Sotoor Waaw

Sotoor Waaw by Rasasi is a fascinating journey through spices, woods, and soft resins, and I’ve found it to be one of the most captivating fragrances in my collection. Fantastic composition. It is warm, soft and semi-sweet resinous fragrance with a sense of space, air in it (is it cardamon and lavender that bring this effect?). Usually this kind of resinous compositions are somehow plain, they remind of a cozy cashmir blanket you can roll in, but this one is different. You get a place in the late July or August to rest in the shade of the cedar trees, to take a breath and to observe a valley. There is a sense of field with herbs and seaside somewhere behind hills. All this has almost therapic effect, it calms you down. Reminds me of the beautiful landscapes of Balkan countries. As the composition is rich, the accords will differ on different types of skin. This fragrance is friendly to the pale blond skin, and I can't wait to test how it would sound on the brunette skin, must be gorgeous. The sillage is quite strong, although it is so difficult to stop applying it. One-two sprays is totally enough. ps. by the way, the lable on the bottle is really not sticked properly, but it can be easily fixed :) i have ordered the second flacon of this treasure.

I think this has been reformulated. I got a decant in 2019 and finally got round to buying a bottle 8 months ago. It could just be me but there seems to be something missing from what I remember the decant being like. It's missing a slightly boozy, sweet, ambery edge. It seems more flat and almost powdery EDIT: What the hell?!?! I've not sprayed this for around 6 months. I shook the bottle, put it on a shelf and pretty much forgot about it for spring/summer. Just sprayed it now to remind myself what is different and it seems to be back to how I remember my decant smelling! Ok I'm happy now. EDIT 2: This is very nice. Like a lovely, slightly fizzy, very slightly (almost) powdery cardamon/cinnamon/saffron (somehow reminds me of loveheart sweets, but not quite) floating above a little bit boozy (kinda reminds me of brandy or rum - but soft), ambery, woody base. Vetiver has a cameo too but it doesn't jump out at all, just blends nicely into the base. Excellent stuff and an absolute bargain.

Smells very niche, and to me smells like Costume National Homme in the opening (without cloves) and then goes somewhere similar to Penhaligon's Halfeti or Chopard Oud Malaki. Great cold weather scent and well suited for nightouts. Amazing blend of spices and woods. Cedar is very toned down, so Waaw doesnt give you the carpenter shop crisp/dry woodiness, instead it gives you a warm woodsy vibe. Amber and cinnamon are main players and cedar. Maybe i get a hint of rose too, not fresh rose but very dark, sweetened rose. Will wait for performance, but these kind of frags tend to stick well and from initial 30 mins it shouts strength. Understated. Elegant. Smooth. Lovely walnut bitterness, cinnamon-cardamom heat, lavender calm.... I believe it's the gurjun balsam that tricked my brain into screaming 'masculine' at my first whiff of the opening. I looked it up and it indeed appears in one of the fragrances that my father would wear. So I tried disassociating the smell from the 'male' label and objectively appreciating it. By the third time I wore Waaw, all I perceived was the spicy-woody-warm beauty of it. Gurjun balsam smells fresh, almost peppermint sharp to me now. Masculine, you say? Hold my Cosmopolitan.

This is a lovely blend. The top notes, upon opening, are spicy, but lean sweet (not sugary-- more like the sweetness of apple cider spices). Resinous gurjan, amber, and woods emerge more during the drydown. The sandalwood is consistently present from first spray, though it becomes creamier over time. Overall, the evolution is fairly linear. Waaw is unisex, but I disagree that it leans masculine. If you want a really masculine scent, you may find this one way too sweet. The quality and scent are a great value for the price! Moderate to strong sillage. 8+ hour longevity on me.

I don't wear for compliments, but my goodness does this get some. It seems to be a perfect match on my skin, it lasts for hours, projects well and is a really lovely scent. Spicy and a little sweet with some delicate florals, it's actually quite an unusual one and I don't really own anything like, but it just seems to work so well on me. Seriously someone I had just met came up and said "Whatever you're wearing, just wear that from now on, it's just perfect for you". I haven't listened of course, but I've never had better compliments wearing anything else!

I like it. I get wood. Sweet and slight cinnamon. It gets a little sweeter on the drydown. A very classy scent for the cooler weather. I'm pleased with this one. I'll have to wait for the cooler weather though. Definitely doesn't smell cheap. I feel like they could have added vanilla or iris to it, like put more of a shift in the development of the fragrance as it sits on your skin. Smells very similar to Ben Sherman Icon, but better imo. This isn't a must have fragrance, but I'm looking forward to wearing it in the colder months.

The first day I wore this to work I received 4 or 5 compliments within the first hour of being there. I took the bottle with me in case I needed to reapply. A truck driver making a delivery to my job smelled me and asked me what it was. I showed him the bottle and he offered to buy it off me on the spot. He offered me more than I spent on it so I accepted. I reordered a bottle as obviously this stuff works well on my skin. I have smelled the whole lineup and this one is leaps and bounds the best one.

A versatile and likeable banger by Rasasi! This smells surprisingly creamy, sweet and soft to me - a great balance of spicy notes and calm wood notes. Very very similar to Boucheron Oud de Carthage and Penhaligon's Mr. Sam and a great alternative for these two. The DNA of these perfumes is amazing! Longevity is great and projection is moderately balanced! As this perfume is quite versatile, I can imagine wearing this in lots of different situations. Rating: 8.5/10 - Greatness!

This is absolutely amazing, it does remind me of the D&G the one, but not too similar. Has a sweetish balsamic smell to it that gets better the more i smell it. It definitely is very warm though, I wouldn't consider it too sweet but definitely a very warm smell. The walnut has a smoother, sweeter, and more resinous smell compared to the likes of almond I get from br540. Wouldn't be surprised if someone called this niche, super luxurious stuff. I would say perfectly unisex.

بعد تجارب عديدة لهذا العطر الجميل جداً، يستحق كل مبلغ يدفع مقابله، العطر فيه كمية نقاء غير مألوفة من عطور الرصاصي وعطور الشركات العربية، ثباته وفوحانه جداً مرضي، لكن الحبكة والرائحة شيء من الآخر، يوجد تشابه مع مستر سام وهالفيتي وعود دو قرطاج؟ نعم صحيح لكن هناك ايضاً فروقات،هذا العطر الترابل فيه من الهيل والقرفة والفلفل الاسود اوضح من العطور الأخرى، السويتية هنا معتدلة.. العطر قيمته في حدود 170 ريال أقل من 50 دولار ويستحق ما تدفعه من اجله، خذ هذا العظر وعلى ضمانتي..

Got it yesterday. Aww nice.Absolutely unisex.Niche quality. It is definetlly Halfeti vibe 90%. Its spicy,balsamic,slightly dry sweet and woody,but not heavy in any sence.Stays on clothes,and the drydown is oh magical.I would say sexy too. Sillage average to high.Get whifs 5-6 hours I overspray it on my sweater and just enjoying this olfactory experience.All year round exept 30 above celcius not. Banger for the price,second bottle on its way.

This is such an excellent fragrance! Spicy woody at the right levels. The main players in the opening are the cardamom, cinnamon, and balsam. They perfectly set the stage for this woody drydown. I get some pencil shavings vibe in that drydown that's great. It projects crazy for the first 2 hours, lasting 10 hours on my skin...maybe more. I would say this is slept on but it's been hard to find lately. Glad to have a bottle of this!

If you like Guerlain Ideal EDP or Intense, then you will most probably like this one too. Luckily sufficiently far from those so no risk of redundant buy. The difference is that this one is more oily, thicker and longer lasting. The type of perfume I would spray on myself at home to enjoy.Great value for the price. Overall 8.5/10.

I feel like at the first minute (only) of this fragrance's burst, there was this similar boozy vibe to that of the hugo boss the scent intense, but after that minute it goes it's own way far far enough for the sotoor waaw to get ahead of the hugo boss in terms of longevity, sillage, projection.

A very well done resinous, spicey and woody fragrance with sweet and powdery undertones. Very similar to Chopard Oud Malaki IMO. Very much a masculine scent to my nose. I get good projection and longevity on my skin. If you like spicey and woody scents you should try this one.

Soft smell of spices and tobacco that lasts a looong time. Which is good coz if it is to be more intense, it would cause headache for many. Perfectly balanced, really pleasing smell. As a sucker of spicy tobacco fragrance, I like it a lot

Lovely perfume! Spicy, balmy and slightly sweet. To me it's perfectly unisex when you want a perfume that is not a typical girly or womanly perfume. The longevity is very good, but I am a bit sad that the projection isn't stronger.

Just arrived today from the house of Rasasi UK Sama Perfumes and it's simply marvelous. Splashes on smooth fresh aromatic woody sensational. Lightly scented uniquely blended. Sophisticated arrogant classy.

This fragrance is nearly identical to MMM Replica Jazz Club. JC is a bit brighter and touch more spicy but they are so close it's totally redundant to have both.

Voice-Of-God, you must have received a fake. Mine, bought from notino, has very good longevity and sillage. I get complements during the day.

The opening is very similar to Oud Malaki by Chopard. Then to my nose it takes a vanillic path and stays there. Some notes are just in the opening and then immediately gone like cinnamon and saffron but some like walnut lingers there. Overall, I really like it and it's an interesting fragrance especially the walnut note. People drawing similarities to Costume National, I don't really get it. For its price it is really good quality. Longevity is better than average but silage not much. Oud Malaki stays on my shirt for a good 2-3 days. I would say don't buy it in place for Oud Malaki, but its own thing.

Bañarse o que te bañen en este olor es un placer. Una fragancia muy bien construida, narcotica y embriagadora.

Spicebomb & Bvlgari Man in Black. This is exactly that. Very well made, smooth & inoffensive. You can tell that is of good quality. The smell is definitely Viktor&Rolf Spicebomb & Bvglari Man in Black. That same warm, spicy cinnamon scent with a woody base. I like it, & for the price of ~$42 for 100ml EDP that performs very well, this is a deal for all the Spicebomb/MiB lovers. "Like".

@Bambus hit the nail on head with review. Very strop performing fragrance that goes in similar direction to D&G The One EDP, while not smelling exactly the same. Borderline beastmode stuff too..

I purchased this after watching several YouTube videos. They compared it to spicebomb which was on my radar, so I took a chance. I love it. Spicy but pleasant.

Linear creamy cardamom, supported by cinnamon, very close indeed (from top to base) to the drydown of Chopard Oud Malaki. Like Chopard's, it shows low to moderate performance. That's pretty much all I have to say for that one. That said, at around $40 a pop, it might do the job as a utilitarian office designer-level fragrance for colder days, for who looks for an intimate scent to smell decent, without standing out. Overall likeable, but also quite forgettable.

Yes I agree . This is a sexy / alluring scent and to some extent make people smell again and again. BUT There is LACK of something , due to which this craft feels like incomplete project . Might change my opionion. But this is what I think as of now . Doesn't deserve full bottle but a decant for sure. 7.5/10

Nice scent, but the perfume is overrated. Much better offers can be found for its price. Also, its longevity is weak on my skin. I would not recommend it to anyone, and I would not repeat the purchase. Overall rating 6/10

4.5/10 Scent = 1/3 Performance = 2/3 Wearability = 1/3 Value = 0.5/1 (no additional point for value) It is hard to rate this. For some people, it could be a good fragrance for the price. For me, it seems too sweet, with a hint of licorice and bitterness (in the opening) that I can feel in the larynx that I hate. The opening is too synthetic, and the overall smell makes me nauseous. Dry down is also way too sweet for my taste. I am glad I sampled it first. Probably, I should wear it all day to come to the final conclusion about this.

Just recieved this... it's like i've recieved an obnoxious spicy-synthetic sweet- car fragrance... which i will throw it away... i love sweet fragrances but this smells obnoxious and cheap

According to previous reviews, I might say it's a smooth & elegant aroma, turning sweeter after the first spicy top notes and also bringing soft wood over them after the first 10 minutes aprox. But I might also suggest avoiding the Oct 2020 batch as it seems to develope a poor skin scent projection. When deeping your nose in your skin you can feel the typical perfume thickness, it's not a question of being a light-watery-poor composition, you can feel the distance from an EDT, but, besides the correct blending, projection it's close to zero... I just got my order from Notino, consisting in this and Simply Blanc, a Tom Ford's Soleil Blanc dupe from Just Jack. Soleil Blanc is considered a lo projection rating perfume, I appllied 2 Simply Blanc sprays on top of my right hand and Sotoor Waaw on top of my left hand (2 sprays, twice) and both top and back forearm, several sprays). My right hand is devouring my left arm, I can barely smell Rasasi's one completely overcome by the clone of a considered lo projection perfume. After 30 minutes it's almost gone (10 sprays in total!) even the kind of gentle point it reached after the first 10 minutes, (an everyday elegant non offensive fragrance...) So to my nose it doesn't brig much in terms of originality, concept and performance (which might be the biggest problem, preventing to evaluate the notes cause they are all gone...) To all this perfume lovers, to Notino and to Rasasi, I'm so sorry to give this bad review, but I will never ever get one of this again, for sure! I can't even decide if it's my cup of tea in terms of fragrance, that lo is performance I get... Unisex? Maybe Projection? Close to zero Longevity? Skin scent since minute 1. Almost disappeared after 30 minutes... I insist, maybe there's a problem with the October 2020 batch

UPDATE | @Przem - I'm going to buy another bottle of this from Notino. The more I read reviews here, the more I feel I was stiffed with the first bottle I purchased. I'll add my thoughts once I receive the new bottle, meantime I'll leave my initial review below. REVIEW | 100 ml EDP Based on the good reviews here, I bought this from SAMA perfumes Rasasi's UK distributor. I have to say I'm extremely disappointed with what I received. First of all the label on the bottle has been applied squint which doesn't look very professional. Worse still, on application I detect hardly any fragrance at all - No oud, no cinnamon, nothing spicy whatsoever - In fact, the only thing I do pick up is something smelling slightly acrid. This formulation is so weak that IMO it's completely false to designate its strength as an eau de parfum concentration. I can only assume that I've been sent perfume that has either gone off, or is an extremely diluted version of the fragrance that the other reviewers here have commented so positively on. The batch # on the box was R3007737/F1063151. The manufacture date was March 2018. (Making the bottle I was sent 20 months old) Here's the thing that annoyed me; they sent a tester strip with it which actually smelled pretty good, but... it smells completely different from the fragrance that's actually contained in the bottle I received. Of course after you open the packaging and spray the fragrance thereby ascertaining that it smells different from the test strip, they then say that they can't accept returns!!! I have bought many perfumes over the last 40 years, but on this occasion I feel like I've been totally ripped off. I would never buy from them again. Based on my experience I would not recommend that you buy this from where I did.

This is a high quality powerful scent with strong projection. I tested it yesterday and one spray on my wrist was enough to project for several hours. After 10 hours on my skin it was still not weak enough to deserve to be called a skin scent. Beastmode, definitely. One spray on a piece of paper filled my whole room. Waaw is of a similar style of fragrance as Dolce Gabana The One EDP. I am not saying they smell the same, however they share that spicy sweetness, I would say they definitely go the same direction. If you like The One EDP, I think you will like this one. And be asured that this outperforms The One in all aspects.

Rasasi, a safe house to buy from in every aspect. I'm surprised that no one has made comparisons to VR Spicebomb, the first spray immediately alluded to comparisons with Spicebomb. An excellent very well balanced scent for the autumn and winter season, drydown also reminds me of Bvlgari man in black and D&G the one. Well blended, as in none of the notes take prominence, after the initial dash of spice it settles down into a homely sort of mixture of cinnamon, amber, sandalwood and saffron. I do get a distinct Vanilla note as well, although there is none listed Good longevity as is with Rasasi and good projection also.

This juice is amazing. It is strong...and projects very well. I have received both compliaments and dislikes from friends/co-workers while wearing this. Mostly positive. I fell this is in the same family "type" scent as SJP Stash. They are not twins....just relatives.I find this Rasasi much sweeter than Stash. I love this !!! But, it may not be for everyone..... I have ordered Rasasi Sotoor Seen...which is supposed to have the "vibe" of Dior J'Adore,but leaning more unisex. We shall see when it gets here !!! Scent: 8/10 Projection 9/10 Sillage 8/10 Dry down is pleasantly ..."softer" than when first sprayed.

This fragrance is beautiful... A wonderful mix of spices and woods, mixed with a light oud, a woody resinous oud. There is the perfect amount of sweetness with some creaminess in the backround. Now I pick up a definite tobacco note which makes this scent seem very similar to two other scents in particular, those are Maison margiela jazz club and oud malaki, it's like these two fragrances had a love child. Imo the performance is very good overall...all in all its a great scent at a great price

Whomever is likening this to Tobacco Oud, I worry for you. Please find an ENT at the earliest! This is a light woodsy rice pudding. Nothing about this has any semblance to the style of Tobacco Oud or Spicebomb as is incorrectly recommended here. It seems weak. Like a watered down, less sweet discount version of Carner Barcelona El Born. Get the latter if you want a sweet woodsy scent for fall/winter/spring. Overall I do not expect this one to last more than a 3 hours on me. Disappointed.

A pleasant, semi-sweet spicy amber perfume. The most dominant note is walnut, which is quite unusual, there are very few perfumes with this note. Sandalwood, cardamom, cinnamon and saffron are strong too, the pepper is more in the background. The notes blend really well, it's a nice composition, it's smooth yet unusual. Performance is average, strong sillage in the beginning, but it's not very long lasting. Leans more feminine, but men can wear it too.

This is a direct dupe of Amber Orientale by Jean Paul DuPont. That Amber note is unmistakable. There is no incense listed in the note breakdown but you can tell it's definitely an oriental fragrance. Not bad but I already own Amber Orientale and that fragrance isn't even listed in this site's database. Well, if no less I atleast have a new backup bottle of JPD.

Has a slight resonance with Dunhill Icon black. It’s probably the vetiver that brings the association between the two. But I will say for the £16 I paid in a Rasasi Store in Abu Dhabi, it was an outright steal, doesn’t smell overly synthetic or like air freshener, has good performance and projection, and isn’t really a dupe of anything!

Very poor blending , smells like a cheap clone of something i cant point finger right now . price its ok at Notino, i gave it to my friend which also didnt like it much. . ive heard Leopard its good ( not in the data base here on frag) PS; DILUTED like most of their new offerings !!!

Sotoor waaw didn't live up to the hype for me. It's a slightly sweet, spicy woody scent with average performance. To me it smells like you took D&G the one, took away the fruity notes and made it a little more woody. I think there are better options that are cheaper than this one.

Love this fragrance for the colder months. Opens with beautiful cinnamon/nutty spice notes and dries down to a warm and woodsy overtone. It can be overpowering so use it sparingly! Lasts all day. Can easily be an affordable signature scent from the Fall through winter.

Easy to like fragrance. Pleasant when you catch the whiff in the air. My only complaint is that it doesn't perform well on me. Goes weak quickly and then stays close to the skin. Is it just me or there is some issue with the current batch? Not sure.

Such a vibe of a fragrance! It opens sour/spicy? It gets smooth and mystical after 10 minutes. The spices are incredibly mouthwatering. Very long lasting and potent. Great compliment puller in the colder months. Bought for around €25. A bargain!
