Winter Oak

Really great fragrance! If you like mossy scents, this one is for you. It is mossier than the perfumes i have called Moss. It is very dry and definitely seems like something you would want to wear during cold weather.

Dark, dreamy woods!...what a cozy fall/winter perfume...totally reminds me of Bowmakers but at half the price...

One of my favorites for winter and fall

On me, unfortunately, this is oak and cedar and nothing else. I like woody scents, but no matter how long I wait, none of the other notes present themselves. I thought I got a whiff of spice, but maybe that was wishful thinking. I love how woody the Raw Spirit line is in general, but this on me is wood and wood alone. I guess you could layer it to make it interesting, but that's an awfully expensive bottle just to buy to have to use with something else to make it workable. I'll pass.

I received a sample of this fragrance with press materials from Nomad Two Worlds. Winter Oak is a beautiful unisex (maybe leaning towards the masculine a bit) fragrance that opens with sunny citrus aromas and a dry woody/spicy scent. The gorgeous Haitian vetiver I loved in the line's Bijou Vert and Citadelle scents is noticeable here, too, but the oak and woody notes really dominate the scent. The suede appears about two hours in and begins softening the edges of the wood. Winter Oak has good longevity, fading over the course of 7 hours or so--pretty much an entire workday--to the gentle patchouli and musk of the base. Overall, Winter Oak is a clean, pleasant, truly unisex fragrance that is especially well-suited to Autumn and Winter, with average sillage and good persistence. A pleasure to wear or to smell on someone close to you.

Upon initial spray, I get cedar and more cedar, but this has a lot more going on. Once the cedar retreats, it's oaky, herbal, earthy, and spicy. The name is slightly misleading since it's not particularly cold or dry, and here that's a virtue since it's a distinctly alive version of winter. It really does feel like wandering through a forest on a cool day, but one in which grasses (thanks to the vetiver, Raw Spirit's favorite note), dirt, and moss are still wonderfully fragrant. As a personal preference, I really like layering this one with a rose soliflore oil.

This is the second offering that I've tried from Raw Spirit.. I love this one too!! It is warm and cozy, and does remind of me taking a stroll through a forest. The notes really describe this one well. I smell all the woods, and it's warmed up with some subtle spices. Yum!

An excellent woods fragrance. Clean but strong like the Oak in the opening. The dry down is also very nice. I didn't think I liked Oak themed fragrances when I first tried them, but they have really grown on me. This one is definitely on my radar now.

I had to dab this on three different spots to confirm what my nose is making of this. Smoked bacon rashers. Earthy, herbal, a little rubbery leathery, oaky....smoked bacon is all I'm getting for the most part! Each to their own, this is not my scent.
