Son of a Mint

Opens natural and green with fresh, dewy garden herbs—bitter, tangy tomato leaf, hints of sage, oregano and rosemary, all deftly blended. The lavenders are soft and cool, aided in effect by the camphor. The heart of mint, tea and subtle florals soon blooms, rose, jasmine and neroli accenting while mint takes main stage—the previous dewy garden connotations no longer present but it’s freshness preserved, while steering far clear of anything toothpasty. The tea and mint play a balancing act, curbing each other’s more dominant facets and creating a simple, refreshing accord, neither too green nor too dark, too tea-like nor too minty. The whole affair is also given new life from the base, the sweet benzoin, labdanum and vanilla and a touch of smoky birch tar creating a luxurious balsamic brew. I don’t personally find the leather aspect too prominent. All in all, surprisingly and extraordinarily casual and easy to wear! Still being a type of a fougère, a Son of a Fougère, perhaps, I find it leans male, in spite of nearly wanting to categorize it as semi-gourmand. Sillage moderate, longevity great, bottle and sprayer awesome. Bravo, good sir!!

Interesting modern fougere that is somewhat of a shapeshifter. The scent opens with an aromatic burst of mint, lavender, oregano, camphor, tomato leaf and sage. Then it starts transitioning to a brief floral heart of rose, jasmine and neroli. The perfume settles into a powdery base of labdanum, cedar, benzoin, patchouli and vanilla. The slight masculine leaning scent has moderate sillage and longevity. It is a somewhat bumpy but fun ride while it lasts. Enjoy!

Like the milk song by lankybox... "Minty mint, minty mint, minty minty mint. MINT!" It's like they took toothpaste and mixed it with everything from the nearest garden. Yeah there are "green notes" and herbs and stuff, but the mint is so in your face and overpowering. And I don't even like mint that much! Big mistake! It's like the mint icecream debate, some people love it and some people hate it. I don't hate it or anything it's just that mint is such an every day scent I don't really want to smell like it.
