol, let's keep this going.) This is, to me, what I had hoped Acqua Di Parma's Oud would be like. While it's nice in its own right, ADP's slightly sour opening is personally a bit of a turn-off. Here, the Oud is the base everything else sits on. The floral and citrus notes waft off, and combine with, it to provide a degree of fresh elegance that's not often found in Oud fragrances which tend to lean on the heavier side.

A wonderful masterpiece from Rasasi made with real oud, unlike the synthetic crap used in occidental oud fragrances. A very pleasant chypre fragrance, blended beautifully. It needs time to be appreciated and it may not be to everyone's taste, but it puts a smile on my face and I find myself reaching out for it more often than other fragrances in my collection. Received compliments when wearing this. The oud is slightly metallic and medicinal which may be a put-off for non-connoisseurs.

This may just be the classiest perfume I've ever laid my nose on. Luxurious, appropriate for almost any weather, strong middle-eastern backbone with the oud, yet smells fresh and western enough to not offend any noses. Just enough of an exotic touch to give it an air of intrigue. If you love gentlemanly perfumes like Grey Vetiver by Tom Ford, Safari Extreme by Abdul Samad Al Qurashi, and Reflection Man by Amouage then definitely check this one out. Part of my top 5 scents ever.

This is just a beautiful fragrance truly stunning with great performance and sillage true beast mode and it does it all in a fantastic way. When i wear this fragrance it instantly reminds me of walking through the atlantis hotel in dubai lovely fresh spicy woody slightly citrus with a hint of beautiful oud. After testing this i have ordered not one but two full bottles thats how much i love this fragrance. Another great from the wonderful house of Rasasi *****

Invigorating fresh citruses with a robust crunchy bite of oud enveloped with hints of greenness. Very dry and slightly sweet. Refined, high quality, and overall an impressive blend from Rasasi, the most wearable and versatile in this line. Projects beautifully for the initial two hour mark, lasted upto 8 hours on my skin. Highly reccomend to all those exploring different facets of the Oud note in perfumery. 9/10

Ordering my 3rd bottle. The best oud that's ever hit my skin. This is the only fragrance I check regularly to see if it's back in stock, and at a decent price range which requires a great deal of patience lol. Love this fragrance from beginning to end! Extremely versatile.

Tengo 25 años, e salido un dia de otoño lluvioso con mi pareja (ella 35 años) el perfume a ido fenomenal al parecer, duró toda la salida minimo unas 6 horas ademas de que se me pego al perfume, creo que le a encantado. Muy feliz con el resultado!

@magneto78 Perhaps what you got was either a fake or they simply mislabeled because this doesn't smell feminine at all, has a healthy dose of oud, and has zero florals in it. That's three strikes. Something is up.

I don't know why people didn't appreciate this fragrance line. Specially this fragrance. This fragrance is a middle eastern Aventus. I would say this is much more potent than Aventus recent batches.

Exceptional quality and masterful blend, all year around Oud perfume without skank. Soft spicy citrusy creamy powdery at the same time.Only issue is performance is very bad.

Western noses will enjoy this smelled in the air. Gorgeous fragrance, just give it some time. A great year round fragrance for sure. 10/10

Which is better asrar indonesia or abeer Malaysia? I'm super confused. Please help.

I was not expecting this... Well done Rasasi. Took me by surprise that this brand could release such a well crafted perfume, using this quality of ingredients. This has Oud, the real thing, providing the perfect touch of animalic nuances, but nothing overwhelming. The opening is a blast of citruses together with the Oud. Then you have beautiful ginger and a juicy vetiver, that makes this fragrance special, uplifting, happy and refine... This is not the in-your-face typical middle-eastern composition, but mellow, bright and in my opinion easy to wear. The dry down is to die for. The more animalic nuances provided by the Oud turn down a little bit and you are left with a musky, kind of herbal and citrusy scent, that is very sexy to my nose. My only problem, and this is my fault, is the performance in my skin. I wish it projects more and I could feel easier this lovely dry-down. But my skin has no mercy, it's greedy and wants this juice for itself... Uniqueness: medium-high Scent: 8.5/10 Performance: medium Would I buy it: Yes (already in my collection)

Reformulation Alert. From what I hear, the older batches from 2018 are a lot better, I have Atheer Cambodia and Ruh Al Assam, they last very long, I have Asrar Indonesia but its the 2019 batch, I dont know how people say its very long lasting, because in my opinion its only moderate and does not project that great too. I caved in all that hype and purchased it. When it comes to the smell, I very agree on the notes provided in Fragrantica, its very reminiscent of the top notes of lemon and Bergamot with Vetiver and woods followed up with the Oud - even though the Oud is a little faint in the later batches. Its a good fragrance and if you are a fan of the Boruzz like from Rasassi, then this is a must buy as a part of your collection.

@magneto78 .. the worst review on this page .. this guy has not even seen this perfume & giving his thought LMAO. this is not feminine at all , this is SKANKY OUD & is not for beginners AT ALL . but definetly a must buy if anyone is in love with Animalic STRONG OUD . Rasasi Faqat Lil Rijal has similar vibe to it but this is more luxurious version of that . I have try this few more times before picking up a bottle cause am not a big fan of Animalic Notes ( and i sold Faqat Lil Rijal because of that) . But is a BEAST FRAG nonetheless.

Woody & bitter oud with a sharp zest. Almost 90% similar to Ajmal Mukhallat Al Oudh Al Muattaq (the EDP spray, not the oil). Honestly, I prefer Ajmal's take. It's more round. Although, to many, the 2 are almost indistinguishable. Cool weather mature wear. Big "Like".

It's quite different from other fresh ouds out there because the citrus is quite vivid and almost juicy; unfortunately there's a synthetically metallic taste that I just can't get used to..

At the price providing such a low quality, seems Rasasi is cheating. Intimate lasting/sillage/projection. I suggest to go with Ajmal amir one instead which has similar scent profile but far superior quality/sillage/lasting.and is approximately with same price tag

Every single time I smell or wear this fragrance, I feel more and more depressed. I love Rasasi, I love Oud, I love tea notes, but THIS... this gives me none of the pleasures those three things have given me on any other occasion. I spray this fragrance, and immediately visualize the only thing this smell can possibly make me think of; a petting zoo! I’ve shown this to friends and they also say it smells akin to that of a petting zoo. The best part about this abrasive fragrance is the way it mocks you by never changing into something different; the opening, dry down, everything is the same scent through and through. Did I mention performance? Oh my god, this fragrance performs like a monster! Never again will you have to worry about finding that perfect petting zoo scent at the cost of it fading away fast, this will stay on you for AT LEAST 12 HOURS to keep you unapproachable in the eyes of others throughout the day/night/whenever you wish to smell like a farm setting containing hay, feed pellets, horses, sheep, donkeys, etc. I blind bought this and have now been thrown to the wolves. I don’t care anymore, I’m doomed to keep spiraling downwards as I reapply, hoping it will work for me in a different climate/season/weather; always to no avail. I give up, I’m raising the white flag, let the livestock surround me and feast until nothing is left. This is my fate

Struggling with this one. So many people seem to like it and can ascribe to it some wonderful scents, but I can't. All I can smell is an unpleasant burnt chemicals earthy aroma. It might be my nose as my wife doesn't smell what I smell. She describes it as smelling like an airport departure lounge - spicy with lots of different complex aromas. Think I'll have to come back to this further down my fragrance journey.

I gave it a try yesterday, it should be ginger, bergamot and grapefruit in the opening, but there is something else which i'm sorry to say repellent. the opening is way too much for me. i really couldn't bear it. in the dry down it somehow reminds me of "Cologne Intense" by Houbigant. I had high hopes for this one and really wanted to like it, but its a pass for me.

I bought it because it mentions Indonesia. Always curious with any fragrance mentioning my country in its brand. But, while it is possibly a nice perfume in itself, it is apparently not for Indonesian taste. A not-easily-recognised combination of oud scent and some strong lime or something. Or maybe I am just not into orris.

I just got a sample from Notino but it doesn't smell anything like described, or anything like displayed notes here...I am very confused, I was expecting a nice citrusy, Italian-ish Oud scent but what I got smelled like a mix of plastic, petrol, urine and skanky sweat. Ah well...

nothing impressive that would be pleasant for the masses, although i love oud fragrances i expected something much more colorful, much more interesting notes ... nothing new for that money

UPDATE Thought I'd give this one another try. No, just as nasty as before. Leather and manure.

Dont bother. Total flop. Dont beleive the hype. Such an impotent perfume and oud whatsoever.

If you're lucky enough to have the skin chemistry for this perfume, you're a winner. To me this is a masterpiece but, it took me some time to realise that with oud, everything is about dosage! Longevity is crazy! The development from sharp citrus to fresh airy oud is a short journey depending on how heavy handed you spray. A little goes a long way. With this perfume less is more because it's as if the particles are in the air around you when you move, not on you. If you overspray, youll only get barnyard poop. Try before you ditch it. Its worth it but I wished these middle eastern brands did more samples. Blind buys are ok if the perfume is inexpensive but at a certain price point, we should be able to sample from the brand, not only from kind perfume collectors/sellers. Otherwise, plendid.

For a long time I hated this perfume however today I realized I was the problem, this afternoon for the first time in my experience with Oudh Al Boruzz Asrar Indonesia took me by surprise! I finally sprayed on clothing and then I was heaven! Luca Turin was right in his Perfume The Guide book he said that "Oud express it self best on fabric" I was spraying this Rasasi fresh oud on my skin which becomes just an animalic woody fresh lemon with a faint vetiver but on clothing becomes my idea of how an interesting well groomed Rake male should smell like in a dark mysterious forest at night with pine trees a chic citric scent around him.

This fragrance is masterpiece very versatile fragrance and spary on your colthes...on some people oud reacts with skin chemistry sometimes which will make oud smell like its rotten.. this is perfect for spring and try 3 or 4 time it will grow on you give some time to this fragrance and try the older batch..and grab the bottle if you find this whole line is going to disconnected very sad ! Scent - 10/10 Uniqueness - 9/10 it reminds me of maydan spirit of dubai which is very expensive fragrance Performance -10/ 10 try old batch! Value for money is exelent quality of this fragrance is 10 / 10 top notch very very high quality !

On my skin, for some reason I don't get the animalic, barnyard, fecal everyone here talks about (and that's the reason I blind bought it). I love animalic scents as of right now, but on my skin this is not it. I only get a light oud and some freshness without the barnyard effect. Kinda disappointed actually, because I wanted to add this up to the manure (barnyard, fecal, poop, whatever you wanna call it) scents mini collection I am trying to build. Also, it's a well behaved scent; it sits close to skin. It's an okay purchase, but I was expecting a lot more after reading the reviews.

Having used good quality dehn al oud (oil of oud) , specifically Hindi oud, and knowing what it smells like, I do not get any barnyard oud in this. It is a pleasant fragrance, but smells largely citrus-floral to me. Surprisingly the only floral note in this, the orris, is voted way down, so I am quite confused. I purchased a decant from a reliable source, and they wouldn't sell fakes ( and this surely isn't a fake, as the quality is good). But i hope they didn't decant another from oud Al boruzz line by mistake. If others have a similar experiences, please do share with me.

Best springtime fragrance ever. Two sprays, MAX, and watch people vigorously in&exhale deeply around you while staying put. What i appreciate about this the most is its x-factor-ness and yet the extreme wearability of it. The bullseye of what niche lovers look for. Grapefruit, oud, Iris, tea, vetiver, woods, amber and musk. In that order. Best smelled in the air. Up close and you’ll judge it harshly. No matter what you smell up close, just go for it. You will definitely be rewarded. Trust me. Definitely a forever fragrance.
